This is the actual ADR I got. I’m worried about the proof of income etc. I provided all these documents when I submitted except the tax slips. I’m a bit unsure why they’re asking again
MayorOfEdmonton:
Yes you should unfreeze it.
Someone here had same ADR a while back.
‘Unfreeze’ it and show the paper trail from when the gift was deposited =>FD=> back in accessible savings account and highlight it in your statement of account. + a new bank reference letter.
U can add a short LoE to provide clarity. e.g I received gift deed on xx/xx/2025 and to ensure the funds is exclusively for settling in Canada I invested in FD on xx/xx/2025. I liquidated the investment on xx/xx/2026 and the said fund is now accessible in my savings account with XYZ bank ltd blah blah blah.
All the best!!

Hello all, I got an ADR today asking for my proof of funds “Please provide updated and pertinent documentation issued by a financial
institution supporting your Proof of Settlement funds, including bank statements for the last 6
months for ALL of your bank accounts. Please note all funds must be liquid and immediately
accessible”

So I had it in fixed deposit in my account the whole time. It was a gift deed from my dad. Should I unfreeze it? That’s what they mean by liquid and immediately accessible right?

I don’t have a cert and I used the 41220 NOC. Can I retry this please

yingman:
You can use your teaching experience, but you must choose the correct NOC.
IRCC checks duties, yes, but for regulated jobs like secondary school teacher (NOC 41220), officers also look at the NOC’s employment requirements. That is why the person in the screenshot was refused, they claimed a teacher NOC that requires a B.Ed or teaching licence.

If you don’t have a teaching qualification, don’t use NOC 41220.
Use a different teaching-related NOC that does not require a teaching certificate, such as teacher assistant (NOC 43100). That one is acceptable without B.Ed and you can still use it for Express Entry.

Teaching (NOC 41220 / 41221) is a regulated occupation in Canada.

The NOC profile says:

“Employment requirements: Teachers of academic subjects require a bachelor’s degree in education OR a bachelor’s degree in the arts or sciences.”

This is EXACTLY the section shown in the screenshot of the rejection letter.

This means the visa officer can question your experience if you do not hold the minimum educational requirement listed in the NOC.

This is why the person in the screenshot was refused.

Hi all, I’m a bit worried cos I went through the chats here. I’m a lawyer by education but not practicing (I haven’t been able to get a job). I have been working as an economics teacher for about 3 years now in a secondary school and I applied for PR. I got ITA and I have submitted my application and waiting for eligibility. I read here that applicants without Education degrees won’t be eligible and as such the NOC should be teaching assistant the rather than teacher? Pls how true is this? And if true, can I rectify this by asking for a change of NOC?

Okay will do that this week. Thank you

Mee346:
9Since the application has already been submitted, your options are somewhat limited — but there are steps you could take before IRCC re-checks funds:

Add more funds to the account now, to re-establish a comfortable buffer above the minimum. If possible, top up the account so that — even with further exchange-rate swings — the CAD equivalent remains safely above the threshold.

Obtain an updated official bank letter showing the new balance (after topping up). When you deposit extra funds, ask your bank to issue a letter on letterhead showing your account balance (and ideally 6-month average, if required).

Submit a webform or update your Express Entry profile with the updated bank letter/POF documentation once you have it, to show you maintain sufficient funds. According to advisor guidance, that’s allowed if there is a “material change” in funds.

Maintain the funds until landing — because IRCC requires that the funds be available not just at application submission, but at the time they grant you PR or when you arrive in Canada.

Hi everyone, I submitted a PR application for my younger brother last month. His POF was just about 100-200cad or so above the required POF. I checked the exchange rate today and it’s now about 50cad less than required POF. The POF is fixed with an interest rate of 11.5 percent. I’m abit worried that the fluctuating rates will affect his application. I realize we should have put like a 1000cad difference as at time of application. Please how can we rectify this?

Hello all,

So my younger brother got ITA for the education stream. He is a lawyer but has never practiced cos he never got a job since he graduated. He was posted to a town in Ogun state for his NYSC and made to teach so afterwards, he got a teaching job in a private school. We have proof and all the pay slips as far back as January 2024 to prove this. What we’re worried about is IRCC…will there be an issue that a lawyer without a B.Ed degree is teaching? He taught history during NYSC and teaching economics now. The proprietor is willing to write letters to support this but we just wanted to be sure it won’t be an issue with IRCC. Thank you

Thank you for responding. I’ll add it now and hopefully we get ITA
amnotapervert:
Yes, he can use the teaching experience for his Canada immigration profile, even without an education degree — as long as the job was paid and full-time, and his duties match an eligible NOC.

He may not qualify under the “Secondary School Teacher” NOC (41220) since that usually requires a degree in education. But he might qualify under “Teacher Assistant” (NOC 43100) or another similar NOC, depending on what exactly he does at the school.

correct me if I am wrong but yes Law degree is a social science so with 43100 - Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants he is good

He should be in the pool and hope he gets called all the best

Hi everyone,

I’m asking this question on behalf of my younger bro. He is a lawyer but is presently teaching History in a secondary school because he has not been able to find a good job. Is it possible for him to use this for IRCC without an education degree? He has evaluated the law degree, written ietls (L:9, R:8, W:7, S: 7.5)

Thank you
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 8:03pm On Aug 03, 2024
Hello all,
I am posting this on behalf of my colleague. She applied for PR through CEC 4 months ago. Two days ago IRCC requested that she resends her family history. She is scared that they specifically asked for that and opened up to me about her fear.
1.Her mom and her dad are separated so she never included her dad in her application; the family history section
2. Her older sister is married and has a diff surname so she's worried that maybe they are wondering why her surname is diff
3. She included someone who her mom adopted(not on paper but has lived with them since they were kids) as her half sister on her application but she has another surname as well (unmarried)....

