Please does anyone understand what could be in the minds of these buyers?

I screenshot these several days ago, maybe even over a week.

A guarantor is not needed when you are renewing your Nigerian passport.

To validate your NIN:
Download the Nimc official mobile app from the app store and open it. Enter your eleven-digit nin number in the space provided for you and your mobile number will appear. Click on the next button to proceed. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number displayed.
Thank you!

Sir, sorry to disturb you again. Please are you sure that a guarantor isn't needed?

I just saw that it's included under "Instructions" on the Appointment Slip, as seen in the attached screenshot.

And, please what does "NIN MUST be validated"? How's that done?

Oh, thanks!

Does that mean you used a photo produced with your phone for the online application, please?

Please one more thing. Must the two passport photographs be the same as the one required when applying online?

I'm thinking of using an image taken with my phone, even though I have clear, well-lit passport photographs with white background.

When I uploaded a captured copy of the passport photo, I got complaints of ICAO proper lighting issues. Yet, I do not think a passport photo can be brighter than the one I had.

Note that I snapped the physical passport using my phone (instead of scanning). My phone has sharp cameras. I even had to turn on flash light to see if that would make a difference but none. So I was thinking if I could just take a photograph with my phone.

Yes, someone can...
Please I wish to know if a guarantor is still needed for a passport renewal?

From my readings and research, I think I would need NIN, birth certificate/age declaration, and local government certificate. But I am not clear on the guarantor aspect yet.

Thanks in anticipation.

Congratulations.
You can still list your new domains first on Dan and then Afternic separately without issues. Very simple procedure. If you list on Dan first, don't set the BIN price. Just MO. After listing successfully on Afternic, you then set the Dan BIN price. With this, you wouldn't have "existing listing" issues on Afternic.
Thanks, boss. That's a good idea!

Please how can one send automated customized message using Gmail please?

Please respond to this ....urgent please
If it's still relevant, you need a Chrome or Google Docs add-on on a laptop to do that - to the best of my knowledge. I am assuming you want to send bulk, customised emails.

If that's the case, YAMM and MailMeteor are two of the ones that still offers 50 free sends per day (24 hours). Read their documentation for information on customisation tags.

Massive Congratulations on your sales, boss. For the Afternic sales, did you use Afternic nameservers? And do you list separately?
Thanks, boss.

Yeah, I listed separately but DAN nameservers were used. I used to list new acquisitions separately until around last April/May when I stopped due to inconvenience on Afternic.

I usually listed on DAN first due to promptness and often run into "existing listing" issues on Afternic when listing there. If I reported the existing listings, it usually took them some days to get a response and that might even be them asking for proof of ownership and waiting even longer. In a few cases, listing first on DAN was the cause of the problem.

Remaining First-Quarter Sales (February to March)

Name: Net//Powr (in king)

Venue: Afternic
HT: 23+ months

Name: Fairways//Capital (in king)

Venue: Afternic
HT: 19 months

Name: ai//pproach (in king)

Venue: DAN
HT: 10 months

Name: Davie//Garage//Doors (in king)
Source: ED
SP: $350 (BIN)
Type: Inbound
Venue: DAN (via Distribution Network)
HT: 3 days

The first name was part of the domains I discounted along with the "play//bettr" name that I reported for the fourth quarter of last year.

As for the Fairways sale, it came less than 24 hours after the sale of the first name. I had decided to do an experiment that involved discounting certain names for a limited period (about two weeks). The domain sold a week to the day I applied the discount. (Although I generated the name, I found out that it had been registered and dropped in the past).

The ai//pproach name was a punt inspired by a reported sale of a similar word form. Many of the names I checked then were available, but I registered only three partly because I hadn't made a sale for almost three months at the time. It didn't even occur to me to share in case some people might be interested here. Practically all the good ones seem gone now.

There's another $495 LTO sales not included here because I have only received the first installment. I am mentioning it simply because it appeared the previous owner was trying to sell it for like six years without success. But I took the punt because the name looked promising to me and God did the rest!

Glory to God! More sales for all of us in Jesus name.

I think I have read similar post(s) by the fellow in the past on X. But I have yet to buy into it, especially being resident in Nigeria.

It's a piece of advice that you could consider if you don't have a Nigerian address in your WHOIS information. But that's even exclusively for outbound purposes, in my opinion.

Paraman:
Why do you think so?
If I may help with that, the country is exporting almost nothing apart from fuel. Even the petroleum products are being stolen!

Let a serious government start by working on just two things, power and security, and the bulk of this mess would be resolved. Other amenities like good road networks may follow those two.

It's when people produce that they can "export" and bring in foreign currency. Nigerians are even still clamouring for food importation despite all that God has endowed us with in this country - in part due to poor security and below-par power supply.

It is unsustainable to keep on pumping foreign currency into the market without it being used for productive activities. The funds could still end up with the same hoarders or another set.

Good morning.

Has anyone here managed to sell a domain name that has higher-than-usual monthly views? I know some of these views may just be from bots.

The typical highest monthly views on my most-viewed domains (on Dan) are in the range 20-60. It's, therefore, unusual (for me) when you see a domain name doing 100-300 views in a month. I have two of such currently.

The first domain name that I experienced something similar with didn't sell in three years! At a time, I pointed it to a platform that showed ads on landing pages; I didn't earn a dime! That domain was a Geo, but the current two are not.

Please can someone advise me on what best to do with these domains?

