Suicide is to purposefully take one’s own life out of misdirected self-love.

Statistically, there are roughly 29,000 successful suicides in the United States each year; compared to 19,000 murders and 13,000 AIDS related deaths.

Suicide has never been a solution to any problem. Rather, it makes whoever the deceased leaves behind to grief and mourn.



Honestly, there are suicidal behaviors to look out for in anyone who is at the verge of committing suicide. There are indications that a person is considering suicide.

And I’m writing this so that we can also help at reducing the rate at which suicide is committed in this country.

If you notice any of these signs, please seek help from professionals or spiritual leaders.

These are the suicidal signs/symptoms;

• Hopelessness
Acts 16:27
[27]And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and SEEING THE PRISON DOORS OPEN, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

When the Philippian jailor woke up and could not find Paul and Silas. He lost hope and thought the next thing for him to do was to kill himself.

He lost hope immediately that he did not even bother to find them.

The first suicidal sign is hopelessness. Listen, when you get to a point where you have no hope. It’s a point you don’t believe that your tomorrow will be greater than today. Beware!

There is a always light at the end of a tunnel. The Bible says, hope maketh not ashamed. The devil will try as much as possible to blind your eyes to golden opportunities that abound.

Any man who says he doesn’t hope things will be better is very close to committing suicide. We must try to help him.

Identifying The Sources Of Dreams

One of the proofs of hopelessness is to give up. The jailor refused to find Paul and Silas. Therefore, he gave up.

So, when a man gives up trying, struggling and praying to make thing better he is at risk for suicide.

Realistically, one will want to leave this world by killing himself/herself when he sees nothing good in this world.

Let’s look out for this sign in people who are very closed to us.

Hopelessness is the pregnancy that gives birth to suicide. To avoid suicide, be hopeful for a better tomorrow.

• Constant statement about suicide
1 Samuel 31:4
[4]Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, DRAW THY SWORD, AND THRUST ME THROUGH THEREWITH; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. THEREFORE SAUL TOOK A SWORD, AND FELL UPON IT.

In this story, Saul wanted to die and he told his armour bearer about it. He wanted to die and he made it known to someone who was closed to him at that moment.

Afterwards, King Saul ended up killing himself(suicide). So, it’s possible to know who is at risk for suicide by what they say.

Obviously, it is not everyone who wants to commit suicide that will talk about it.

However, there are some people who will talk about it before they commit it.

For instance, when you friend approaches you and begins to say; “I’ll kill myself someday.” Please, do not abandon such person.

You can refer him to someone who can help him.

Find out what his issues are and how you can be of help. Do not trivialise the issues of those who always say to you that; they are going to kill themselves someday.

I have heard of many stories from the friends of those who committed suicide.

Some of them once said that his friend told him he was going to commit suicide one day but he thought it was a joke. He laughed it off.

A day after, the man committed suicide and died.

Therefore, Whoever says to you he is going to commit suicide. Move closer to him and make sure you help him.

HOW TO IDENTIFY FALSE PROPHETS

Today, false prophets are parading themselves as true prophets. There are so many ministers who are wolves in sheep's clothing. Sadly, it has become very cumbersome to really differentiate the true ministers of the gospel from the fake ones.

Truly, the Bible has not left us without an answer. In this article, I am going to show you through the help of the Holy Spirit, how we can identify/recognize false prophets so that we will not fall into their hands.

More so, Jesus said by their fruits you shall know them (Mat 7:30). But, he did not really list those fruits if you read the passage forward. By the grace of God, we'll highlight those fruits in this article, that will enable us to identify false prophets.

Four Ways To Identify False Prophets
• They will introduce destructive doctrines:
2 Peter 2:1
[1]But there were FALSE PROPHETS also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

You can easily recognize a false teacher/prophet/pastor/apostle by the kind of doctrine he preaches. Any prophet who preaches whatever is contrary to the Word of God is false.

One of the ways you can identify a false prophet is through his teaching. Such person may say there is nothing like rapture, second coming of Jesus Christ, salvation and so on. Any teaching you hear that contradicts the whole counsel of God's Word is false.

False prophets are fond of introducing teachings that are destructive and harmful to the body of Christ. I heard of a teaching that says blood transfusion is wrong. The proponent of such teaching forbids his followers from partaking in blood transfusion.

Anyways, I'd find time to explain blood transfusion in my subsequent post. But, I just want you to know that false prophets usually introduce destructive teachings and heresies. Beware!
Some of these false teachers would say there is nothing wrong in premarital sex which God's Word totally forbids. Also, some of them would specify the kind of food you should eat as if we are in the old testament.

