Get your PVC for your life, your future and your right! What you do with it is your choice. Who built Onitsha mall? Who dredged Iyiagu river? Who built Amaku teaching hospital? Who build Anambra state university Igbariam campus? Who built over 500 kilometers road connecting different communities in Anambra? Who gave N3.5 billion to listed mission hospitals? Who purchased over 30,000 computers and distributed to schools across Anambra state? Who bought 1000 vehicles from Innoson..sharing to schools, security outfits and traditional rulers. Who gave many schools back to churches..thereby funding them directly and cutting off the ministry that swallow education funds? By this, standard of education was boosted and Anambra went from 26th to number one in WAEC. Who invested Anambra funds in Sabmiller that today, the dividends are so huge that Anambra is one of the highest share holders in the company? Who left his office without owing a single civil servant salary, pension or gratuity...nor owing any contractor that did his or her job? Who left 75billion naira for Anambra state in naira and dollars while leaving office and till today Anambra state has not given him a penny as gratuity or pension as an ex Governor? Politics / 2023: How Peter Obi Might Win by UBAHA(m): 11:51pm On Jun 05, 2022 |
While congratulating His Excellency Mr Peter Obi, for picking the Labour Party presidential ticket, one would seize the same opportunity to share some insights on how the man could win the 2023 presidential election. It will be a very tough contest and Peter Obi is coming into the fray as an underdog who has all the trappings of a dark horse. By the way, a dark horse is a contestant that on paper should be unlikely to succeed but yet still might, and Peter Obi is just typical. The way the nation’s politics is structured, it is a grand elite game and concentric circles of conspiracy. But the big question: is Peter Obi real or a fluke? The only way to prove that Peter Obi and his millions of supporters are real and mean business is by them going the whole hug and possibly winning the 2023 election, which will be difficult but not impossible. The conditions to make it happen are fairly in place. It is just about seizing the moment and making the beckoning history. Here are a few tips on what Peter Obi supporters need to do: the first step is registering and collecting the PVC. Unless over 70% of his supporters possess their PVCs and vote, their support will ultimately prove ineffectual and empty noise. Knocking on every door in Nigeria with localized and customized messages, possessing the PVC and voting are just the first steps. The next steps are even more crucial. Rigging is a permanent feature of Nigeria’s election and the APC and the PDP are masters of the game. Many of their leaders are its byproducts but there is something about the new electoral act that offers a leeway to checkmate them and that is an electronic transfer of results (where possible). The master riggers will try to force INEC officials to rely more on manual collations of results. Once Obi’s supporters allow this, figures will be manufactured. But if his supporters understand the game, they will start now to mobilize themselves to develop their databases in over 8,812 wards and over 120,001 polling units in the country. Knowing themselves based on wards and polling units will be an anchorage. That way, they will be there for one another, and therefore Peter Obi, and vote and ensure that their votes are counted and more important, the exact figures transmitted. With the aid of smartphones, they can snap the copies made available at the polling units and send them to Obi’s coordinators. It is also important to note that what happens on election days that affect the fortunes of candidates seriously is the buying off of party representatives. It is expected that most party representatives for the Labour Party in 2023 will be Obi’s supporters. But if they receive a few thousands of naira to throw Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration under the bus, the journey may well end there. But they can resist it. They also have to keep raising money to fund their own operations on election day. Obi may not be able to reach over 8,812 wards and over 120,001 polling units. Not that enough money will not be provided; but party officials will keep pilfering the money to the extent that what will get to the wards and polling units for the actual work, especially on election day, maybe less than trickles. Yes, Obi can be elected but it is not in his hands alone. His supporters have more to do if their man will carry the day in the likely hostile election, an election that means a battle of supremacy between the political elites and Nigerian masses with Peter Obi as an arrowhead. Luckily, the man has the requisite cognate experience, having served as a two-term governor of Anambra state, presidential adviser and chairman of a major federal parastatal. Obi, therefore, is not a neophyte and understands this game fairly well. The man is set to become a disruption, reminiscent of the coming of Emmanuel Macron of France to power. He has run a presidential campaign. In 2019, he was the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party