PoliticsRe: Tinubu Opens Rivers’ Bodo–bonny Road For Light Vehicles by U09ce: 5:46pm On Dec 09, 2025
Ikaeniyan0:
Jonathan didn't do any work on the project. You can prove me wrong by providing evidence though
That's why I put a 'I think'. I just checked and saw that it was awarded in 2014. But actual work started in 2017.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Opens Rivers’ Bodo–bonny Road For Light Vehicles by U09ce: 12:49pm On Dec 09, 2025
dequir:
The terrain is not the same. The Bodo-Bonny road is a bridge like road built across the ocean to connect two communities. While the Lagos-Calabar road is a land based interconnected highway. And both require different engineering strategies.
You need to check the map of Nigeria and see. It's only the Lagos section or may be Ondo that is land based. The rest are a mix of land and swamp(similar to Bonny Bodo road)
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Opens Rivers’ Bodo–bonny Road For Light Vehicles by U09ce: 11:16am On Dec 09, 2025
Good one. The project started a long while ago I think by GEJ. The major progress was achieved by Buhari. Tinubu put finishing touches. Also note that the project was jointly funded by FG and NLNG. This clarification is quite important before propagandists start to wholly claim the work as 'renewd hope'.

Just thinking. This project(of about 35km( took about a decade to complete , who can estimate how long 700km Lagos Calabar road will take, considering that the terrain is somewhat similar?
Foreign AffairsRe: Military Coup In Benin Republic: Soldiers Announce takeover On Live TV (Pics) by U09ce: 10:40am On Dec 07, 2025
At this point, I think the western countries especially France have a hand in these coups happenings in francophone west Africa. Or at the least, they aren't deploying their intelligence network to leak possible take overs.

This man is a dangerous bigot. The MM ticket turned out to even favor northern christians, and they have become Tinubu solid bastion.

CrimeRe: Gen Z Doesn’t Understand Military Coup – Security Expert by U09ce: 9:04am On Nov 29, 2025
What's the essence of democratic institutions if they can't grant security of lives and properties? It's true that our past military leaders are a big factor to our current status, but one can't deny their sense of patriotism and loyalty. There was some semblance of discipline and sanity compared to the ubiquitous wayward situation we have today. In our 26 years democratic journey, only few indices have improved compared to teg 1990s. In fact, we can't call it an improvement looking at the number of years spent. Politicians are running this country aground, and the spate continues with each election cycle.

I noticed that seun has removed the nauseating 20 character rule. He must have noticed the plummeting of traffic to the platform. In the past weeks, most FP topics did no beyond 3 pages of comments.
PoliticsRe: SW States Sign MOU With NRC To Connect All 6 States Via Rail by U09ce: 8:21am On Nov 28, 2025
This is super good. I like the way the SW come together to achieve common goals. Other regions need to learn. The NW and SE are almost as homogeneous as SW, but they are not able to put out a unified stand

TravelRe: FG To Open First Section Of Lagos–calabar Coastal Highway In December by U09ce: 9:43pm On Nov 24, 2025
All hail South West Coastal Road, the closest road to the heart of the president. The road whose section 1 was hastily commissioned even when it wasn't completed. The road which has defied the law of the country. The road whose right of way keep changing as the project progresses. The road which we are told will reach Calabar but we know it won't happen.
PoliticsRe: Jungle Justice: The Hypocrisy Of The Southern Nigerians By Salihu Tanko Yakasai by U09ce: 12:43pm On Nov 24, 2025

The OP is really a wise man. His predictions have come to pass.

Omo. The thread is from the glory days of this platform. Almost 30 pages on just one topic. Today some front page topics don't go beyond 2 pages.
PoliticsRe: NJI Debunks Viral Claim That Judges Sang ‘on Your Mandate’ At Conference by U09ce: 9:57am On Nov 20, 2025
Yeah. It's true. But such a tune shouldn't be used for the president. It erodes the neutrality of the military. How would it make sense for such a song to be played during a campaign season?

The brigade should compose neutral tunes that can be sung for whoever becomes president, it should convey loyalty that's due to the office and not the person occupying it.

PoliticsRe: How General Ihejirika Terrorized Bokoharam & ISWAP For Over 4 Years by U09ce: 9:51pm On Nov 19, 2025
Pure lies. The chief of army staff that gave Boko Haram the hottest hell was Buratai followed by Minimah. BH actually festered under Ihejirika. So don't bring your propaganda here.

Nairaland GeneralSeun, It's Time To Get Paid Content Writers by U09ce(op): 1:10pm On Nov 15, 2025
Many of us have been on Nairaland platform for more than a decade. We have seen it through its heydays, few tumultuous moments and now sadly witnessing its decline. Until recently, Nairaland was one of the top five websites in Nigeria in terms of user traffic. It attracted all sorts of people from the job seekers to enthusiasts and professionals.

I do not intend to discuss the myriad of issues that are contributing to the reduced patronage for I believe the backend managers are not unaware of the factors. But I would like to highlight an opportunity for Seun and his team to explore in order to improve user experience.

In this age of digital innovation where internet users have several websites to choose from, incentivisation of content is key. When a platform features great content, it becomes an automatic magnet for users. Unlike some years back, NL content haven't been encouraging. Many a times, the topics are just regurgitations of what had already evaporated in spaces like X and Facebook. The situation is worse in the inner sections of the forum, where good contributors have left. Some have decided to move to WhatsApp and Telegram. We no longer see genuine content like those Explorers, xfire, etc.

