Very true. It is a case of calling the kettle black. The governance in the south isn't any better than that in the North. Infact, the north is doing far better in infrastructure than the south(which is averagely richer in terms of monetary receipts). Kidnapping , robbery and militancy have been happening to in southern states for many years before such crimes penetrated the north. Yet you barely northerners stereotyping their southern counterparts as criminals.

Let's prioritize the teacher over the infrastructure. Both are super important, but the former ranks higher. In our case, politicians are always happy to be dishing out contracts for rebuilding schools(the ones that that are lucky to be noticed). They do it largely for optics not for the real education. You'd see a school with fairly new infrastructure but the quality of education is terrible.
Let there be pilot schemes to evaluate efficiency of contracting the operations of public schools to the private sector with strict regulation to ensure that workers are not abused. Another option is for the govt can also look at the option of engaging private inspectors whose job is to monitor and evaluate all public schools.

It's unethical the way this estate is been brandished. If the govt had no ulterior motive they'd have approved the project under the national judicial council which is the financially autonomous entity that oversees the judiciary. Same thing happens in state govt where SUVs are given to judges in public glare. This democracy na just for mouth. There's no separation of powers and it's not the government of the people because the LGs have been denied their constitutional roles

This is what you get when you prioritize quantity over quality. Tens of new federal hospitals have been established while the pioneer tertiary hospitals are not well cared for. Why would a hospital like UCH be suffering energy shortage? The govt should earmark key social institutions and isolate them from this energy banding issue.
