RomanceTop 10 Ways Of Identifying A 'runs Girl' In Lagos by uche87(op): 9:32am On Jan 13, 2016
Lagos is a place where the struggle for limited resources is keen. All facilities are highly COMMERCIALIZED including love. Things are not always what they seem to be at the surface level, so there is a need for you to 'shine your eyes' before being caught buying the counterfeit.

These are top features of a Lagos prostitute who maybe trying hard to hide her identity to avoid stigma:

(1) Runs girls in Lagos are fond of heavy make-ups:

They are always desperate to create an impression wherever they go. This leads to obviously heavy and colourful make-ups that mayn't even rhyme at all. The 'foundation' could be so strong like she wants to erect a building on her face.

(2) Awkward piercings:

These set of ladies pierce their nose with rings attached. Their ears carry multiple piercings too. Some bold ones go as far as rocking nose rings to show how fashionable they are.

(3) They chew gum indecently:

The act of chewing gum is very paramount among full time prostitutes and 'aristos' seem to have mastered the act well and I wonder the rationale behind it.

(4) Breast display:

As goods are displayed on shelves in the shopping mall, so also the runs girls flash their 'selling points' I.e their area of strength for prospective buyers. They make sure you can a vivid look of what you are up against like the massive boobs, big bum and exposure of the flat tummy or waist.

(5) Tattoos:

In Nigeria today, most decent and well-cultured ladies don't draw tattoos. Most 'female marketers' are fond of conspicuous tattoos which are positioned at strategic points for you to feed your eyes on and they are always quite bold.

(6) Bleached skin:

A fair lady gets more attention and is easily noticeable than a dark one. Runs girls don't joke with bleaching. The skin is unnecessary white while the fingers, toes and knuckles stand out black with the intention to break away like Biafra.

(7) Runs girls in Lagos love expensive phones with busy lines:

When a lady's phone rings incessantly like she is a customer-care agent and you know she isn't selling anything; my guy, she is into 'E-commerce' like Jumia delivering the assumed and the social media is likely her booking office.

(cool When you keep calling her phone and introducing yourself severally:

Runs girls have several clients to deal with. They hardly store numbers until they are sure you have the will to do business. They easily lose track of the identity of their callers and you get poised to re-introduce yourself over and over again.

(9) If she disappears mysteriously like the 2016 national budget from the senate on Friday nights:

Friday nights are sacred nights in Lagos when the 'god of koboko' is worshiped by hardworking men that must have been engaged productively throughout the week. On a night like this, a hot runs girl must have been booked by the highest bidder; hence a dramatic disappearance until Saturday morning.

(10) She is a likely 'selling it' if she spends the entire day sleeping and heads out every night:

Runs girls in Lagos have opposite working schedules, they leave for work when others are returning, and go on recess when others are at work like 'Edo witches' (na joke oh).

TravelThings That Could Make You Hate Lagos by uche87(op): 10:10am On Jan 11, 2016
Lagos state is a land of opportunities. It is the commercial capital of Nigeria with unofficially a population of 23 million people 'hustling' to have a bite of the good fortunes of the land. Lagos has a couple of adverse sides a newcomer will have to adapt to and live with.

Below are some common features I hate about Lagos state:

(1) Traffic:

Lagos is highly populated with thousands of people plying limited road networks to work early in the morning and also returning late in the evening. There have been several cases of people spending over 5hrs in traffic merely moving from Mainland to the Island in Lagos. This poses a huge challenge in the movement of goods and services.

(2) Cost of accommodation:

Rent in Lagos is very expensive. Most landlords will only rent their houses out if you are ready to pay a 2-year rent. You go through agents who will demand a large sum of money. The 'agreement fee' at times is much enough to rent a two bedroom flat in a cheap area like Ibadan.

(3) The girls:

After the stress of working in Lagos for the day, one would need expert hands to massage all the back pains. The girls in Lagos only understand the language of your pocket and not empty promises of love. Some ladies could demand for Buhari's head for the night.

(4) The beggars:

The beggars in Lagos come in different dimensions. Someone can appear smarter and more expensive than you in Lagos and still beg you for money. They constantly stop you with pitiful stories and faces. Ignoring them sometimes has a way of affecting one's conscience especially if you are the soft type.

(5) Incessant cases of traffic robbery:

I never knew traffic robbery was real until I came to Lagos. CMS, Mile 2, Ikorodu, Orile, Iyana Oba and several other areas have high records of traffic robbers who dispose commuters of their hard-earned belongings. Towards the yuletide, Linda's blog was reporting almost two cases of traffic robbery per day.

(6) Transport cost:

In Lagos people tend to draw a scale of preference on movement. Movement to work is mandatory while others can wait except too important due to the high cost of moving around. For this reasons, most friendships are relegated to online interactions and nothing more.

(7) Congestion:

Lagos is too congested with people. The town planning system of some areas like Satellite town in Amuwo Odofin, Mushin, Okokomaiko, Ajegunle, Oyingbo etc is very poor which affects the ventilation in houses. This could frustrate a newcomer especially when the weather is sunny.

(cool Churches:

A close study of some churches in Lagos has brought me to the conclusion that some preachings are directed at the congregation's pockets. The churches are always in need of one thing or the other. The speakers psyche you up to even drop what you don't have by faith.

(9) High level of oppression by the rich:

You need to see the cars driven by some people especially on the Island part of Lagos. It takes discipline for your long-term lover to say no to such men. The desperation of joining the wealthy class could push one to destruction. These people may not even work as hard as you do or even have the same educational qualifications with you.

(10) The level of hypocrisy in Lagos is epic:

That club girl that was dancing like a possessed person at the club on a Friday night with that skimpy cloth that puts her endowments on display maybe the sister leading the praise and worship session in a church on Sunday.

Everyone takes up different characters just to bring the money home and pay bills.

CelebritiesTop 10 Revelations From The Don Jazzy And Olamide Showdown At The Headies by uche87(op): 6:57am On Jan 03, 2016
The beauty of anger and outburst is that it has a way of purging an individual of hidden secrets and bitterness he has been nursing over time. Olamide's rants on Twitter about Mavin records producer, Don Jazzy speaks volume of a lot about the Bariga, Lagos born indigenous artiste.

Below are some top revelations deduced from the entire scenario:

(1) Olamide and Don Jazzy were never really friends:

Olamide and Don Jazzy could have recorded one hit song titled 'Skelemba' together but the relationship between the duo was a mere working relationship which is indicated in the despicable things Olamide said about Don Jazzy freely via the social media like he rehearsed for it.

(2) Olamide is of a highly questionable character:

Music they say comes from the soul and there is the high possibility of an artiste singing from the way he sees the society. Olamide has been known to be vulgar in his songs. He preaches violence, talks about indiscriminate sex, alcohol and weed. He portrayed the vivid picture on the Headies Award stage by using swear words in Yoruba language. He also allegedly destroyed the Headies green room and beat up a fan that hailed him at the event. This is not the image he wants his son, Miliano to take after.

(3) Don Jazzy may not be as good as we think he is in music productions:

Olamide alleged on Twitter that Don Jazzy has recruited some 'maids' who help him in cooking beats while he puts his name on it and claims the credit. It’s a pity he didn't go further on this interesting revelation. There is no smoke without fire and there is an element of truth in every rumour. Olamide must have exploited a crack in the Mavins dynasty to obtain that rare information. Don Jazzy will expectedly tidy up loose ends in order not to tarnish his brilliant resume.

(4) Don Jazzy's humility on the social media might be a publicity stunt:

Olamide accused Don Jazzy of giving unprecedented support to one comical fellow or presumably an artiste named Vic O who has recorded some of the worst songs in the history of Nigerian entertainment like his Adele's Hello cover. According to the YBNL boss, Don Jazzy was only following Twitter trends to maintain recognition on the social media.

(5) Olamide's reference to Don Jazzy's alleged ill-treatment of former colleague, Dbanj shows the 'pounded yam' of 10 years may still be steaming:

Olamide accused Don Jazzy of 'killing Dbanj with packaging' which sounds connotative. He also claimed Dbanj who is older than the producer named him 'the Don' out of respect while they worked together. This according to Olamide is some sort of respect Don Jazzy doesn't deserve.

(6) Olamide lobbied to feature Mavin female artiste, Di'ja on a song but Don Jazzy sabotaged the collaboration:

This is another sign of a strained relationship between Don Jazzy and Olamide as the request to feature Di'ja could have been thwarted by her boss due to his apathy for Olamide's songs and probably that of his crew members.

(7) Olamide seems to be in control of some Lagos miscreants:

Olamide who claims to represent the street has vowed to attack Don Jazzy if he visits the Mainland part of Lagos where he is based and dominates with his people as against Don Jazzy who stays on the Island. This reminds me of the bitter rivalries in Nigerian politics.

(cool Wande Coals seems impressed with Olamide for attacking his former boss, Don Jazzy:

Former Don Jazzy's Mo'hits singer, Wande Coal went on Twitter and laughed at the whole trending drama by typing 'LOL' after which he followed Olamide on Twitter. On a day like that, out of vigilance, it’s safe to say he supported Olamide against Don Jazzy due to some reservations.

(9) The weakness or conspiracy of the Headies Awards Committee has been exposed:

Many social media users felt the award should have gone to Kiss Daniel with his monster hit titled 'Woju' and 'Laye' which were like the MTV anthem. Lil Kesh is more popular than Reekado Banks. So what happened? Maybe the streets which the YBNL crew represents don’t use the internet or vote. They only support by listening.

(10) Don Jazzy's maturity and composure after Olamide's painful verbal assaults against him on Twitter shows how deep he regards his image in the Nigerian society.

