Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Reluctance To Challenge Ceding Of Bakassi, Impeachable Offence Elechi by Twoboys: 9:29am On Oct 02, 2012
impeachable offence; that is all we hear these days, why not talk about the criminal offence of those who gave away Our land in the first place. All this talk about appeal after all the commitment made by the joint commission of both countries with agreements and implementations made over the years, will only make us appear as aggressors and troublemakers before the UN and international communities which played observer roles and contributed financially to these process. Again, there are no guarantees with this appeal, must we allow the people of Bakassi to under go this trauma and rejection a 2nd time or we should move them on by properly resettling them with all their full rights and privileges? It is actually the failure of government to settle this people properly that has led to this fresh cries and push for re-visiting, which may only turn out to be a mere academic excercise without any sympathy of the international communities. Well, may God help GEJ, he has to balance being popular with doing the needful.
Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Economic Policy ‘failing’ — UN by Twoboys: 4:30pm On Sep 19, 2012
The whole EUROZONE debt crisis have defiled economic policy and stimulus offered, while man made insecurity situation in Nigeria has taken its toll. Wonder how economic policies succeed in such environments.
Politics / Re: Imolites Are Difficult To Govern – Okorocha by Twoboys: 9:12pm On Sep 09, 2012
No doubt there is no relationship between a people being difficult to be led and their leader's personal ability to lead. The comment of gov rochas only show are poorly researched our leaders are of their people they aspire to lead. Hence they are overwhelmed with the reality they meet in office which were are not new in the first place.
Politics / Re: Demolition Of Kidnappers Of Anambra's Monarch's House ( Pics) by Twoboys: 8:49pm On Sep 09, 2012
I think the governor of delta state has a huge lesson to learn from this, delta state has unarguable turn into the state with the highest number of kidnap case in Nigeria today. Despite this very bad record, the state has not domesticated any law against kidnapping, neither is there any real action against kidnappers being co-ordinated by the state government beyond rethorics. Thumb up to governor obi.
Politics / Re: Fashola Rejects Creation Of Additional States by Twoboys: 3:41pm On Jun 23, 2012
The same reasons offered by our own Fashola for not supporting creation of new states apply also to new local govts. How many local councils today are viable? The only thing that reminds us of the existance of local councils are different revenue committees of the councils going around embarassing and harassing nigerians and small businesses with all manner of levies. The other reminder are the numerous caretakers committee appointed by the governors to serve their own interest. Lets just focus one having the existing numbers of states and LG to function effectively. None of the two is a neccessity to be duplicated under the current realities.
Politics / Re: Jonathan's Destiny Is To Bankrupt Nigeria - Bakare by Twoboys: 3:31pm On Jun 23, 2012
Since pastor Bakare is this good in telling the destiny of people,he should not stop with GEJ, he should tell us of his own destiny and that of Buhari. May be that of IBB and OBJ alongside Tinubu and fashola.
Politics / Re: Falana Demands Identity Of VIP Who Closed Abuja Airspace For 30 Mins by Twoboys: 3:18pm On Jun 23, 2012
Once again we are playing to the gallery on an issue that borders on our lives and for which a real time opportunity has been offered by the ongoing public hearing of the joint aviation committees of the national assembly. The opportunity is for all who have infomation and questions on the dana crash can come forward to do so.The committee is empowered to invite anyone that can provide the answers. Mr falana should take advantage of that in the interest of the dead, than just only going to press where it only serve the purpose of publicity stunt. Mr falana said he was told that airspace was closed for VIP movement, who told him that? and why cant he take this infomation to the public hearing where releveant agency officials could be called to give answers? To me that add more value to finding a solution than leaving this in the realm of them say.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Must Come To NASS, Reps Insist by Twoboys: 6:19pm On Jun 22, 2012
Security informations worldwide are on a need to know basis, especially national security infor. No president worth his salt and understands what national security means will go before an over 600 members paliament (many with no security background and very questionable background, no disrespect intended) and divulge its security operational strategy (if there is any)without compromising it. We must not forget that there is wide spread suspicion of Boko haram infitrate govt and a serving senator is currently facing charges of complicity. National security has an overriding priority and remains purely a need to know issue any where in the world. Our reps went on to make this even laughable at a time of "war", that the president must appear with all the nation's security chiefs who should actually be busy dealing with urgent security matters demanding their attention other than playing politics with politicians in Abuja. As representative of the people, i expected them to be offering more intelligence to the security forces on curbing the boko haram as their people are expected to have trusted them than the security forces to give infor. That is if they can even visit and stand up before the people they claim to represent. What value have all previous invitations of the secutity chiefs to the house on the security situation added?

