mamuzoOMAH: I also want to make a living from traveling . These are the few ways I think one can make a living off traveling. 1. Promoting your personal travel experiences on social media and then getting contracts as ambassadors to travel agencies 2. Having a blog or YouTube channel (the channel has to be big though) These two ways are quite tasking and expensive to achieve Anyone with other suggestions should please help out 1 Like |

butch411: I’m traveling to Hungary from Oslo where I am currently. My flight to and fro was about 120$(between 40 and 50k naira). As for accommodation I usually make use of Airbnb because u not only get good deals but you have a host who can direct you on what, where, how and when to do things in that country/city which might help save you from trouble or wasteful spendings. For example In Budapest I booked a whole serviced flat (bedroom, kitchen, sofa, double mattress, everything) for less than 30$ per night whereas that Money can’t get me an above average hotel. Since I booked my host has been checking up on me wanting to know how she can help, she sent me a long email detailing all I need to do how I don’t need to enter airport taxi(20eur) instead there are direct trains into town (less than 3euro). I hope this helps. 4 Likes |

nattybanta: I swear I even watered down the scrutiny, it was more than I explained here. They went as far as questioning the stamps I had on my passport from Ghana , Togo and Benin when I went to Ghana by road in 2014. They questioned my entrance and exit stamps in and out of Oslo . They doubted everything my dear. It was annoying when you’re being accused of forgery but you’re too innocent .☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️ 1 Like |

My Experience at two USA embassies (Abuja and Oslo) I currently reside in Norway but booked a USA visa appointment for Abuja in December since I was traveling home for the Christmas holiday. I didn’t know I was making a very big mistake.below is a summary of my experience at the embassy of USA in Abuja and then in Oslo. I must say that USA sees Nigerians as criminals. Miles away before you get to Abuja Embassy you’ll see all sorts of armors ,a crowd of security personnel like they are expecting a war. they checked us almost 5 times before we got to the real interview. Yet they still denied more than 90 % (including me ) While in this place (Oslo) you won’t even see a human being until you are close enough to touch the entrance door. And the one person you see isn’t armed (even a knife). Yet they approved more than 90% of visas including mine. In Nigerian the consulars are hostile and behaving like they are giving you the key to heaven while here in Oslo they would even assist you to make sure you get the Visa. I can’t just explain enough. I didn’t even say one tenth of what I said in Abuja yet it was approved. Below is the most hilarious part of my experience in Abuja. I spent more than an hour trying to prove to the consular that my norway Visa and resident permit were legit. There was no method I didn’t use. He first took me to a special investigation room, asked me to tell him about norway and where I resides in Norway, the name of the airport in Oslo, how much a bottle of beer costs, the name of my school and the location of the different campuses, asked me to show him some of my results, my Norwegian bank card,my school ID, asked for my school email,he went as far as asking the security people to escort me outside to get my phone so he would see pictures I took in norway, he checked the plate numbers of the cars in the pictures to confirm if they were norway number plate, he went further to send a mail to my school email and asked me to reply. In fact there was no other way I didn’t prove beyond doubt that I resides in Norway. You wouldn’t believe I was still denied after all.(I was later granted when I reapplied in Oslo in January when I returned from Nigeria) Later, after I was granted in Oslo I understood the plight of the guys in Abuja. They must have been wondering why someone who would be granted USA Visa almost automatically in Oslo come down to Nigeria to apply for a Visa. The moral of the story is that you stand a better chance of getting a USA Visa from outside Nigeria than in Nigeria. Please if you’re a tourist/Traveler or aspiring tourist or you just like travel stories please follow this new tourism thread. Lest share our stories and experiences in different cities of the world. Let’s show them that Nigerians travel too! https://www.nairaland.com/4328301/tourists-travelers-let-meet-here 6 Likes 1 Share |