Whenever you see a man or woman of God who preaches whatever is against the scriptures, you have seen a false minister. Beware!

• They will deny the Lord
2 Peter 2:1
[1]But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, EVEN DENYING THE LORD THAT BOUGHT THEM, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Although, it's not all of these false preachers that will deny the Lord publicly. Because, some of them use the name of Jesus to pray. But there are many of them whose lifestyle denies the Lord.

A false prophet will present himself as the Alpha and Omega in his Church. His teaching will not promote Jesus but will promote him (who is the false prophet).

For example, I have seen a ministry where only the word of the set-man over the ministry counts. But not the Word of God. The members believe so much in their prophet than Jesus. They'll rather hold on to their prophet rather than holding on to Jesus. This practice is not biblical.

One of the ways to identify false prophets is through their deeds that deny Jesus. They enjoy doing what Jesus did not do. False prophets can sleep with any member they want to sleep with. The question to ask is; did Jesus sleep with another man's wife? No.

So, beware of any prophet whose lifestyle denies the Lord Jesus.

• They will exploit believers
2 Peter 2:3
[3]In their GREED these teachers WILL EXPLOIT YOU with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (NIV).

One of the ways to identify false prophet/teacher/pastor/preacher is through their greediness for money. Oh my God! They love money. Whatever they do is for money sake.

Even if they are to accept preaching engagement. They will accept it because of the money they will get after ministration. These false prophets will introduce all kinds of offerings. They will take up different offerings in order to have more money.

Some of these false prophets sell miracle water, miracle fruits, miracle handkerchief, miracle clothes and so on. We are not told anywhere in the Bible to sell anointed materials to Church members. It is just a total deceit!

The Apostles prayed on aprons and handkerchiefs but they never sold them. It was those people that brought them for prayers and they took those materials home after prayers. Beware! Do not let them exploit you.


When you see any preacher who exploits people, you have just seen a false preacher. Any prophet who hides under any guise to exploit people is a fake prophet.

In Nigeria, I have heard of a prophet who said that he saw a vision that a particular wealthy man in his Church died. And if that man wanted to avert that sudden death, he should sow "long life seed" into his ministry. So, that the man would live long. And the man did. But is this scriptural? No.

You don't hide under the guise of seed sowing to exploit believers. It is good for believers to give. But they need to know the right reasons for giving. Believers should not give in order to avert specific evil. Believers should give because they love they Lord.

More so, believers need to be careful as more ministers are going into ministry basically to make money. Beware!

You identify a false prophet by his love for money. Avoid such people. Do not let them prophesy money out of your pocket.


• They will decieve many people
Matthew 24:11
[11]And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Deception is the hallmark of a false prophet. They are full of lies and deceit. No one can trust their words. False prophet will decieve people with 'staged' miracles. As a matter of fact, they will deceive many people, even the elect. Beware!

Although, debt is not a sin but it is a weight. You may want to quote scriptures upon scriptures to justify your decision for living a life that is orchestrated by excessive debt. But, the truth is, debt is a form of bondage. To borrow to live is to live a life of falsehood. Borrowing to live is to live a bloated life.

TOP FOUR EXCUSES YOU MUST NEVER MAKE

Excuse is the foundation upon which failure is built. Anyone who loves giving excuses to salvage himself from receiving blame will hardly succeed. Great people are not the ones who give reasons for failure.

Nevertheless, great men are those who accept responsibility for their failure and proffer solutions to it. A life that is full of excuses is a life that is irresponsible. However, I want to show you top four excuses a person must not give.

TOP FIVE EXCUSES YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE
• “I am from a poor family.”
Can I ask you this? Is success only meant for those who come from the rich family? Has God never lifted those who had poor background?

Sincerely, do not let your background put your back to the ground. Your ability is not in anyway limited because you come from a poor family. And if it is limited, you created the limitation by your thought.

In the Bible, David was from a poor family before he became the king of Isreal. He was tending the flock when he was called to be anointed to be a King.

Ben Carson, the world renowned neurosurgeon came from a poor family. He lacked fatherly care and his mother was left to do menial jobs before she could take care of him.

Manchester United’s forward, Alexis Sanchez was a son of a woman who was a cleaner. He said he was motivated to succeed whenever he saw his mother cleaning school. Today Alexis has risen to become one of the best footballers in the World.

Let poverty motivate you to work hard. Do not let it demotivate you. Stop saying you cannot succeed because you come from a poor family. There are a lot of people who come from poor families and have become influential and great.

