Internet users will always complain like PHCN customers because most ISPs don't have a reliable support service and do not have experienced WIMAX engineers. All they want is to recoup their investment even if it means "no value" to their end users. Some times, the basic modem/router supplied to end users may not be enough to deliver right service to user but what they do is to just sign ion people without considering how they'll be served.
One easy way to get it right is to let them know you want dedicated Internet and sign a 99.9% Service Level Agreement with them.

Some will argue "Can this happen in Nigeria?" And I'll say "Yes, it is possible" but at extra cost.
It is very interesting to know that unlimited data + 24/7 Internet can be possible in our Nigeria .
I genuinely wish to have first hand reviews from anybody that is enjoying the "privilege"
In Engineering, you have to consider cost. Is the price over the top? Is it Reasonably Practicable?
Can you please give a more detailed suggestion as per ISPs. I'm sure many would be interested. Thanks

We all have several demands for unlimited data, only concern here is how reliable these services will be as we all buy in.
I once went to an spectranet's office as a new customer to buy their service, while sitting in the reception, all the customers in their office that day were for one complain & failed service or the other.
I went back home that day with out buying.
This was my own personal experience, if things are actually better than this, I'd love to know.

The major obstacle I see in the InternetOfThings in Nigeria is the InternetForThings. grin

Wow! 800K is a lot. Does that include the pump and accessories or just drilling and casing?

Not sure how they figure it out, but the report says there is commercial quantity available. Maybe I can start a water bottle factory grin grin

Boreholes are worthy investment in the long run, Funny how Prices differ based on geographical location. While some of my folks in the southsouth drilled their's between 80k to 150K or there about, I was told how lucky I am to have a Borehole drilled @ 1m in the East. What are you going to do...

Showroom Item: UPVC Toilet Door by WinTech

The main lure of UPVC doors for me, is their impressive durability; ruggedness and how it can withstand frequent usage over time.

Furthermore, as a constantly evolving home builder, I like to make a good first impression of my project.

WinTech got this one right and I've decided to install one in NextHome H52 as a sample for those clients who prefer affordable luxury finishes.

How durable is this door and of what material is it made?
Are they just toilet doors or multi-use.
Please, can you school me on doors?
Thanks

Oga Brabus I can see you know a lot about Structural Calcs. Your professionalism na top. but lets come down to the level of laymen like us. forget those story of Following Structural Calculation to confirm the Live/Dead Load Analysis, Steel Analysis, Shear Force and Movement Information. Thats not what I feel is the problem, those na many grammar.

This is a Clear case of Lekki Garden Bring Small Money put am for contractor hand, and expect contractor to make the figure work no matter what, and Contractor collects what he feels is his gain inside and use the remainder to work, before you know the money becomes too micro for the project. The major blame should go to the buyers who like Cheap things, you want to buy a house with money you know wont build you Carcass. didnt you think of how is it possible for the Sellers to make gain like. Oh! the sellers are not there to make gain right? only you the buyer is expected to gain from the process right? Thats a case of when people deceive their selves. you want to buy things with money you know isn't realistic and expect to get what you want. O.Y.O is their case anyway. Lekki Gardens Build Cheap Houses because they know people like their Buyers are everywhere. They want to eat their cakes and still have it.

An experienced architect should not do all the drawings ( structural drawings) should be left to people who understand it, people who has been certify to carried them out.
Electrical design for bigger building should be done by an electrical engineer.

Structural failure is a combination of so many factors that people who are not conversant with soil behavior and structural behavior may not understand.
Stability of structures depend on sound knowledge of soil engineering properties which can only be gotten through extensive and detail soil text. It also depends on good structural design done according to codes.

EgunMogaji:

Au ConĀ·traire por favor El Maestro
What if the Architect is also a Structural Engineer or part of a cooperative of professionals.

True My Prof. @ Abdulwastecx, The Structural drawing was of course produced by the Structural Engr. in question and all other protocols were equally duelly observed.
You can trust me on this.

@ Oga EgunMogaji you hit it on the sweet spot.
Merci.

Doing a project in my hometown.
The drawing was first of all produced by an experienced consultant architect who advised that the foundation and decking stages be supervised by a structural engr. who is also an experienced consultant. I paid dearly for each of his site visits but not with pain.
He traced all the rods one by one with a stick like an village headmaster to make sure that all meets specification and standard and doesn't care about any delay his meticulousness will cause.
My builder dreaded any of his site visits because after he visits , there will be more rods to be changed, or included, or even redone which means builder will spend extra on iron bender as labor was contracted to Builder.
My instruction was that: the structural Engr. gives final go ahead before any concrete is poured during Foundation & Decking.
On my own side i was happy and didn't mind, i'm still in contact with the elder statesman for a job well done.

Pros
*It ensures for a neater job window job as against breaking the walls and and Putting burglar bars which become cumbersome a lot of times.

* its cheaper overall than making the windows and making the burglar bars separate

Cons
* you are limited to certain designs as against making lots of nice designs with burglar bars

* you are limited to the colour of the Alluminum profile unlike the burglar bars where you can paint/spray as you like

*burglar bars can be made stronger than its Alluminum counterpart

Thanks Chief

My Oga , any Pros and Cons for using Aluminium windows constructed together with the burglary like the one you are using for this project as against installing the burglary separately from the window.

Good morning all.
Looking at the efforts men (both friends & foes) have made to settle this Mavverick Vs Brabus case yet unsuccessful.
I still believe that the biggest effort need come from both parties TBH especially Mr Brabus (the contractor) without prejudice to him.
I sincerely believe Mr Brabus is a very innovative person given what we see from him on here but that alone can not take anyone anywhere in any business.
I believe that in every tribe in Nigeria, there must be a proverb (if not more than one) that confirms the position of a good name/reputation with regards to success and other good things of life.
If you go through all the complaints on this thread and other threads where this grievance emanated you will agree that other players have played their part (to some extent) and now the ball should be in the court of the two.
I see already some good advice from NLers which they can easily adopt to settle this case. We all know what is Right and what is Wrong.

For Oga EgunMogaji , i think he is a harmless fellow just trying to have fun with banter.Sometimes a comedian is not able to sell his joke because he may be stepping on some toes while walking the thin line of Banter.

P.S :This thread is very important to me , i have not graduated yet oo so please let us not go on strike , Abeg grin

There are various designs but one from this site should serve the purpose I envision.

I just need the Nigerian door maker (I'm sure he'll call himself an Engineer wink ) to just design one of this bracket into the exterior doors of which I have three.

Then I am sure that ANY USA lock will install and work well with it.

Hi , this idea is inspirational , installing superior locks to made in nigeria doors , can i say that "this is a marriage made in heaven".
@ EgunMogaji and amanikondo i'm interested. will love to talk more about this.

The thing about the Nigerian Market is that the Marketers only buy What they can sell off immediately. And those Profile which is like the Ones we Installed in our Calton gate Project was Imported, will tie their money down, so they wouldn't want to buy it. I have tried Speaking with some Chinese Fabricators as regarding those types, because we have an Upcoming Project that we require top Notch Finishing, but the Chinese also seem to be Interested in PVC Windows.

My best Advice is that once you have your window Dimensions, you purchase and Ship down.

But if one ever musters the courage to purchase outside naija & ship , any suggestions where..?
