Hi guys, greetings to you all.

Please help me through.

I'm kind of new in domain business (even though I have gone through paid training).

I registered this domain for sale and trying to list it on Sedo. Done that but it's asking me to do Domain Ownership Verification.

This is where I'm getting it confused. How do I do it?
Simply point your nameservers to Sedo's nameservers and wait at least about 30 minutes to one hour. I guess that's probably more straightforward than using ownership verification code.

Note that either method may still not work for days in some cases and you'd then need to contact Sedo support for help.

Is anybody here having the kind of experience I am having on Z (the registrar)?

The experience has left more to be desired (frustrating, actually) when I decided to test their COM offer. Sometimes, I needed to reload a page up to six times or more before it opened. At other times, I got "Unavailable" for domains that were available and I couldn't seem to find any way around it.

Any tips on how to get around these issues? I use Firefox as my main/default browser.

Don't be afraid. Just be good in your area of engineering. Continue to build on your knowledge and gain useful experience. Most of all, commit your ways to God.

Yours happen to be among the less-saturated career fields, I think.

Not only you. If money was not an issue, I'd be using only Dynadot right now. But I transfer certain domains I registered elsewhere to them at renewal.

Hey guys, it's been a while.

I made a tool a few years back for searching for available domains in bulk. It's been a bit dormant for a while. Updated the UI recently and it's open for anyone to use. Hopefully it helps you guys in your grind for domains.

The website is www(.)geodomaintools(.)com

Geodomaintools(.)com

Take a look and let me know what you think
Good one, bro! Best wishes.

For now, na ED I get business with. Any money I get laidis na to enter the place. smiley

I complained here some days ago that I have been losing sales at a rate that I have never experienced before. Today, I found out that Godaddy is the one causing it. If you do outbound, do not use Afternic.

You will give a buyer a price and send them a link, and they will see a different price, higher than what you told them. How would they proceed when something like this happens?

BrandUche told me, but I brushed it off only to check the 5% link that I sent and saw a price higher than what I agreed with the buyer.

Now, I have to move some of these domains out of Afternic. If buyer goes on to buy the domain name at Godaddy when I use a different lander, i will make sure the price other is 30% higher.
That's Afternic/GoDaddy for you! Unfortunately, as I have repeatedly stated, I found them to be a necessary evil. Majority of my sales - especially inbound (including those I previously did outbound for) - happen there.

I observed something similar the only time I successfully used that feature. Those extra charges were only added after they stopped using DAN for Custom Checkout, by the way. I proposed Atom as an alternative when I noticed those charges in my case but the buyer preferred to use GoDaddy all the same. Well, maybe it's because I agreed to sell the particular domain for less than half of my asking price.

Part of the extra charges is for renewal (~$22) but Afternic support couldn't convincingly explain the rest to me when contacted.

You may also suggest Atom, DaaZ, or any other platform that you prefer for these transactions to end users as an alternative.

Congrats on the sales, bro!

As an aside, don't you think these suggest you'll be better off just using Afternic landers. You're losing money by not doing so.

Afternic is still a necessary "evil," as I indicated in the Geo sale post I made about two weeks ago.

Source: ED
SP: $350 (BIN)
Type: Outbound
Venue: Afternic
HT: ~6 months

All thanks to God!

This sale seems to re-emphasise two things:

1. Afternic is still a necessary "evil", with their high commissions plus charges.
2. You may never really know what could sell!

After DAN shut, I used the landers of Atom and DaaZ for outbound domains until February ending (and left the nameservers there unchanged) but no single sale. I decided to change the landers of some of those domains to Afternic and follow up again (since the leads were in Google Sheets already), just to keep my email address "hot" while I wait to do outbound for a few domains remaining and then stop. This sold the following day after contacting potential end users again - saw an immediate click the previous day.

The name didn't meet my requirements that much, but I just decided to take a punt. I have "better" names at or around the same price still unsold. Laidis sef I am taking a break from active outbound marketing.

Nah, I don't think so. It could be personal, though. Boston is one of the cities that I am also having similar misgiving about; I strangely like it, but it's being long I sold a name for that city.

Jacksonville is actually one of the cities I like because I have sold at least two domains including the city - one of which used the shorter form "Jax."

BusinessRe: How CBEX Promoters Used EFCC, CAC Certificates To Deceive 600,000 Investors by U1(m): 8:25am On Apr 21, 2025
Forget, I don't think all these certificates count for much (if anything) when investing in Nigeria. This is not the first time I'd see or hear them issued to companies with dubious investment schemes.

Surprisingly, practically all the time I don't get to hear about these HYIPs when the going seemed good. I only learnt about this one after it crashed, for instance.

However, I have lost money to investments that seemed more credible and offered lower returns. smiley Anything that involves parting with my money in Nigeria without getting an immediate service or product don't excite me anymore.

Did you do outbound after the renewal?
No. I don't contact end-users after renewal. I just wait. I think I did that in the past with some domains, but I have long stopped since it didn't yield results.

My approach now is more of reaching out, following up everyone once (unless I get a reply), and then waiting. Outbound campaigns don taya me.

And this one Today tho went on hold yesterday

Producer/Flow

Sp: 4888

Cost: 5$ Ed drop at z,com

Can't remember but maybe I regged for the guys on useproducer/flow I don forget..

Thats Why I don't gaf about my pricing cause during my survey times both students or end users will pay people up to 2000$ just to say yes or no to if their product is good.and explain why .... Even broke geo businesses did it too . Plumbers asking wat should we do to change our business....

