The 20 Designated Consular HubsWhile the State Department has not yet updated its public websites, the 20 approved "hubs" that will retain full immigrant and non-immigrant visa processing services have been identified: West Afbidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), Accra (Ghana), Dakar (Senegal), Lagos (Nigeria), Lomé (Togo), Monrovia (Liberia), Praia (Cape Verde) East Africa: Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Djibouti (Djibouti), Kampala (Uganda), Nairobi (Kenya), Kigali (Rwanda) Central & Southern Africa: Cape Town (South Africa), Johannesburg (South Africa), Kinshasa (DRC), Luanda (Angola), Malabo (Equatorial Guinea), Port Louis (Mauritius), Yaoundé (Cameroon) Impact on Non-Hub CountriesConsular sections located in the remaining 30+ African nations will cease regular visa processing for the general public. However, they will remain open for limited functions, including:Assisting American citizens (e.g., passport renewals and emergencies) Processing diplomatic visasHandling special national interest cases Consequences for Applicants Applicants living in a country without a designated hub face severe financial and logistical hurdles. They must travel across international borders to a hub country simply to attend a mandatory visa interview, drastically increasing travel expenses, wait times, and administrative burdens.A Stricter FrameworkThis restructuring follows a series of aggressive immigration policies enacted earlier in 2026:Immigrant Visa Suspensions: In January 2026, the U.S. enacted Presidential Proclamation 10998, pausing immigrant visa processing for roughly 26 African nations under a "public charge" reassessment.Visa Bonds: Selected non-immigrant applicants (including nationals from Nigeria and several other African states) must post high-cost, refundable bonds of $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 to mitigate overstay risks.Strict Interview Rules: Non-immigrant applicants are now required to interview strictly within their country of nationality or legal residence, ending previous policies that allowed flexible, third-country scheduling. Are you planning a trip to the U.S. from a specific African country, or do you need details on how these changes affect a specific visa type (such as student or tourism)?AI can make mistakes, so double-check responses 9 sitesU.S. plans major reduction in consular services across Africa2 June 2026 — U.S. plans major reduction in consular services across Africa * A consular network narrowed to 20 hubs. What This Means for Abuja Applicants Mandatory Travel to Lagos: If you live in Abuja or northern Nigeria, you can no longer complete your routine visa processing locally. You must travel to the U.S. Consulate in Lagos for your mandatory, in-person document reviews and visa interviews.Longer Wait Times: With Abuja's massive applicant volume redirected entirely to Lagos, appointment slots are expected to face unprecedented backlogs and surging wait times.Restricted Interview Rules Still Apply: You cannot bypass Lagos by booking an interview in another country; the strict "no visa shopping" rule requires you to interview within your country of nationality or residence. |

Deeper Life is truly a great place to worship. It's a ministry known for transparency, with nothing hidden. You’re taught the undiluted Word of God directly. Whether you choose to stay, move on, start your own ministry, or join another, you’ll leave spiritually enriched. Many ministers in Nigeria today have passed through Deeper Life at some point in their journey. While the doctrine may not be perfect—as no church is—it remains rooted in the sincere desire to uphold biblical truth |

Approximately €78,500 in cash have been seized by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last Friday, August 25, in a search related to visa fraud in the French Embassy conducted at the premises of a travel agent. - Advertisement - The investigation was carried out in Ludhiana, a large industrial city in the north Indian state of Punjab, where the suspect travel agent, Balwinder Singh Bartia, resides, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports. The CBI later announced that incriminating materials were recovered during the search, whereas an amount of approximately Rs 70.10 Lakh (€78,542.45) were seized from a bank locked in the same city. According to the Bureau, the suspect charged young farmers and unemployed people in the state of Punjab between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 45 (€2,800 to €5,600) in exchange for Schengen visas from the Embassy of France, New Delhi. He also arranged their flights to the United States from France within a period of ten days after arrival in the latter. To date, the French Embassy has not commented on the incident. CBI’s investigation has resulted in legal procedures being initiated against six private persons, two of whom were previously employees of the Visa Department of the Embassy of France, New Delhi. The CBI claims that these two persons have worked with others to fraudulently issue visas in a period of four months, between January 1, 2022 and May 6, 2022. Amongst the fraudulent acts committed by these people include providing forged letters supposedly written by a private company based at Bengaluru to the Consulate General of France, Bengaluru, for issuing Entry Visas for their joining private companies in Port-Le-Havre, France. Related to the case, the CBI has previously conducted searches at six locations, including Delhi, Patiala, Gurdaspur and Jammu at the premises of the accused in December 2022, during which it had collected incriminating evidence, including laptops, mobile phones, suspicious passports etc. India is the third largest source for Schengen visa applicants for 2002, just behind Türkiye and the Russian Federation. 671,928 applications were filed at the Schengen embassies in India in 2022, 18.3 per cent of which were rejected. The highest number of applications were submitted at the French consular authorities in India (138,643), followed by Switzerland (106,025), and Spain (80,098). Accordingly, France also rejected the highest number of applications, as many as 27,681, out of the total 121,188 rejected by the Schengen countries. Obtaining a visa is often costly and time-consuming for applicants. The procedures include collecting several documents, paying a Schengen visa fee of €80, purchasing the right travel insurance, and much more https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/indias-bureau-of-investigation-seizes-e785k-in-french-embassy-visa-scandal/#google_vignette |