Angelfrost:
Well, a floated currency not propped by loans is meant to fluctuate depending on how demand and supply affect it.

The aim now should be increasing the demand for the Naira whilst diminishing the need for foreign currencies.

This can only happen if importation is largely reduced in favor of exports.

Local production and consumption remain the way forward.
You meant the Naira that's already everywhere chasing fewer products. Or how else would you describe getting significantly lesser value for the same amount of money?

If local production is ongoing and ramped up (at affordable costs), demand for imports could reduce - especially that for food.

But, when the government doesn't encourage that local production with necessary amenities and adequate security, what are we talking about? undecided

Again, you keep referring to unverifiable claims, hearsays, half-truths etc.Have your monies in the bank and pay taxes for it, nothing wrong with that. And l am not saying there aren't some few bad eggs in the system but that ain't any excuse or reason to not make amends on banking laws or directives.l won't want to delve on lists of global economies but l can tell you that, most economies do tax anymore that has a minimum of 10.000 dollars on your account Even those hiding their monies through stock, index fund etc are oblige to pay huge taxes.
Regarding the bold section, if you cannot even mention a single economy as an example of those "functional economies" that would take such an action that you proposed, then there's no point in bringing that up to start with.

I can boldly tell you that no democratic or elected government would tax investment (stock, index fund etc). They would only tax the gain or returns from it, not the capital.

If you have ever gotten savings interests, put money in fixed deposit, or invested in stock/mutual funds, you'd know that tax is paid on just the profit. That's standard practice! The percentage of tax may only differ from one place to another.

You seem to already have your mind made up. So there's no need for any back and forth. Just believe what you choose to believe. With time, you may know better.
BusinessRe: Banks Induce Customers On Conversion Of Dollar Deposits To Naira by U1(m): 6:44pm On Feb 17, 2024
Tendd:
I am talking of increased hoarding and speculation which is one of the motives for people to keep such a huge sum of money. Most functional economies in the world would never allow that much money to lie there without being taxed or changed to their currencies.
I am not saying the government should confiscate people's money and it's always your choice to look for other alternatives to save your money.
Other things you mentioned like kidnapping, Unknown gunmen, mining etc are hearsay or rumours that can not be substantiated and even at it, shouldn't be use as an excuse to not proffer solutions to improve the economy of the country.
Did you really think those who illegally "hoard" foreign currency - like all these corrupt politicians - keep them in banks? I can vouch that the bulk of the foreign currencies in banks are from legal dealings. So you want people to be taxed for simply saving their money in a more stable currency?

On the bold section, could you give examples of functional economies that have made such a move? I doubt you'd even be able to name one because they won't let their money lose value as much as the Naira has. So there's no need for such an action to start with.

So you still think that kidnappings, illegal mining, oil bunkering etc being sponsored by influential people in the country is mere rumour? Even without being told, shouldn't you have been able to figure that out? I don't believe that hypothesis because people merely suggested it; it's simply hard to think otherwise!
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal And Naira Floating, Why Same Time? by U1(m): 2:58pm On Feb 14, 2024
nairalanda1:
Painfully, (a point that has been made by many here) we don't have the cash to do so

Debt, incurred by defending the naira in times past, paying for subsides, corruption, and by the chronically low oil prices since 2014, is why we no longer have the money.

Either the government starts taxing everyone, or we pray for a miracle...or we do something close to what is being done now.
As much as I agree with much of what you've written on this thread, I have slight reservations about the bold part.

To pay tax is the duty of every citizen, I agree. But how do you get encouraged to do that when corrupt people in positions of authority seem to be in a competition of who can loot the most? Yet, they go practically scot-free!

By the way, there's hardly anybody that doesn't pay tax in this country. Income tax isn't the only type of tax. How judicious has the government been with what it collected in the past?

January '24 Sales

Name: Lake//Oconee//Rental (in king)
Source: ED
SP: $650 (BIN)
Type: Outbound/Inbound
Venue: Afternic
HT: 22+ months (one-year renewal)

Name: Denver//Puppy//Training (in king)
Source: ED
SP: $250 (BIN $495)
Type: Outbound
Venue: DAN
HT: 2 months

Name: Mobile//Pet//Doctor (in king)
Source: ED
SP: $995 (BIN)
Type: Inbound
Venue: DAN (via Distribution Network)
HT: 60 days

I decided to not wait to do a quarterly report for these ones. This is about the highest number of sales I had quarterly last year.

The Lake Oconee name sold after previous outbound efforts seemed to have failed. It came through on 1 January, the following day after my last sale in the previous quarter. I once discounted the price to $300 (in 2022) and even did fresh outbound much later (2023), but no show before this sale.

The Denver sale was one of my easier ones. It sold after following up on the first email. Buyer offered the sale price in reply; I countered with 399, but they maintained 250. The only person who showed interest after the first email didn't respond to follow-up emails - she later did after the sale. Lesson: follow up always (at least one time in the worst case scenario).

I wasn't aware of the pet doctor sale until almost 24 hours later when DAN sent me a reminder with a 24-hour "ultimatum." Gmail somehow didn't notify me and I didn't check my inbox, partly because it was a Sunday. I shock say na this kain sale I for miss. cheesy

Glory to God!

You have a decade worth of experience which many of us cannot boast. That counts for something. There is definitely something for you out there.

If you are not shy and are humble, I believe there are things you can do around that could at least put food on your table for the meantime. With food out of the question, the burden is less.
