femisplash:I think you are actually the one that has akpu for a brain here. The law was there before the election took place. Its clearly stated. If we are in a saner clime,Tinubu would not have been declared the winer of that election .A lot of things are wrong in that declaration. |

Hurray!! It's our centenary celebration.Methodist college uzuakoli is one of the foremost schools in Nigeria. The alma mater of many great personalities like the former nddc chairman Onyema Ugochukwu, prof Anezi Okoro(author of one week one trouble),former prelate of the Methodist church Nigeria Sunday Nbang and many other personalities. A college built by Methodist missionaries who were given a hitherto evil forest but rather than run away, they developed it to what is now known as Methodist college uzuakoli. The school sits on a large expanse of land and has every facility a college can muster. The chapel (I often call ancient and modern) can compete with any cathedral in the world. The laboratories while we were there had the best of equipments and the sports facilities top notch.I remember the big football pitch, the hockey field which we sometimes play football on,the volleyball field near the refectory and the field in front of the castle. The castle housing four different houses, all connected to one another is a masterpiece. This building raised sometime in 1923 can compete with any modern building today.Strong as gibralter and still glowing. I have this feeling of nostalgia when I remember obioha, extension and azi. Azi is the name of a stream. This stream is the purest water I have ever tasted and always as cold as an ice, hence AZI. There is another wonder stream in the college..hot and cold. These are two different streams that joint together at some point. One of the streams is always hotter than the other, hence the name. The school we were told also houses the Ojukwu bunker. This is where the Biafran warlord takes a nap at the heat of the war. It will really be a delight to reconnect with old friends again at the centenary.Friends likeOkey Ezeala, ikechukwu Nnochiri,Uzoma Obialor,Kanu Collins, Sunday Nwakanma and lots of others. Ala okpoo ..here we come. |
femisplash:Some of you are just Reno omokri wannabe. At a time you said he killed biafrans and threw them inside the river and at another time you will say he can't fight secessionists. Say whatever you like,Obi is better than others. Be Obidient.Vite wisely.Vote peter obi for president |
Okealaaye:And shetima has become your go to man. You guys are not just serious in this country. |
BATified2023:Some of you are just sen.seless.What exactly do want to achieve with this? |
Trust me, Pandora Peter OBItuary will come back crawling on his knees for vice president post after his humiliation and unfettered disgrace even in his own Anambra state[/quote]If anyone calls your preferred candidate any derogatory name, you will turn to a preacher telling us how igbos are insulting. Here you are calling someone else's preferred candidate names |
Moferere:you guys say some of these things and we stand hands akimbo watching the level of hatred and hypocrisy in you.presidency is not given,it is taken...bla bla bla bla...yet you lots are saying zone it to the south. If you say the north has been for eight years and it's the turn of the south, can you not extend that argument and say that the southwest and South south have been there and it's the turn of the southeast. |
Obi should take his campaign to the north. He should also align with the pdp governors from the south.I have a feeling he stands a chance if he wins the primaries and chooses a grassroot politician from the north as his vice. He actually stands out when you compare him with other aspirants both from his party and other parties. |
This is a good read. From your analysis, the number 9 shirt is not entirely cursed barring the time it was worn by some players like falcao and a couple of others. |
Truth is that Enyimba need to sack that coach. That team is full of quality but they still play without a clear-cut direction.Enyimba is bigger than fatai osho |
Again I ran into them. Today. These men on light brown on red. In truth, they are the Lagos police on the road. They are to control traffic originally. That was actually their job's specification. Or it's what we were meant to believe. But I suffered today in their hands. For the lightest of offences. My Monday was rubbished almost beyond repair. In the hands of these 'demi gods'. In the process I was exposed to broad day bribery . I saw first hand how 'these things' work in my country. I equally saw how language can make a difference. Nepotism if you wish. This is my story and experience today. Lagos! They showed me no mercy. I had driven from Ajah towards CMS with a friend. He had told me he would alight at CMS on top of the bridge inward costain. It was all smooth until we approached the bridge Knowing their antics,I applied my break to ask whether my friend can actually alight there seeing the yellow buses dropping off their passengers. Two shabbily dressed and dangerously looking men hopped into the car in a manner you will want to agree they were perfectly trained for it. I innocently asked them 'please can my friend alight here?he is going to the market.' They smiled and disengaged my gear. I have been arrested for wrong parking. I said 'I have only slowed down to inquire from you whether he can alight as the yellow buses are dropping off their passengers' They won't take it from me again. The female among them standing by the roadside and obviously working with them started taking snap shots of my vehicle. I was ordered to stay at the passenger's side. I obeyed and the journey started. In 20minutes we are at a garage at Sura . Call it a Dane if you wish. I saw young Nigerians being robbed of their monies. Many of them Uber drivers. Within my one hour stay, more than 30 cars have been discharged and more than 40 cars impounded. As any car leaves,I was probing to know each person's offence and how much that got him off the hook. Wrong parking, dropping off where yellow buses are doing so, picking a passenger from Infront of her house etc. They threaten to issue a ticket of 50k to be paid in bank in honour of the state government. Of course, most people prefer to pay bribes The lowest I heard was 10k. They kept collecting it and kept bringing in more vehicles. I cringed. I wept. I kept my cool. There is this young man who said he would not pay a dime. He begged and begged and begged in Yoruba language. I kept watching. Few minutes latter,he drove out. And I asked. 