This has a close similarity to that of the altercation between the former Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe and the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega during the announcement of the presidential elections results.

The way Di'ja showed excitement at the way Don Jazzy called out Olamide on the stage speaks volume of the childishness in her which she needs to get over in order to lead her fans productively.

Additionally, it also depicts a clash of interests and priorities between Olamide and Don Jazzy. Don Jazzy felt it was all about the Hyundai car award while Olamide was infuriated as he was fighting for the alleged robbed honour of Lil Kesh, his artiste.

PoliticsShiite Muslims Massacre: Questions For The Nigerian Army by uche87(op): 9:54am On Dec 16, 2015
On the 27th of November, the news broke that a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber attacked crowds at a Shi'a (Shiite) Muslim procession numbering thousands near the north Nigerian city of Kano, in the latest violence to hit the troubled region.

The attack happened in the village of Dakasoye, some 20 kilometres (13 miles) south of the city, during a march by followers of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria. This led to the death of approximately 22 members of the sect with about 60 others critically injured.

The following day, a new twist to the suicide attack emerged from the leadership of the Shiite sect led by Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky which stated that the attack was not orchestrated by Boko Haram members but another warring party.

In his words:

"We know the names of the contractors and those contracted to commit the massacre. Their identity is not hidden from us. Therefore we cowed by an imaginary Boko Haram tale. Let them tell it to the fools and ignorant."

"They should know that they are dealing with those with foresight, wisdom and intelligence and above all with the real religion."

The group stated the perpetrators were known to them and the tone of the revelation was like a drum sound of war.

As a Nigerian, I was disturbed by the insinuations. It was obvious a feud was brewing with other parties. My instant fear was the existence of another deadly terrorist sect aside Boko Haram which has claimed the lives of an average of 17,000 Nigerians since 2009 and displaced about 2.6 million others. It was obvious the incident was set to give birth to another bloody occurrence but my premonitions were simply subjective.

On Saturday, 13th of December 2015; the online news media shifted from the Sambo Dasuki armsgate after weeks of reportage to an alleged clash between the Shiite Muslims and the Nigerian troops in Zaria, Kaduna. The Shiite Muslims were reported to have made a failed assassination attempt on the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General, Tukur Yusuf Buratai. This led to a gun duel between the Nigerian troops and the civilian sect. Incidentally, blood started flowing like a river.

The death toll started rising dramatically according to wide media reports from 6 to 10 and then 20 to 30. Highly controversial online news platform, SaharaReporters was quick to put the death toll at 100 and yesterday, Tuesday, 15th of December, Channels Television put the figure at 60. Other media platforms put the death toll at 200 and 1000. What a holocaust!

This attack is a sensitive issue which shares a historical resemblance with the growth of the Boko Haram sect (making reference to the death of the late leader of the sect, Mohammed Yusuf under questionable circumstances) which has become a plague we may end up living with for many years to come in Nigeria.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai was interviewed and I was expecting a vivid account of the ill-fated incident only for him to claim the members of the Shiite Muslims barricaded the main road outside their prayer centre and prevented his entourage from going to their destination.

All means of appeal to the resistant Shiite faithfuls which were numbered about 500 reportedly failed. They got violent and an attack ensued. Buratai then referred us to the video clip recorded by the National Television Authority, NTA, for details, and the footage is yet to be released for unknown reasons. Buratai attributed his survival to an act of God. Again, details of how God did it remains undisclosed.

An unconfirmed report from the military police said some Shiites were crawling through tall grasses towards Gen. Tukur Buratai’s vehicle “with the intent to attack the vehicle with (a) petrol bomb” while others “suddenly resorted to firing gunshots from the direction of the mosque.”

Another conflicting account from one Ojo Momodu, an eyewitness claimed the Shiite faithfuls barricaded the road with burning tyres and stoned the vehicle of the Chief of Staff. This seems like a trivial case of a battle for influence, a blood bath would have been averted if viable crisis control mechanisms were employed by the military that are expected to know better.

A similar occurrence took place on the 22nd of January, 2015 in Bauchi state during the presidential campaign involving former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Some thugs who converged at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, venue of the event, hurled shoes, plastic water bottles and other objects at the canopy where the president and members of his campaign team were delivering their speeches with soldiers on ground. Jonathan didn't exercise his powers as the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian army; no obnoxious orders were given and the incident was perfectly managed.

Another related incident also took place involving Jonathan in Katsina. Even at the international scene, United States of America's former President, George W. Bush during his first inauguration as the 43rd President of the United States of America had his fair share of an attack on January 20, 2001 in Washington DC. He had his limousine and his convoy pelted with eggs including a tennis ball by angry Americans who believed he stole his mandate; he ate the humble pie and bowed out of the scene gracefully with no record of a reprisal except the arrest of four protesters by security operatives.

Let it be clear that I am not making any insinuations or taking sides. I am just weighing the roots of the mayhem and how it could have been ameliorated rather than putting Nigeria in the headline for another barbaric cause.

Anyway, here are my questions for the Nigerian Army:

Were the soldiers really engaged in a gun duel with the members of the Shiite sect as claimed in the media?

If yes, the Nigerian military should provide the arms and ammunition employed by the sect during the attack as the Army have always done when displaying their victorious pictures against members of the Boko Haram sect or else this action will paint a perfect image of a holocaust against the Shiite Muslims.

Secondly, the fatality of the attacks leading to the death of about 100 members or more of the sect must have been sparked by a provocative action by a Shiite member or members like a serious injury on a Nigerian soldier, death or damage of their vehicles; Is there any casualty the military has to show as evidence?

Were there no better means of crisis management to be employed by the Nigerian soldiers than to brutally open fire on the Shiite Muslims leading to that magnitude of death rate?

We have heard of tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper sprays, shooting of the legs of the civilians under extreme cases; how come highly trained troops assigned to protect the lives of someone of the calibre Chief of Army Staff ran out of options than to open fire on the hapless civilians?

Why did the military abandon the corpses of the dead Shiite members on the street and later return for them after their bodies were heavily looted and dishonoured by unscrupulous people as shown in the viral video?

Why is NTA yet to release the video footage of the violent attack which involved the pelting of stones and sticks for analysis and investigations?

Does this confirm an organised cover up of the truth behind this incident if there is anything fishy whatsoever?

Why did the Nigerian troops go after the leader of the Shiite Muslims, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky who was badly injured with an alleged gunshot wound as shown in the viral photo on the internet depicting he was manhandled by security operatives?

This question is necessitated by a conversation the Shiite leader had with another Shiite member in Iran who called to confirm the incident. The audio copy of the call has gone viral on the social media. Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky was heard telling the Iranian that his house was under siege by the Nigerian troops and the numbers of death couldn't be ascertained.

He sounded helpless and seemed to be hiding from his death after which he was picked up by soldiers and kept in a 'protective facility' with his wife.

What was the motive behind the release of the graphic image of the Shiite leader?

It is safe to say the photo was taken by a military operative. The pitiable state of the Shiite leader was provocative enough to inspire a sympathiser to violence. This accounts for the reason why the United States of America till date failed to release photos of the dead body of the perpetrator of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade centre, Osama Bin Laden.

There are reports that the Nigerian military demolished the worship centres of the Shiites in Zaria, Kaduna including some part of their leader's house. If true, what was the rationale behind that harsh action which smells of a personal vendetta against the Islamic sect of 37 years?

Is this bloody attack a manifestation of the rumoured cold war between the Shiite sect and the Nigerian Military in the past which prompted the sect to emphasize that it is not a terrorist group?

Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is an educated and well travelled man who event went as far as appealing to his followers to remain calm in a telephone interview with SaharaReporters during which he tearfully revealed the alleged murder of his sons who were Engineering students in China. Is it possible for such an assassination attempt to take place under the auspices of such a leader knowing fully well the consequences of bringing a knife to a gun fight?

These are a few of the several questions the Defence Headquarters have to find answers to in order to prevent the development of another terrorist sect which Nigeria cannot afford in the interest of peace and the dwindling economic conditions

The predicted consequences of the massacre may go as far as affecting the diplomatic relations between Nigerian and Iran which has the highest number of Shiite Muslims in the world. Iran is keenly interested in the case. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif has reacted to the controversy by summoning Nigeria's foreign envoy, Geoffrey Onyeama for an insight into the ill-fated incident. Some Muslims also staged a protest at the Nigerian embassy in Iran as well as the Indian capital.

Some Shiite Muslims protested in Kaduna yesterday which reportedly led to an attack on the police leading to the death of 3 other members of the sect which security operatives denied. We have too much on our plate as a country already. We are battling the issue of Boko Haram insurgency, Biafra agitations which are waxing stronger daily, plummeting fall of oil price, youth unemployment, fall in the value of Naira, the incurable cancer of corruption and so on. I hope this doesn't lead another case of Shiite insurgency as widely speculated.

Strong investigations should be launched by the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC so that justice could be done if needed to prevent the future occurrence of such a barbaric event.

God bless Nigeria!

RomanceTop 10 Common Ways Nigerian Ladies Indirectly Demand For Money After S*x by uche87(op): 10:18am On Dec 08, 2015
Due to the over 60% rate of unemployment in the country, love and romantic relationships have become a medium for siphoning money from guys by the ladies; After all, S*x isn't free, you either pay directly or indirectly in cash or kind.

Below are the common lies the ladies tell their boyfriends/lovers to easily extort money from him as a reward for a pleasurable service:

(1) I want to make my hair:

This has become a common trend among the young folks since the advent of the Brazilian hair that is costly enough to start a viable business to improve Nigeria's economy.

(2) Transport fare:
It’s difficult for most ladies to demand for money from their lovers after a s*xual encounter so as not to feel like prostitutes. So the escape route is to tell him you want to chatter a cab home which is more expensive than the normal public transport.