Politics / Re: NUPENG Threatens Strike Over Sacked Lagos Doctors by Twoboys: 9:44am On May 27, 2012
As for NUPENG, unionism thrive on solidarity (injury to one injury to all). Government always insist that all their decisions are inevitable and the only way to go: the same thing we heard when toll gate were installed on the lekki and when school fees in LASU went up to 250K despite peoples outcry and protest.I thought goverment & governance was about the people, but no its about the politicians. Too bad.
Politics / Re: Fashola Ask Jonathan To Withdraw Troops From Lagos Streets – Full Speech by Twoboys: 4:10pm On Jan 17, 2012
The governor has access to Mr president, its mischievious of him to offer his advise on a state wise broadcast. Only reason he will choose that approach is because he wants to play to the gallery, and for someone seating in that office he should know better that you cant use security issue to play to the gallery. If as a governor, u wake up to see deployment of troops in ur state, u should have called the president and get is own view knowing that he has superior intelligence at his disposal (dont know if there was any intell to the extent that there have been strange movements during the nite etc). Why just assume like every ordinary man in the street and play to the gallery. In recent times that security breaches occur in any part of the country, we all blame jonathan, not the governors of such state, so why this holier than thou. Its better to err on d part of caution than allow any unfortunate breache in security, we only know of ourselves and our motive we cannot say the same for others, hw far they would want to take things to make their point especially when organised labour was pulling out, who then take responsibility?
Politics / Re: Pastor Bakare, I'm Disappointed! by Twoboys: 9:43am On Jan 11, 2012
Never expecting anything different from him. As a christian the duty bible bestow on us to the authority is respect and prayers. For a man who bears the name of God to be wishing death for the president and making reference to death of yar-adua in such a dis-respecting way is very ungodly. Innocent people & christians have been bombed and killed by sponsored groups, cabals have been stealing this nation dry, i have not seen this pastor rain such abuse on them or wish death for them the way he did for the president. He turned an issue base protest into an opportunity for personality attack, calling the finance minister names. God is merciful.
Politics / Re: Nlc To Shut Down Airports, Banks, Etc - Advises Masses To Stockpile. Who Loses? by Twoboys: 4:34pm On Jan 06, 2012
oradee:

our debt was paid off before OBJ left office.
did they borrow 1.3trillion to subsidize 10% of our consumption?
then who then funds their lavish and extravagant spending? is it the masses?
469 NASS members (minus others) gulp N1.12trillion and its OK?
As Tu-face said, If u wanna go to heaven, be prepared to die first.
if the leakage of nigeria is to be mopped up, then the source of the leak must be checked and sealed.
if Obama can reduce call for a salary cut, the British PM reduce his convoy to only two (as i hear, i never go UK before), i don't see any reason why your GEJ and co cant do the same.
Honestly i blame the financial advisers for not first championing a reduction in govt spending before singing for subsidy removal.
leadership is from top to bottom.
the govt and co can afford the new pump price and every increment that goes with it but not the masses (which include the jobless, the old, the retired without pension, the less privileged, the physically challenged)
I absolutely agree with you on all you've said. The only seeming difference is that until we as a people are able to get government to do the right thing as you have listed, it should not be our children who should pay for govt taking us for a ride and we ourselves allowing the corruption to go on like it is free just because its costing the future of our children. My guess is that if we come under this pressure of making the sacrifice, the pain of such sacrifice will force us to confront the government to be more responsible. Nothing on ground before now shows us as a people doing enough to make our leaders accountable, but with such painful sacrifice we just may.
Politics / Re: Nlc To Shut Down Airports, Banks, Etc - Advises Masses To Stockpile. Who Loses? by Twoboys: 12:49pm On Jan 06, 2012
We may never agree on: what we really subsidizing: corruption, inefficiencies or fuel, when will be the best time to remove the subsidy etc, but we can at least agree on who should pay for the subsidy for as long as we allow it to exist. That is were GEJ logic has remained superior: NO TO BORROWING OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE FOR SUBSIDIZING US. We have seen the 2012 budget proposals, how do we pay another 1.3 trillion naira? cut personnel cost? labour is already fuming over the proposed merger of parasatal amd ministries becos it may lead to sack of some workers? cut the vote on health, education, agriculture and security etc which have all been said to be inadequate in the first place? Labour need to give her own answer to that question.
