X users, I have been getting a lot of spam followers in recent weeks. They usually have "foreign" female pictures and no posts, with hints of being used for adult-related purposes. Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's strange because I primarily created this X account for domain and maybe other money-making topics. Plus, I don't comment on romance, dating, or Nigerian issues with the account.

You're right. But I guess that's the style that God allows to work for him. Names that seemingly have no "obvious" end-users sell after all.

I'm a little confused how some people here were able to register such and even sold them. I understood domain privacy didn't apply to this extension.

Using names like: SexyCynthia247 @ Gmail.com or other stuffs that are not branded or portrays you as a domainer is minus in your outboundings.

I honestly don't keep tabs on portfolio size. But I think it's currently between 500 and 600, judging by domain counts at different registrars. That number includes all extensions and domains that have expired/in redemption period.

I can say portfolio size doesn't matter much, though. It's about quality and grace. I have seen people with significantly lower portfolio sizes making more regular or high-figure sales. God has been good all the same!

The "counselor" sale is my second-lowest so far; the lowest was $69 back around when I started making sales. I did a one-day discount price of $100. The one person who responded later in the day offered $75 and I accepted, provided they paid within a limited time. When I looked at the search stat file weeks later, I felt I greatly undersold. But it's still a gain, so I move.

The Atlanta sale was a curious one. When I saw the Afternic email, I was so happy. But when I saw the sale price, the happiness reduced. I had that domain priced at $495 and pointed to DAN! Initially, I couldn't remember how the price was set to $150 at Afternic; even when I offered a discount during outbound, it was $299. I later found out that I had reduced the price along with those of some other domains that would be due for renewal by February; forgot to change it there after the renewal. I had to quickly go and check my Afternic portfolio after the sale and couldn't find any other domain priced so low. The buyer was lucky. 🤨 To cap it all, I have not received the payout 20 days after!

That Atlanta sale was the only one I had in June.

AFAIK there's nothing you can do about those failure delivery emails. You will keep receiving them daily until the hours indicated fully elapsed.

I usually set a filter to have those emails sent to the bin folder automatically. I check the bin folder, as necessary, to see what's there.

I have never managed to sell what I might consider better domain names to businesses in Canada - not one, even for 99 bucks! And to think that this name seems available in the .ca extension. Wow, God is wonderful!

People use it here. But wait until you need to renew the domain name, if you wish to, the price fit make you think twice.

Recently, I had to do what I don't usually like doing: I transferred the remaining four domains I had registered for 7.16 each at NC to Dynadot. The renewal price was a major turn-off.

What is your preferred company for backordering?

I have not successfully backordered a domain name so far. The closest I came to doing that was around 2021/2022 when I tried Sav, but I found they're somewhat useless - I manually registered available domains faster than they could attempt it.

By the way, as a follow-up to my previous post, I found the domains I made reference to were caught at Network Solutions, Domain.com, and NameBright. The NetSol one was listed for 1975 at DAN and the NameBright one was at HugeDomains for 5595 - locksmith names for cities of about 60,000 people.

In other news, the way people are backordering expired domains right now ehn no be small thing!

So I noticed that I haven't been able to get any decent domains for registration on the drop for days now. Today, I decided to try check Pending Delete list for the first time in a long while. Every single domain I added to watchlist was caught!

The interesting thing was that some of the saved domains weren't that exciting. They included two geo locksmith names and a "generic" dog domain. I had high hopes on similar domains (some with other taken extensions) months ago, registered them, and they're all still in my portfolio without any notable interest. So na that kain name I wan dey backorder?

My people, let's backorder with sense o. If na names wey go sell for high hundreds or thousands I for hear. Well, I still be learner sha.

This is why you should get a professional email, it doesn't still mean that you won't make sales with free email.... just to be on safe side, some endusers won't even bother telling you this

If you meant a self-hosted email address, I'd say that's no guarantee of anything based on personal experience.

I have used several of those over the years. Last year, I even paid for DreamHost unlimited hosting plan partly so I could test emailing with custom email addresses for some domains I had for sale. None sold.

Prior to last year, I also observed at a time that after sending a few sets of emails, Gmail started marking the associated domain name (not just the email address) as spam. You can figure the rest.

Even many of these end-users use Gmail addresses for their businesses. Anyone who's ready to buy will do so without all this stress. You may provide them a proof of ownership - maybe a screenshot showing the particular domain name at your registrar.

Out of those options, I only use Payoneer. But I would suggest you use Grey for easy conversion. I still convert my Payoneer funds through Grey.

There are those who would send you a DM (if they have a means for doing so) and offer you some domains you probably won't register for hundreds of dollars while knowing you're also a domainer.

This is interesting. So dentists still buy domain names? I had some great city+dentist/dentistry names that never sold, including for fairly big cities. I even renewed a city+ST+dentist domain name twice years ago - it never sold.

The problem is just knowing what to price high and what to keep low or moderate. If only I knew that, I would have the guts. I assume you'd agree with me that such high prices aren't feasible in all industries (or so I think).

You know sometimes I actually wonder to myself how I am going to make high-figure sales when I don't even price my domains high. If only online domain valuators were at least 60% dependable, this might have been easier.
