All this so called China phone are trash and total rubbish, I bought the leagoo shark1 September this year,one reason I bought the phone was just the lovely specification it had, *6300mah ba3, stupid 4glte that don't work,gorilla glass3 and so on. It's an Android upgrade. Every miui version is based on an Android version. Miui 9 that's currently being pushed should be based Nougat.

But Xiaomi is a confusionist because a certain miui version based on another OS will be displaying an entirely different OS version on the users phone.

Nope, it's not an Android upgrade, for Xiaomi, miui update is the major upgrades not Android updates. Don't be surprised to see some devices with Android 6, running miui 9 with some Android 7 and even 8 features.
