But the key thing you've pointed out is that level of wastage and corruption which is key to any successful blue print. Her Plans, if you ask me are very ok. But without addressing corruption it will surely fail (She did admit to that too).

The best way to reduce corruption is to deter people from engaging in corrupt acts. but how do you deter people? If i know that if caught in any corrupt act there is a 70-100% of my being imprisoned or executed, then there is a 70-100% chance that i will not engage in that act.
Now it takes a stout & sincere police force, judicary and ant-crime agencies (EFCC, ICPC etc) to impose such deterent fears.
But look at these bodies as we have them today, will the civil societies going on strike make them change from being lame ducks too? May be yes - but also most probably NO. It will take the determination of Mr president to adopt both legal and illegal means to rid the corrupt people, which is a very difficult thing to do in a democracy. If the powerful clique he intends to fight lobies a higher number of the house of assembly men he will be impeached. So what can he do? Still go ahead bribe all the HA members (illegal but ok), ensure all the people that are really indicted, whether by court or panel, are imprisoned or executed (the panel must be trusted by president). If 70% of indicted corrupt people are jailed or executed, believe me people will serve as public servants with FEAR. Jerry Rawlings did it in Ghana and they are reaping the fruits today.
If the president cannot summon the gut to do this in a democratic setting then a military dictator should takeover and do it. Yes another illegal government but we must have been left with no other options except doing it the Arab way, violent revolutions!!! (Could spill more blood than any of the above,

U need to spend only one day within d presidency for u to realise that's where corruption starts from.Huge sums of money is being spent daily on mundane things and this is a trigger.Politicians see this and follow suit.Too much money in d polity being embezelled starts from d top and trickles down hence it will be difficult for a leader who can set examples by cutting down spending at d top to emerge.Only then will he have d justification to effectively tackle corruption

STEP 1- TACKLE CORRUPTION SINCERELY
STEP 2- BUILD ADEQUATE REFINERIES
STEP 3- REMOVE FUEL SUBSIDY

Without going thru these phases,things will get even worse.There will only be more money for the politicians and jobbers to loot.
A liter of fuel sells for about =N=5 in venezuela because they have their refineries.If Nigeria has adequate refineries,a liter of fuel should go for less than 20(even with enough profit made by vendors).Then we would not mind paying fully after the subsidy is removed.

Those defending IBB must have been born less than 25 years back and cannot appreciate d damage this fellow did to Nigeria.From confirmed sources this man even killed Abacha(through Abacha's former girlfriend,abacha did not die in d hands of prostitutes as we r being made to believe) and Abiola(thru Abdusalami Abubakar) just to pave his way back to Aso rock.A man that can kill his best man for no reason is WICKED and shud be wished DEATH.The worst part is he has never been repentant or remorseful.

This is too much astronomy study at work.I've been there before.
What u have to do is study the Bible side by side History,astronomy,physics,geology and the present then u ll know that there is a GOD.
The problem is GOD is too Great for u to fathom.So don't try to measure him by the solar system or nature.The mere fact u mentioned that our solar system if removed from the universe will make no difference is a pointer to our MIGHTY our GOD is.There will possibly be life elsewhere in the univverse where we can never reach no matter how advanced we become.

Hi all. My fiancee is a graduate but she prefers going into catering business (starting with baking before expanding fully).

I don't mind the idea as I know its good to be self-sufficient instead of relying on an employer.

More money for the oil companies, take a case of one of the oil companies exploring 1 billion barrels of oil per annum.if a barrel goes for $100 that's a $100billion(might be more or less) for that company.if Shell,agip,chevron,total,Mobil etc make so much money from our land and the little left for nigeria is embezzled then what's the common man's gain?