he just dumped to take up a less fancied platform for obvious reasons. PDP’s ticket predictably and, as always, went up to the highest bidders and better conspirators. Peter Obi saw it clearly and had two options. To bid like the rest and bid to outbid them all or bail to save his honour and keep fidelity with his principles for which the masses love and now cluster around him. Many believe that Peter Obi does not have that kind of money to purchase delegates. Yet, arguably, Peter Obi is richer than these men, whose sources of funds are all traceable to the government, being either present or past government officials. Yes, Peter Obi was governor but was already a billionaire before then and refused to take any allowances or payments while serving as an adviser to the president of Nigeria and chairman of a federal parastatal. This means that while his rivals were ready to throw around money acquired while in government positions, Peter Obi would have to throw in his hard-earned money to purchase delegates. Some have argued that since that is the nature of Nigeria’s politics, Obi needed to play along and become presidential flag bearer or, at least, a vice. But walking away from such an Augean stable was what a man of principle ought to do and that was exactly what Peter Obi did. If he had descended into the arena of the PDP obscenely monetized primary (to borrow the words of Hayatu-Deen, one of the PDP aspirants who withdrew from the race hours to the show of shame), would have tarred Peter Obi with the same corruption brush. Obi proved that he is indeed the ‘poster boy’ of the kind of change Nigeria needs at the moment – Nigeria desperately needs to move into a paradigm that would switch the nation from consumption and production, and return power to the Nigerian people. At the moment, what is going on is nothing but a grand elite conspiracy and coronation of corruption. The Nigerian masses have been deceived and kept divided with religion and other primordial sentiments and it is time to say no. The divide-and-rule politics has left the country merely a geographical expression with the masses incapacitated and unable to build a nation. Like former President Olusegun Obasanjo recently observed, Nigeria is still a country, and not yet a nation. Peter Obi could be that bridge with which Nigerians can cross into nationhood, and build a nation that will work for all, regardless of creed and tongue. This essential aspect of Peter Obi makes him symbolic of a new beginning, which is why the Nigerian masses mill around him and never see him as an Igbo, Christian, or through any such tainted prism, but simply as a sincere astute and concerned Nigerian they can trust to bring succour and change (not a chain as we now have) that will restore the nation. This is quite uncommon and that is the making of a political movement. Yes, Peter Obi is now a movement and the much talked about 3rd Force. This is self-evidently seen in his Twitter handle surging past 1 million followers two days after he courageously left the PDP and the portal of the Labour Party where he ported crashing severally for exceeding its bandwidth as Nigerian masses struggle to register in the party just to be with Peter Obi. Before Obi and PDP parted ways for good, there were scores of groups sprouting all around the country as Peter Obi Support Groups. They were so many and unique in many respects. When detractors derided them as internet warriors who live in the labyrinths of the social media and faceless, the supporters organized a one-million-man march for Peter Obi, raising their own funds to organize rallies across the lengths and breaths of Nigeria. While many support groups of other aspirants are going to their principals to collect money to run their shows for political optics, supporters of Peter Obi have launched several crowd-funding platforms to raise money for Peter Obi. By doing so, they have become critical stakeholders of the President Peter Obi Project. Source: https://www.thecable.ng/2023-how-peter-obi-can-win/amp 3 Likes |
Romance / Re: Help My Boyfriend Is A Weed Addict by UBAHA(m): 2:45pm On May 09, 2022 |
The first step to finding a solution is to step in before it's too late - Assuming he's in his early twenties. If he's willing to change, then... Start by volunteering to be the one to buy the weed for him (that's if you constantly pay him a visit). Monitor the amount he takes daily and reduce it by not more than 25% for every 90 days. This is because it takes the body 3 months to form a lifestyle. Reduce it gradually till his body adjust and adopt. This will take time but if you love him enough then it's a piece of cake. Investment / What's Cheap When You're Poor And Expensive When You're Rich? by UBAHA(m): 6:40pm On Feb 17, 2022 |