Politics / Re: Oil Subsidy Removal: I’ll Lead Sng To Protest If – Tunde Bakare by Twoboys: 9:54am On Dec 20, 2011
Threat and threat everywhere, from boko haram to labour and civil societies for which nigeria is at the receiving end. If people have alternative idea to that of goverment, they should canvass and lobby it through d power of superior logic than name dropping and resort to threat which only compound our sufferings. According to the isreali PM, leaders must see reality d way it is and not d way it should be. As a nation we are still lost in this oil mentality that supposes that being an oil producing nation, we dont need to make any for sacrifice the things we want, all things should be free. (may be that is d way it should be), but d reality of today arising from decades of wastage and corruption couple with d enormous challenges of d size of resources required to develop all critical sectors of our nation to be in position  to support our aspiration detects that making sacrifices is inevitable. We may struggle with the issue of timing and trust (which should then engage our debate), but using our current suffering as an excuse to encourage us to do NOTHING, all in d name of being an oil producing nation is the mantality that has enslaved us too long and is not supported by d realities that face us today.
Politics / Re: What Is Gej On Top Of by Twoboys: 2:53pm On Aug 30, 2011
The nation of Isreal may well go down as having suffered the highest and worst of terrorist attacks (most in d form of suscuide bombing). There were times dis attacks were happening daily, never in any of these times did the
people of isreal turn on her leaders in d face of attack on their nation, rather they were united behind their leader (weak or strong), volunteering themselves for the defence of their nation. Think they realised early that the security & defence of their nation was not the job of one man who occupies an office. Lets stop name calling and start asking ourselves question like who are the enemies within? wat are they up to? who are their sponsors? hw can i help my nation thru its security agencies to find this people or prevent this kind of incidence etc. GEJ is d leader & symbol of nigeria today, its his responsibility to continue to assure & reassure d nation, that can never be too much at times like this. The fact that its no longer easy for these terrorist to jus drop bombs at targets anymore, but are resorting to suicide bombing shows dat the security agencies are doing something and with a little more support & encouragement from all, they will do better.
Politics / Re: Can Jonathan Really Handle Things In Nigeria? by Twoboys: 1:15pm On Aug 27, 2011
Condolence must first go to those who suffered loss on this tragic attack on our country. We must avoid the temptation of allowing man made terror like this to tear us along lines of religion, politics or ethnic considerations, as that would mean us aiding & abetting the objectives of the master minds of these acts of terror. We must unite behind our leaders as the americans did & are still doing to defeat terrorism. We all know that our institutions, agencies and systems to be relied on by our leader(s) to get dis done are weak, not d weakness of today or one man (subject for another discussion) and it would take time to rebuild. The point i wish to make is dat America with its strong agencies and institutions, enlisted & got the full co-operation of her citizens couple with their patience to get d results achieved so far, but by no means have they claimed victory yet. The fight against terror is a marathon one that calls for every citizen participation. Not just one for one man, no matter the office he occupies.
Politics / Re: 2011 Nigerian Presidential Inauguration Thread by Twoboys: 4:16pm On May 29, 2011
Would like to salute the fine men and women of our security forces who worked so hard to make this an hitch free excercise. Often when things go wrong like the october 1st incident, we blame them for everything. Think is time to give some credit and hope this is just the new face of things to be. Congratulations to all nigerians, it feels good to know that we can still make good things happen again after all.
Politics / Re: Speaker Bankole Spent N10 Billion Bank Loan On Gbemi Saraki, Ini Edo by Twoboys: 7:01pm On May 16, 2011
Without giving credence to the authenticity or otherwise of this report, i am not in support of mixing up clear responsibilty on the part of indidividuals of accountable age who took oath not to abuse their office, with party or other persons or instituition. If any individual is found guilty of any mis-deed, such shuld be named & shamed without draging in ethnic, political or religious colouration that tend to divide opinion on a matter that should be straightly condenmed by all.
Politics / Re: Fg Pegs Carrying Capacity Of 9 New Varsities At 500 Students by Twoboys: 1:54pm On May 06, 2011
Besides the increase in capacities, the new universities were met to create a sense of equity with every state having at least a federal university. The challenge before us now is getting use to the new way of approaching development which places emphasis on specialised output that have clear bearing to the developmental needs of the society where such developemts are so intended. This approach may take us away from the usually huge structures (often difficult & costly to maintain) dat define our universities, with its cost impact on limited resources and overcrowding student populations (outside of effective monitoring and control). The results of which is the mass of unemployable graduates (self employment inclusive) who are so ill equipped to face the challenges of building a functional society. You will agree that even within a state the developemental needs of the different senatorial zones varies, with this model we can align our universities to these needs. Its a new beginning we just have to give it the chance to evolve, even though i have my own reservation about the 500 number.