• “I have nobody to help me.”
John 5:5,7
[5]And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
[7]The impotent man answered him, SIR, I HAVE NO MAN, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

Another excuse people give is that they had nobody to sponsor them. This man stayed on the same spot for thirty eight years because he felt he had no man to help him. Logically, if that man had been crawling every year by himself he would have gotten to the pool. To me I think the man did not make the move enough, to earn his access to the pool.

Maybe, you are in this kind of position. Every time people accuse you for not working, you justify yourself by saying, you have nobody to sponsor your dreams. And God does not sponsor laziness. God will sponsor those who are trying their best to make it. Just start from somewhere.

When you have no man to help you. What do you do? Pray. When Daniel and his friends had no man to help them, they prayed. When the Jews had no man to save them from Haman’s insidious plan, they prayed. When Jabez had no man to help him, he prayed. When the Church had no man to help them release Peter from the Prison, they prayed earnestly (Acts 12: 5). Just pray! Pray!

Stop saying you have nobody to help you. Your creator is waiting to help you. And once you call upon Him, He will raise men to help you.

• I am the least in my Father’s house
Judges 6:15
[15]And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I AM THE LEAST IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE .

Gideon was too timid, being the last born in his Father’s house, he thought it was impossible for God to use him mightily. He thought God would only raise the firstborn to do mighty works for him. One of the excuses you must never make is to use your position in your family to justify your failure.

Blatantly, no matter your position in your family, God can make you great. Trust in the Lord and depend on Him. Work hard and do not depend on your elder brother.

Despite the fact that Gideon was the least in his family, God used him mightily to deliver the Israelites from the Philistines. Forget about your position in your family and work hard. The least can be breadwinner if he is helped by God. And the first born can also be great if he’s helped by God.....

A wise man once said that, ” when the purpose of a thing is not known its abuse is inevitable.” Truthfully, when a man does not know the purpose for which God is blessing him, he will misuse the money.

For instance, when you give a little baby #1,000 note, the child may take the money to his mouth and start chewing it. Don’t blame the child because the child did that. The child did that because he did not know the purpose, that money is meant to fulfil.

FIVE BASIC REASONS GOD BLESSES PEOPLE.
• To be a blessing
Genesis 12:2
[2]And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

God said He was going to bless Abram and he was going to be a blessing. To be a blessing means to be a solution to people’s problem, source of hope to people’s lack, and a channel of blessing to people.

Today, people have abused the huge money God has placed in their hands. They use the money to cheat people, oppress the poor and use it for selfish gain.

One of the reasons God blesses believers is to use their wealth to take care of the less privileged, promote the welfare of the street delinquent and enable people live a better life. He doesn’t only bless a man because he needs money to take care of his family alone. Rather, he blesses him to be a blessing to other families.

To be sincere, the money you have that you are not using to bless people has been abused. Your wealth should bless lives. God is not blessing you for you to showoff your wealth but to genuinely lift men through the wealth you have at your disposal. The major reason God blesses you is that you should be a blessing to lives.

• To praise Him more
Deuteronomy 8:10
[10]When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

One of the reasons God blesses people is to make them praise Him more. He said to the Israelites that when they have eaten and they are full, they will bless the name of the Lord. Anytime you receive a blessing from the Lord, matter how small, bless the name of the Lord for it. It is destructive to be an ingrate.

Cultivate the habit of praising God whenever God releases His blessing to you. Anytime God releases His blessing to you, he expects thanksgiving from you.

It is an ungrateful act when you fail to praise Him for any little act of favour you enjoy from Him. Be thankful because this is also another reason God blesses people.

• To put your trust in God
1 Timothy 6:17
[17]Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Timothy was asked by Apostle Paul to charge the rich believers in Ephesus that; though they were rich but they should trust the Lord and not the wealth they had possessed.

Also, one of the reasons God blesses believers is to enable them trust the source(God) of the blessing. As you receive more from Him, you are to trust Him more. He’s expecting you to trust Him and that is why he has been blessing you.

Do not put your hope in the wealth you have amassed for yourself because it is uncertain. You’ll surely leave it behind when you die.

There are erroneous thoughts people have concerning debt and borrowing lifestyle. They hold the belief that it is impossible for one to do great projects except you borrow.

Additionally, they hold the belief that it is impossible to live a debt free life. In this article, I’ll address these nebulous irrational beliefs which have served as impetus for people to continually borrow.

IRRATIONAL THOUGHTS ON DEBT

• It is impossible to do great projects without borrowing

There are people who did great projects as recorded in the Bible without borrowing. Solomon built a temple and a palace for himself without borrowing a dime. The temple and palace were magnificently built and were made of gold.