'How did it happened' Egbon has shown mercy. I waited for some time. And approached him(Egbon). He swore to issue me a ticket. Should I come close to him again. I don't have a good mastery of the Yoruba language but I tried. It never worked . I sighted one of them with three stars. I approached him with my story. He listened with rapt attention. Invited the officer that arrested me and probed to know whether my story was concocted. It was not. He ordered that I leave with my car. On my way I thought of the humongous amount these guys make here everyday. From private car owners. Uber and bolt drivers. I asked. 'Who do they render account to?' Lagos! Nigeria! |
He came to my house This my friend of over two decades We have been talking and chatting on phone Today he came Always promised that he will come to the mainland Never ever made it I was surprised that he did, today Amidst the tight traffic situation on the third mainland bridge Something tells me he really needs something from me I asked him jokingly why today of all those days, weeks, months and years of promises He said nothing Though not convincing I played along I presented a red wine and and potato chips to him He blessed me and we started relieving events of yester years. Amina is still the same Tall, dark with baritone voice When he shouts, you fear it's thunder that struck He has the mien of a chief executive of a multi billion naira firm Smart and unassuming He played games while we were in school This game we called ' chick pick' He can have two ladies per night for the rest of the week That's how masterful he was those days In that game Amina can sleep with two ladies a night to the exam and yet scores an 'A' Grace you may call it He is that smart After service,he was that smart to have a job with one of the multinational firms He rose, rose and rose Now he is a regional manager Money to a reasonable extent is not the problem But he has a problem That's why he is in my neighborhood In my house,to be precise. A problem he wants to share with me May be I can help. His wife He is no longer comfortable I laughed Because I know Amina and women He never comes last "My wife is a wicked soul.i never prayed to have this kind of woman in my life. You know me nah.if to say na friendship,we no go de here de talk about that woman. This marriage thing tire me' What happened? I enquired ' since this lady held me to marry her,it has been one issue or another.firstly he rained abuses on my younger brother who has been staying with me and the guy left.My younger brother who even convinced me to marry her.He even cursed him wearing nothing.I told my mother, she said I should bring a man of God to pray for my brother and forgive her since she has been remorseful.I did and my brother has moved on.' Jesus!I exclaimed. 'Now this lady abuses at the slightest provocation.Doesnt care but wants to be cared for.So selfish and practically impossible to stay with.If it's not paying her,let no one do it.That appears to be her philosophy.see brother..I'm tired.I hate dating another lady as a married man but it appears to be my only option at the moment. This is not marriage.I have touted divorce but the kids might be at the recieving end.I honestly fear for my life.At my old age,I can guarantee you that that lady won't care since she doesn't care now.I don't know how I got my self here. Hathor5:Bros I have got very many things to do than sitting down and making up stories.I have since called him and adviced based on some points that some people have made here. Its his choice to follow that advice or not.The home is his own. |
ZIMDRILL: Hathor5:She works with a financial institution. They have a maid that does everything in the house except cooking what the guy eats as he stated he is not ready to eat what the maid cooks. |
So I met my childhood friend yesterday at lekki. He is still the elegant young man he has always been. We spoke at length. Nothing much has changed about him. He is still very enthusiastic about life. An Engineer who after working with a firm is now on his own. Things are not very rosy but he can still hold his own. We started talking about family since we all are married abielt for few years. Here is the gist..... He is contemplating having a girlfriend. His wife hardly have sex with him. Sometimes it takes 2 months for them to make love once. Nothing appears to be the problem other than the wife complaints of tiredness and not being in the mood for almost every time. They have two kids(twins). He had come to tell me to either approve or disapprove his strong intention of keeping a lady by the side since he can afford it comfortably. I felt for him. I disuaded him though I know how it feels to stay without sex with your wife under the same roof for months. You pay all the bills yet you don't eat from the goody bag to your test. Since yesterday, I have been a little worried for him. I do not know whether to call him and advise him to go ahead with his plan but try and be careful. It's a dicey situation especially when the wife is not ready to change. |