February was always empty for me with no sales each year until this year ..
I have no 4 letter domains either...

Thank you!

Inasmuch as I don't like price hikes, we should also be realistic. Are things getting cheaper in the country? Blame your so-called leaders!

Some people stated that the company used the excuse of exchange rate despite the current rate being lower than in previous months. But have power and Telco tariffs, among others, also not increased since then? Even BRT fares in Lagos were increased last week!

Let's be realistic. Effects of massive disruptions such as subsidy removal and exchange rate deregulation (combined) aren't one-time or short-term.

BusinessRe: Naira Plummets To N1,745/$1, Traders Blame Speculators by U1(m): 8:31pm On Dec 11, 2024
This country is just a joke.

When I saw the Naira appreciate to N1665/$ from around N1735 (on a fintech app) following the introduction of the EFEMS last week, something told me to just sit back and watch since it's not like the country is now producing or exporting more - that's the major way I think this debacle can be overcome.

Then I saw N1519/$ to sell on the same app on Monday. I was like, "seriously?", so I just looked away. Fast forward to today (just two days later) and the rate had increased by more than N160!

Many, or some, of us really want the Naira to appreciate. But the government needs to be seen to be doing what matters most to encourage production, including providing security. Imagine people being killed or kidnapped on their farms, for instance.

If production increases and inflation drops, I don't mind having dollar exchanged for N200. What's important is getting value for money.

I don't think that's the issue though. I also noticed that the renewal price they add to the listed price is not stable. I have a domain showing $21.99 for renewal on the checkout page.
That's actually the standard renewal cost for .com at GoDaddy. Their prices are a major turn-off for me.

As to the prices of listings being higher than what you stipulated, I'd suggest you bring that to the attention of their support team. I think I read something similar on X weeks ago. I'll wait until I detect something similar.
PoliticsRe: New Bill Mandates Tax ID For Opening Bank Accounts by U1(m): 8:30am On Oct 24, 2024
Just heard about this yesterday! smiley

Paying tax is not even the problem. Everyone in the position to do so should consider paying.

But the main problem is: how much benefit will the ordinary man paying get in return? Nothing other than some people up there embezzling money and going practically scot-free, plus extravagant expenditures by these corrupt office holders.

If you protest about the embezzlements and bad governance, you get arrested for "attempting to overthrow the government." So where's the incentive for wanting to pay direct taxes? undecided

These yeye lawmakers can easily propose crazy laws. But to propose and pass laws that will improve the well-being of the "common man," including reducing their exorbitant and ridiculous compensations, no! angry

Hello everyone,

I was actually looking for ways to make money online as a side hustle and then I came across this thread but the problem is it's a long one and I don't even know where to start from but I have interest in this as a side hustle and I am willing to learn step by step until I get my first 100$

Therefore as a newbie here I am and pleading to point me in a direction to start learning from on this thread.

I would be glad if I can get the juice out of this. Help a broke brother to take a step 🙏🙏

Thank you everyone
The thread is a "long one," but you still have to read through it. A couple of suggestions:

1. Try to read at least the first 10-20 pages to have an idea of what this is about - some would say read the first 100 pages or everything. If anything is unclear as you read, use Google for better comprehension - you may add the operator "site:namepros.com" to your searches (without the quotes). Take notes!

2. Consider contacting the thread starter for a guide or training to make your learning faster. You'll still need to read this thread and other resources to build your knowledge further.

Did you see any yellow sign and/or a flag in the payment notification in your account? If you did, then you need to pass a verification for the amount to be fully credited to your account.

Perhaps, you should post a screenshot of the transaction. Better still, contact Grey directly.

They only agreed to pay out in EUR more than a month after the sale and a failure in sending the payout successfully to my FCMB Dom account.

Pls which address you use for the first page after picking united states? And did they ask for tax form?

@U1 and @Gpexchange need your help here.

Thanks
I honestly don't know why you're getting the request for tax ID. Maybe you are doing something wrong or wait for anyone that did theirs recently. I did mine back in 2021; maybe something has changed, but I don't think so. 🤨

I think there was an option to indicate that I wasn't based in the US back then, so I didn't need any tax form.

Did you use a Nigerian address as your home address? And did you set your account to receive payment in a different country? Grey address is not your home address, but that of your US bank.

Looking at the screenshot by gentlekeny, they're requesting for an organizational tax ID. I operate as an individual, so that's irrelevant to me. I saw a prompt regarding that yesterday or so when I checked Afternic and I simply dismissed it.

Now that DAN is left to ruin. Some alternatives Landers for low $xyz sales . I'll be updating the thread:

1. Efty

2. Namepros

3. DomainEasy: looks like DAN with zero commission.

4. Daaz: 5% commission. Low budget DAN. But works well. Like you can even hire a broker to help you follow up a lead.

5. Sawsells: 15% commission. Looks very promising. Clean UI. The only problem on checkout buyers have to pay 3% commission if they use credit card on the amount of domain purchases. That is if buyer buys a domain of $3K plus will pay additional $75 if they use credit card.

6. AfterMarket: Looks promising as hell. They acquired domain/Io and they will offer all those features in domain/io for free. Their commission rate seems to be 10%. UI looks clean as well.

7. Atom: 7% commission. Innovative & comes with several options.

Open to corrections, additions and further inputs.
Nice summary!

However, I think I read sometime ago that DaaZ had increased their fee to 9%. Just somewhat confirmed that again after doing some searches. I believe the 5% fee is now for imported leads.