My suggestion is for Seun to identify top contributors and have an agreement on content writing which will earn them a token. Veteran contributors like Baba naptu should be recognized and rewarded. Deploy your analytics to track those contributors who have left the forum, and find a way of bringing them back.

This is my little contribution. I hope you look into this, and all other suggestions made by other members.

PoliticsRe: Trump’s Threat: It’s Time For Nigeria To Wake Up – Kukah by U09ce: 3:08pm On Nov 10, 2025
Kukah is now speaking like a politician. If it were 3 years ago when he had no federal appointment, I'm 100% sure he'd say sth contrary to his current submission.
PoliticsRe: We Are No Longer Burying People Like Before In Kaduna – CAN Chairman, Hayab by U09ce: 11:21am On Nov 10, 2025
Every other governor is not blamed for insecurity in his state except Elrufai who had a hard stance on terrorists and crisis profiteers. He rejected proposals for negotiations with bandits and instead suggested that the military should carpet bomb them. The southern Kaduna crises preceded him by more than twenty-five years and it's still there deep seated. What they're currently doing is just playing politics by negotiating with bandits who are bound to return to their old ways
FoodRe: Which Nigerian Food From Another Region Would You Like To Try Out? by U09ce: 6:06pm On Nov 09, 2025
Mariangeles:
Another one I'd like to try out someday is gurasa.
Gurasa is more like a flat bread, usually baked in a local clay [vessel] oven.
It can be paired with a variety of stuff, depending on your choice.
Me, I'd like to try it with yaji and suya.

Pictures of gurasa and how it's baked.

Nlfpmod, happy weekend to you o. cheesy
Gurasa with suya and yaji is a great combo. Especially if the yaji has a good portion ground kulikuli.

PoliticsRe: South-West FEC Meeting: Salihu Yakasai Criticises Lopsided Projects Distribution by U09ce: 11:32pm On Nov 07, 2025
delpee:
The bulk of the Sokoto-Badagry expressway lies within the North.

This is one meeting. It's wise to look at all the approved/ongoing projects for proper perspective.

PMB stopped Ibadan - Abuja rail line and the SE line in favor of Kano- Maradi rail line. He favored the North more in every way.
Who started and completed the only standard gauge railway in the south west?
PoliticsRe: South-West FEC Meeting: Salihu Yakasai Criticises Lopsided Projects Distribution by U09ce: 11:22pm On Nov 07, 2025
Shawarmagirl:
Yorubas will be shouting 'IT IS THE TURN OF THE SOUTH'. But in reality, all projects goes to South West.

The North should shut up and face their front. When Buhari was doing it, they accepted it and throw blind eyes just as South West accept it now and throw blind eyes. Another President from another region will eventually emerge and the Yoruba will come and wail as the North is Wailing now.
Tell us one project Buhari did in the north that doesn't have an equivalent in the south

CrimeRe: Scammers, Mules To Be Caned After Victims In Singapore Lose Almost $4 Billion by U09ce: 11:11pm On Nov 04, 2025
Good one from Singapore. If it were a muslim country that punishes by flogging, phobes will have come blazing with vitriol. Countries should set whatever sanctions they think will serve as deterrent even if it's death sentence. It's one key think lacking in Nigeria and that's why we've been in a quagmire in long time. If not for public pressure, the president would have amnestied convicted criminals who ordinarily should have gone to the gallows.

only 20 people selected in the whole ministry but I can swear that over 20 people received credit alerts for this TRAINING.
Is it a crime to to be paid allowances? If you were there, won't you collect?

By the way, that plant isn't eco-friendly evident by the black solid particles hanging around its atmosphere. Yes, the plant is a good progress in terms of Nigeria's steel development but let the ministry address the air pollution issue
PoliticsRe: CPC Blacklist: 12 Nigerian Governors, Other Officials May Face US Sanctions by U09ce: 7:59am On Nov 03, 2025
Just imagine o. Nonsensical democracy. You guys said it's government of the people. The people said they want some of their issues according to the dictates of their religion, yet younow tag them as extremists. Sharia courts are meant for muslims because customary courts do not cover their needs.
For those stoking the embers of hatred against their country men, you're free to continue. When the wahala comes striking, it's a free for all.
PoliticsRe: Youth Empowerment Programme Of Roni LGA Chairman In Jigawa by U09ce: 11:09pm On Nov 02, 2025
The problem I see here is the PR. How much is water carts that you need to organize a fanfare like this. As for empowering people with a source of livelihood, I see no wrong here. Just because someone is a cart pusher or porter doesn't mean he wouldn't go to school. A cart pusher in a good location can fetch more than the 70k minimum wage that many struggle to get. Better to be a menial worker than to be a criminal element.

BusinessRe: Re 15% Tariff: Why The Federal Government Memo Gets Everything Wrong by U09ce: 7:21pm On Oct 30, 2025
VOsimhen144:
I feel this a Good news for the economy, bad news for fuel importers.

We have Dangote refinery which has even expanded to become the world's largest refinery. Why are we still importing fuel when we have local refinery ? BUA is almost completing his own too.. this will make our Naira stronger against the dollars while we also earn more of foreign exchange by exporting the products abroad which Dangote has already started exporting to the United States.

The fuel importers can also avoid this fuel import Tax by building local refinery here to compete against Dangote thereby creating a competitive market environment which will eventually crash the price of the products totally
You say the refinery has expanded? You think say na balloon?
