They will soon age and wont have all the drive, passion and energy and will want to rely on younger people for physical, emotional and mental support...That is when they will wish there were grandkids to play with or son/daughter in-laws to sweat about or just some bloodlines to keep their names in the mouth of people ( even close by)....so they will just be packed away and forgotten...no grandchild to mention them as an inspiration during school award ceremony, no grandkids to pack to church or stroll down the neighborhood with....no teenage grandkids to remind them of their youthful times and puppy love....they will just fade and fade

If Tinubu wanted to takeover the northern political architecture, he wont use home grown northern politicians...Na those Lagos breed successful hausa men he go just pump with funds and power and get them to go home and participate in politics with his full backing. Before you know it he will retire many of these politicians holding the north back and replace them with progressive minded ones, but I dont think he is interested in that.

You are very unsmart. In these days of Internet you don't need so much effort to be popular especially when your popularity isn't about anything that requires so much intelligence...As for unknown scientists, I can bet that you don't even know 10 percent of the scientists who hold valid patents for most of the components of the phone that you are using to spew the nonsense you are spewing. Why should Dangote refinery be trying to force NNPC to be the sole buyer.

If Kenya wants to buy from Dangote, will the refinery refuse to sell to Kenya unless Kenyan government agrees to be the sole buyer of all petrol that the refinery produces for ever?

What kind of thing is this.

NNPC is also right to say it will not buy from the refinery if it can buy cheaper abroad.

Why should we pay more to buy petrol from a Nigerian producer if we can import it cheaper.

All of this despite the fact we are even selling crude to him in naira.
The answer is simple. His petrol doesnt seem to be cheaper than imported ones and except government buys it and sell to citizens while taking care of the difference

They are frustrating dangote , we have those crude in abundance why not supply dangote crude oil for free and he refine and sell like 80% of It directly to Nigerians for 50 naira per liter and export 20% and sell and keep the money to himself. Or export other products like AGO and the other by products and keep the profits. Things will be normal again
"We have crude for free" but we dont explore for free...Infact there is no state-owned company doing exploration, NNPC only has joint ventures with multinationals who give NNPC some crude as part of the partnership...Also a portion of the crude allotted to NNPC is already being used as repayment for loans taken by the previous administration....Also FGN cannot force the Multinationals to sell to Dangote or any other local refinery at rates lower than international best prices, neither can they even force them to sell in Naira...

It is decisions of many years crystalizing now.....we need to own the entire value chain as a nation

The country needs a major reset but we are not ready to face it.

Subsidy was removed, govt is facing maintenance of refineries, they even committed to November, govt resolved the issues with crude supply to local refineries. Govt is trying to boost production and remove a major import dependency item....this has led to serious hardship but rather than engage constructively like someone who sees and understands the end goal, we are here demanding that subsidy be returned that govt should continue to borrow to block a useless hole.

Currency was being defended with borrowed funds, some of the fund was even collaterised by future crude sales....govt decided to float it and block another corrupt hole ....that led to initial hardship but rather than engage constructively and genuinely....we are out here on the street destroying properties and asking govt to return things to the old ways that has bled us dry and made us paupers in a rich country....

Nothing good comes easy and stopping decade long bad practises will definitely come with short term pain....are we ready to endure as a nation?

It's time for revolution people, I will lead this protest from my side

We must send a clear message to these Machiavellians, megalomaniacs and wicked leaders we have in this country, enough is enough.
That spring brought down regimes but overall yielded nothing.

Egypt pushed out a dictator and conducted elections, the democratically elected party was the Muslim brotherhood which didn't align with the wishes and expectations of the world, so within a year the military was encouraged to cease power again...

In Libya, Gaddafi resisted and it led to his end, today Libya is a nation in turmoil, led by many rebel groups. Algeria and Tinisia had their share but what difference has happened since.

Syria resisted and we all know the story, war happened and ISIS rose up from the ashes...

I will always pick active participation in politics and forming a critical mass of good headed young people taking control at different stages of politics...protests and coups don't fit the fundamentals. And most times nothing changes just destruction and worse case the exchange of one bad leader with another

We don't consider south south as Igbos. You have your five states. We will vote a reasonable Igbo too at the right time ( definitely not the next election) if they seek alliance with us and if there is no better candidate.

