200L you're basically doing basic medicals which if you fail, you resit few months later,fail again,you repeat another year otherwise step down. So even if you're zero in reading,if you can conc. after your resit while repeating another year,you'll be move to 300L(MB part1 exams). Reasons you have old guys who suppose to finish 6yrs ago staying until 8yrs not done.. because they had resit to cleared.

For text books,I don't remember buying one,your friends has textbooks,you also sign and get them in the library,so spending huge money here is also totally false. I fact Medical students enjoy most opportunities open in the school. Get your fact right.

Finally, advice for the OP, follow the school trends,and how your other colleagues read,attend lectures, submit assignments and practical,then Read! I repeat Read! No body is king in medicine, you can't know everything, as such you'll always see brains even better than you, but if you're able to get C's, you're good to proceed.

Me and few of my colleagues do part time jobs like UI/UX design, coding and some lesson teachers in one or two places earning atleast 50k-70k monthly,some into content writing, blogging,Forex,and still doing good with studies. The thing is that you give 70% In your studies and 30% others. What you're doing at hand are part of your skills to build your CV and also keep you going. The main one is your professional career you're pursuing. Keep doing both.

Lastly,as one of my Lecturer in Anatomy-Histo class will say after playing Westlife song-"Am flying without wings". School is not for everyone,but if you're opportune to travel out,leave Nigeria please. There're so many opportunities in the USA, Europe,and even South Africa. Hello Nairalands, please share your experiences how you handle this tenant/landlord's problem. I'm currently having same issues and I'll also need your urgent support. Hope this doesn't go against Nairaland rules. I decided to bring it up here because it's only place outside our cattle racing assembly that we good citizens can share what affects us and get help without cattle bullying. Your brother is actually intimidated. I lost a good family member who usually help and am into banking work but got suspended last month. You know how the situation is irrespective of target options banks are sacking their workers except you have close tie with MD or belong to certain cult group among them (aka family) you can be retained. It's quite difficult I must say before bringing this up. My rent is due and my landlord is angry I should packed,or he'll seal the house today. I request good Nairalands to assist me. If 100 people support me with #500 atleast, I'll have #50,000 even before Saturday and settle my rent. Trust me I'll update everyone on this later. Lets keep praying for Nigeria, the system is bad, the government is one sided, the country is worst, parents are looking for alternative,Nigerians are traveling to Gambias, Senegal and it's really getting out of hand.