Should Conor McGregor do his own chores? McGregor earned $30,000,000 in 2019 alone. Conor McGregor is one of the world’s biggest sports superstars. If he washes his clothes by himself, spending 1 hour of his time, he will save $20 on hiring a housekeeper. “LOL. WHY WOULD HE DO THAT! JUST PAY SOMEONE ELSE.” —you will say and you will be right. But wait… in one scenario, he will spend $20 and, in another scenario, he will spend $0. Why will anyone choose the former?! The reason is that we ignored the opportunity cost. In other words, we only looked at the money aspect of things. If he does not hire a housekeeper, he also loses 1 hour of his time. How much is 1 hour of his time worth? There are many ways to calculate this. For instance, we can divide his yearly income by the hours he worked—assuming a standard 8 hour workday—and he will get more than $10,000. Whatever figure we use, it is likely going to be significantly larger than $20. “Wait, but he does not spend all his time on training for his fights! He also spends time doing nothing at home, surely? Everyone does!” — and you will be right again. This time we ignored all the immaterial benefits too! For instance, watching a movie and relaxing, Conor gets his strength back and, in turn, performs higher in his training. This, in turn, affects Conor’s income! Even assuming a 1% rise in income, it is a huge difference, $300,000, which is far more than a housekeeper will make washing Conor’s clothes every hour per week. So what is cheap when you are poor and expensive when you are rich? Time. That is the reason why Conor McGregor does not wash his clothes and Barack Obama flies in private planes. 1 Like |
Travel / Rwanda Becomes First East African Nation To Provide Free Wifi by UBAHA(m): 8:07pm On Feb 03, 2022 |
Thanks to the launch of the government-backed “Smart Kigali” project, people in Rwanda now have access to free internet via Wi-Fi enabled devices. The project, which is line with Rwanda’s Vision 2020, symbolises another step towards achieving the East African nation’s prospects of becoming a regional IT hub, as it steadily moves past the tragic events of the 1994 genocide into a future built on a Knowledge-based economy in order to attract more foreign investment. Five years ago, Rwanda launched the “One Laptop Per Child” initiative in schools across the country. So far, the project has seen about 200,000 laptops distributed to more than 400 schools. Going further, Rwandan government signed a $140 million deal with South Korea’s largest Telecom – Korea Telecom (KT) Corp in June, 2013 to provide 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) Broadband networks across the country especially in areas where internet connectivity is low. The deal is considered to be one of the biggest FDI deal ever embarked on by the East African nation. On launching the “Smart Kigali” project, the Rwanda in partnership with the City of Kigali (the country’s capital), internet service providers, Rwanda Hotel and Restaurants Association as well as other government agencies announced last month that there will be free wireless internet in Kigali. This was the first step in a strategy which aims to provide wi-fi coverage to all schools and public buildings and buses, hospitals, commercial buildings, taxi-parks and restaurants. Rwanda hopes that the initiative – a public-private partnership – will significantly contribute towards delivering better services to people via the internet. According to Alex Ntale, the Director of the Rwanda’s information and communications technology chamber, “Smart Kigali really is a test, it is giving people a taste of better things to come.” He added that for “Smart Kigali” to succeed, the private sector needs to stay on board because the project is not perpetual – someone has to pay eventually. “The private companies are testing a business model… they are trying to find out if the market is really there,” Ntale said. However, Rwanda’s Minister in charge of Information Technology, Jean Philibert Nsengimana, said he wanted to see the plan “accelerate growth of the Internet sector” and attract more investors. According to the United Nations Broadband Commission for Digital Development 2013, only 8 percent of Rwandans are have access to the internet. Yet, Nsengimana insists that “Connectivity is one of the most important draws for business in this age of digital economy.” “Broadband access has to be considered as an essential, just like water and electricity,” he added. Nsengimana also cautioned that if the new, high-tech Rwanda fails to take off and the programme does not turn out to be profitable, then the private sector will have “every right to switch off the machines.” However, the country’s bid to become a technology hub like Kenya has yielded good fruits so far. Rwanda ranks as one of the least corrupt countries in Africa, while on the World Bank’s ease of Doing Business Index for 2013, it ranks as the 3rd easiest place to do business in sub-Saharan Africa and the 52nd out of 185 countries examined globally. 1 Like

Travel / Which State In Nigeria Is The Best Based On These Five Matrics by UBAHA(m): 1:35am On Dec 11, 2021 |
