Good evening everyone. Please I need a clarification. Is the date on the IELTS result online the same with the report form?
I wrote exam on 13th Feb with BC and was able to check my result online on 26the Feb, I'm yet to collect the result from their office but I need to be sure if the date to fill while creating an EE profile is 26th Feb. I'll appreciate your response please.
is it even possible to enter the pool without the hard copy? I thought there is a result certificate number that has to be entered into the EE form for it to validate your ielts? Or is there another way I don’t know about yet?

Hello Everyone,

I just found this forum today and I have spent a little over 5 hours getting information. Thank you to everyone that has taken time to post valuable information here.
Anyway, here I am 3 years after I first heard about Canada EE (The delay was my doing). For example, I took my first IELTS General to test the water in February 2018, scored 8.586.57.5 and shelved it. Then, I created a WES account December 2018 but didn't start processing of transcript (to send to WES) till May 2019.
A major reason for the cold feet was due to my experience of the loneliness of living alone in a foreign country during my masters. Kia, I missed my family and Nigeria alot. However, as Naija don show me pepper, I am energized to face it and ready for my Canada life. cheesy So, I resumed the journey in December 2019.
As my IELTS was going to expire (plus I needed to max out), I took a second IELTS in December 2019. This time, I gave it the seriousness it deserves. I received my ITA on February 20 and I am excited to see this journey to the end. I look forward to a shared learning experience with you all on this journey.
I have some questions...
1. Where do I get the police report in Abuja?
2. Do I need to attach evidence of my current job? (I am not using this to get point in the work experience as I don't want my CEO to know I am planning to ja. The CEO will have to be informed if i request a reference letter)
3. What is the cost of the medical in IOM and what tests are done?

I have looked through the first and most recent 20 pages...kindly direct me to relevant pages if this has been discussed in the past.

Thank you.

Police report is gotten from police CID in area 10
If you have other experiences to give you the needed 3 years or whatever years you claimed then only put your current job in your history

The medical test Is around 40k I think, they do a series of test even HIV. Nothing to worry about though

Congratulations to you, if am in your shoes i will remark writing and speaking module. Any increase in any of the 2 would land you 471. Just my opinion.

true , valid advise.

Personally I don’t like that 468 , To me it’s just a whisker close to the popular cutoffs, it’s like a near success syndrome. We were on 468 since October with no ITA , it was traumatic for us always looking forward to the next 2 weeks and getting disappointed.

my wife had to rewrite last month for us to get ITA with 470.

Good morning my neighbour. Hope you're all feeling okay? grin
Thought I should share what caught my eyes on IRCC's Twitter account; who knows if it would help someone.
@BelovedQuerida @chubby89

Asking for a friend...

Does it mean if wes evaluates her law degree as a bsc she will update for masters on her EE profile and when she gets ITA she would now explain?

No qualms about the questions... we are all here to help each other.

The investment statement looks like a normal Bank statement of account showing your deposits, redemptions and interests accrued.
ok thanks , I will get that and add it

No issues putting money in Mutual fund accounts. Put all my money in Stanbic Mutual fund and i have PPR already. No ADR for updated POF, nothing.

exactly o, I don’t know where he or she got that conclusion from ooo

Meanwhile, did you just submit a reference letter from stanbic mutual fund or you also included the investment certificate(s) ?

I'm aware that mutual funds can be used as pof but recently I've read stories of people who almost had their application rejected because their pof was in a mutual fund account(even after attaching notes to explain).

Is it advisable to move my money to a fixed deposit account to avoid any issues? Also how long should the money be in the fixed deposit after I move from mutual funds? Lastly, at what point can I move the money from FD back to mutual funds, after submitting application or after PPR?
when was an application that used mutual fund as pof rejected or almost rejected o. Don’t say this kind of things without facts to back it o. I’m submitting my application this week with mutual funds So please show me

Wrong advice please....

He can add his spouse, post ITA, provided any addition to the application does not make his score goes below the CRS under which he was invited. He is good to go and submit as the spouse addition will still leave him at 470.
exactly, I’m already processing with my spouse and the system automatically recalculated our score and compared with the draw that gave us ITA and said we are still eligible

This is my advice. By going alone, you have 475 so you are still safe even if you decline and the point does not get to 470 any more. If it was that if your score is let say 471 unaccompanied, then ill say you you shouldn't decline but 475...its really a decent score and you can always get ITA.

I understand that a lot of people have also advised that you can add the spouse post ITA and the scores would be recalculated which is quite true...but you know IRCC can be funny at times, make we no go meet a yeye case analyst. so for you to have a smooth application which does not have the process of adding and recalculating stuff...just decline and wait for two draws, the likelihood of getting it is quite high.