The bolded are very very valid points i can relate to all, -To me Poland has been the cheapest destination i have been to. both flight and tor activities where quite cheaper than that of Italy France and Norway, although France was more fun, -As for where to lay head, most times i use Airbnb dot com for accommodation. very affordable and you get to meet a host who can double as your tour guide as well. - Food is my number one issue as i am very picky with foods, i hardly try out new local foods(which is bad for a tourist), i end up eating McDonald/burger-king for the most times during my trips. although in global cities like paris, google could help one locate a good African restaurants but mind you that their prices would be on the high side. - As for the 4th point (you seem to be writing these points from my head) i can relate 100%. it is very common to experience this in France where there is an invisible battle of supremacy between french and English. i had a bitter experience in France which made me miss my return flight(long story for another day) - The returns is a very important part of a tour too, personally when i go on tour i just want to see new places, learn their culture, the way they do things but of course if i can make income from traveling that would be perfect! Romance / An Open Letter To Those In Relationship (MUST READ) by Uchboggy(m): 8:04pm On Oct 31, 2017 |
If you are reading this you probably are in a relationship, about to enter one or just came out of one. Whichever is your case this article has one or two things to teach you. As the title of this article suggests, the content is open to users discretion.it could be accepted or rejected. You might also want to give this article an alternate name ‘One reason why relationships break prematurely’. Most of the content of this article are drawn from my personal relationships experiences in the past 10 years. I’ll try to be as straight-forward and straight-to-the-point as possible. The reason why relationships nowadays break up prematurely is simply because either one or both parties involved in the relationship have during the course of entering into the relationship raised too many banners ,sign boards or love indicators that when these banners, sign posts or love indicators begin to go down or disappear it becomes obvious that the love is either no longer present or is fading away.in a layman’s language we can say they have started what they can’t finish.as you read through this article try thinking of any failed relationship(s) and you will find out that the reason it failed is tied around this singular point directly or indirectly. Take for example, A girl just gets into a relationship with this new guy and the next thing she does is to change her phone and laptop wallpapers to a picture of this guy, hangs his picture/portrait by her mirror, change her blackberry name to his name (e.g. Tony’s Baby), change her passwords to his name, just to mention a few. Some people will even go as far as sending routine text messages. I’m not trying to condemn such acts or saying they are wrong, but they should be done to moderation. The question is how long can you keep that picture of him/her on your wallpaper/screensaver? what if you went home then you had to temporarily remove his/her picture because of your parents then you forget to put them back when leaving the house and he or she sees that you removed their pictures as your wallpaper? How long can you keep sending those texts to him every morning and night? How long can his picture be your twitter avatar? In most cases (if not every), the guy or girl this is been done for never asked for it as a prove of your love for him or her(someone who really loves you would hardly tell you to do such things to prove your love), most time we just do it out of our own over excitement about the newly found love/relationship. This feeling is normal for people entering into new relationships but it is good to try to curtail it so you don’t start something you can’t finish because the very day you stop any of these things maybe not intentional but due to tiredness, being too busy, illness etc. that’s the same day your relationship begins to crumble. In conclusion, the best way to maintain a good, healthy and long-lasting relationship is to act matured right from the onset. Don’t start things you can’t finish, you could use his/her pictures as your whatsapp profile picture or twitter or Instagram avatar but not permanently, you could send a text or two but it shouldn’t be a routine and lastly I would advise (especially ladies) that you don’t use his name as your snapchat instagram or twitter names just yet. Like I said earlier this is an open letter from a concerned Nigerian young man. You could choose to heed to the advice or not.my joy would be to know that you found the content of this article useful. If this article was educative or helpful you could send me a feedback at uchmanpro@yahoo.com. thanks for devoting your precious time to read this and feel free to publish on website, blogs and other social networks. @Admin i'll appreciate if this post can make the front page so more Nigerians can learn. Thank you |

Guys good day, Am new here but I have enjoyed reading this thread as it is very informative. I would like to ask the gurus here some questions. My passport was supposed to expire by DEC so I wanted to travel to out for holiday this year before it's expiration so I chose Canada. Presently a trusted consultant is doing the application on my behalf so its almost confirmed I would be given the visa but the problem is I just got admitted in a school I applied for MSC in Norway to resume in August so I won't be going to Canada anymore for now. I want to know if there is any very negative implications in the future of not using the Canadian visa if and when granted. |