(3) Misplaced or faulty mobile phone:

Most Nigerian girls are not contented with their current Smart phones even when theirs could be better than yours. With phones in the class of Iphone 6 and others, she could collect her bride price indirectly from you.

(4) Pregnancy:
This is an effective trap for men that die for unprotected s*x. Smart ladies constantly use it to extort money from their boyfriends under the guise of abortion.

(5) Capital for business:

I must confess virtually all the Nigerian ladies are potential entrepreneurs who tender diverse business proposals off hand spontaneously which they will never actualize when you give them the funds. It’s a means of furnishing her wardrobe indirectly.

(6) Birthday:
Some ladies have different birthdays to the extent that they have become confused about their actual date of birth. Once they meet you, they draw the birth date nearer all in a bid to get money from you. This is a very smart way of obtaining money from a sugar daddy on a mega scale.

(7) Final year project funds or school fees:

Some desperate ladies who have never seen the four walls of a higher institution in their lives will demand for school fees or money for their long essays which kind-hearted men easily fall for.

(cool Valentine's Day or other festive events:

Val's day is like a day of reckoning for randy guys as the ladies will traditionally be expecting gifts at all costs like it’s their inheritance or bride price so far she is doing you well on bed.
Some ladies even demand for gifts from their boyfriends on Christmas day which is the birth of Christ.

(9) Health issues:

Nigerian girls use this as a means of attending to minor financial issues like shoes for a party, Aso Ebi for their friend's wedding as a man that fails to pay is deemed heartless and could be permanently cut off.

(10) House rent:

This is the last straw that could break the camel's back especially in a place like Lagos where rents are high. It’s a common lie among 'big girls' who direct it at their sugar daddies. This leads to big hit when it clicks.

RomanceTop 10 Signs He Is Only Keeping You For Sex by uche87(op): 3:48pm On Nov 30, 2015
Relationships could be so complicated especially when the exchange of love and affection is not balanced. There have been cases of several ladies being used as instruments of pleasure in romantic relationships they believe could lead to marriage.

Below are some top signs that your partner is only using you without any futuristic plans:

(1) He only calls you on phone whenever he is Hot: This kind of relationship is strictly based on business. He calls you to talk dirty and to satisfy his sexual fantasies. He insists you show up at his place immediately for s*x after which he goes cold for a while.

(2) He is always reluctant to discuss personal problems with you: Men naturally will only share their problems with who they have feelings for as well as trust in. No man goes to a brothel to discuss issues aside s*x and its immediate action.

(3) He maintains coldness with you on the social media and stays off anything related to you:
When a man truly loves a woman, he flaunts her everywhere he goes like a prestigious award especially when she is cute in order to gain the respect of his friends. When its strictly sex, he keeps the girl as his dark secret. Under no circumstance will her picture find his way to his Facebook, BBM or Whatsapp.

(4) Constant demand for unclad photos: No serious man with good intentions does this. A guy using you will demand for your n*de photos and later show his friends to brag about his social status and sexual prowess.

(5) Lack of public appearances:
His business with you is in the bedroom. He will not want to be seen with you in public to prevent the sexual relationship from getting to the knowledge of the general public.

(6) Minimal conversations: Communication is key for the development of strong relationships that could lead to marriage. When all he does is head for ur panties and other sensitive body parts shortly after your arrival in his house, then there is a looming crisis.

(7) He doesn't want to meet your family members: when its strictly s*x with no plans for the future, definitely there is no need to associate with lady's family members to prevent unnecessary social ties.

(cool He flares up when you talk about marriage: This is simply because he doesn't see the image of a wife in you.

(9) When he frequently uses s*x enhancing drugs like Viagra:
The truth is that these drugs turn the men into beasts and they end up hurting the woman. This takes off the pleasure of sex and turns it to torture.

(10) He shows up at your place once in a blue moon and keeps other girls: If he loves you truly, his heart will be wherever you are as his treasured asset, but because you are a mere option, he visits you only when his schedule isn't tight.

I hope these signs guide you from barking the wrong tree. Time is precious. Don't waste it on people that don't care.

PoliticsWhen Buhari Seeks The Hand Of 'patience' In Marriage by uche87(op): 11:05am On Nov 30, 2015
The caption of this piece has a metaphorical expression which is very much on purpose. Sit back and permit me to relate it with the state of affairs in Nigeria. Politics in Nigeria is as uncertain and disappointing as the casual romantic relationships among youths. The Nigerian masses since independence on the 1st of October 1960 have been falling flat for the same old method of aligning with politicians and being left with broken hearts taking eternity to heal at the expense of the country's treasury. Our politicians have always assumed the role of Shylock, offering the masses loans their lives will never be enough to pay back. This is evident in the material tips shared during the electioneering campaign period to win votes. It has conventionally been a case of winners and losers.

In the real sense, the losers are not the political candidates of the contesting political parties. The losers are the electorates who blindly celebrate with the winner they are looking up to for leadership. This maybe a bitter pill to swallow but it only takes the candidate's assumption of office before the blind masses begin to see the future from a crystal ball like wizards. Making reference to the article of the former adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Media and publicity, Reuben Abati, politics is seen in Nigeria from a business point of view.

Making the decision to run for a political post is the 'entrepreneurial idea', joining the happening political party to start the business is like securing a location to erect your office and getting sponsors to finance the business is the road-map to success so as to develop a wide channel to spread lies. In Nigeria, the best liar ends up winning and I can authoritatively say when Garba Shehu, the Assistant Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari called Lai (Lie) Mohammed, former Publicity secretary of the ruling party and Minister of Information, the 'Master of the Game' of the All Progressives Congress, APC during the inauguration of the Ministers of the Federal Republic, he was only being truthful but as usual, the shallow-minded masses laughed it off like it was a joke for them. When the masses buy your lies, you have an edge, you present yourself as the messiah, you study the weaknesses of your opponents and begin to defame him. Nigeria is a country when the politics of character assassination is practiced at its peak and issue-based debates are strayed away from.

Spreading of falsehood about your opponents could also be advantageous. Maybe one day, when Lie Mohammed clocks 80 and is set to write his memoir truthfully like Bode George, the People's Democratic Party, PDP chieftain plans to do, he will educate us more on the efficacy of propaganda which he successfully used to send our dear former President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan back to the flood-prone hometown in Otueke, Bayelsa state. Again the masses celebrated his exit. One woman who operates a big food canteen around the busy area of Challenge in Ibadan, Oyo state actually gave her food and drinks out for free on the day Goodluck Jonathan made that epic call to Buhari in concession of loss on the 31st of March, 2015. Till date, the woman is gnashing her teeth over that reckless decision as the only 'change' she has seen is the retrogressive one rather than progressive.

In fairness, there has been a 'change', the problem lies with the electorates who didn't understand the full contents of Buhari's change mantra which he is indirectly unveiling to us. Many who are secretly wailing will come out in the media to say its a positive change for fear of not sounding like a Femi Fani Kayode that has switched more sides in politics than a call girl. At least for the first time in 1999, Nigerians are getting poorer according to the Business Day newspaper and the Boko Haram insurgency has come to live with us like the female anopheles mosquito, giving us malaria since inception.

Now, as for President Muhammadu Buhari seeking the hands of 'Patience' in marriage, the word 'patience' purposely sounds like the name of a person but in this context it’s a mere noun that entails ''the capacity to calmly endure pains and uncertainties'' The only patience that strikes the mind of every Nigerian is the former First lady, Patience Faka Jonathan, the comical leader who entertained us with her impeccable sense of humour as a distraction while her husband allegedly looted the treasury for his unborn generation. Diariz god oh!

Buhari who has heavily been neglected over the years as he kept contesting since 2003 unsuccessfully like the presidential seat was his inheritance had a field day during the election campaign period. His campaign promises which many call lies on the social media were well strategized.
The APC intelligently presented him as a poor man as the masses started seeing the image of themselves in him. It was thought that people of the same class will understand each other’s languages better. Hence, the need to present a cattle rearer that cherishes a mud house in this jet age. What a calculated move to sway the electorates!

The key points of Buhari's speeches were Boko Haram insurgency, youth unemployment, ailing economy, poverty etc and ultimately 'Kwaraption' (corruption according to his northern accent). It’s possible Buhari really had the intentions but truthfully, there was no road-map to execute his agenda and the first indication is how it took him about 6 months to inaugurate his cabinet which smells of the politics of prebendalism.

Africans historically have an undue obsession with power e.g the 91-year old Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe who is planning to rule from a special wheelchair. Paul Biya of Cameroon has been ruling for 33 years, Dos Santos of Angola has clocked 36 years in power, Idris Deby of Chad has been ruling for 25 years amongst several other sit-tight leaders without an idea of how to advance the general will of the people with their power and authority. These set of people will never give room for innovation and fresh ideas from the positive energy from youths in the ever advancing world. They only engage in the recycling of old ideas of stagnancy in growth and development.

It was heart-soothing to hear Buhari speak as he toured Nigeria after he has seen life from the perspective of the north for decades. Buhari enjoyed the wet ground which was watered by Lie Mohammed, sorry I meant Lai Mohammed, (They seem the same anyway). Jonathan's widely believed below average performance gave a loophole to penetrate the hearts of his loyalists that for the first time, Nigerians pocketed some money from PDP and refused to give them their support in return. The victims of political scam started tormenting the culprits for the first time in the Nigerian history. People like Raymond Dopkesi, boss of the African Independent Television, AIT and Musiliu Obanikoro who were prominent front-liners in the campaign of Jonathan's re-election saw the bleak future from afar. According to Bode George who took a jab at Obanikoro that is currently observing the Nigerian drama from diaspora, Obanikoro and some other PDP chieftains embezzled the election funds needed to win supporters for Jonathan. I don't know how true this is. Probably, if you meet Bode George in your dreams, you can make inquiries. I am sure Obanikoro decided to cut his losses to avoid losing in both ways which would have been fatal. Nigerians were actually set to vote for Buhari despite him presenting a 'NEPA bill' as his certificate which is like a ghost we all talk about but no one has ever seen till date.

