A major reason I decided to experiment with turning off Make Offer for most domains priced lower than 2500 this year -- like >90% of $1k+ and almost 100% of those lower than $1k.

I had read several articles over the years on how domain purchases of 2-3k and lower were impulse purchases. So I wan test am this year. If I get an offer from contacting a lead directly, I could consider it.

The other day, Afternic Sales team contacted to let me know an offer had been made for a listing priced 1k. Told the broker to get the best deal and that my minimum was 750. He came back with a best offer of 700 days later and I told him to accept. The lead ghosted. Domain way I don plan to hike the price at renewal long before the offer came.

I had to enquire about how the offer was made because I think I didn't enable Make Offer for the listing. They told me it was by phone.

I think it's safe, but I don't know your definition of "safe."

I made my first withdrawal to a NGN account last week. It was super fast (took only seconds) and saved me a little more money, compared to using Grey.

I just discovered last month that such a transaction was possible after I contacted them to find out why they're displaying NGN rate. They had told me they don't send money to Nigeria, even this year (around February). They claimed they only just resumed recently.

I registered 6 names so far, suddenly the stopped registering my names, when I contacted them, they said my payment method (grey card) isn't secure.

Try linking the Grey card to PayPal and use that method instead. Personally, I no longer feel comfortable adding my card details to sites if I have the PayPal option - Dynadot is the exception.

I have actually gone ahead to register a few names there. The only problem is that they haven't credited the money I first deposited for account credit, yet they're accepting payments for direct purchases from the same PayPal account that I used.

Just found out they currently have a promo, plus they seem to be supported for Afternic Fast Transfer. But the experience by AY and what I later read online make me somewhat hesitant.

I even discovered I registered an account with them back in 2016. Never registered a single domain there but feeling like giving them a shot. Is it advisable, please?

It's not a .ai domain; don't own even one.

When you see "in king," it means .com - the "king" of domain extensions. The slashes separate the keywords.

Of course, yes! I could have actually just directed you there by replying with "Google is your friend." But some people would take that as an insult instead of just learning. You can get answer to like at least 90% of questions simply using Google!

In this case, just search for a term like "domain ownership verification Sedo." You should see articles and videos from different sources, including Sedo itself.

I registered this domain for sale and trying to list it on Sedo. Done that but it's asking me to do Domain Ownership Verification.

This is where I'm getting it confused. How do I do it?

Simply point your nameservers to Sedo's nameservers and wait at least about 30 minutes to one hour. I guess that's probably more straightforward than using ownership verification code.

Note that either method may still not work for days in some cases and you'd then need to contact Sedo support for help.

Is anybody here having the kind of experience I am having on Z (the registrar)?

The experience has left more to be desired (frustrating, actually) when I decided to test their COM offer. Sometimes, I needed to reload a page up to six times or more before it opened. At other times, I got "Unavailable" for domains that were available and I couldn't seem to find any way around it.

Any tips on how to get around these issues? I use Firefox as my main/default browser.

Don't be afraid. Just be good in your area of engineering. Continue to build on your knowledge and gain useful experience. Most of all, commit your ways to God.

Yours happen to be among the less-saturated career fields, I think.

Not only you. If money was not an issue, I'd be using only Dynadot right now. But I transfer certain domains I registered elsewhere to them at renewal.

I complained here some days ago that I have been losing sales at a rate that I have never experienced before. Today, I found out that Godaddy is the one causing it. If you do outbound, do not use Afternic.

You will give a buyer a price and send them a link, and they will see a different price, higher than what you told them. How would they proceed when something like this happens?

BrandUche told me, but I brushed it off only to check the 5% link that I sent and saw a price higher than what I agreed with the buyer.

Now, I have to move some of these domains out of Afternic. If buyer goes on to buy the domain name at Godaddy when I use a different lander, i will make sure the price other is 30% higher.

That's Afternic/GoDaddy for you! Unfortunately, as I have repeatedly stated, I found them to be a necessary evil. Majority of my sales - especially inbound (including those I previously did outbound for) - happen there.

I observed something similar the only time I successfully used that feature. Those extra charges were only added after they stopped using DAN for Custom Checkout, by the way. I proposed Atom as an alternative when I noticed those charges in my case but the buyer preferred to use GoDaddy all the same. Well, maybe it's because I agreed to sell the particular domain for less than half of my asking price.

Part of the extra charges is for renewal (~$22) but Afternic support couldn't convincingly explain the rest to me when contacted.

You may also suggest Atom, DaaZ, or any other platform that you prefer for these transactions to end users as an alternative.

This sale seems to re-emphasise two things:

1. Afternic is still a necessary "evil", with their high commissions plus charges.
2. You may never really know what could sell!

After DAN shut, I used the landers of Atom and DaaZ for outbound domains until February ending (and left the nameservers there unchanged) but no single sale. I decided to change the landers of some of those domains to Afternic and follow up again (since the leads were in Google Sheets already), just to keep my email address "hot" while I wait to do outbound for a few domains remaining and then stop. This sold the following day after contacting potential end users again - saw an immediate click the previous day.

The name didn't meet my requirements that much, but I just decided to take a punt. I have "better" names at or around the same price still unsold. Laidis sef I am taking a break from active outbound marketing.

Nah, I don't think so. It could be personal, though. Boston is one of the cities that I am also having similar misgiving about; I strangely like it, but it's being long I sold a name for that city.

Jacksonville is actually one of the cities I like because I have sold at least two domains including the city - one of which used the shorter form "Jax."

Forget, I don't think all these certificates count for much (if anything) when investing in Nigeria. This is not the first time I'd see or hear them issued to companies with dubious investment schemes.

Surprisingly, practically all the time I don't get to hear about these HYIPs when the going seemed good. I only learnt about this one after it crashed, for instance.

However, I have lost money to investments that seemed more credible and offered lower returns. Anything that involves parting with my money in Nigeria without getting an immediate service or product don't excite me anymore.

No. I don't contact end-users after renewal. I just wait. I think I did that in the past with some domains, but I have long stopped since it didn't yield results.

My approach now is more of reaching out, following up everyone once (unless I get a reply), and then waiting. Outbound campaigns don taya me.