There was no place in the Bible where it was recorded that Solomon borrowed money to build the palace and the temple. As a matter of fact, the men he hired from another country, he made sure he paid them.

It took King Solomon seven years for the completion of the temple he built for God(1Kings 6:38). While he spent thirteen years to finish the building of his palace(1 Kings 7:1).

Although, it took King Solomon many years before he could complete the great projects he started. The crux of the matter is; he completed them without running into debt. If you can wait for God to supply your needs you will definitely complete your projects debt-free.

Also, Abraham did great and mighty things in his days but he did not borrow any money to finance himself.

He was the one who begged the Hittites to collect money from him when he wanted to buy a burial site. They wanted to give him free-of-charge but he said no. Yet, he paid fully for the land(Gen 23:16-20).

I want you to remove that thought that is making you to run into debt every time you want to do great projects. You can start and complete great projects without borrowing a dime if you believe. Change your perspective about debt. Debt is not dignifying at all.

“The workmen were paid as when due. That livelihood was provided. One of the supervisors said the construction was providing employment for Nigerians at a time than anywhere as far as he knew because there was no project going on at this scale in the city at a point.”

He said the project was completed debt-free as they enjoyed supernatural supplies.

My friend, success is possible without running into debt. You can start that business without taking loans. You can survive and do great and mighty things without borrowing.

Only pray to God and look up to Him for help. Don’t rush when God hasn’t provide for you. Start the project and finish it as God is supplying your needs. Don’t be in haste because haste makes waste.

• It is impossible to survive without borrowing

In Nigeria, people have come up with the with this irrational belief that for anyone to survive, such person must be an ardent borrower. Let me tell you that this belief does not have its foundation in God’s Word because it is possible to survive without borrowing.

Respecting someone doesn't mean you shouldn't speak against him or oppose him when he does wrong or continuously does evil. This is the greatest undoing of Christian leaders (pastors) in Nigeria. Instead they welcome them with open hands into their congregations and dance around them like they are some gods. Imagine a pastor settling a rift between Atiku and Obasanjo when he should be criticizing them for being part of those keeping Nigeria in this mess of a system.

I never said leaders should not speak out. If you read the whole article there was a point I said we should also speak out against any practise that negates the Word of God as Peter did. We should obey God rather than men.

In my own country Nigeria, we are blessed with only few great leaders(politicians) who have the love of the masses at heart. Also, we also have politicians who are selfish, greedy, self-centered, callous and wicked.


I have watched people throwing acerbic punches at the leaders of my country and mercilessly insulting our politicians. Many people have seen this practise as a normal way of venting their anger to the extent that believers have joined them.


I want to show you in God’s Word, the five reasons you need to submit to politicians and also respect them. Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary defines a politician as one engaged in politics, especially an elected or appointed government official.

FIVE REASONS YOU NEED TO RESPECT POLITICIANS


• They are instituted by God
Romans 13:1
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.(NIV)

The first reason you need to respect politicians is that they are instituted by God. Those in position of power should be respected by their followers. It is not because they deserve to be respected but because it is God who appointed them. They are not there because they are worthy or perfect. They are there because God chose them in His mercy and put them in that position.

And whoever respects His representatives, honours God. Whoever disrespects His representatives, disrespects God. Let’s be careful of how we address our politicians. That’s just the bitter truth.

• For you not to bring judgement upon yourself
Romans 13:2
AMP:Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].

Those who resist established and instituted authority will bring judgement upon themselves. For instance, there are punishments meant for those who insult government representatives.

If you say what you are not expected to say to government officials, you can be arrested and jailed. That’s not God’s fault, it’s your fault because you have failed to heed God’s instruction. THREE WAYS TO RECOGNIZE USELESS FRIENDS
Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary defines a friend as a person other than a family member, spouse or lover whose company one enjoys and towards whom one feels affection. When we are mindful of the relationship we keep, success is not far from us. A wise man once said that I can predict your future through three things; the friends you keep, the books you read and what you spend most of your time doing. Your future can be glorious if you have glorious friends and your future can be awful if you keep abysmal relationship. The friends you keep can make of mar you.

Here is my list of how to recognize useless friends that you do not need in your life.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE USELESS FRIENDS
• They will not motivate you to do more
Proverbs 27:17
[17]Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Useless friends will not motivate you to work on yourself. If you move with people like this, hardly will you experience enduring success. For instance, If you are a voracious reader and your friend does not like reading, he will demotivate you and castigate you for reading too much. You don’t deserve any friend that will not sharpen you, that will not do something to make you move forward.