The Sydney Morning Herald SportTokyo Olympics OK, Boomers: Australia fail to hit heights in first-up victory By Malcolm Knox July 25, 2021 — 8.52pm Australia 84 Nigeria 65 Okay, Boomers. At the end of a weekend that had produced plenty of surprises for the wider Australian Olympic team, several of them nasty, it was down to one of the more popular, experienced and high-profile outfits to provide a shot of morale. Anxious Australian athletes would have been gathered around their TVs on Sunday night in Tokyo expecting the Boomers to look after them. Joe Ingles drives to the hoop against Nigeria. Joe Ingles drives to the hoop against Nigeria. GETTY The Australian men, ranked third in the world, fresh off a practice match win over the United States, were expected to account comfortably for the 22nd-ranked Nigeria at the Saitama Super Arena. Like the Tokyo Games themselves, the result was a while coming and beset by human and non-human error. For the first half, the Boomers struggled to shake off a Nigerian team that outperformed Australia in rebounds and turnovers, harassed them with willing defence and deprived them of cohesion. With coach Brian Goorjian giving long slabs of game time to old heads Patty Mills and Joe Ingles, there were flashes of coordinated offence, but only flashes. In an irony that would have been observed by those noting the absence of Ben Simmons, off seeking a cure for the free-throw yips, it was only Nigeria’s poor free-throw shooting that saved Australia’s blushes. Swap Nigeria’s free throw percentage for Australia’s on the night, and the result goes the other way. Patty Mills looks to find some space as the Nigerians close him down. Patty Mills looks to find some space as the Nigerians close him down. GETTY Like some other Australian Olympians in the first few days of these games, the Boomers left the court with frowns on their faces and a look of puzzled frustration. After a prolonged struggle, eventually class prevailed. Or, put another way, lack of class failed to prevail. As the game developed, Nigeria’s poor shooting spread from the free-throw line around the court, and while they continued to thwart Australia with their enthusiasm and physicality, there was no making up for their shooting inaccuracy. As if another obstacle needed to be put in the way of the athletes at these Olympics, the shot clock horn went on the blink in the third quarter, leading to extended conferences, contingency plans and effectively a supplementary three-quarter time break for both teams. Just one thing after another. When play resumed, the ever-impressive Dante Exum landed a three-pointer, followed up with a steal, and the Australian gears looked like they were finally meshing. RELATED ARTICLE Ariarne Titmus ... The not yet recognisable but new face of Australian swimming. FROM THE FUTON TOKYO OLYMPICS Ariarne Titmus is the golden girl Australian swimming needs But not really, or in any satisfying way. It was that kind of night. A six-point margin at the official final break was enough for confidence but not for comfort. The disqualification of Nigeria’s Chimezie Metu of the Sacramento Kings, for an unsportsmanlike foul on Matthew Dellavedova spelt the end of the contest when Dellavedova nailed his free throws, and from that point Australia strung some together nicer offensive play, with Mills at the forefront. The captain’s game-high 25 points were as reassuring as his solid 33 minutes of court time. Australia’s win, by a final margin of 84 points to 65, was one of those looked better on the scoreboard than it would have felt, and will leave the Australians knowing they have work to do. It wasn’t pretty, and a more polished opponent would have held Australia to greater account. “Jitters,” said Exum when asked later to explain Australia’s scratchy start. “Everyone wants to do so well and win this first match, and when we went to the locker room we sat down and said we need to get this together.” Ingles, who was vocal in gingering up his teammates during breaks in play, said credit had to be given to the “up and in, full-court style of play” employed by the Nigerians, who had eight NBA players in their squad. “We need to be better with the ball,” he said, predicting that Goorjian ‘will get into us a little bit’ in the review of the game. An unfazed Mills said the overall aim is a two-week project: to qualify out of the group stage and, simply, “to be the last team standing”. At least the Boomers won’t have to worry about the hazards of peaking too early. Never miss a medal or great sporting moment with our Olympic update emailed daily. Sign up for our Sport newsletter |

This woman is pursuing a legitimate cause but the manner she is going about it s now a concern . Initially everyone seems to give her thumb up but the support is wanning. The thing is she should have let the government, police and human right people conclude their investigation. She can even petition the IG but this media court thing. With time the sympathisers will ignore her, in everything wisdom should applied. |
