Hello Guys, got the email below from Sterling Bank. Hope these pple are nt coming up with something fishy again in the banking sector. It better be Sterling bank and Visa cards alone!!!

We regret to inform you that effective 9th September, 2016, your will no longer be able to carry out transactions with your Sterling VISA Naira Debit Cards.

However, your cards are still available for domestic transactions on all channels.

To continue to facilitate your International transactions, we encourage you to get a Visa Gold Debit Card issued on our USD domiciliary account.

Please click HERE to read more about the VISA Gold Card and visit any of our branches to make a request for the card.

We sincerely apologize for all inconveniencies.

Thank you for choosing Sterling bank.

Ameen thanks @mumdearest
mumdearest:
Dear Tyrah1, if the account is yours, you can terminate as lady G has suggested and transfer to your account and defend the statement that the purpose of the FD was towards your missionary journey.

Just my suggestion.

Pray all the way and you will find favor........ all the best.

@happybaby Yes I gotthat thanks for ur response
happytbaby:
Hi,
@ Original poster, I was going to weigh in on this matter earlier but had a stressful day.

You need a regular income account in addition to the fixed deposit. In case the VO decides to check, a fixed deposit certificate shows you have funds but they like to know that you are earning money as this also serves as tie. Also, one could borrow funds and fix....you get my drift?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Tyrah1: 11:48pm On Sep 06, 2016
No oo @LadyG I really appreciate your response oo I swear infact I took it in just told her I was wondering b4
LadyGuinivere:
Remember what I gave you was my opnion and not based on any particular experience.
When in doubt, please err on the side of caution. If somebody has had a personal experience that wasn't favourable then that means you shouldn't bank much on my opinion.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Tyrah1: 7:28pm On Sep 06, 2016
That what I was thinking too but wen LadyG said it easy to liquidate u'mean so confuse don't know what to do
mumdearest:
im of the opinion that you should go with another statement (if available). a colleague of mine was denied with lots of money in his FD account reason being that its an asset.

But as we all know what is applicable to one may not be to another.

All the best.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Tyrah1: 11:13pm On Sep 05, 2016
Thank mama @LadyG God bless you
LadyGuinivere:
An FD is easily liquidated so in my opinion, yes its ok. If the money is ok to fund the trip u can carry it alone but if have more to show , e better na

Oh I forgot to mention my Forex struggle. I tried all my long leg but none worked. Spoke to one of the MD'S Of the company that we service and he offered to give me $2k at N350. (If you have people that you know can spare you a few dollars at a discounted rate. Please approach them, i consider it an alternative to not getting pta from the banks) On the day of travel, I tried travelex and my miracle working God surprised me. I got a bit above 2k at N356. I was blown away. The lady even said if I want up to 8k (4k pta for me and 4k pta for my daughter) she would sell to me. The unfortunate thing come be say, they don't accept POS and since I didn't even plan this, I didn't have cash to fund it. So what I did was to do transfers into all the cards available on me and DH. rushed to the ATM and we withdrew the cash. But daily limit sef mess us up a bit. So we were only able to get cash that cld buy a bit above 2k at 356. So if you are travelling you might want to check out travelex patticylarly if you are travelling during the day becos i want to guess they dont work 24hrs. Their shop is just one of the last you will see just when you are about to go the the immigration part of departure. They only require you to present your boarding pass and passport to sell to you.

Also anyone travelling with qatar and you are above 30wks will be asked to go to the port health office to get certificate of fit to fly even though you have submitted all the mediform and fit to fly to qatar days before travel . Port health go come ask you to sign undertaking that they will not be responsible for anything that happen to you on the plane ( the lady said they only do this for qatar because of some issues they had with them in the past. Sorry for the long story gis. Just wanted to cover as much as happened during my trip.

Thanks @XX01
XX01:
Except you mean 1st week in October, you have more than enough time to reschedule your appointment. If it's October, then try to see if you can get an earlier visa date via the means you've been told.

Thanks my sis really appreciate your response so I would try early morning as u said thanks
nazstra:
Hi, its possible to get a closer date, doesn't even necessarily have to be refreshing your page at midnight . I was able to get a closer date for myself and LO early in the morning around 6am. Also got for my mum 2 mornings ago for 10th of august. But note: you only get to reschedule just once after booking your initial appointment. So just make sure the next date you book really works for you. Just keep refreshing your page until you get a closer date.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by Tyrah1: 1:38pm On Aug 02, 2016
My sis I am due 1st week in November
ozycy:
you can call your doctor to reschedule your appointment if you are not due soon. Or you can keep refreshing the appointment page maybe midnight to see if there will be any close available date.

KayLayChi:
Hello Tyrah, I just called St Mary's and they are affordable compared to other quotes I have gotten. However they claim to work with any Obgyn or certified midwife.

Have you used St Mary's, if you have which doctor did you use.

Thanks

@LadyG thanks but please note cos of that please
LadyGuinivere:
Why una dey beg the whoever na? If it vex you please then don't pm her. I have said it over and over, no be by force to answer pm. If e pain you well, please read from part 1 to 4. Jot down alllllll the hospital and costs and start answering pms.
Fyi people run consultancies and get paid for it.
@first time mum ignore . Na Buhari economy dey worry am.

@Tariah I saw your pm. And I assume the question you asked was the reason. You are asked to reapply when your circumstance has changed. The embassy usually ADVICES you wait 3 months. Its not cast in stone.
But if you are pregnant, you may not have the benefit of time so usuallly mommas reapply as soon as they can get a date

St mary hospital in new jersey is affordable
kellikross:
Hello just wise, i have been following and reading all your comments and advise on trips to the US and giving birth there. I just applied for a B1/B2 visa but have the intention of giving birth there. my husband also applied together with me for his renewal and we choose to stay in new jersey. our interview is next month in Abuja and am yet to locate a hospital in new jersey that will be affordable and not on the high side.
i was also advised by a colleague to send an email to the embassy indicating my intention to give birth in the US since am already pregnant and did not apply for B1/medical. i am yet to find the email address to send the mail to.

Please can you advise and also be of help.

i will really appreciate your response.

Thank you

funtolash:
Hello everyone and happy new month. Glad to be part of the part 4 journey.

@All new mummies, congratulations.

May all our dreams and hardworking on our children be fruitful IJN.

finally got an hospital in New Jersey that provided me with their pricing, however I've been asked to contact a doctor for his bill. Once that his sorted, that's when they said they can take me in. Am positive that in the coming week I will have that sorted out. My EDD is still in October o. Just want to sort of as much as I can to avoid last minute rush.

LadyG, omodadi, atawewe, JW, I hail all of u na o
