You should have written the source of the information so that people would believe you.

You know here in Nairaland, even when you have written the source and shown the evidence, people would still doubt you.

How much more this one that there is no source or evidence to corroborate your write-up?

But let's assume this is true, what does FIFA stand to gain in changing so much rules?

If they said that they would increase the number of teams in every tonament, that is understandable, since the amount of money they would generate would increase.
(That is the reason they want to increase the number of nations playing the world cup)

But if people are not complaining about the current rules,I don't think they would change them.

Sports / OPINION: Why Raphael Varane Will Not Force A Move To Manchester United by UbongJamesAkpan(m): 11:05am On Jul 18
OPINION: Why Raphael Varane will not force a move to Manchester United

Manchester United are hoping to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid this summer. The Red Devils have identified the Frenchman as the ideal partner for Harry Maguire but Real Madrid are still hoping to convince Varane to stay.
At 28, Varane is looking for a new challenge and is ready to join Manchester United if the Red Devils can agree a deal with Real Madrid.
The Frenchman rejected the club’s offers to extend his contract, which expires next summer. He could be willing to sign an extension if he’s offered €12 million a year.
Varane has been offered €7m and believes he is among the best defenders in the world and deserves to earn €12m, which is what David Alaba and Sergio Ramos are currently earning.
Manchester United have offered him that amount. Madrid wants to sell him for at least €50 million and will not let him go for less.
The Red Devils have offered around €40-45 million, but Varane will stay at the club this season if the British side can’t improve their offer.
In opinion, I believe Varane will not force a move to Old Trafford if United cannot agree a deal with Madrid due to the respect he has for them.
Varane joined Madrid at the age of 18 and has made over 300 appearances for the club and has won 18 major honours, including three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey title, four UEFA Champions League titles and four FIFA Club World Cup titles.
All this was possible because of the trust Real had in him when he was a young boy, and the French Defender will not want to leave the club on bad terms, hence he will stay in Spain and will not force a transfer if United does not match real asking price

Robert Lewandowski is now on the radar of Premier League club Chelsea who are also chasing Erling Haaland
The Blues are keen to sign a prolific no.9 this summer to provide competition for Timo Werner
However, with Dortmund unwilling to sell Haaland, the EPL side have been forced to look elsewhere
Chelsea have reportedly lost hope of signing Erling Haaland this summer and have instead turned their attention to trying to lure Robert Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are understood to be in the market for a proven goalscorer with Timo Werner having struggled in front of goal and had identified Haaland for the role.
However, with Borussia Dortmund adamant about selling Haaland this summer, with Metro UK reporting Chelsea have been forced to look elsewhere for an alternative.
Robert Lewandowski now on Chelsea radar. Photo by Alexander Hassenstein.
The Sun claims the west London club have since revived interest in Lewandowski who was the Bundesliga's top scorer last season.
The Polish striker had a stellar campaign in the Germany top-flight league, scoring 41 times to break Gerd Muller's long-standing record.
Despite his advanced age of 32 years, reports suggest Tuchel regards the experienced forward as the best option for the no.9 role at the Bridge.
But with Lewandowski contracted at the Allianz Arena until 2023, a bid of £50million would be required in order to prise him away.
On his part, the former Borussia Dortmund is believed to be keen on a fresh challenge in the Premier League and would relish a move to Chelsea.
Abramovich releases funds for Haaland transfer
Meanwhile, Chelsea appear not to be giving up in their pursuit for Erling Haaland after the club's owner Roman Abramovich reportedly releasing funds to land the Borussia Dortmund hotshot.
However, the west London club will have offload some attacking players before getting the transfer over the line.
It is believed the Blues have already earmarked the trio of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham, and Hakim Ziyech for sale should they win the race to sign Haaland.
Chelsea start pre-season in style
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea made a huge statement ahead of the 2021-22 season with a 6-1 triumph over Peterborough lower league side Peterborough in their first preseason fixture.
Coach Thomas Tuchel's men picked up from where they stopped last season when they defeated fellow Premier League outfit Manchester City to lift their second ever Champions League title.
With their performances towards the end of last campaign, they have now been ranked as one of the favourites to win the EPL at the end of the coming season

