Please do you mind sharing your experience with me?

Yeah, I’m currently doing my masters in Norway, I must say it’s different from what I heard before coming, it’s not like everything was a lie but they were too sugarcoated.

As a student in Norway it’s difficult to get even student jobs because of the language barrier. Even if you eventually get lucky you can only get cleaning/dish washing jobs because you don’t have to speak the language to do such jobs.

Then when you’re done with your masters contrary to what is out there, it’s not easy to get a professional job(at least not anymore since the oil price slump). So then you need to show a whole lot of money (in the region of 9-10million naira) to be considered for a job seeker visa for a year.

why waste such money in the US when you can comfortably get a more valuable degree for Norway, the oil capital of Europe.

After graduation, I can assure you that getting a job is sure as even the US companies will favour you against there own grads.

when you get there for your masters, you will be marvel by how well you will be treated by this Europeans.

Norway wins for me.

I hope you’re saying this from experience living in norway and not from what you read? Cos I’m sure we that are in Norway would not totally agree with you

Please friends, is there university in Oslo, Norway, or any other part of Norway that offer Master degree in Library and information science, or master degree in International relation under political science? am interested in carrying on my master degree study in Norway, in either the field of Library and information science or in the field of political science, since I graduated with double honour awarded degree in the both field, with CGPA of 3.36.

Also, must one pay 5 million before getting their visa?

Got to www.studyinnorway.no and search for yourself.

It’s not like you’re paying 5M, you will send it you your school, the school issues you a receipt which you’ll use to apply for visa , when you get to norway they would give you your 5m back

Please application received (change from application submitted) is what you should see.. I have never seen "document received"

I didn’t see documents received either, it just went from application submitted to application received to application completed. Timeline was November 21st(when they confirmed via a response to my inquiry that they have received the transcript my school sent) to February 4th

Lol, there are many people in your shoes. I read from someone's PPR story that the IQAS that now takes 4-5 months to complete ECA used to be 3 weeks.

Just keep bombarding ICES with emails, hopefully you will get your ECA on or before 12 complete weeks.

I sent them an email last Friday they said I should get it over the next two weeks. So technically I should get it next week.

You will need a UK visa if you plan to leave the airport and stroll out, or if you will have to change departure terminal. My advise is to get a UK visa from Norway since you’re a resident there.

Hi UK visa gurus,

please assist me with answers to the below question.

I currently reside in Norway, I have a USA visa and I was in USA this summer.

I plan to travel to Nigeria for Christmas with British airways from Frankfurt,

I want to know if I would need a transit visa since there would be a stop at heathrow airport in London

Note: I plan to stroll out of the airport to site see if possible

Glad you're doing pretty okay
How about Nigerian meals ?
Do you guys have African food stores at least
I mostly hear the same thing about winter
My friend told me winter is depressing & he's sometimes depressed for like 6 months in a year because of cold
your friend is right about winter,

There are African stores and I must commend those guys, there are some things you will find there and be shocked how/why they brought them here. You’ll be wondering if anyone would ever buy them. The only issue is that African stores are very expensive compared to what is obtainable for the same item in Africa. You’ll get used to things being expensive sha because everything in Norway is expensive especially when you always convert to naira .lol

Greetings everybody I got 8.5,7.5,6.0,7.5 LRWS with IDP, is there possibility of upgrade if I remark? Really confused and frustrated.
Eyah I understand your frustration, but (IN MY OPINION) I don’t advise you to get a remark seeing that 6.0 is two steps lower than the 7.0 you require so it’s difficult to get a remark that jumps two steps higher. But if you have the resources then you can try