As an observer, I got a glimpse of Buhari's slow start as a president during the campaign period when the social media was awash with memes of Buhari claiming he will 'stabilize the global oil price' like he is OPEC, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. Buhari was fortunate there was no video footage to back it up like his goofs on the full meaning of INEC, name of his running mate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and his political party for crying out loud.

The reality of events is that Nigerians are looking up to Buhari to whom much has been given due to his firm campaign promises. He is seen as the torch-bearer poised to lead Nigeria out of the dark cave of the 16-year captivity of the PDP while Buhari himself looks up to the people behind him for direction. Hence, the need to 'Go slow' to avoid falling into the nearest potholes created by unscrupulous contractors and their political cohorts.

Its crystal clear Buhari felt leadership was as easy as making criticisms until Jonathan gave him the keys and the particulars of the 'wrecked vehicle' called Nigeria. Now, Buhari who used to be seen as the African Merlin is begging for 'Patience' like he is not satisfied with Aisha Buhari, his wife. The only 'patience' we Nigerians know is the former first lady from Port Harcourt whom we miss dearly and we are not accepting Buhari's proposal as she belongs to Jonathan. Therefore, on the denial of his marriage proposal, Buhari is urged to 'Go Fast'.

I am a strong supporter of Buhari but the truth must be told. Anybody that believes Buhari has brought a significant change must be a relative or beneficiary of the political appointees. Most of the appointees can be likened to shareholders that made huge investments with business risks and are currently reaping e.g. the Minister of Transport Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who unceremoniously became the highlight of the ministerial screening process at the senate.

According to the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Soludo, he stated during the third anniversary lecture of the RealMagazine news that we should support Buhari to succeed by contributing when we can and criticizing when we must which he described as 'tough love'. It may be too early to judge but I see the same old Nigeria of media talks and no actions. Its on record that the only time Buhari made the swiftest counter-action was on the alleged victimization of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki over a personal vendetta disguised with the law. I wish the president could channel that positive energy to the capture of the infamous leader of the Boko Haram sect Abubakar Shekau who orchestrated the rumoured killing of the 105 Nigerian soldiers and 34 later in Borno if the words of Femi Fani Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation are to be followed for once BUT with caution.

Last time I checked the news media, Boko Haram is still killing (maybe in a reduced form but lives are still being lost), the unemployment rate is still above 60% with an demeaning N5, 000 palliative underway, crime rate has been on the increase with calculated bank robberies across Nigeria and Lagos being the worst hit, kidnapping seems to be vastly replacing a career in the oil sector due to its lucrative nature (The current bank account balance of the U-23 national team coach, Samson Siasia will give you a vivid insight as his abducted mother wasn't released on a platter of gold), power issues are still the same with Buhari giving the same excuses of sabotage of the Jonathan administration, the queues at the filling stations have refused to disappear despite how Buhari and the APC smoothly criticized the fuel crisis of the Jonathan-led government, (The most painful aspect is the difficulty the senate is having summon Buhari who is deputizing as the Petroleum Minister. At least Buhari should appear for accountability and responsibility sake) and many other issues.

As I write this piece, I am struggling with the low battery on my laptop in utter darkness coupled with the scorching heat of the season and mosquitoes providing unprecedented cover for me like the operatives of the Directorate of State Security, DSS while my president is busy junketing with tax payers' money. I am patiently waiting for the benefits of the image he is building for Nigeria in the international scene as advocated by Shehu Garba who is only doing his job well.

The way Buhari is fighting the anti-corruption war in the media rather than in the court is mockingly admirable. I appreciate the way Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti actually challenged him to publish the names of the looters in Jonathan's regime who have been secretly returning their loots as Buhari claimed. Buhari may have reduced the cost of governance by merging some ministries, cutting the size of his entourage at international events as well as the cost of the Independence day ceremony compared to the Jonathan administration but his alleged cost of maintaining his presidential jets in 6 months which amounts to N5.8 billion according to the Punch still shows a loophole for the wastage of funds.

Furthermore, his inability to look into the N25 billion REMITTA and Systemspecs scandal still makes no changes.

The silence of the APC amidst the biting crisis of fuel scarcity before their Twitter message only showed a lack of valid explanation. And again, Lie Mohammed's unusual silence confirmed how lame he could be aside propaganda as many believe.

Fellow Nigerians, this is certainly not the CHANGE we voted for. Let's offer Buhari 'patience' if that's the boost he needs to take us to the Promised Land.

Funny enough they are yet to conclude the last recruitment process since March this year.
PoliticsBiafra: Open Letter To The Igbo Nation by uche87(op): 10:41am On Nov 09, 2015
Dear Igbos,

I hope my article meets you people well as you go about your daily businesses. The Igbos are highly industrious people who have risen from diverse humble backgrounds to the zenith. I was opportuned to watch the interview of the owner of Nigerian car distribution company, Coscharis in the person of Dr. Cosmas Maduka on Channels Television, who is an Easterner and I said to myself, Igbos are blessed people instituting financial breakthroughs in spite of the economical hardships and limitations Nigeria is faced with. This is just one of several inspirational stories of Igbo people who have broken the chains of generational poverty to a life of affluence. I am from the South-South part of Nigeria, Edo state to be specific but I grew up in Ibadan, South-West dominated by Yorubas. I must confess I never really liked the Igbos but as fate will have it, my boss is Igbo and several of my colleagues. Every day, I study the Igbos around me and the kind of vision they carry baffles me. I believe God anointed their hands to succeed in businesses. An Igbo man's entrepreneurial skills are in-born, he mayn't be able to read nor right, but his practical analysis of business strategies and ideas could beat a scholar in business studies with several postgraduate degrees.

An average Igbo man loves the good provisions of life. He wants to make money and live life to the fullest. In making money, there should be an enabling ground for his business to strive well which ranges from adequate security of lives and properties, loan facilities, favourable government policies E.t.c. Even in the face of inadequate social amenities to boost business growth and development, the Igbos have survived. The Igbos have spread across all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria as well as the world as a whole in a quest to exploit business opportunities. They have recorded massive successes that betray the capabilities of their academic qualifications.

Today, the advocacy of Biafra movement is an aberration to what the Igbos stand for. Biafra maybe called a 'movement' which I agree with but it’s more retrogressive than progressive. I shed tears when I read news about Pro-Biafra activists being killed or maimed under highly controversial circumstances by security operatives like the way the Niger Bridge linking Anambra and Delta states was shut down on the 6th of November during a 'one million man March’ It confirms the bible passage in the book of Hosea chapter 4 verse 6 that says ''My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge''

I have to be blunt to align with a recent statement by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the National President of the Youth wing of the Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Youth Council that the Igbo nation will incur irreparable losses from seceding from our great country, Nigeria.

Going by the words of SALLUST, ''By union the smallest states strive. By discord the greatest are destroyed'' And also, in the words of the former American President, Woodrow Wilson, We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose. We stand together until the end.

The chants of Biafra are only a reflection of how soon we have covered the indelible scars of the painful civil war of 1967 to 1970 with make-ups and beautiful clothes. Over two million beloved Nigerians from the Eastern part of Nigeria died as a result disease and hunger instigated by the blockade of food supplies by the Nigerian Army. What about the 5,000 Nigerian soldiers that were injured, captured and annihilated while making attempts to cross the River Niger from the town of Asaba to the Biafran city of Onitsha which is just one of the many fatal damages incurred in several gun duels between the Biafran soldiers and their Nigerian counterparts. A lot of rape cases, destruction of properties and huge waste of governmental funds in the purchase of military weapons to defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria were recorded. Today, the underlying factors of the war and the activities of leaders representing major tribes like Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was a Federal Commissioner for Finance in 1967 to 1971 and the then military Head of state, Yabuku Gowon has caused a discord which is being directly or indirectly passed from one generation to another. This has divided us, giving us different identities as different nationalities in the same country. Over ambitious leaders have sold goods and services of discord to us under the guise of fighting for our interests.

I started following up on the Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi Kanu inciting violence and spreading hate messages to secure the secession of our hallowed Igbo brothers and sisters. It will stun you that the so-called Radio Biafra was registered in the United Kingdom as a company by the revolutionist, Nnamdi Kanu and he has been sourcing for funds from well meaning Igbos and other sympathizers which is diverted for this private use. This rare information was revealed by his former Public Relation Officer and supposed ex girlfriend, Chioma Amaryllis who took the pains of visiting Nigeria to ascertain the claims of Nnamdi Kanu only to discover, his freedom movement was more of an idea of a 'personal' financial freedom as an innovation Igbo man seeking recognition. Nnamdi Kanu was captured on camera speaking at an influential gathering, making demands for arms and ammunition to force a break away from our beloved nation, Nigeria.

Nnamdi Kanu who to some myopic people is towing the line of the late South African leader and legend, Nelson Mandela by making a walk from prison to greatness was discovered to have been raising a private army which flaunted guns and other dangerous weapons in readiness for the backward movement called Biafra. That is treason and it attracts a death penalty as the 1999 constitution stipulates. The Rwandan genocide of 1994 which claimed 800,000 lives officially with thousands still missing till date was ignited by the same power tussle between the Hutu and the Tutsi. The bloody occurrence later unveiled the bestial nature of men which is typical of life in a state of nature when there were no laws as Thomas Hobbes described.