Truthfully, Any friend who makes you heart sink whenever you want to do any great project is not a friend you deserve to have. The truth is, this is not your best, you can do better than this because you still have more grounds to cover. But if you have a useless friends he will tell you that; ” That’s the best you can be”.

The friend you really deserve is a friend that will spur you into action, a friend who have zero tolerance for mediocrity and friend whose zeal for success propels you to take actions. Someone who doesn’t make you a better person financially, academically, morally and spiritually is not someone you need to treasure and walk with a the days of your life.

Therefore, your responsibility is to leave people who demotivate you and spend more time with the people that will make you a better person.

It was Daniel who motivated his friends so much so that they couldn’t defile themselves with royal food and wine(Dan 1:8-16). Daniel was the one who motivated his friends to plead for mercy in prayer so that God would reveal the dream Nebuchadnezzar had to them(Dan 2: 17-19). And God revealed the dream and interpretation to Daniel.

So, you should have friends who will make you fast more, pray more, read more, work more and seek God more. Be careful!

• Useless friends will not want you to be uplifted
Daniel 2:49
[49]Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

Daniel and his friends pleaded for mercy so that God would reveal the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar to them but God revealed it to Daniel. Daniel told the King the dream and interpretation. Daniel was made the entire ruler over the province of Babylon. Being a good friend, he remembered his friend, he requested that his friends also should be elevated and the King granted his request...... Truly, as vital and powerful the anointing of God is, there are certain things that the Lord’s anointing will not do for us. It is true that by the anointing yokes are broken and it is the anointing that empowers. Anointing is the presence of Holy Spirit in a believer’s life. This article is not written to present God’s anointing as ineffective and powerless. It is written so that we can rid ourselves of the erroneous teachings we have been taught concerning the anointing.

FIVE MAJOR THINGS GOD’S ANOINTING CANNOT DO;
• God’s Anointing will not make you immune to temptations;
After Jesus Christ had just finished fasting for forty days, and he returned with more power(anointing) from above, yet the tempter came to tempt him.

Matthew 4:2-3
[2]And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
[3]And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

So, temptation is part and parcel of life. No man can make himself immune to sin through anointing. You don’t say because you are powerfully anointed, no lady can tempt you with sex. Anointing will never blind your eyes from viewing beautiful ladies, big money and other attractive things. Despite the fact that you’re anointed by God, temptations are bound to come.

Never feel that temptation is the absence of God’s presence in your life. Anointing will never make you immune to temptation but will attract temptations. You will be tempted to steal. You will be tempted to tell lies. You will be tempted to preach false gospel. You will be tempted to sin.

When you need to flee, please flee. Anointing cannot send enticers away from you but you only need to apply wisdom. Every anointed man or woman of God will be hugely tempted by the devil. They are to be sober and vigilant so that the devil will not take advantage of their ignorance.

• Anointing will not automatically take you to heaven
Are you surprised? Many anointed men of God are in hell now while many will still join them. I’m not judgemental, I am just being factual.

Matthew 7:22
[22]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”

The people Jesus talked about here were believers who had the anointing to cast out demons and they did wonderful and mighty works for God. They are not those who could not perform miracles but those who performed great miracles. Yet, these people would be sent to hell. Why? They did not do the will of the father(Matt 7:21). What’s God’s will? The will of the father is that you avoid sin(1 These 4:3). So, anybody who has anointing but fails to do the Lord’s will, will end in hell.

Anointing is not an automatic ticket to heaven. Be careful! Anointing cannot take you to heaven. It is true salvation, sanctification and holiness that guarantee heaven.

The Greek word for “baptism” is “βαπτιζω”. The English letters look like this: “baptidzo.” The Greek word “baptidzo” literally means to “dip” or to “immerse”. Therefore, baptism can be defined as the act in which a Christian is immersed in water to symbolize the end of the old manner of living and a beginning of new life. Baptism can also be described as visible testimony of our commitment to Christ. This is the beginning of discipleship.

Baptism was first mentioned in Matthew 3:11;
“[11]I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”

In those days, John the Baptist would baptize people for the remission of sins and for repentance but after the establishment of the new Covenant due to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, baptism is now a Covenant to live as a disciple of Jesus. We don’t baptize people in order for their sins to be cleansed. Your sins are cleansed as you give your life to Christ but baptism is just the display of the acceptance of a new life in Christ Jesus.

WHO IS TO BE BAPTIZED?
The person who is expected to be baptized is someone who has given his/her life to Christ. You don’t get immersed in water before you accept Christ, rather you accept Christ as your Lord and saviour before you get baptized.

