samorobo: Nairobi water project is by far much worse than that of Lagos.... So long as the water is clean and healthy to drink I don't see a problem.....You guys can't afford to pump your own water thus you rely on the water flowing through KIBERA from nairobi river.. if your govt cannot provide basics like electricity and water and you are proud of it indeed nigeria is doomed majority of nairobi water comes from ndakaini dam go and read more about kenya again |

Obiano13: Illiterate dont know people in Lagos use boreholes
Although Lagos is surrounded by water the most common way of obtaining fresh water is from street vendors selling water in containers. Just 10 per cent of the population of Lago have a piper water supply that has been treated. The remaining 90 per cent rely on wells or sink boreholes to reach underground water supplies or rely on street vendors. In 2016 daily demand in the state stood at 724 Million gallons while production was 317 million gallons, leaving a gap of 407 million gallons. Water in the lagoon is not suitable for drinking because it is salty and polluted. Water supply began to be regulated in 2012 by the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission. Their role is to regulate water supply vendors and issuing licenses for boreholes. The greatest challenge for the commission is providing safe drinking water at a reasonable price. The clean water that is piped to ten per cent of the population of Lagos originated from water treatment plants that have extracted river water. There is a significant risk of extracting contaminated water from wells and boreholes. Groundwater can be polluted by sewage. Also, groundwater can be contaminated by saltwater from the lagoon making it unsuitable for drinking. This problem will increase with sea level rise. Open drains transport surface run-off into rivers and the lagoon. This surface water is often polluted by sewage. good , people like samorobo the hypocrite are quick to search youtube videos about nairobi water problems while lagos has worse problems regarding water |
