BusinessRe: Re 15% Tariff: Why The Federal Government Memo Gets Everything Wrong by U09ce: 7:21pm On Oct 30, 2025
VOsimhen144:
I feel this a Good news for the economy, bad news for fuel importers.

We have Dangote refinery which has even expanded to become the world's largest refinery. Why are we still importing fuel when we have local refinery ? BUA is almost completing his own too.. this will make our Naira stronger against the dollars while we also earn more of foreign exchange by exporting the products abroad which Dangote has already started exporting to the United States.

The fuel importers can also avoid this fuel import Tax by building local refinery here to compete against Dangote thereby creating a competitive market environment which will eventually crash the price of the products totally
You say the refinery has expanded? You think say na balloon?

Someone else might say it serves them right for being grossly disloyal very typical of most employees here, they won't bat an eyelid to mess their oga up. Someone that did you a favor to employ you still has to sleep with one eye open if you're not stealing him blind , you join a stranger to sabotage him. No pity for disloyalty , he's only looking out for himself same way you turned your back on him for your greed.
So employment is a favor? Wow

Were they denied personal protective equipment? You people just like to comment on topics you don't have adequate knowledge of. I remember Dangote sending 800 of these trainee engineers to India for training before the commencement of the refinery back then, you can Google it.

Do you know how much dangote had invested in them in terms of training before they even started working in the refinery? Instead of them to be loyal to that organization, they started sabotaging it, now look at where it has landed them?

They should kuku resign, shebi PENGASSAN have many tank farms at Apapa, let them apply there for work. Simple!
You just dey talk wetin you no know.

One doesn't need to dig deep to know that this is pure victimization. For those supporting the maltreatment of workers, one day e fit reach your turn. If you no work in such places, your brother or your friend might work there. No way in this 21st century a plant worker should be denied personal protective equipment.
EducationRe: Private Universities Vs Federal Universities; Which Truly Offers Better Value? by U09ce: 11:11pm On Oct 27, 2025

You obviously don’t know what a university is.

For you to think that some HR somewhere will overlook a UI, UNN, ABU, OAU graduate for a covenant university, means that you don’t even know what the corporate world is.

Except if you are talking about about those LinkedIn “corporate” one apartment company in Lekki or Ikeja who are referring to themselves as “startups” simply because they have some money from their parent to spend.

Go and tell Shell, Chevron, UAC, or Professors Abroad seeking for PhD Students, that you are from covenant and watch them take you for a joke.
Omoh. Your knowledge is archaic. No employer will overlook Covenant graduate o. First class and 2.1. They complete and many times outshine their counterparts from public universities
PoliticsRe: Umahi Directs Opening Of Bodo-Bonny Road by U09ce:
This road project is one of the benchmarks I use to show the slim probability of of having a coastal road from Lagos to Calabar. Just pull up your Google map and have a look at the route and the terrain. Even without zooming in, you'd notice the several rivers criss-crossing the swampy terrain. From Delta down to Cross River same story. This project took almost a decade partly because of its complexity and I suspect funding issues, and it's just about 40km. What of a 700km road that's dual lane?

PoliticsRe: I Rejected El-rufai As My Successor – Obasanjo by U09ce:
Hehe. He knew he couldn't control Elrufai that's why he refused to anoint him. He knew the late Yaradua had health issues which was a weakness. Oga OBJ, how did you appoint Elrufai to head the critical FCT ministry if the latter is not 'mature'?

In the current age, Elrufai is arguably the most misunderstood politician in Nigeria. Yet, it's difficult to find an effective administrative-politician like him who made positive marks in all the public office he has held. It's well known that Elrufai had good plans on the power sector until Tinubu decided to do away with him via a veiled 'security report'.

Many people view him as a bigot, but he actually isn't anything close to that. A lot of the narratives out there in the media about the southern Kaduna crises do not give a full situational perspective. For a decades long crisis, it's painted as if it's Elrufai that fired the first salvo that turned the residents against each other. Elrufai came with an intent to resolve the crises but it appeared some powers within SK had ulterior motives and pounced back on him via the media narratives which they control. To this day, Elrufai continues to defend his stances on the issue. But unfortunately, people choose to look the other way.

But it doesn't cater for the legal needs of muslims. Christians also have the freedom to get their courts. I think it's in progress.

What are you saying man?
A Christian, or any non-Muslim cannot be compelled to appear before a Sharia Court or have his property or rights adjudicated under Islamic law. Our constitution is very clear on this, it's only for Muslims who have consented to the jurisdiction of the Sharia Court.
Abuja ideally shouldn't have a Sharia Court from the moment it became the capital of Nigeria.
You're wrong. Abuja should have both shari'a and customary courts to serve everyone.

Ibadanfarmroad:
look away from Lagos and Abuja, do you know the number of homeless people in Kano alone? When I saw the number of homeless people in Kaduna I was surprised.

Go down south, many of the northerners in south south and south east region are homeless as well.

No reason am, the figure make brain.
Can you make a wild guess of the homeless people in Kaduna?

I've been the south south and I've seen northerners who live in terrible housing conditions, but they have rooms where they sleep. Homeless are those who sleep under bridges, on the roads or even sleep whenever the sleep meets them.

PoliticsRe: 25 Countries With The Largest Homeless Populations by U09ce: 5:11pm On Oct 23, 2025
I don't believe this stat. Why are most of the numbers round figures with exception of two? What's the source of their data? Lagos and Kano being the most popular states in Nigeria can't have 500k homeless each. You most find homeless people in the cities not villages.

By the way, I don't like the way Nigeria handles its demographic data. There's so much exaggerated information out there. And many other underreported. Some people just cook up data to get funding and then corner the monies without addressing any gaps.

The minister is trying. The increase of telecom is due to inflation and not really am increase in price value.

Starliink have captured the heavy data users. While the ones remaining with telecom are 1gb data buyers

MTN chase away buyers of 1gb plan because of greed. Now they are suffering it.
I beg to disagree. Starlink has only about 70k active subscribers compared to the tens of millions that patronise the likes of MTN. It's lack of oversight I suspect. If not why's almost everyone complaining about why data gets zapped in a short period of time?

The tables have turned. Bosun who's a critic of Pantami (the then minister of comms) became his successor and he's had little impact so far. Even mobile network connections have deteriorated despite the huge increase in prices.

One of the reasons why many muslim ladies get married and even have children while in school. No matter what the course—even if it's MBBS. It's more difficult for student males to marry because of finance. But females are fended for by their husbands who are already working. To guard one's dignity is foremost.

EducationRe: No Work, No Pay - FG Warns ASUU Against Strike by U09ce: 6:02am On Oct 13, 2025
An indication that the FG is the one at fault. It's shocking how na agreement that was reached since 2009 is yet to be fulfilled. ASUU has been engaging the govt and public on this issue yet little or nothing has been done. As usual the public will join the railing against ASUU, many without knowing the the details of the industrial dispute. Many pople don't know how terrible the welfare of university workers has become, to an extent that top graduating students rarely aspire to become lecturers any more. The government has billions to give out in student loans but can't use same source to settle workers arrears.