So she is worried about how to address all of these specifically No. 3 since there is no paper evidence of the adoption. She is considering not adding her to the new documentation but worried IRCC might ask why she included her in the first place. What do you guys suggest please, should she remove her or leave it and provide some sort of explanation? Thank you
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 4:30pm On Feb 26, 2024
Okay Thank you. I understand.
GraciousWords:
Sample of ITA letter below. If her's doesn't say CEC, then that's where valid job offer comes in (as I understand it).

I have to admit to not understanding the valid job offer definition well. It's not 100% clear to me if an LMIA is needed or not (I thought it was but I'm not certain). Maybe others can help or check Canadavisa or ask a registered consultant.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 11:39pm On Feb 24, 2024
Oh I understand. She got invited under the FSW category, but healthcare draw. So are you saying she cant use her pay stubs here only as POF cos its not CEC? Thank you
GraciousWords:
I think 73O9 is trying to highlight this:

Her ITA letter should have the stream she was invited on. The draw may have been CBD for healthcare or agric etc, but her stream will always be either FSW, CEC or FST. If she was invited as CEC, she's cool.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 3:28pm On Feb 22, 2024
Yes she stated canadian experience in her profile. Yes it is the healthcare category not CEC
73O9:
Do note she bolded two things which are Canadian experience and offer letter.
Your friend was invited through health not CEC, meanwhile the offer letter is for CEC. Or did she also state Canadian experience in her profile?
I might be wrong but look through that opinion too.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 12:31am On Feb 22, 2024
Her job offer is valid so I think she's good then. Thank you
GraciousWords:
You do not have to meet the funds requirement if you were invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class.

The system currently asks all applicants to provide a proof of funds document. If you don’t need to provide proof of funds, you must upload a letter explaining either that you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, or that you have a valid job offer.

Source: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1145&top=29

What is a valid job offer? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

This valid job offer matter....can anyone explain it in normal english?

Hi all, asking this question on behalf of my friend. She is a registered nurse in Canada and got ITA for the last healthcare category. She has a job here and she is wondering if she can just use her pay stubs, offer letter as POF instead of the minimum pof required. Thank you

No you don’t need a transit visa. Check PPR stories on the Canadian student thread, most people go through Amsterdam or Paris.

Hi guys

So I just got an ADR pertaining to my application. I’m a bit confused tho. I have no clue what the second request is and the first one says to sign the schedule A in an original signature. Does that mean I have to print out the form to sign it then scan it back ? Thank you in anticipation of your responses

Hi all, thanks for all you do. I’m asking this question on behalf of a friend’s brother. He wants to start his PR process and I told him he only needs to evaluate his highest degree which is his masters (from the UK)…..his bsc is from Nigeria. Just wanted to confirm I’m giving the right info?

No. A permanent resident visa will be issued to you. Your trv becomes void
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 10:21pm On Apr 03, 2023
Oh great! So peradventure I get the PPR before I leave Nigeria, I can enter Canada with my TRV right?
aestake:
PRTD is for permanent residents who don't have or card when they traveled. So they apply for that in order to be allowed reentry to Canada. Not for someone who is waiting or getting PPR outside Canada.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 3:13pm On Apr 03, 2023
Hi again, I’m back with another question lol.
So I’m on work permit in Canada with a TRV that expires in 2025. However I had to travel to Nigeria for an emergency and I’m still going to be here till late April or early May. With the way PR applications are fast these days, if mine is approved before I leave for Canada, someone said I’ll need a PRTD to enter Canada again as my TRV will be useless and I need to apply for the PRTD. Note: I applied for PR outside Canada(2 weeks after I travelled to Nigeria to be specific). Please does anyone know anything about this?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 4:58pm On Mar 29, 2023
Lol no it’s not misrepresentation. My job was a position created for covid so the job title wasn’t there but I was able to fit it into something similar and I got a legit letter from my employer. I was just trying to think of a worse case scenario that’s all. Thank you tho
leopardinatree:
Why should it be deducted is the question. You are giving us half-baked information. Perhaps you could explain a little more so we could be more helpful…but at face value I’m thinking 496 is still above 489 so you are safe so long as you steer clear of misrepresentation.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Tvickie(f): 9:50am On Mar 29, 2023
Hello everyone. I have submitted my application and awaiting a response from IRCc. However I have some concerns about my Canadian work experience so I was wondering what happens if the 35 points I claimed for it was deducted by the VO, will I still be eligible as my total score is still above the draw cut off that day. I’ve attached pictures to provide more clarity. 489 was the cut off

I’m trying to qualify for CEC. Based on what I read, Noc C doesn’t qualify for CEC which is customer service. That’s why I’m trying to see if it fits into administrative roles
Zeewirld:
... It's more of a customer service role.In short,a significant number of the JDs quoted supports customer services roles. What exactly is your proposed NOCs and real JD?