Acts 2:38
[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Peter expected them to repent first before they get baptized. That’s how baptism is to be done. Whoever is not saved should not to be baptized. Philip baptized the Ethiopian eunuch after he had received the gospel(Acts 8:35-39).

WHO IS TO BAPTIZE/IMMERSE BELIEVERS IN WATER?

Anybody that is saved and has been properly nurtured up in God’s Word can baptize a person who has just given his life to Jesus Christ. If you preach to someone and he has accepted Christ, you can baptize the person if he or she is ready. You do not necessarily need to be a Prophet, Bishop, Pastor or an Evangelist. Jesus said to believers concerning the great commission in Matthew 28:19 that; Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. This verse applies to all believers not to pastors alone.

SIGNIFICANCE OF BAPTISM

• Acceptance of our transition from death to life

Colossians 2:12
[12]Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

When you get baptized you have just died and risen with Christ and you are now dead to your old self.

It is not in the original plan of God for man to die in the prime of his days without fulfilling destiny. God's plan for you is that you should come to thy grave in a FULL AGE, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season(Job 5:26). His plan is 'full age' not 'young age.' However, there are certain things a man can do that will reduce the full age God has planned for him to live. Your days or age that has been ordained for you can be reduced by you and it can be increased by you. The decision is left for you to make; but choose the right path. The purpose of this article is to reveal to you, the acts that can reduce the full age which God has appointed for you. Let's go!

• DECEIT
"But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and DECEITFUL MEN SHALL NOT LIVE OUT HALF THEIR DAYS; but I will trust in thee." - Psalm 55:23.

Deceit cuts short the days of men. Deceitful people are bound to die early. When you see a man that is so cunning and deceptive, you have just seen a man who will not live long. Although, he may claim to be a Christian but his words are not trusted as he can deceive people and cheat them; such person will never live long. I'm not judgemental, I am only quoting God's Word. Deception will cut short his days. And for the fraudsters, thieves and supplanters, if they don't repent, their days are numbered because "as the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool."(Jeremiah 17:11). Avoid being deceptive because it is one of the things that cuts short people's life.

• WICKEDNESS
"Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?" - Ecc 7:17.
"The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: BUT THE YEARS OF THE WICKED SHALL BE SHORTENED." - Proverbs 10:27.

Can you see that? The years of the wicked shall be shortened. No matter the prayer a wicked person prays for long life his life will be cut short. The age appointed for him/her will be shortened, not by God but by his/her evil deeds. Wickedness is a waster of lives. It wastes glorious lives. Therefore, your responsibility is to do good and not be wicked. Do not carry out actions that are evil and destructive to others. Beware! Wickedness wastes one's life. Do you want to live long? Then, avoid evil and do good at all times.

Many times we fail to realize the fact that we need to keep some issues that have to do with us to ourselves as long as they are not harmful if they are not revealed. Truly, nothing is hidden before God but man is limited as he can only know what he is being told. There are certain people in your life that doesn’t deserve to hear the stories of your past, present and your future plans. If they know them, they will either use them against you, to abuse you, castigate you or knock you down. In this article I will be revealing them to you. Here is my list of those you should never reveal your confidential and covert issues(secrets) to:

• A day-old friend
It is an act of stupidity to reveal everything about you to a day-old-friend who you have not really known his temperament, character, beliefs and behaviour. To tell a person you just met today everything about you makes you vulnerable to that person to use your secrets against you. It is dangerous to reveal your past, present and future plans you have hidden to someone you have not deeply known. These people may look like a potential destiny helpers but they are not. Be careful! Read this;

“I have been told by the word of the Lord: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water there or return by the way you came.” The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’” (But he was lying to him.”- 1Kings 13: 16-18

That young prophet had just met that old prophet for the first time and maybe he thought he had met a good person who would help him. So, he revealed everything God told him to that old prophet and the man used his secret against him. Read the full passage for better understanding.

• A cunning person
There are some people who are as cunning as Delilah. The reason they have decided to be in a relationship with you is to know your secrets. They will utilize every little time they spend with you to ask you of your past, your present plans, how you have been thriving, future plans and so on but they will not tell you their own secrets. Judges 16:16 says and it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death.” Dinah kept asking for Samson’s secret, she got it and used it against him. Beware of those who ask you sensitive questions!

“When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and prayed. They all wept as they embraced him and kissed him. What grieved them most was his statement that they would never see his face again. Then they accompanied him to the ship.” – Acts 20:36-38.

