HealthRe: Onitsha Ranked As The Most Polluted City In The World By WHO by Twistaray(m):
Kennydoc:
Why are you finding it difficult to understand simple things? The rating was done simply based on particulate matter in the air, PM10. It's not about dirtiness, cos Riyadh the Capital of Saudi Arabia isn't dirtier than Ibadan, Abeokuta or Osogbo.
Even if Onitsha is very dirty, you will agree with me that this rating would change if the analysis is only based on environmental hygiene.
Hope you've read the UN article about about south east being the safest place to live in Nigeria?
Safe in what aspect? Maybe you want to specify that?

You don't seem to understand the points i was trying to make at all.

As it stands the report can be liken to facts until it proven otherwise.
Ever asked why the reporter/anylist had nothing to say about lagos, osun, ekiti et Al despite the fact that he had to travel/drive all the way from lagos down to Onitsha.
So the question is,why Onitsha and Aba of all state in the federation?

Well, as for whatever measure or logic you chose to apply the point here is, is Onitsha the only state in the whole of SE/nigeria?
And why other measure would W.H.O have used to measure and conclude that Onitsha is the most? Polluted? State-as a result of unfriendly environment also know as polluted/pollution "?
HealthRe: Onitsha Ranked As The Most Polluted City In The World By WHO by Twistaray(m): 9:30pm On May 13, 2016
Kennydoc:
You don't understand. Onitsha was rated high only based on PM10 which simply talks about particulate matter in the air. The rating wasn't based on household waste and sewage. The report didn't say Onitsha had the highest release of household wastes and sewage in Nigeria. Such a study that would analyse that hasn't been done. They only stated all those to add 'flesh' to the study, but we have earlier been told that it was a measure of particulate matter in the air that put Onitsha as number 1.
Is my point so difficult to understand?
What else would W.H.O have used to measure pollution, unfriendly/chaotic environment ?
Listen, you don't expect a whole W.H.O to use the word " the most dirties" city do you?

Like I wrote easier on unfriendly or dirty environment is not often refer to as dirty but polluted.
HealthRe: Onitsha Ranked As The Most Polluted City In The World By WHO by Twistaray(m): 8:39pm On May 13, 2016
Kennydoc:
So what about the point in bold shows that Onitsha is dirty? It was solely on account of the PM10 that Onitsha was ranked the most polluted, not the dirtiest. Those points you highlighted were just made to buttress their point about the pollution in Onitsha.
Maybe you should check your dictionary for the meaning of the word " Polluted".
Here Is part of the bolded , provided "and household waste and sewage.

I understand that this is hard for you to swallow but, what can we do to amend these?
Too late bro undecided

Most backward in what sense please? Show me any article that denotes the backwardness of the south east as compared to the other geopolitical zones with regards to Health, Education, Social services and overall standard of living.

Meanwhile, look at this link:
https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment

You clearly lack comprehension skills. It's a big pity. Read the report again, bigot!

Put your brain to use. The report didn't talk about dirtiness. Umuahia isn't dirtier than Lagos.
Even Riyadh isn't dirtier than Lagos or Ibadan.

The report has nothing to do with development. Okene (Kogi State) for example isn't on the list, but we know it is far less developed than Onitsha. What about Riyadh the Capital City of Saudi Arabic which is the 6th on the list. Is it also less developed than Osogbo?

Use your eyes. They are not there for decoration. Your brain is for reasoning. Use it.

This one go school so? Don't you understand the difference between air pollution and dirtiness? Do you lack comprehension skills?
He's even impersonating Igbos on this forum with his fake Igbo moniker, and couldn't even wait to revert back to his original moniker before releasing the venoms. Shame!
Of late, many shameless beings have been using Igbo monikers to insult Igbos on this forum. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Cc Ebukaobi, VivianUdeogu, etc.

Don't mind them. They are too blind and dumb to understand what the study was all about.

Nobody is even considering the fact that Onitsha is a major gateway to the entire south east, therefore most of the vehicles coming into the south east especially from the Lagos and other parts of the south west must enter and exit the south east through Onitsha.
Why won't Onitsha be that polluted considering how small it is in size compared to the activities going on in it?
grin Oh really?
Even without the facts up there we all know that Aba and Onitsha are both filled with filths.

A recent study of Onitsha’s water pollution found more than 100 petrol stations in the city, often selling low-quality fuel, dozens of unregulated rubbish dumps, major fuel spills and high levels of arsenic, mercury, lead, copper and iron in its water. The city’s many metal industries, private hospitals and workshops were all said to be heavy polluters emitting chemical, hospital and household waste and sewage.

Read again abeg and until a contrary report is ssay otherwise the one above remains.

The SW does well in both statistical data and is probably the region that is trying the hardest to reduce its dependence of oil. If the Yorubas contributed so little to SW GDP, why can't other tribes replicate the SW development in their own states? Why is it that 4 Yorubas are in the top ten richest Nigerian list when Yorubas only make up 21% of the population?

Yorubanews:
The Lagos state and Osun Houses of Assembly have advocated renewed commitment to Yoruba Language.

The assemblies in pursuant of this goal called on the government and other stakeholders to ensure compulsory teaching of Yoruba language in both private and public schools in all Yoruba speaking states.

Speakers of the two states, Honourable Mudashir Obasa and Najeem Salaam made the call when the former visited Osogbo to invite the latter to a Stakeholder Forum on compulsory teaching of Yoruba as an indigenous language in all schools in the state.

Representing the Lagos Speaker, the Chairman House Committee on Education, Lanre Ogunyemi said, it is important to enhance the teaching and learning of Yoruba language in schools in Yoruba speaking states.

According to him, the National Policy on Education was apt about the teaching of indigenous languages, saying, Yoruba language was not being valued as it happened in other climes like Europe, China, America among others.

“As a state and as a region, we must ensure that our language did not go into extinction, for this reason we must entrench it in all our schools.

“We have observed that in most of our schools, it is either they do not teach or have teachers to teach Yoruba language”

“The National Policy on Education said a student shall learn language of their environment, which is Yoruba in the South West region, Hausa in the North and Igbo in the East, meaning that it is compulsory that our children must learn their indigenous languages”, he said.
