talking fingers: However we choose to look at it, it was out of order for the lad to be tagged as 'Yoruba'. Being the one nation we are (for now), this feat calls for national celebration as well as deep reflection. Why are we so backward a nation in spite of our huge individual potentials? It's obviously gotta do with this sorta petty bickering being exhibited here. If we must go our separate ways, no be on top Osewa Nairaland na! Let's go about it properly. Until then, this 4.0-scoring brother belongs to us all.
HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Tunde20197: 1:50pm On Oct 19, 2012
With the list of food below/food processor, i think you need to get a baby weight conversion calculator handy(tells you when to slow down on them food) e.g our baby girl is approaching 10 months and shes already 9.6kg(even after she came down with rotavirus i.e stooling and vommiting for days)although the books says she should be 8.5kg at 10 months so we are like 1.1kg above....
my point is whatch the weight as you feed.
jidegirl12: Blend oatmeal into powder and cook with water, mix with variety of fruits and let her drink milk ( formula) on top.

Blend pasta( any kind) with pasta sauce and feed for supper or lunch , drink 4oz milk on top.

Other meal ideas;

Rice pudding
Couscous
Sweet potato
Yogurt
Cottage cheese & fruit cocktail
Rice rusks and breast milk
And many more, just have the food processor handy and you're rolling.

thelastPope: From your comment, I don't think you live in Nigeria. First, BB is not expensive. It is very cheap like pure water and the only reason some people don't have it is illiteracy. They can't really do the typing thing. And subscribing for bb is also cheap at 1400 or 1500 per month. Most people use that on calls per week.

Like I said before, Nigerians waste money on calls as a status thing, just like we do in every other aspect of our lives; like marrying the same person 4 times! Introduction, second introduction, court, traditional, church! Actually, that's 5 five times and add to that engagement and wedding after parties and church thankgiving!!! Now that's madness!

People carry as much as 7 phones around in Lagos. And some of these guys don't even have accomodation! What flimsy excuse is bonding? Bonding for what? Is that the reason you tell yourself? A man should live by budget not bonding! Why do you think these network are encouraged to keep doing these promos and refuse to reduce their calls rates? Because they know people like you will keep making those unnecessary "bonding" calls and they will keep smiling to the bank!

Tolaaaaannni: Well I don't know if to call it racism or just down right cruelty. It happened in my Junior year of college, and my white professor called me and told me that I will never pass her class. I thought she was joking at first, then she told me that no foreign student (Africans) as ever passed her class before, After she said that I knew I had my work cut out for me. That semester I studied harder than i have ever had in my life, I made sure that i didn't give her any excuse to fail me. I kept all my work and test papers. When it was time to check grades, she gave me a C and i went back to her to ask why, she said I didn't do some work. The next day I came back with a folder filled with all my work and test papers from the day i stepped into that class, I told her that if she doesn't change my grade I would go to the office of student affairs and make a complaint about her. When she saw the look on my face, she knew she wasn't dealing with a softy. When i went online to check my grades again that night, she had changed it to an "A" tongue smiley tongue. That was the first time i had experienced something i could call racism and it definitely wasn't the last.

God bless you big. Too much hatred here pple cant even think straight anymore. sad

bayooooooo: The politics of emptiness and the race of fools for gold medal in stupidity. Even with the North’s domination of political space, illogical and fake population figures, where is the advantage today? It has brought backwardness not just to Nigeria but the whole of Africa. The North as it is today is poorer in everything than even the region that was destroyed during the war. With the current bloody and destructive campaign by Boko Haram, the North has further set back her region economically by almost fifty years.

The Military today is now Nigerian and not Northern Nigeria’s Military of 1960s. The nationalism of the 60s is now effectively replaced with open and unapologetic tribalism. The propaganda machine is now accessible to everyone one with naira and Kobo and a virile presence on social media. The Nigeria of today is way very different from that of the 60s. The North should tread with caution. The North cannot win the next civil war if there is any.

Nigeria is salvageable. The country has not crossed the irredeemable tipping point. Instead of engaging in empty chest beating of winning a non-existent war, they should admit their failure and join hands with patriotic elements across the length and breadth of the country to move Nigeria forward. They should drop unreasonable opposition to efforts geared towards restructuring and returning Nigeria to a true political and fiscal federal state. They should allow a proper census count devoid of illogicality and devilish manipulations. They should allow every effort towards creating a truly credible national identification scheme c.um database succeeds. They should allow secularism to thrive without threat from political Islamism.

Political consciousness is on the rise. The electoral riggings of the past are being curtailed and the defeated regions (the East and West) are now recreating power blocks and gradually putting competent hands at the helm of affairs. Meanwhile the North continues to delude herself in the vain pursuits of power that has not fetched the region anything past misery and unbelievable poverty in the past. In the final scheme of things, we might not fight another war. But one thing is sure: the gap between the North and the South will continue to expand economically if the present status quo is not changed with both regions flatly fall short of their maximum potentials. We may soon reach a model not entirely different from that of Koreans.
PropertiesRe: Cost Of Building A 4/5 Bedroom Duplex From Fuondation Level by Tunde20197: 4:51pm On May 11, 2012
aasog: I am not sure why you want to use an earth-quake resistant block for your home in Nigeria sir. Of course the Hydra-form blocks are far better and stronger than our normal hollow blocks here but most are used basically in countries like South Africa, the middle east, India, and California in the US. But under engineering, they serve a totally different purpose and not a MUST when building in an earthquake free zone like Nigeria.
Even in Dubai where they have low magnitude earthquakes once a while, the hollow blocks we use in Nigeria are highly used, though they tend to bury a shocking large amount of steel and concrete deep into the ground for an ordinary foundation, and their home foundations are usually subcontracted to road builders. I mean, they spend fortunes on reinforced concretization to beat the earthquake, and they've prevailed.
Hydra-form blocks are good blocks to use, but totally a waste of money sir
. Whoever is selling it to you doesnt really understand that its only quality is just thermal and tremor resistance. Besides that, its just an ordinary block. Best of luck in finding a Lebanese or Indian construction company that will set that up for you.
you dont know what you ure missing, i think you need to try working with laterite/mud blocks as againts the popular hollow blocks, though labour is intensive and work can be slow, but what you loose, you gain many times over in material cost, because cement content is so so very low in mud blocks + cooling is off the hook.
Trust me you wont miss building with hollow blocks , besides not all laterite /mud blocks are earth- quake resistant.