In the above passage, tears flowed from the eyes of the believers at Ephesus. Paul had spent a considerable time with the Ephesian Church. The time the Apostle Paul spent with them was worthwhile and unforgettable. The impact the Word he spoke was mighty and immerse. The Ephesians could not believe he was going. He had had a memorable impact on believers in Ephesus to the extent that they did not want him to go at all. And that was why they all wept as they embraced Paul and kissed him because they heard they would have no opportunity to see the Apostle anymore. So people wept for a man who said they would not see eyes on him anymore! That’s great! What am I trying to bring out of this story?

What will be people’s reaction when you leave that organization? What will be people’s reaction when you leave that Church? What will be people’s reaction when you leave this earth? These are the pertinent questions everyone needs to ask and answer. If people jubilantly rejoice on hearing the news of your death, that means your existence on earth was harmful, worthless and dreadful.

There are people who are alive today and people are praying that they should die. Whereas, there are some people, even when they die people would wish God should resurrect them. They will pray earnestly for such great people to jack back to life. The people whose death can easily bring out tears from people’s eyes are those who do not live for themselves alone but those who live for people. They are those who made their lives count while on earth. They are selfless and the have the spirit of service towards humanity.

In so many ways, power can be abused. When we fail to use the power vested in us positively and when power is used negatively for personal gain, fame, and selfish ambition we have abused power. In so many African countries, there are leaders/rulers who know little or nothing about true leadership. These people see position of power as a position that provides opportunity to amass wealth, gain more property, increase their financial status and use power whichever way they like.

In 2013, Mexico’s Attorney General for Consumer Production shut down a restaurant based on a complaint from his daughter. She got upset because they did not seat her in the specific place which she wanted. So, a man shut down a whole restaurant because her daughter did not seat where she wanted sit. This is just a typical example of an abuse of power.

When you use your position to exploit people or take whatever is not yours, you have abused power. Using one’s position as a tool to claim another person’s property is an abuse of power. You are not in that position to mismanage people and resources.

Do not forget Judas, Jesus treasurer. Judas Iscariot used his position as a treasurer, who always had the money bag with him to steal money as he liked. He would steal and helped himself with what was put in the money bag(John 12:4-6). There are people like Judas today who are abusing the power conferred on them. They manipulate and falsify any documents anyhow because they have access to those documents. Are you not also abusing power? You know how Judas ended his life? That’s the end result of those who take delight in using their position to steal public fund.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”- Romans 16: 17-18.

In the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans, he wrote the above quoted admonition to the Church at Rome to mark those who would cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which they have learnt and also avoid them. The true teachings of the Apostles have been passed to the believers at Rome. He knew the devil would use some people to cause divisions in the Church at Rome. He knew some people would be deceived and swerved away from the true teachings of Christ which they have received. So, he told them to watch out!

There are men who burden the Church with offending notions, dividing and offending impositions and those who propagate erroneous teachings. These people will gain entrance into the Church and preach their so-called gospel. We need to be careful! We should not forget that the devil can also masquerade himself as an angel light. Be watchful!

What we need to note here is this, for any true teaching of Christ, there will always be a counterfeit. Anytime you hear the true teaching of God’s Word, the devil will also send some people to pollute your mind and make you deny true teaching that you have received with joy before. We must not just get excited about the truth we have found in God’s Word but we should purpose in our hearts never to leave the truth, for teaching that sounds nice and promising but contradicts the Scriptures.

CLAIM THE PRAYERS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY WITH AMEN.


“But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:19-20.

Joseph, whom his father loved dearly because he had given birth to him in his old age. He validated his love for him by making an ornamented robe for him. Also, Joseph would dream and would narrate his dreams to his brothers who he thought they loved him. He saw himself in his dream several times, leading his brothers and parents. He saw in his dream that he became great. The more he told his brethren, the more they hated him(Gen 37:. These and other reasons led to a decision they took against Joseph. In short, they sold him out to the Medianites.

Let me pray for you;

May those who hate you because of your visions and dreams harm themselves. The evil plan they have for you will not be executed. They said concerning Joseph, “Let’s kill him and see what becomes of his dreams.” Maybe they have been planning to kill or harm you because of your future, dream and vision, may their plans fail in Jesus name. May the Lord confuse the language of your enemies. May conflict arise in their midst.

The brothers of Joseph never knew they were helping him to fulfil his dream though they thought they were harming him. May the evil they have planned for you turn to good for you in Jesus name. That sudeen transfer they want to give you in your place of work will bring you prosperity, favour and expansion in Jesus name.