Making reference to the words of the late Andrew Owoye Azazi who was the former National Security Adviser to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Boko Haram insurgence grew out of the political disparities among the factions in the People's Democratic Parties as some faceless Northern elements were aggrieved by their lack of control of power. Today, the fire of Boko Haram insurgency has been fiercely burning for 6 years claiming the lives of over 17, 000 Nigerians, over 2.5 million people displaced, massive destruction of properties, the growth of several Internally Displaced People's camps with malnourished children whose formal educational life have been distorted. We don't even need to make reference to the disruption of economic activities; discouragement of foreign investors through the negative reputation Boko Haram has earned us as well as the wastage of developmental funds that would have been used to develop several areas of the ailing economy. Nnamdi Kanu was on the road to create another Boko Haram force for Nigeria at a different location with several light-skinned fighters. It beats my imagination how an activist who is living in the comfort of his home in Europe or America without a prior taste of hardship or a practical experience of the plight of his people will become their voice. What happened to the concept of participant observation method as a tool of research?

These so-called activists nurse mischief in their hearts and publicize them. Their immediate victims are the rugged people due to their shallow state of mind. They are mostly some technicians, Motor park touts, Mechanics, Carpenters, Artisans, criminals looking for opportunities to unleash mayhem, unemployed youths who are nursing different levels of anger against the government of the day. So they take to the streets to block busy roads. At the end of protests, the news changes from activism to incidents of rape, missing phones, jewelries, innocent people being stabbed and the perceived-wealthy class subsequently attacked to show you the nature of the protesters.

Nnamdi Kanu attempted or started a race he can't finish. Nnamdi Kanu spread hate messages and failed to show us a road-map on how the Igbo nation can stand economically as a nation and guarantee the well being of its citizens. He was trying to cut a suckling baby from his mother without any provision of nutrition for the toddler. It was easy for President Muhammadu Buhari to criticise the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during the presidential campaign period but on assumption of office, he was nicknamed 'Baba Go Slow' by his supporters due to his snail pace of development. This affirms the statement that 'uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'
Now Buhari is begging Nigerians for 'patience' like he wants to woo the former First Lady from Rivers state. This is the reality behind inordinate ambition and quests for power without proper planning or a vision.

As far as I am concerned, the present day agitation for the Biafra movement is what I regard as Biafra. It is clouded by selfish interests. When the 'national cake' is being shared freely in equity, our leaders will flaunt their Nigerian identities the way Nigerian entertainers flaunt their fake wealth on Instagram but dramatically, when an individual or certain individuals are short-changed in the power or resources sharing process, he uses ethnicity as a tool to brainwash people who are unaware of the underlying factors of his agitations and that is the ill-treatment politicians have put us through in the past. They school their children abroad with those ones making first class degrees at top universities across the world, while they equip the children of the common men with weapons and use them for mayhem after buying their loyalties with cheap stipends some may never live to spend. At their retirement from power through old age, they will initiate the return of their wards who will address the general public in queens English, foreign accent and wealth of knowledge that will appeal to the minds of the masses who lack exposure due to financial limitations.

On this note, I subscribe to the views of Senator Shehu Sani from Kaduna Central senatorial district in Kaduna state who reiterated that the Biafra movement is an initiative by the supporters of Jonathan to frustrate the Buhari administration as these elements were operating at very low ebb in the last four years.

It’s acceptable if you don't like the antics of President Muhammadu Buhari. His appointments have been truly sectional. I am a great fan of Buhari but his conk northern accent despite his exposure in politics over the years speaks volume of how much he is into the North. He doesn't seem to see the Nigerian nation outside the Northern part of Nigeria. This amounts to his unbeatable record in the North during the presidential elections as the cattle and other domestic animals even wished they could vote him in. He had to employ the services of the former Governor of Lagos state and All Progressives Congress, party leader leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sell him to the South-Westerners which was very successful during the election campaign period.
Buhari's time will come and go. At most, after 8 years of two terms in power which is in doubts, he will be gone as many leaders have done but our identity as Nigerians supersedes all personalities and individual interests. It will always remain. We should never let the manifestations of the ideologies of men divide us.

The secession of the Igbos and the accompanied struggle will only initiate a Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD). It will cause a major setback talking a cue from the plight of the people of Sudan who broke into South Sudan and Sudan today.

My dear Igbo brothers and sisters, don't be deceived my leaders without foresight, don't fall for an adverse movement. It’s my prayer that Buhari brings the promised 'change' and if he doesn't, we will be waiting for him in 2019 like we all patiently waited for Jonathan despite his alleged campaign funds of over N2 trillion. It is my wish that my few words open closed eyes so that events can be approached clearly in the interest of peace and national unity.
Nigeria is our cross; together we will take this great country to the summit.

God bless you all. - See more at: http://villagetowncrier..com.ng/2015/11/Biafra-open-letter-to-igbo-nation.html#.dpuf

One slogan of President Muhammadu Buhari that caught my attention during the general election campaign period was that ''If Nigeria doesn't kill corruption, corruption would kill Nigeria'' that statement seems very valid and heavy considering the well pronounced culture of seeing public offices as a gateway to wealth rather than an opportunity to serve by government officials.

Nigerians were tired of seeing calculated cases of corruption being swept under the carpet. The saga of the $20 Billion from the Excess Crude Account which dramatically developed wings and flew away, left Nigerians with many questions and a few answers. What about the nefarious activities of the former Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah, Halliburton scam, power project scam, the Closed Circuit Television installation scam of about $470 million, National Identity card project and many other cases that were trivially handled? The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC became relegated to leaving the 'Big Fishes' and going after internet fraudsters who mostly got away after paying their 'tithes'.

There was a need for a 'Sheriff' that will hold people accountable for their actions. Buhari has always emphasized his zero tolerance for corruption both locally and internationally. His declaration of assets if its to be used as a valid yardstick for measuring his integrity shows his level of transparency and trustworthiness. In Nigeria today, what Buhari boasts of after his advent in power since 1983 as a military ruler is what a Local Government Chairman may amass in a short period of a year or two. Zero tolerance to corruption entails a long distance from corruption which President Muhammadu Buhari has failed in. It has become clear to Nigerians that an idea of who is corrupt is not really an individual that is dishonest or has siphoned public funds but the political enemy of a politician in power. The anti-graft bodies have been used as a legal tool for blackmail, political lynching and victimisation since most politicians are fond of having skeletons in their cupboards. The ministerial nomination of the former Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi by President Muhammadu Buhari has stirred up much controversies in Rivers state even from the stage of rumours and media speculations with several petitions from Integrity Groups flooding the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC which have been unattended to simply because of his active membership of the ruling party, APC.

The Judicial Commission of Enquiry of Justice G.G Omereji set up by the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike who happens to be Amaechi's former ally and now sworn enemy concluded with the reports that Amaechi misappropriated a staggering sum of N53 billion from the N55 billion of the State Reserve Funds. Furthermore, Amaechi has been charged for the unprecedented sale of government properties and hospitals to private individuals without remitting the accrued funds into the state treasury. Amaechi failed to appeal to the minds of the masses when he failed to appear before the Wike instituted Commission of Enquiry for interrogation not even to satisfy history. Amidst all these political wrangling, Buhari went on to nominate him as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The scene of the presentation of the petitions of corruption from Rivers state against Amaechi in the Senate is appalling. The senator representing Rivers state constituency, George Sekibo was shouted down my APC members while a section of the PDP tried to give him support. This painted an ugly scenario and gave me vivid memories of my Secondary school days when we pupils showed excitement about the break-time. Amaechi may not be corrupt until proven guilty of corruption by a competent law court as the constitution demands but subjectively thinking, there is no smoke without fire. Amaechi's closeness to Buhari is synonymous to an angel dressed in white garment having a field play with a pig. Amaechi's relationship with Buhari affirms the popular claims by the Nigerian masses that Buhari was strongly supported financially by Amaechi with his loots from Rivers state.

Can Buhari turn against the corruption that financially empowered him to be the president? Will he close his eyes and beat the fingers that fed him? As long as people like Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Amaechi, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo still loitter around the Aso Rock Villa, the opposition party will continue to mock the anti-graft war which is only happening actively on paper with indicted politicians still enjoying their loots in fast cars, first class hotels and light-skinned University girls.

I am a great fan of Buhari but I just have to accept the President isn't ready to pay the expensive price of the anti-corruption battle by sacrificing his colleagues who were part of the rot. A true leader has to be good and bad at the same time. Good to the law-abiding citizens and bad to the state saboteurs in confirmation of Buhari's epic inaugural speech of ''belonging to nobody and belonging to everybody''. The statement seemed significant then but today, it is like the usual tales we have been listening to in a new dimension.

According to Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the fight against corruption was the excuse of all the coup plotters during the military regime exploited to topple the government of the day. It was the easiest route into the hearts of the masses. Is it safe to say President Muhammadu Buhari is refining a throwback strategy?

Proceeding, the ministerial screening of the former Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Raji Fashola has been applauded by Nigerians widely each time I play back how he handled questions as regards the allegations of spending N78 million on his personal website and using N139 million to sink two boreholes in Lagos state with a borehole officially costing just N200,000 ($1,000) approximately Nigeria, I weep for my country. Fashola played on the gullibility of the lawmakers to reaffirm his stand as an outstanding lawyer. Fashola shamefully stating he doesn't sign cheques and also his lack of understanding of figures due to lack of proper training in economics/figures shows the historical problems of accountability battling this country.
Fashola reminds me of a line from the song of Nigerian Singer, Omawumi, ''If you ask me, na who I go ask"

Many good people in Nigeria are engaged in so many bad things with excuses of the trends in the hierarchical structure. Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was accused of surrounding himself with corrupt advisers despite being a good leader and I can categorically say that Buhari's recycled cabinet also puts him on that dangerous path.