Nigeria's security situation is terrible and I for once desired to hustle enough to travel out. Travelling out might take some time to settle and could possibly need enough cash or possibly be a waste of money - this can even be used to start up a business in the country. I believe that there are areas in the country that is peaceful and more economical favourable to live in despite the country's hurdle. In this vain, which of the state (street and area in specific) in Nigeria is best based on the following: 1. Security: This area should be the one with street light, security patrols, vigilante e.t.c. 2. Light: The place should have an average of 15-20 hours electricity per day. 3. Civilisation: I'm talking about society organization. Does it have a head like regional government? Is everyone the oga? What's their track record of keeping the land and people safe? Is it culturally vibrant? 4. Cost of Living: what's the cost of feeding, accomodation, groceries, clothes, and so on? Are they cheap? 5. Nature of State Government and ease of doing business: Is the government of the said state a one-way party operated? How developed and beautiful is the state? Is it a good place to invest? Please give your answers based on these 5 metrics..... Thank you!!! |

Travel / Between Rwanda And Ethiopia; Which Is More Affordable? by UBAHA(m): 12:50pm On Sep 03, 2021 |
At present, I believe that living in one of the best African countries can in a way give the experience equivalent to that of living in Europe. When I checked the quality of living in most western countries, some of them were either slightly above or in parity with the ones in Africa. In short, two of the African countries that have been experiencing steady economic growth in the past few years are Rwanda and Ethiopia. Rwanda dubbed as the "Singapore of Africa" houses the cleanest city in Africa - "Kigala" and this development was as the result of the ban on plastics and polyethylene bags. The government also made investment in green energy thus pollution has drastically reduced. However, their 39% are living below $1 (poverty benchmark) and about 86% are managing $2 per day. Ethiopia on the other hand is known for having cheap food, wine, and accomodation. It is relatively safe but the problem is that out of a population of 78M people, only 0.25% understand the English Language. They even have a wine that is produced with Honey!!! So my submission is; which one of this countries is more affordable in terms of food, accomodation, leisure outings e.t.c? I don't know for electricity but I think they both have a fair share of constant light. Let's inform ourselves |
Career / Between"how Was Your Day" And "How Is The Day" Which Is Correct by UBAHA(m): 11:54pm On Aug 16, 2021 |
The great people of Nairaland I greet you all There is one possible major grammar abnormality that I've contemplating about of late. It's about the difference between "How was your day," and "How is the day". According to the dictionary: Day is a period of 24 hours beginning at midnight : one of the seven time periods that make up a week; or The part of the day when people are usuallly most active and when most businesses are open. These two definition defines that the word "Day" is not possessive. Yet how come that almost all the professors (including the ones in English), Students (Including the first class sets), and others beyond the scope of the examples I gave like attributing the word "my" to a day rather than the day. Are we the creator of the day, is it buyable, do we own it because I don't just understand. Am I overthinking or correct, let's hear your contributions on the topic |
Travel / Are Nigerians The Most Hated People Abroad? by UBAHA(m): 7:57am On Aug 01, 2021 |
Stories of Nigerians scamming people under the platform "Yahoo" has become so popular such that every Nigerian (including the innocent ones) are affected. The tales of Hushpuppi and others has spread like wildfire and this spells no good for our dear nation. I've been following up on latest happenings in certain parts of Europe and Asia and discovered that the situation is getting worse everyday. If it was not enough that dollar is rising and lots of people cannot afford to travel or even order something from overseas, the situation is also taking its toll on undergraduates who wishes to either escape or Study via postgraduate studies. I personally can't take the blame for what I didn't do and this is applicable anywhere. What's really wrong with the country? Why is obtaining Visa as a Nigerian getting harder? Are we that bad as a People? If not for any other intention, getting access to a high quality of life is desirable enough to seek for relocation. How did we get here? |

Over the course of years, I've come to realise that nairaland is full of experts, and specialists who commands knowledge. This is why I bring my case here. Back then in the days when I was 14 years , my parents were strict with me concerning "women affairs" and this upbringing is presently hunting me. Currently, I'm a potential IT students (we're in first semester) and I decided to get myself a girlfriend to prove my friends who rated me as a complete loser in the game wrong. I collected the girl's (a fresher) number and we exchange pleasantries. It's not even up to 1 week and things are getting out of hand. One of my friends saw me called her one day and laughed at me seriously for being too boring and direct. Me and the girl are not in terms due to some reasons. I'm feeling sad and angry about the situation and really regretted why I didn't do this thing when my mates were doing so. I can't even conversate well and worst of all, I'm an introvert. Please house, what should I do? |