Joseph experienced so many things; from being a slave, pressure from Potiphar’s wife and to prison. Yet, his life never went off. He got to the place he had dreamt of. You will not die in that struggle! You will not die without fulfilling the plan of God for your life! You will not die while struggling to get to top! You’ll get to the top and the Lord shall prolong your days there!

As the Lord personally showed favour to Joseph, out of many brothers he had. I say to you, out of many people in your family’s house, may you be greater in Jesus name. May God divinely lift you beyond human comprehension in Jesus name!

The enemies of Joseph later bowed to him for help. May your foes bow to you. Those who have battered you, embarrassed you and worked against you will come back to seek your help. Joseph became the breadwinner of the family(Gen 50:21). You will not be the tail, you shall be the head at all times.

Your struggles and labour will not be in vain in Jesus name. Anything intended for evil to you will be turned to good by God in Jesus name. All things shall turn together for good for you this month in Jesus name. This is your month of breakthrough and sudden turnaround in Jesus name.


MY COUNSEL: Don’t be an evildoer and do not honour any invitation that demands your participation towards pulling someone down. It’s not worth it. You may find yourself helping the one you think you’re harming. Learn from Joseph’s story. This is your month of inexplicable turnaround in Jesus name. You shall jubilate in this month of July.

" And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them." – Numbers 20: 11-12.


Initially, God told Moses to speak to the rock, not to strike the rock. Moses struck the rock, yet water gushed out abundantly. The crux of the matter is that Moses didn’t do it in God’s way but he had result – water gushed out abundantly. Moses and Aaron were deceived by this. Maybe, they thought God did not care about how one bring out results while doing His work.


This is the erroneous thought many of us have concerning God’s work. Moses and Aaron didn’t escape God’s punishment for neglecting God’s clear instruction. This shows us that God does not get elated by the results we have but by the proper way we carry out his instructions while we want to get results. Lord, help me! Let me do your work in your own way!


Is God interested in believer’s success? Yes, but he’s more concerned with how believers succeed. It is so unbelievable that there are those who are not doing things in God’s way, yet they claim that they have results. They experience what men will tag as ‘miracles.’ They are easily deceived by he signs that followed their unscriptural acts. There are ministries who charge some people who come for deliverance. They tell them, you are going to pay so-so-so amount before our pastor prays for you. The surprising thing about this is that. That person will receive total deliverance.

As meaningless as some people see dreams, God has a way of passing His message and revelations to us through dreams. I established in my recent article on dreams that every dream has a message. Dreams are also regarded as night-vision. I want you to realize the fact that your attitude towards the dreams you have will dictate how and what you will benefit from your dreams. Joseph was confused, he could not fathom how Mary, his future wife who he had not had sex with became pregnant all of a sudden. He was befuddled and quietly resorted to a decision; the decision he resorted to was to divorce her privily. Many believers have seen fasting and prayer as an instrument that will force God to give them their heart desire. People fast for several reasons; some fast because they feel they must fast atleast once in a week(religion), some fast to display their spiritual capability and endowment to other believers who hardly fast and some believers fast in order to receive answers to their prayers by force. However, by the help of the Holy Spirit, I have come up with five wrong reasons for fasting. Take your seat and calmly read and digest this article.

FIVE WRONG REASONS FOR FASTING

• TO KILL THE DEVIL
I have heard of a believer who was observed a 40-day fast with the only aim of killing the devil. He said he believed by the end of his fasting and prayer the devil would died. Till today the devil has not died. Today, I believe there are some people who believe that the fervency of their fasting and prayer will kill the devil.....

Dreams are revelations granted to us when we are at sleep. The revelations can come from God, from the devil or as a result of our excessive labour. It is not every dream you have at night that is orchestrated by God and divinely given by God. However, we should not have non-challant attitude towards our dreams. Everything we see in our dream contains a message we may need or we may not need.

More so, It is imperative for us to consider the sources of dreams. Once the source of a thing is known it can be easily stopped, harnessed and properly channelled. Once you know the source of the nightmares you have been having, you will know what to do to stop it. Once you know the source of the powerful, accurate and definite revelations you have been having you will be able to get closed to the source.

SOURCES OF DREAMS;

• Holy Spirit

"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:" - Joel 2:28.
Joel who was inspired by the spirit of the Lord, prophesied about the outpouring of the Holy Ghost in the last days. He said one of the thing the Holy Spirit will enable you to have is dream. So, one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is dream. Holy Spirit is the senior revealer of secrets and the deep things of God through our dreams. When the Spirit of the Lord has been poured upon a person’s life, He will grant him dreams that are definite, instructive and edifying.