My two cents
thanks for your 2 cents but this case has been settled already, I am going with spouse.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/no-invite.asp

it says:

''You can only stay in the Express Entry pool for one year from the date you were accepted into it. You can see this date in your MyCIC account.

Your Express Entry profile will expire if you are not invited to apply in those 12 months. If it expires, your profile will be removed from the system and you will get a message in your MyCIC telling you so'

thanks bro

ITA at last but with a mixed feeling for me and my wife.

Our profile as a couple was 468 since October last year so she wrote ielts last month and added 2 points to the score making it 470. My profile was expiring on the 21st of this month so this was the last draw before expiration.

Initially we had agreed to see what this score was then if it didn’t get to 470 today then I will go alone unaccompanied(crs of 475). But because of the anxiety and tension and uncertainties we had to change our mind yesterday and agreed that I go unaccompanied. Now draw comes out and it’s 470.

I was happy to see ITA and was angry that we didn’t wait.

My source of consolation now is accepting it as the will of God

Please I need a link to the WhatsApp group for married people going without their spouse

Thanks to all the gurus that helped me make an informed decision about this yesterday. I have included or I am including my wife in the application.

But I have one more question,

My profile is supposed to expire tomorrow 21st February 2020 like. The question is,

Am I already safe or is there anything or a stage I have to get with the application to be safe from the expiration of the profile?

Note: i have filled all the forms about family, spouse , eca, ielts, work experience etc and it has re-evaluate our joint score and passed us as still eligible. I am at the stage of uploading all documents and payment of fees

Congratulations to all ITA Clinchers! and PPR recipients!

PS: Please guys, before advising others, let us make sure we know for a fact what we are talking about. To many people, this journey means the world to them and dishing out wrong advice could have a detrimental effect on their application.

@Uchboggy Please DO NOT decline your ITA. Add your wife and your scores would be recalculated. Since your score meets the cutoff, you should be fine.
Read more here

Please take some time to type your questions on google, there is so much information out there.

Good luck with everything!

Thanks a lot

Hello Sir,
You can add your spouse POst ITA I believe, they would calculate and confirm that the difference in your score with your spouse added, is still more than the cutoff used for the draw in which you got ITA. You may research further on canadavisa forum for peeps who have done this in the past. I wish you all the best.

Wow if this is possible I’ll really be happy o.

I’m still on my research but I need more gurus to confirm this for me please

Hello @Uchboggy. Have you been to Peru? Do you know who has? I'm looking to visit Peru next month. Do you know the visa requirements and places to see? I generally want to tour south America for one week. Share ur thoughts pls.

honestly I haven’t thought of exploring South America because of their drug trafficking history so I’m sorry I don’t have any useful info about their visa requirements right now.

I think options A and B will be ideal.
Go with some cash, and also use your card.

Am here with my questions. Reason is , this is my first time of traveling out.

Please which of this is better for my spending in Europe and Egypt.

1. Using of Master or Visa card

2. Convert my money to Euro and go with cash

Or is there any other alternative?

Please I need advice

You should have a bit of both options , but from experience option one is usually more expensive but more convenient cos you don’t need to find change or part with some money due to lack of change

Again, for option B, it depends on where you change the money, exchangers at the airports are usually a bit more expensive except in countries where their systems are highly regulated then it would be same rates at airports and outside.

What I’ve read is that you have to have a valid reason for spouse unaccompanying, like s/he has just started a new job, has to take care of a sick parent etc.
You can join a group or thread on family sponsorship to help you make an advised decision.
thanks

Please do what you've to do now... Do not bank on hope that's not sure when you've an alternative.. Atleast your wife can come and join you in like a year.. someone shared his sponsorship timeline few weeks ago..

And If they do skilled trade draw, scores will even go higher.. some people on 468 are even rewriting IELTS to see if they can max out... please do not wait.. All the best
thanks

I think you should just be a bit patient (if your birthday isnt too close). 468 is not bad and any moment from now, you can get ITA.

This is exactly what I said since October last year

Gurus in the house please is it possible that someone’s ielts results (MOD) to be mixed up or exchanged with another person’s.

I’m asking because a friend of mine that scored very high in her first mod ielts (except reading) , retook the test because of the reading , practiced so hard for the whole test, was very very confident after the test that she aced the whole test this time. But when the test results came out yesterday she go 6.5 6 6.5 7 LRWS

Personally I could vouch for her listening because I saw her practices and she would have told me if she was in any doubt of her performance after the test. I personally don’t believe it’s her results whether it is possible or not

Anyone please share your experiences