Time will tell, our words may not carry power or relevance but history will forever have it on record that we spoke the truth.

I am the Village Town Crier.

PoliticsCCT: Buhari Sets The Stage, Tinubu Directs The Drama And Saraki Acts by uche87(op): 12:40pm On Oct 01, 2015
The travails of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki in the highly publicised saga with the Code of Conduct Tribunal over an alleged false declaration of assets could be seen from a movie perspective. It could be safely referred to as a film project produced by President Muhammadu Buhari, covertly directed by the former governor of Lagos state in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the embattled Saraki as the main actor getting all the unprecedented attention.

The 'scenes' of Saraki's trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal depicts the high level of conspiracy and witch-hunt in the All Progressives Congress which is being adored as the agent of change in Nigeria. This only confirms my previous claims that politics in Nigeria remains the same but only the formation changes to beat the intelligence of the masses. These people control what we know, it’s a make-believe system with the back stage clips limited to powerful eyes. One day, Nigerians will wake up to the bitter truth that Buhari is the only 'Change' in APC while the other members could be referred to as a continuation of the 16-years modern slavery in the hands of the People's Democratic Party, PDP. Buhari publicly declared his assets which is an impression of his level of integrity. His fellow APC counterparts have strongly refused to follow suit and just a private disclosure before the Code of Conduct Tribunal according to the dictates of the 1999 constitution caused a ‘Saraki’ to slip in shame. This speaks volume of the staggering records of enormous wealth they have amassed over the years at the expense of the 170 million Nigerians and their undying passion to loot more in years to come.

We have all heard of Alhaji Ibrahim Coomasie former Inspector General of Police, IGP's 22-year old son, Ibrahim Coomasie Sarki from Daura, Katsina state whose father served under the late General Sani Abacha regime, flaunting his father's wealth on Instagram and ordering for the latest cars online. He is so known that car companies reply his Tweets on the social media. But what is his source of income? His father is retired and he is only a student. This is a question you may ask today and you may not live or publicly appear to ask the next. This is the life our greedy politicians want for their generations to come while an average Nigerian at the age of 36 celebrates buying a new Tricycle, 'Keke Napep' in the church or even buying a fairly used car of 1999 model in 2015 with the congregation shouting in celebration.

Back to my initial claim of Buhari producing a movie that showcases Saraki's stellar dance of shame, there has been strong rumours of a cold war between Buhari and Saraki over the alleged 'democratic coup' that saw Saraki emerge as the Senate President in which he liaised with members of the PDP, undermining the bad blood between both parties to achieve his undying ambition. The dramatic advantage Saraki took to secure his candidature in the absence of 51 APC senators waiting for a meeting with the president at the International Conference Centre in Abuja shows the fierce desperation in Saraki for power. This affirms the length Saraki could go to achieve his aims regardless of the limitations on ground. This is dangerous for APC as the same Saraki nurses a presidential ambition after publicly confessing he stepped down for Buhari at the 2015 presidential elections. All efforts by Saraki and his cohorts to seek Buhari's pardon failed as the president watched Saraki from a distance with adequate caution.

Saraki's emergence was a dirty slap on the face of Tinubu who got bored with his hold on the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos state for over 16 years and decided to move his ministry to the permanent site, by controlling power at the national level. Tinubu's candidates were Senator George Akume as the Senate President and then Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He gathered the support of eminent personalities within the APC and it was almost obvious that his wishes were coming to reality before events played south.

Saraki's emergence as the Senate President of the 8th National Assembly shook the foundation of APC and exposed the selfish interests of the party leadership all concealed with the slogan of 'Change' which also means the money collected after making a purchase. The leadership of the APC swiftly moved to quell the brewing crisis and urged the aggrieved parties to sheath their swords but Tinubu being an old cat in politics patiently waited for Saraki on his way home to prove to him that his 11 years ahead of Saraki in terms of age is invaluable.

Saraki was caught off guard in the web of a false declaration of assets with the ever passive Code of Conduct Tribunal waking up from its slumber of ages to assume the role of a criminal court to nail the unsuspecting third man in the political hierarchy of the Nigerian system. Saraki and his supporters have openly termed the 13-count charged slammed on him as an act of 'political lynching' by some powerful Nigerians who are against him for being the Senate President. Who are these faceless but highly powerful elements? Names may not be mentioned in print but going down the dramatic events of the race for Senate Presidency, Tinubu will be fingered.

63-Year old Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a perfect movie director who specialises in producing political contents. It would be recalled that the role of a director is never noticed in a movie except out of curiosity by the audience. The actors take the credit as the producers and directors fade into the background. This is a vivid analogy of the mode of operation of Tinubu. Let's take a clue from the way he 'scolded' the immediate past governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Raji Fashola for reasons not confirmed. Before the rift between Tinubu and Fashola, the latter was seen as a budding messiah in Nigerian politics making reference to his immense contributions to the development of Lagos state. Nobody knew he spent a whooping sum of N78 million on his personal website that could have freely being a blog and then another N139 million on sinking boreholes to produce 'crude oil' in Lagos.

The shots were fired at Fashola by a faceless shooter. Even when Tinubu wanted to use the PDP chapter of Lagos state as a shield to conceal his identity, it all came back to him. Tinubu is a specialist when it comes to directing of real occurrences from the background and letting others take the credit and hurt while he goes clean.

Tinubu initially set Ibrahim Lamorde, the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC against Toyin Saraki, the wife of the Senate President over cases of corruption traceable to her husband. It was a ploy to beat the firewall of Saraki through a weaker window. Saraki swiftly made a counter-attack that broke the camel's back by inviting George Oboh, the Chief Executive Officer of Panic Alert Security Services, PASS to expose the unremitted N1 trillion recovered from corrupt public office holders which were heartlessly embezzled by Lamorde and other faceless officials. This incapacitated Lamorde and caused a perpetual setback in the trial of Toyin Saraki.

Tinubu laid doggo till the 'dirty' Saraki with so many loopholes on his stint walked into his trap with a false declaration of assets. Saraki's failure to show up at the tribunal and also his action of seeking orders from higher courts to stall the proceedings gave Nigerians the perception that he may not be actually guilty, but he may be hiding a human head in the refrigerator of his inner chambers. The drama was protracted that Justice Umar Danladi of the CCT was forced to issue a bench arrest warrant against a high profile man like the Senate President in Nigeria. It would have been more shameful with the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase storming Saraki's abode to handcuff him.

Saraki may survive the storm with 82 senators (initially 84) out of the 109 senators in the National Assembly passing a Vote of Confidence on him, but seeing a Saraki stretching his neck and looking out of the dock as an accused is an epic dance of shame that will manifest when he wakes up his presidential ambition in 2019 as expected. It is rumoured that his ambition was the sole reason why he visited Maiduguri some months back to pacify the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs at their various camps.

With the camera focused on Saraki and the keen eyes of the audience being the Nigerian masses watching him wash his dirty linens outside on the order of Tinubu, there are strong lessons to learn. The stoning of Saraki at the Eid praying ground on Sallah day in Ilorin, Kwara state shows the preconceived view of the masses about him even though he hasn't been proven guilty by the CCT. The Nation newspapers being the first mainstream news platform to publish the 'stoning of the devil' like the Hajj scenario speaks volume of how strong their boss Tinubu wanted Saraki's shame publicised to dent the morale of him and that of his loyalists.

If the report that the prosecutor of Saraki at the tribunal, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) had his evidences provided by the executive governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El Rufai by virtue of his access to information as the former FCT minister in 2007 is to go by, it’s safe to say, the ploy to root out Saraki is a northern agenda.

And also, the rumoured 10 million man-match by northern youths to move for the resignation of Saraki confirms my initial postulation.

The controversies surrounding Saraki who is the number 3 man in the political hierarchy of Nigeria will contribute immensely in deterring the anti-graft campaign of Buhari going by the saying that 'charity begins at home'. Before you change the outside world, you have to change yourself and the immediate people around you. If Saraki believes his case is as a result of witch-hunt, then literally, he must have been a 'witch' for the hunter to come for him. An innocent mind fears no accusations.

Saraki's alleged political persecution also confirms the Elite theory in political science which postulates that the interests of the elites are paramount in their rulership of a state in the course of pursuing the general will of the people. Some certain political figures in Nigeria have become mystical agents determining the political climate of the country while the helpless masses can only watch with limited knowledge of developing events.

On a closing note, I am not a fan of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki who amassed so much wealth without a decent explainable means of how he generated them. When controversies are paramount, an element of truth can be subjectively deduced. Saraki's ambitious nature makes him a mosquito on the scrotum of the APC, it has to been taken out intelligently to avoid a perpetual damage to the scrotum.

Saraki if not carefully handled could bring about an exodus of majority of the APC senators to the PDP and give the latter a fair chance to elect a Senate President. This is very feasible considering the full support he is getting from the senators of the two warring parties. This could cripple the APC as they have been termed as an experimental project that will not stand the test of time.

This is just me thinking aloud again! I am the Village Town Crier.

PoliticsAnti-corruption Campaign: Top 'sacred Cows' Untouchable For Buhari by uche87(op):
Below are some eminent Nigerians that have an antidote to the sickness called 'Buharism' which has relegated the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madukwe to the hospital bed, and also given health worries to the former First Lady, Patience Dame Jonathan with other top players from the Jonathan-led administration:

(1) Chief Olusegun Obasanjo:

Obasanjo will always be remembered for the prominent role he played both locally and internationally in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari during the general election campaign which makes the former hold him in high esteem. Buhari will be forced to look over the former president's monumental record of corruption in the areas of the Halliburton bribery scandal, national identity card project, power project, Transcorp scam.

