TimmyTen:This is not a strong message to anyone. Haven't you realized that the people who suffer these kinds of treatments in your country are poverty-stricken people? People like Bobrisky would be worshipped by these so-called mobs. In Nigeria, money rules, that's all! |
I'm moving to Chicago for a summer internship in May and I'm looking for an apartment or somewhere to stay. Any Nigerian over there who has something? Please, reach out so we can discuss the rates and other details. Thanks. |
Babnxst93:Hello, I'm applying for mpower loan too. Can I pm you with questions pls? |
MackyNaija:Hi Mackynaija, I'm filling out the Mpower loan form and I wanted to make sure I put in the best possible information to better position myself for an approval, especially in those sections for Employment (Desired Career Post-Graduation), employment history annual income, and Financial Information (summary of financial plan). Would it be OK if I Pm'd you share the private information I filled in and maybe you can give me some guidance? Admission is already secured, na funding remain. Thanks. |
1stGenAmerican:Nope, I mean if I transfer to another school upon arriving in the US. The student visa cannot be cancelled in this case, and transferring like this is perfectly legal. |
@everyone pls I have some questions about Mpower loan. 1. If I get approved for the loan but my visa gets denied, what will happen? 2. What if I get to the US and after landing I decide to attend a different school other than the one the mpower loan was approved for, what will happen? Thanks so much. |

Others who have an answer can chime in too pls. |
Systrom:Thanks for the enlightenment. At least that makes me relieved a bit cos I’ve been thinking maybe I’ve been cursed with bad luck by my village people when I saw everyone getting approved except me. |
Systrom:So, could it be that the first three times he got denied for an EA, it wasn't up to six months yet after his visa refusal, then he got approved for an EA when it was up to six months. |
Systrom:Wow, I also would not have cancelled, but I learned on here that you need to cancel first. Was he ever once denied a visa like me before applying for EA or he was a first time applicant? |
Systrom:How many times did he pay mrv fee? |
Systrom:I was denied a visa in July. Could that be the reason? I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who was once denied a visa and got approved for EA? So far, all I’ve seen are first time applicants. |
SonugaMike:That would mean first canceling the current date I have, right? |
Badguy001:Thank you, man. I'd just keep the July date I received and use it for next fall. I will defer my admission to next fall. I believe I don't need to pay another visa fee, right? All I'd have to do is fill another ds-160, and update my profile with the new confirmation number. Is this correct? |
SonugaMike:What reasons did you give? |
So, it looks like I was the only one who got denied for an EA in Abuja. I submitted everything required - i20, passport, sevis recceipt, mrv fee receipt - yet I got denied with no explanation. What exactly am I supposed to do in this case? Is there someone I need to talk to about this pls? Was there a format for writing the request that I did not follow? Those of you who got approved, how did you write the request? |
I applied for EA in Lagos, it got denied. I filled another de-160 and applied for another EA in Abuja yesterday and I got an email now that it has been denied again. Please what’s all these? Why is this happening? What exactly am I supposed to do differently? Why is the embassy doing this to us? After all the struggle to get admission, funding, etc, I can’t even schedule an appointment for a visa interview. This isn’t fair at all. |
SaintBees:It says we have only one expedited request per mrv fee. Did you not pay another visa fee? |
SaintBees:When you reapplied to Abuja, did you get a date and then applied for EA in Abuja? I believe you’re going for spring 2022. |
I was denied a visa in June this year in Lagos. I deferred my admission to Spring 2022 and reapplied for another visa. I received a date for Sepetember 2022 in Lagos and applied for EA. I just received an email that my emergency appointment has been denied. If I defer my admission to fall again, the Sepetember 2022 date is still to far. What do I do? |
ifedayosol:Can anyone please give me the format or template used in sending an emergency appointment letter to the embassy please? |
Chynwem:Ok thanks |
Chynwem:No I have not submitted on travel docs, I’m saying travel docs says I should only submit when I’ve been denied within the last six months, but I was denied less than six months ago. However, my school resumes 13th January which will still be less than six months since I was denied, so what do I do? I was denied on July 20. |
Chynwem:So does this mean I don’t have to submit the emergency application on us travel docs, I should just contact the email you mentioned, right? |
neurosci:I sent you a PM. |
Chynwem:No, I’ve not. I’ll look at it. |
Hey guys, so I got denied on July 20 this year. Now, I'm trying to book another appointment but it gave me September 22. I wanted to apply for emergency appointment but it said it is only limited to students who have not been denied a visa within the last six months. My school resumes on January 13, so even if I wait until January 13, it still isn't up to six months (from July 20). Please what do I do? I see some reapplicant transcripts here showing they went back for another visa interview not up to six months after their first denial, how do you do it pls? |
On ds160 form, if your uncle is paying for your trip, is your uncle considered "Other Person" or "Other Relative"? |
Philjj1102:Please, what's the difference between surge and EA? I'm really confused about these things or what to choose and my school start date is January 13th. |
olaoluwa13:Why would you want to change your sevis ID number. When you get issued another admission after deferring your last admission, you get the same SEVIS ID number which means you don't have to pay another 350 dollar sevis fee, you just use the same old sevis receipt. |
KCVLB:I appreciate your response. I actually took a new photograph but for some weird reason I don't understand, it rejected my photo. Meanwhile, I took the new photograph with the same photographer who took my older one which was accepted. So, I can't understand why it rejected this now, and I posed the same way. I'm confused about what to do, anyone please.
|
KCVLB:why are we not able to use the same photo we used before if it's less than 6 months ago? |
