If you get rejected for a visa last semester and you were given a blue paper, do you need to take a new passport size photograph for you new ds-160 when you are applying again? |
Lilbaby23:I'm confused. What documents am I sending via email? |
Just to clarify: after getting denied a visa for last semester, to apply for another one in a new semester, I have to fill out a new ds-160 right? Then I have to include the information in the new i20, right? |
Kingcalls:We're they also the reason he won Copa? |
owagbeba:Lol, bro but 59K isn't going to sit there permanently and nothing else forever. I believe we submit a bank statement to show evidence of movement of cash flow. I mentioned my uncle is into real estate. So, isn't he going to make more money next year and the coming years? It's not like his business has crashed and nothing will ever come in again nah. |
JavanElsevier41:Hmm, ok, but my plan is to do a phd after my masters, why should that be a bad plan? Like I mentioned, i want to return to be a lecturer at my alma mater and a master's is not enough for that, I need a phd too. Also, I already discussed this plan with my potential supervisor who said it was sensible. So, if I told the VO I only wanted to do a masters, how would a master's benefit me upon returning to Nigeria? I wouldn't be able to use it to lecture or anything, so what would be my plan in that aspect? |
Visa denied this morning at Lagos embassy. Gurus please help me take a look and suggest ways to improve. I got no funding from the university so my COA was $40K. Me: Good morning madam VO: no answer VO: Pass me your passport and i20 Me: I did VO: starts typing then asks where are you going? Me: I am going to pursue a masters degree in Animal Science at the University of Nebraska Lincoln VO: what are you doing presently? Me: I'm a poultry farmer VO: So what will this degree do for you? Me: My goal is to pursue both my masters and PhD at the same time in the same unl which I have discussed with my supervisor. After my PhD, I intend to return to Nigeria to take up a lecturing job at my alma mater. I have always been interested in teaching agriculture to students and I love to give back to my alma mater where I earned my 1st, degree. A PhD in animal science will position me as a great candidate for the job. VO: points to i20 and asked who is paying this $40000? Me: my uncle VO: what does he do? Me: he is a real estate investor, who manages my late grandfather's real estate properties in Lagos and Abeokuta. He was the one who sponsored my high school and college education and I lived with him all through my time in college. VO: How is he going to pay? Me: I have his bank statement with me as well as my late grandfathers will wherein he stated that proceeds from the real estate industry can be used for the educational programs of his children. At this time I wanted to pass the bank statement to her but she said no. VO: what type of account does he have? Me: savings VO: Does he have a US account? ME: NO. I will be the one to open the account when I get there and he will send the money into my account and then I will pay it to the school. Me: Passes the financial statements to her again VO: (She collects it and cross-check. The statement has a balance of about #30000000) VO: Okay but I'm sorry you did not qualify at this time. You can reapply. Twoods, Fairheart, lagosismyhome, other gurus, pls kindly contribute your thoughts |
Pefuele:After updating on the appointment portal, I was told you just have to take both the old and new ds-160 confirmation slips to the interview. Do you still need to send an email? Does this apply to every update you made to your ds-160 or just change of school? In my case, there is a change in sponsor. I had initially mistakenly put self as sponsor, but now I need to change it to uncle. Do I also need to do as you said by sending an email? |

afeezzezo:So when going to the embassy, do I have to take ONLY the confirmation slip of the new one or I need to take both the old and new confirmation slips? I see you mentioned it will it give me a new confirmation number, meaning I now have two slips with two different confirmation numbers. I looked online and people are saying if you make a change to the ds-160 after submitting, when going to the embassy, you must take both the old and new confirmation slips. I'm wondering why take the old one, isn't this going to show them you made a change to the ds-160? |
Tyleet:@justwise, is there a way I can ask this question directly to the VOs. I saw there are past VO threads, but the VOs are no longer active on those threads. Is there a currently active thread to ask a VO a question? |
afeezzezo:Thanks so much. Will I have to pay a new visa fee and will they see that I changed something in my ds-160 form? |
I made a mistake in my ds160. In the question, "WHO IS PAYING FOR YOUR TRIP?", I put in self, misinterpreting the word, "trip" to mean flight expenses, however, I just realized that trip actually means tuition and fees and everything. My uncle will be my sponsor. What do I do now, I already submitted my ds-160. |
There used to be a document on past visa transcripts compiled in there. I think lagosismyhome or walspring once posted something like that. Is there a way I can find it pls? |
hi walspring, I sent you an email. Please, check. Thanks. |
Is it important to contact the grad coordinator or advisor or a professor in your program before you apply to grad school? If you apply without contacting them first, does that mean you won't get admitted or it simply means you won't get funding? |

Emekus92:During that time, you CR7 fans were busy shouting that CR7 pays his taxes while Messi does not. Now, table has turned. |
Sheq:Is it the high school that has to send it or you can send it yourself? And do you mail the scratch card with the photocopy of statement of result? |
Sheq:I'm actually making the inquiry for my brother. It looks like he will use gce. WOW! So, you are saying it will cost him an additional 22K? But why is WES doing this to only Nigeria?? What's the meaning of all these? |
Hey guys, I'm trying to apply for master's degree in the US, and I'm new to this master's degree application. So, my school told me to send my college transcript from Nigeria to WES for evaluation. They said my my college would have to mail it. My understanding about this from the past is that you just go to your college, pay the fee, and have them send your transcript to WES. However, I decided to check the WES website for any updated information, and I saw that they stated that Nigerian applicants must now send secondary school transcript also if they wish to evaluate college transcript. I was shocked seeing this -- I mean, wetin consign secondary school with college again -- but then, I decided to come here to ask if any one of you has been through this process. Please, did anybody here recently sent college transcript to WES? Please, how did you go about it? Thanks. |

Tyleet:I need an answer, pls. Or don't people pay tuition here? |
Hi guys, I have a few important questions to ask: When was the last time anyone here paid their fees using Form A? How long did it take for you sch to receive the payment after you made it, and what bank did you use? Thanks. |