(2) Former Governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and President Muhammadu Buhari have received petitions from an Integrity group in Rivers state as well as the Rivers state chapter of the People's Democratic Party on the alleged corrupt practices of Rotimi Amaechi while in power. They include the transfer of a sum of $105m from the sale of the Power Assets proceed account with the Access Bank, unlawful payment and the conversion of N4.6 billion by Clinoriv Specialist Hospital and Leisure Limited, enrichment of Messrs Collect Nig Limited used as a conduit pipe to the tune of N1.5 billion to defraud the state government.

Strong rumours have it that Amaechi heavily funded the presidential campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari with the loots which makes him qualified for a presidential appointment rather than a probe.

(3) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu:

Lagos state has been termed as Tinubu's 'private business' and this is accounts for his 16-year political dominance over the state. Tinubu was one of the most instrumental backers of Buhari's presidential bid and this same supporter made the following assets out of government: Oriental hotel, Falomo shopping Complex, First Nation Airline, Lekki Concession Company, The Nation Newspaper, TV continental, Radio Continental, Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja shopping mall amongst others.

(4) Senate President Bukola Saraki:

Saraki, the former governor of Kwara state who was accused of assuming the post of the Senate Presidency of the 8th Assembly through a 'democratic coup' helped Buhari to secure the votes of electorates in Kwara state and largely in the South-West region of Nigeria. Saraki's political records are also tainted with acute corruption. He reportedly owns several properties in Nigeria worth millions of naira including a N700 million house in Victoria Island, Lagos that fetches him N96 million rent annually, he allegedly defrauded Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, between the year 1999-2003, he acquired 15 luxurious including a Ferrari, mansion worth four million, two hundred and fifty thousand pounds in London, while his Wife, Toyin Saraki bought a house worth 10 million pounds in London far back as 2001 e.t.c. She is also on the EFCC watchlist for offences linked with her husband.

(5) Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola:
Aregbesola has plunged Osun state into abject poverty as the civil servants haven't been paid for a period of 8-months. Imagine the plight of breadwinners with large families. Aregbesola also delivered his state to Buhari during the presidential elections. The National Publicity Secretary of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere in the person of Yinka Odumakin has submitted documents of corruption allegations against Aregbesola to the EFCC but will anything come out of it?

(6) Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar:

Atiku was one of the financiers of the All Progressives Congress, APC at the budding stage of the party due to his shortlived presidential ambition. Atiku's long history of corruption started from his days with the Nigerian Customs Service, he is allegedly worth $2 billion with most of his money hidden away in the Cayman Island, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates. Atiku is placed on the United States government list of Specially Designated Nationals (the OFAC SDN), a list made up of corrupt politicians, terrorist financiers, mafia lords and miscreants across the world.

(7)Former military Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar (Rtd):

Abdusalami is the leader of the Peace Committee of the 2015 general elections which is being termed as the 'Corruption Amnesty Committee'. Abdusalami has been described as a man with a close affinity to Buhari but his hands are not clean too. He has been linked heavily to the $182 Halliburton bribery scandal. This is contained in the new records obtained by the Paris-based Le Monde newspaper and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).

(cool Governor of Imo state, Rochas Ewele Okorocha:

Okorocha was Buhari's face in the Eastern part of Nigeria during the campaign period of the presidential election. This accounts for the regular visits of Buhari to Imo state and even after Buhari lost to his counterpart, former president, Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP in Imo state. Okorocha has been accused of the sale of all the General hospitals in Imo state to his friends from the Northern part of Nigeria, illegal deductions of salaries of civil servants for government identity cards, appropriation of state funds without recourse to budgetary provision, misappropriation of funds meant for local government councils and the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC) and many other graft allegations.

*Sitting under the Mango tree at the village square with a long chewing stick in his mouth*

Hmmm..... President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-graft storm would forever be tagged 'partial and insincere' as long as it doesn't sweep the above people away or better still prove them innocent through a concrete investigation.

PoliticsWhy Buhari's 2-months In Power Is Better Than Jonathan's 6-years by uche87(op): 10:31am On Aug 06, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari's Administration Thus Far!

The era of former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the People's Democratic Party, PDP has come and gone. He gave his best fight in his exorbitant efforts to retain the presidential seat during the elections. He impressively gathered sum total votes of 12,853,162 as against his All progressives Congress, APC counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari who had 15,424,921votes at the recently concluded March 28, 2015 presidential elections. The massive support shown to Mr Jonathan was borne out of the loopholes of heterogeneity of the Nigerian state, power of incumbency, and the menace of money politics which has eaten deep into the roots of the political system in Nigeria. Its imperative to mention that several electorates traded their conscience and views over some material benefits during the general elections. His votes were less representative of his achievements in the Nigerian state. This is the expectant result of a leader that was rumoured to have spent over N2 Trillion for his presidential campaign which is half of the Nigerian budget for the year 2014.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan can't be said to have 'slept' throughout his 6-year stay on the highly presidential chair as he recorded remarkable achievements in the areas of agriculture, the Almajiri project, fairly in the area of youth unemployment through the SURE-P project and YouWIN e.t.c The 54-year old Nigerian state was heading to the graveyard as a result of two major viral infections Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had virtually the wrong medications to. Poor Nigeria was simultaneously suffering from political corruption and the menace of Boko Haram insurgency. Nigeria became a victim of the resource curse theory. The 6th largest producer of the highly lucrative crude oil in the world became the same country with over 60% unemployment rate, about 110 million people living in poverty. The resources of an entire nation became shared among a privileged few while the masses battled for the crumbs meant for the ants. This same country where armed robbers are brutally murdered while the oil thieves wrecking fatal havoc in a subtle way cover the front page of big magazines in adoration. The masses all suffer in silence and take their hopes to the religious organizations. The oppression was intensified through the removal of the oil subsidy on the 1st of January, 2012 which was a way of telling the generality of the masses to pay for the luxury goods they never bought. I am not an Economist but I wish to be enlightened on how Nigeria's status as the largest economy in Africa translates into the well being and betterment of the lives of the people with millions living below a dollar per day.

Jokes EtcTop 10 Embarrassing Moments In A Lagos Bus by uche87(op): 11:10am On Aug 05, 2015
Every minute spent in a public transport in Lagos gives you unique experiences about life. The memories are meant to be forgotten and only to be recalled when you are smiling down on it from the top because of the awry nature of the numerous occurrences.

Below are some of the several awful experiences I have learned to laugh over to ease my frustration:

(1) Entering without your change:
Imagine the look on the ever angry-looking conductor when you offer him a sum of N500 or N1000 for a payment of N50 after he must have given you a prior warning before boarding the bus. This could lead to undue attention in the vehicle.

(2) Sitting with a passenger with an armpit and mouth odour:

This is paramount to our ''mommies'' in the in the trading business especially the Igbo women selling Okporoko, Ugwu leaves and other soup ingredients. Some even ooze like they bathed with locust beans. My major problem is that they will always interfere in all issues and this circulates the odour.

(3) Entering with a market woman that puts her load on your leg:
The morning period is the time the traders dealing in food materials go out to purchase their merchandise for sale. Imagine someone putting a bag of crayfish on your leg when you are heading to work corporately dressed on a serious day like a Monday. Hmmm!

(4) Sleeping pass your bus stop:
It’s easier to doze off in a lag bus after waking up too early or being stressed at work. It’s too embarrassing to wake up and find yourself around another strange bus top. The bus conductor could as well collect an extra pay for the service.

(5) When a bus preacher sits beside you:

It would be far from being funny when you discover the passenger close to you is a bus preacher who shouts on top of his voice to preach the word of God. I once listened to someone who preached with a Calabar accent. It was like rapture was imminent.

(6) Pick pockets:

That awkward moment when you dip your hands into your pockets very close to your bus stop and realise the money was issued a Visa by one pick pocket and it flew away. The funniest part is that the conductor would think you are trying to con him.

(7) Bus conductors disappearing during hold-up:
This is common among conductors plying the Festac-Mile 2 route; they rush you for payment while anticipating the grid-lock and then quietly disappear as a way of tying you to the bus throughout the stressful bad traffic.

(cool Passengers with odd loads:

One woman once squeezed a small goat into her Bagco bag and entered the bus, half way to her destination, the kid cried aloud in discomfort as she tried to suppress the animal. Everybody was shocked! What about a fish seller that enters with her goods after a stressful day selling? That's an unwanted but most dominating air-freshener.

(9) Conductors denying the collection of money from you:

Events could take a dramatic twist when some conductors either purposely or forgetfully demand payment from you two times. This could lead to a bitter argument that will be unpleasant to one cute working class lady you are eyeing in the vehicle. A conductor once asked me for money 5 different times after I had paid him.

(10) Sitting with a fat woman:
Plus-sized women are like the nightmares of passengers and conductors. Some full-time house wives could be so full-figured that they will occupy the seats of three slim people in the vehicle leading to a controversy and discomfort of the passengers. Some women with some 'ikebe' sizes really need to go get their own private vehicles for the sake of peace.

Thanks for reading thus far; I am the Village Town Crier. This is to lighten up your mood. Everyday isn't for bitter arguments about politics.

CrimeTop 5 Lessons From The Death Of Razak Tunji Alaaso A.k.a "Alhaji Gay" by uche87(op): 3:12pm On Jul 22, 2015
The death of the notorious hunter of internet fraudsters (Yahoo Bois), Razak Tunji Alaaso a.k.a "Alhaji Gay" which took place on the 19th of July, 2015 around his residence at Mosalasi road, Agbado Ijaye, Lagos has been widely celebrated by youths in Nigeria on the social media.