Checkout 8 Players Who Won The Champions League And Euros In The Same Year

After a disappointing 2020 due to the pandemic, the year 2021 was a success in the footballing world and many fans were glad to see that normalcy finally returned to the beautiful game. It was another big glory in European competitions as many players set different milestone for their respective club side.
Chelsea were this year's Champions League winners after seeing off another Premier League rivals in a dramatic final that took place in Portugal. The London club won their second Champions League titles thanks to the likes of Kante and Joginho who were just remarkable for the team.
Joginho winning his first Champions League with the blues and also emulate the gesture for his country at the 2020 Euro finals was like a dream he never foresees. Just like Joginho, another Italian man who won both the Champions League and European Championship was Emerson. Emerson never had much playing time for Chelsea but was one of the standout players at the just concluded competition.
It still beat one's imagination that a player who couldn't get himself enough playing time during the Premier League campaign last season with Chelsea still went ahead to achieve more success than many other players.
Joginho and Emerson are not the only players who won two major trophies in the same year. Thus, let's check out 8 players who have won both the Champions League and European Championship in the same year.
1: Christian Karembeu - being one of the most successful players in his generation, Christian won both the Champions League and Euro in 2000 with Real Madrid and Franch national team respectively.
2: Nicolas Aneika - with a short career in football, Nicolas Aneika was a success in the game winning major trophies and played for several top clubs in Europe.
3: Fenando Torres - after a remarkable spell at Liverpool, Torres moved to London to sign for Chelsea only for him to flop for the blues. But his poor form didn't stop him from winning the Champions League and European Championship with Chelsea and the Spanish team in 2012.
4: Juan Mata: before quitting London for Manchester, Mata already won the Champions League and Euro 2012. The Spaniard recently extend his stay in Manchester for another season hoping to achieve something with the Red Devil.
5: Cristiano Ronaldo: year 2016 will be an unforgettable experience for Ronaldo as he won the both trophies and still go ahead to win the best player in the world.
6: PEPE - as a teammate with Ronaldo at both club and national level, Pepe also won the both trophies that same year. A feet he simultaneously deserved.
7: Emerson: lack of enough playing time with Chelsea didn't stop him from achieving some of the best moments in European football. His masterclass with Italy at the Euro 2020 was a sublime.
8: Joginho: His successes with Chelsea and Italy this year was remarkable. The Italian is one of the favourites to win this year's ballon d'or.
Do you think he can win the award? These are the 8 players who have won both the Champions League and Euros in the same year.

Sports / Chelsea Lineup 2021 by UbongJamesAkpan(m): 10:01am On Jul 17
with Erling Haaland in 2022 if he eventually gets signed

Thomas Tuchel created a top notch cordination in Chelsea team and that helped the blues to withstood most big teams last season.
Chelsea defeated Athletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Manchester city last season, the reason why this happened was because they were so coordinated in both attack and defence. The 3-4-3 formation also helped the blues to maintain a higher level of stability in their defence, this really helped the team to win the last UCL title.
Timo Werner and Kai Havertz were the two players who led Chelsea's frontline last season, they are both good but a new striker is really needed. Timo Werner's main advantage over other strikers is pace, he distracts the defenders with it but misses a lot of goal opportunities whenever he gets in the position to score.
Erling Haaland is another striker who possesses the same running ability like Timo Werner, he scores more number of goals despite his young age .
The blues are interested in signing the Norwegian striker too although Dortmund are asking too much from them. The introduction of Haaland into Chelsea's 3-4-3 lineup will make the team perfect. It can make Chelsea the best attacking European team in 2022.
Erling Haaland is a left-footed player, he is very tall, runs very well and also converts goalscoring chances. The lineup above shows the possible way Tuchel will use him at Chelsea if Marina signs him.
I believe Haaland will replace Timo Werner if he gets signed, the reason is because he has more attacking abilities than the German striker(Werner).Mason Mount is seen at the left wing while Kai Havertz occupies the right wing.
Players like Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi might also come in as substitutes during the second half .
Ben Chilwell and Reece James are the wing-backs here, they will also support in the attack. Jorginho and Kante will maintain their stand at the defensive midfield position.
Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azplicueta and Thiago Silva are the center-backs here while Eduoard Mendy remain the the goalkeeper
With the addition of Haaland, I believe Chelsea can become the best attacking European team. The lineup above looks perfect and it can help Chelsea to play well in many competitions next season.