We have voted everyone in Nigeria that we believe is good for the country at any point in time. ONLY IGBOS HAVE CONSIDERED THEMSELVES TO BE ENEMIES when we have nothing personal against them but that is their business.

Once again, you were the one that started by saying you wanted to pay back . I only reminded you that you have no such leverage. You never voted us anyway and we don't expect you to vote for us next election. INFACT, YOU HAVE REALLY OPENED THE EYES of Yorubas to tribalism over the attack on the tribe post 2023. You won't understand until 2027.

Nevertheless, this is politics. At the right time with the right candidate and with a mutual alliance, we will vote Igbo if needed.
You guys never got to the point where u were a significant challenger in an election where there is no significant interest on the part of yoruba people and we overlooked you to go northwards but surprisingly u guys have always gone northwards and even in 1999 when there was no northerner u still decided to pick the candidate that the North loved among the 2 yoruba contenders.

In 1979/83 you even overlooked your own Azikiwe to vote for Shagari. Same as when Ojukwu contested. I am 100 percent sure that if the Igbos present a sellable, formidable candidate in anelectiom year where yorubas have no serious dog in the fight. Yorubas will lovingly vote such a candidate especially if the Northern candidate is not deemed to be as competent as the igbo candidate but u guys, even in the face of competence, you will still vote a northern candidate.

You did it against Awolowo to vote Shagari...you did it against Abiola to vote for Tofa (3 out of the 4 eastern states in 1993 voted for Tofa).

The first and only time yorubas aligned with the North and left the opposition shadow to come mainstream was in 2015. But u guys have bn doing it since 1959 when Zik aligned with Balewa to form the central govt even when Awolowo was willing to work with Zik for both of them to get majority and form the central govt.

The Igbo-yoruba political alliance to identify and present a formidable and great candidate is crucial to Nigeria's growth, but it will likely never happen and the North knows how to play with that divide to perpetuate power. And if their candidate messes things up, by the time power comes back to the south they will scream about the problems on ground without talking about the root cause while the other half of the south aligns with them to get them back in power. That is the game for 2027 and u are about to be used again

The North, and by extension, Nigerians of all tribes and religions, are already resolute in their quest to see the end of this calamitous Tinubu regime come 2027. A regime that is now reputed to be the worst in the history of this country.

And the good thing about it is that no mutherfucker will preach southern unity to the people of southern Nigeria because they will be reminded that Tinubu and his allies worked against southern unity in 2015 when he ganged up against Goodluck Jonathan and truncated an opportunity for the south to have an unbroken eight-year tenure.

Nigerians of all tribes, ethnicity and religion now wants a regime that will put food on their table and make life more meaningful, not the one that takes away food from their table and improverished their lives.
You all dont learn. Buhari, a northerner got us here, Tinubu is only facing a deep mess that started in the Buhari regime, our currency collapse by almost 300% from 190 to 745. Yet these ones here will come back again, scatter things further and when it rotates back to the south, it will be another clamor to chase him out.

Reduce importation of consumables.... Those going everywhere in the world looking for what to import to Nigeria all in the name of doing business, should be encouraged to see the bigger picture and start producing at home... if they need to pool funds/merge businesses together to achieve this, them so be it...

All this importation of slippers, oil filter, tomato paste, fake China clothes etc and be doing big man while hurting the economy need to stop.

You are just contradicting yourself up and down.

At one breath you claim the presidential ticket of PDP wasn’t handed to Obasanjo, in another length you claim Yorubas and Northerners rallied round who they could trust.

What does “rallying round” mean if not handing over? Was the rallying round out of Obasanjo’s high politicking? No! It was based purely on the sentiments of the need for Southwest to be compensated for Abiola. So I don’t understand why you are running around.

And about NADECO, that’s the history of the group we are talking about, is it? I produced the link I referenced because we are talking about the origin of PDP and who had the higher stake of getting the party’s ticket at their convention.

Ekwueme was the leader of the group that later became PDP and would have had the presidential ticket for of the party handed to him before the military stepped in.

Ekwueme was betrayed for Obasanjo.