The celebrations over the death of an individual who was allegedly hacked to death with his evident mutilated body exposes the level of decadence in the Nigerian society. Below are a couple of lessons one can draw from the unusual excitement over the gruesome death of a fellow human being:

(1) Majority of Nigerian youths are into internet scam:

This point bores down to the over 60% rate of youth unemployment in Nigeria. When the legal means are not available, the illegal routes are mostly adopted. If you have ever had dealing with the late Alhaji Gay as a youth or adult, then you are into internet fraud. His name is only known to those in the ''Yahoo circle" as he cheated them massively under the guise of representing the Nigerian Police force and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. He allegedly seized cars, houses and funds running into millions of naira depending on the wealth status of the fraudster.

(2) High level of corruption in the Nigerian Police Force and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC:

The police and the EFCC were misrepresented by the late Alhaji Gay. He reportedly had guns, handcuffs and other sensitive materials used by certified security operatives. I heard of him when he invaded a bank in Ibadan to effect arrests of internet fraudsters. He moved in a convoy as a security operative using hoodlums as his men. He extorted money illegally from offenders unhindered. He tortured some uncooperative individuals in uncompleted buildings under the nose of the Nigerian police. He went as far as traveling outside the country to places like Ghana, South Africa, Malaysia and other havens of Yahoo Bois to effect the arrests under the auspices of the same police and EFCC. They severally released disclaimers on him but he was never brought to book because they were taking cuts from him. He was highly connected among the police and the EFCC operatives. These affiliations helped him in commanding the obedience of the arrested scammers.

According to the Punch newspaper, over 25 landlords of the Alagbado street in Lagos on the 15th of July, reported him to the Lagos state Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos prior to his death over the illegal sale of lands and sexual harassment of males. They stated he was above the law.

(3) The Nigerian society has successfully embraced internet scam:

Following the social media reactions especially on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and top comments on blogs, several youths that were not into internet fraud joined the infamous bandwagon of Yahoo Bois to celebrate the abrupt demise of their unrepentant tormentor. This goes a long way to tell you that financial crime has become a norm in the country which is totally unacceptable. Impromptu parties were thrown and a lot of victims of the late Alhaji Gay shared their ordeals with him openly. They allegedly kept their bitter encounters with him fearfully secret.

It should be noted that these youths will outgrow internet fraud one day and become leaders in the areas of politics, businesses, religious organizations, Non-Governmental organizations etc with the same mentality and culture of fraud. This accounts for the high rate of corruption that has crippled the Nigerian society. President Muhammadu Buhari recently told the United States of America that the accumulated looted funds are in the region of a staggering figure of $150 billion over the past 10 years.

(4) Living life on the fast lane is the fastest route to untimely destruction:
Alhaji Gay lived his life on a fast lane. He was accused of an array of offenses ranging from illegal arrests, battering, torture, impersonation, illegal extortion of money from suspected criminals, seizure and sale of landed properties and cars. He was even accused of a crime as heinous as murder. According to his victims, he used voodoo which helped him in gathering intelligence reports as well as for protective purposes.

(5) Most Nigerian ladies indirectly support internet fraud:

A study of the celebrating circle revealed that there were several females among them. It is appalling that Nigerian ladies have sold their conscience for financial benefits. The name "Alhaji Gay'' is far from being strange to them as they usually hear their Yahoo boyfriends discuss him. Nigerian ladies are known for reaping from funds whose sources are unknown to them and even when they know, they hardly care so far they are getting a large chunk of it. These are not the ladies needed as wives.

Furthermore, the late Alhaji Gay had a network of informants that fed him with intelligence reports on huge scams in Nigeria and outside the country as perpetrated by Nigerian youths. One social media user said he received a call from him while he was in Malaysia. The deceased mandated him to send his share of a recent big scam he orchestrated. The way he swiftly got information was diabolical to people. This also exposes the degree of betrayal in the ''Yahoo industry'' as the fraudsters were always found snitching on themselves especially after a huge hit.

It is hoped that Nigeria gets better someday so that our youths can look away from internet scam to other productive engagements. This will enable them to reach their full potentials in life towards the greatness of Nigeria.

PoliticsBoko Haram: Top 8 Worst Decisions Of President Muhammadu Buhari by uche87(op): 10:38am On Jul 21, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari vehemently criticised the past administration led by ex President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during the presidential election campaign for failing in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria. Nigerians were cajoled by his former status as a military General which created the mental image of a King leading his village to victory in a war as we had in the olden days.

The best proactive steps ex President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan took was the usual condemnation of Boko Haram attacks via press statements and in over 30 days, President Muhammadu Buhari isn't far from that line. The President at the age of 72 right now must be realizing we only stop learning when we die; it’s easier to be a spectator or commentator than being the game player. Now that Nigerians have mandated him to operationalize his visions on curbing the Boko Haram sect, he has realized the heat the Cook endures at the kitchen while the master impatiently awaits his meals in the comfort of the living room.

Below are the 8 top worst decisions of President Muhammadu Buhari on the state of insecurity in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria:

(1) Nationwide dismantling of all military checkpoints:

On the 22th of June, 2015, Buhari ordered all military checkpoints in Nigeria to be dismantled. We all thought it was a viable strategy with a backup plan as the check points reduced the proliferation of light and heavy arms. This increased the attacks instantly that the Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong had to defile the order of the President as he installed all the military checkpoints after the twin bomb blasts that hit the city of Jos on the 6th of July, 2015.

(2) Starting a probe of the Nigerian military on extra-judicial killings on the request of Amnesty International:
The decision by Buhari to launch a probe into the case of extra-judicial killings perpetrated by the Nigerian army as tabled by the Amnesty International was a wrong call. Soldiers were dying at the war front to save lives, families were losing their breadwinners and the greatest incentive a president could use to boost their morale was awaiting trial. Buhari is too experienced to be cowed by the antics of the international community. Wasn't this the same Buhari that stood his ground against the International Monetary Fund, IMF when they wanted to coerce him into obnoxious loan terms during his tenure as the Head of State from 1983 to 1985?

(3) Relocating the Nigerian Military Headquarters to Maiduguri:

The question I wish to ask anybody frowning at this view is that what has been the impact of the relocation of the military headquarters to Maiduguri which is the stronghold of the Boko Haram sect? The attacks have increased with the sect sticking to their old ways of massive suicide attacks since the relocation. This may be coming too early but Boko Haram's dynamism in strategies keeps beating the intelligence of our highly trained and overpaid security operatives. This is an anomaly.

(4) Retaining the Service Chiefs that failed ex President Goodluck Jonathan for over 30 days:

Going by the pattern of the ''blame game'', as Buhari faulted ex president Goodluck Jonathan over his poor handling of the Boko Haram sect, it is safe for Jonathan to blame the service chiefs namely Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Kenneth Minimah; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Adesola Amosu which he appointed, as they were directly in charge of the operations against the sect. Buhari did the unthinkable by retaining the same set of failing service chiefs in his administration for over a month and was mapping security strategies with the same set of people. The same sets of methods are bound to yield the same results. This questions the president's military credentials.

(5) Romance with the United State of America who is bent on compelling him to legalize same-sex marriage.

As a political scientist, I belong to the realist school of thought that believes the international system is a game of interests. It is not a community built around love and freebies. Buhari's intimate romance with the United States of America on security issues will lure him into taking decisions that conform to the interests of America and this mayn't cope with local realities. The United States Assistant Secretary of state for African affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield's recent statement of the U.S 'compelling' Nigeria to accept same-sex marriage is another case at hand. Who knows what America will ask for in return? Our sovereignty is on the line. Remember America spied of several French Presidents, Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy
and Hollande, even listening to their phone calls despite the fact that U.S and France are allies.

(6) Exclusion of Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo on issues of national security:

On two occasions, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was locked out of meeting with security chiefs on the order of President Muhammadu Buhari as reported by the media. This gives us a feel of the dictatorial past. Osinbajo is a great intellectual asset in Nigeria that Buhari is yet to exploit. Osinbajo's economic views are stellar and I believe he can cover up for the excesses of Buhari on security issues.

(7) Negotiation/Amnesty for the Boko Haram sect:

An ardent follower of President Muhammadu Buhari will tell you he has virtually gone back on all his campaign promises which the leadership of the All Progressives Congress have termed as propaganda. APC national party leader and former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential election campaign suggested an amnesty programme for the faceless Boko Haram members which Buhari fiercely opposed to. I was impressed by Buhari's stand despite dead allegations that he is linked to the sect. Of recent, I was shocked to the marrow of my bones when Buhari told the press that he is open to a negotiation with the Boko Haram insurgents. We should recall the insincerity of the Boko Haram sect in negotiations which mocked the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan. Even if we want to negotiate, what will be Boko Haram's terms? Do they have a cause? Releasing their top leaders which they suggested in the past is like sharing your weaknesses with an opponent.

(cool Relocation of Boko Haram prisoners to the Ekwulobia prison in Anambra:
I am not against the Federal Government's directive or relocation of the 47 Boko Haram prisoners to any part of the country but why would Buhari sanction the relocation of high-level prisoners of the Boko Haram class to the Ekwulobia prison in Anambra state that is not even a 'maximum prison'? This poses a huge security risk due to the sect's records of successful jailbreaks in the past. The response of the Igbos was predictable to avoid undue attention of insurgents who have the financial power and military capability to orchestrate a collateral attack on any security facility.

In conclusion, my highlighted list is borne out of a desire for change in the poor security approach to Boko Haram in Nigeria and not hatred for President Muhammadu Buhari whose campaign train I joined from the first day he signified interest in the presidential seat.
