PoliticsRe: Petrol Freely Smuggled Out, Rice Is Smuggled In Despite 60 Checkpoints by U09ce: 1:27pm On Jun 07
I never even knew that importing rice is now illegal through land borders, because foreign rice is everywhere in the market.

How can you have 67 checkpoints on one road? Only insane people will do that
PoliticsRe: North-East Will Reward Tinubu With Votes For Gombe-Biu Highway Project - Ndume by U09ce: 11:41pm On Jun 06
Time will tell whether it's a real road or one where they'd do 5km per year and keep amplifying as if they've constructed a Kainji dam

All these is not up to 10km of paved section in 3 years. Is that the pace they want it to connect to Lagos?

PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Commemorates 70 Years Of The Nigerian Navy In Lagos (Photos) by U09ce: 9:16am On Jun 02
kingsways:
I haven’t really felt any impact of the Navy

As Nigeria is not at war, I expect the C-in-C to deploy the bulk of the Naval personnel to actively join in pursuing terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, robbers all around the country

Even the Air Force, what exactly are they doing? Just collecting salaries for nothing ?
Their main job is to secure the waters and they have been quite successful by ridding the Gulf of Guinea of pirates. Fighting bandits and kidnappers is largely the turf of ground and air troops.

It's getting clearer that mining is the root or at least a catalyst to the current insecurity ravaging the country.

Extract as much information from them and give them the death penalty. Enough of this cycle of parading criminals and throwing them behind the bars eating our commonwealth

Looking forward to seeing the operationalisation of the terminal. Public buses running within cities and towns should be a norm.

With 250k, you should look out brands other than these three you mentioned. Because for the big brands, you have to go for their premium segments to reap the benefits. Check the likes of Xiaomi, Tecno, Huawei etc
TravelRe: Tinubu Approves 50% Discount For Passengers On Nigerian Railway by U09ce: 9:05pm On May 26
The railways are not doing well. Abuja to Kaduna runs only two trips despite the high demand. Seasonal subsidies isn't a bad idea but longevity of the service should be paramount
Science/TechnologyRe: Renewable Energy: Adamawa & Kaduna Solar Mini-Grids To Electrify 33,000 Homes by U09ce: 12:14pm On May 18
Brendaniel:
Lots of questions are just going through my head on these solar projects embarked by the FG:

1. How sustainable is this in the long run when more houses are being built and the capacity is not able to cover the consumption?

2. We all know that currently, anyone using solar must most likely have to be calculative on balancing use with available power supply, are these villages in the know and would they practice it?

3. Are these villages billed for the consumption or is it free, and if it is free, how sustainable would it be in the long run in terms of maintenance?

4. Did they factor in the future that electricity distribution companies might also come and want to electricity the place and take over the structure in place, would there be resistance from these communities? And if there is resistance would it not cause conflict?

5, If the FG did not factor in all these questions above and provide solutions to them, why embark on spending billions that could have been used to improve power generation and distribution that will still get to these villages?

These are just questions I am asking, I'm more concerned about the reliability, cost, sustainability and future effects..
These are salient questions begging for answers. Another critical aspect is the operations and maintenance. Does the REA does that directly or they get contractors? And how do they pay them?

PoliticsRe: Progress Report Of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road by U09ce: 11:56pm On May 08
If you follow all these choreographed videos you'd think these are nice roads. Ask any person plying Abuja Kaduna about the progress of the work. Ask the person whether the concrete pavement is of same quality with the asphalt the previous contractor was doing. Enough of these deceptions

That's the way to go. With coal, I believe the cost will be more affordable compared to natural gas plants.
PoliticsRe: Sokoto Badagry Super Highway by U09ce: 10:27pm On May 06
dominique:
What section of the road is that? How many Km has been constructed so far and how many Km left? What's the estimated duration of the project? I believe that's what people should be more interested in knowing instead of showing videos of a road that's not up to 5km
My thoughts exactly. This particular road is estimated to be at least 1000km long and it's of little or no use until it connects Sokoto to Lagos. Judging from the videos I have seen so far, I don't think they've paved up to 5km. 5/1000=0.005% in more than 2 years. A similar scenario is playing out with the Calabar end of the coastal road. Unlike the Lagos end where almost 50km is done and motorable, I'm yet to see a video proving that up to 10km has been done. As far as I am concerned, the Sokoto-Badagry is a waste of resources because there are far more economically critical roads in the north deserving attention.

CultureRe: Are Traditional Rulers Still Relevant To You As A Nigerian? by U09ce: 10:11pm On May 05
Yes. They are even more important than the politicians. People trust them the more because they know they are with them most of the times. Unlike politicians, it's easy to access and lodge complaints with traditional rulers. Despite not having any constitutional role, they have influence on policies. Another advantage is that they have representation everywhere within their constituency. At least in the north I know that the hierarchy is structured from the emir down to the ward head. It's just that we were deceived to embrace democracy and jettison something that's working

what's islam
Islam is a divine religion which equips its followers with a fine balance of their spiritual and physical requirements. It has been tested and trusted over centuries and it remains the bastion of morality in today's world. I can guide you if you have specific issues you want to know more about. Thanks

TravelRe: Tinubu Approves 30% Discount On Airlines’ Debt To Aviation Agencies by U09ce: 8:02pm On May 02
Pakute:
• The approval is expected to ease financial pressure on airlines grappling with rising operational costs.

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/874284-tinubu-approves-30-discount-on-airlines-debt-to-aviation-agencies.html
Anything about aviation is usually prioritised. It won't be surprising if they even get 70% discount. If this fuel crisis was happening in the road transport sector, all you'd hear is 'market forces' and 'subsidy is gone forever' 'subsidy is bad for the economy'. But the aviation sector affects ALL elites, they'd always find their way.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Fears The North; He's So Scared Of Northern Nigeria - Deji Adeyanju by U09ce: 11:03am On Apr 29
Tinubu may forgets that the north wasn't unanimous in voting him in, because many did not believe in his muslim muslim scam. A big reason he lost the KKK states. Now that he has shown that he's even worse than people expected, the majority percentage of those who voted him have realised their mistake. The ones who didn't aren't convinced. So it's a double whammy
PoliticsRe: How Consensus Politics Is Undermining Democracy In Nigeria by U09ce: 11:00am On Apr 29
The indirect primaries weren't any better. Let the politicians fight among themselves to get the consensus. It's easier to bribe delegates than to convince your opponents to give up their ambitions.