It’s only comparable to a situation where Buhari would have stepped in before the APC convention and direct the party structure to work for Nwajiuba in 2022 when we knew that if the contest is left open, Tinubu will defeat Nwajiuba which is what eventually happened.
Na everything be betrayal to una. People make choices based on whatever appeals to them but to you is betrayal maybe it is the people that voted for Ekwueme in the primaries that actually betrayed Obasanjo and the people that voted against Falae including Igbos are actually the ones that betrayed yoruba people cos you define betrayal based on your own personal expectation without thinking deeply that everyone has a choice and they have the right to make it and if their decisions don't favor you then you look inwards and create the sentiment/character/coalition that will make them decide for you next time. Why did the sentiment for a yorubaman to be president in 1999 High enough to get northerners and generals in the army to support it? Was it not because yorubas stood up and fought bravely against the injustice metted against one of their own in the person of Abiola!....and by fighting I don't mean confronting well armed military men with shakabula but by leveraging their other strength through the pen and international coalition to surface the evil metted upon them by the military.

The question to you is how are the Igbos addressing the injustice metted to one of them in person of Peter Obi by the PDP who the region served for 2 decades only to deny one of their own access to the platform to contest election thus forcing him to a lesser known party which he had to bootstrap in few months. How are you addressing the Igno delegates who still collected money from Atiku and voted for him in the primaries rather than boycott it in protest. Did you see what the yorubas did for AD in 1999, do you think Falae had any money to give anyone at that time versus a military-backed Obasanjo yet the later couldn't even win his local govt. How resolute and determined are the Igbos to queue behind one voice and use their individual strength, wealth, knowledge etc to win the presidency to themselves rather than allow individualism and greed to prevail. Na to dey fight for share in APC where you contributed little rather than going back home to restrategise and speak loudly with one voice and let the nation know you are ready and serious and this is no longer about money or personal greedy ambition but winning for the region

You dared to accuse me of naivety but you are the one who is actually pathetically naive and innocent of history.

Do you know the group called G-18?

Do you know the ones called G-34?

They are a group of 18 like minded Nigerians that came together in 1997 and decided to dare the military regime of Sani Abacha of then. From 18 they later became 34.

That group was led Dr Alex Ekwueme. As of this time, Obasanjo was still in prison and was not part of them.

This Group of 34 (G-34) later became the founding fathers of PDP. And when they scheduled their convention in 1998, they were going to ‘hand’ the party’s presidential ticket to their leader, Alex Ekwueme, until the military mafia threw up the Obasanjo joker and used money to buy the ticket for Obasanjo in Jos. Remember that Obasanjo was an outsider to the group that founded the party.

So, when I talk about political capital of the Yoruba in PDP when they were handed the presidential ticket in 1999, you keep shut and listen and learn.

Educate yourself further below
https://www.nairaland.com/4620973/see-pdp-founders-history-party
Of all the groups that actively fought the military regime, Nadeco was the most active.

Most of those killed or exiled during Abacja regime were not Igbos and even the Obasanjo you referenced was in jail for trying to "topple" the same military regime along with Yaradua, despite this, the average yoruba man at the time still didn't see Obasanjo as bn active enough in the struggle. The Igbos were known to be very very passive in that struggle with most of them citing the outcome of the June 12 riots affecting their business as the reason for being passive. All this village gist And lies should stop. It us the same way some of you will claim to have supported Abiola whereas 3 our of the 4 existing Igbo states at the time voted for Tofa!

As for Ekwueme, he properly Participated in the primaries and even got over 509 votes to lose in the primaries. In your naivety you believe they actually hand over presidential ticket to people? Especially that of a party with prospect like PDP? No they don't, politicians align around the sentiments that pays them the military at the time and Northern politicians knew that Abiola's people the yorubas needed to be compensated and those in PDP aligned behind the candidate they could trust which is OBJ, Ekwueme never backed out or dropped his ambition to support OBJ, he tested his popularity at the primaries and lost!

Now as for the yoruba race at that time , we didn't even give 2 about PDP. We knew our genuine heroes in the struggle, we knew the core figures that have bn there since the Awo days and we rallied round them in our own party AD and merged with northern friends who were sympathetic to the course in APP to produce a joint ticket...Olu Falae was our choice hence OBJ couldn't even win his local govt. So other Nigerians picked him against the will of Yorubas and made him president in a process that the Igbos equally have a shot and lost!
