Lg chairman is more powerful than a commissioner. A lg chairman is the governor of his lg with both fg allocation and internal revenue. the lg also matters. |
Abdulaziz Ude is from Udi in Enugu and not from Anambra. |
Does it matter? The US was once a colony of the UK. They fought and got their independence in 1776. Now the US dominates the UK in everything and they UK does everything to please them. The Igbos are superior to them today |

ejimatic:The evil judgement was built on the unconfirmed absence of Justice Obiora. They allowed Oyetolas appeal on a technicality and didnt delve into the facts of the case. None of the facts of the case was contested. The majority judgement said they would have returned the case to the tribunal if not for constitutional limitations. So the those grounds of appeal were allowed based on a technicality. Stop twisting the case to make it look as if justice was served. It wasn't On your claim that Olanipekun knew that he was absent is hearsay evidence. That claim was contested by the defense. For the appeal court to go ahead and rule for the appellants on challenged facts is evil. |
But the fact that justice obiora didnt attend sitting that day cant be confirmed. That's the basis of the minority judgement of the appeal court. Justice Mbaba called it hearsay evidence because it was based on a paper he didnt sign. He said since he wasnt called to testify,or a sworn affidavit from him confirming his absence then it cant be proven as fact. That it could be as a result of mischief of the people transmitting the written record of appeal. The OP was writing his as if justice obiora absence wasnt contentious. I wonder the logic these rats use at times |

How's shipping weight calculated? Not clear. Is it the item weight or shipping weight that's used? |
luvme0702:Once your age on graduation is within the range of those eligible to participate in the scheme, you must do it even if you are over the age limit when you choose to participate . Can't be waived based on current rules |
Do as instructed by your uncle. Go for nysc. Use connections/clout to get your nysc certificate. Your concern is based on lack of exposure. Nysc certificate has been arranged for years. Nothing new. |
Emeka was the best graduating student of the whole of unn in 2004. Know him well. Cool guy. Won't believe he did this. |
PrinceMario:LOL. Guy you're harsh! |
elume2020:You're in research. In research basic sciences are king since they provide the tools engineers use. But thats research. In the real world not so. In all that you're quoting,in business mbas and consultants run the show. So I think your suggestion not appropriate. An engineer will always be needed if he's good. A mathematician or statistician is mostly research based. Another thing being overlooked here is that the smartest people in sciences will most probably do an engineering course than basic science.proof?look at silicon valley or top schools in the western world. Are mathematicians more than engineers? Smartest chaps will always follow the money. |
uracocksucker:Another opinion not based on facts. Can you name where a maths grad will be recruited an engineering grad won't be here aND abroad? My advise to the op is he should read that he's capable of. I read electronic engineering. Mechanical engineering is the broadest of all the engineering and the toughest. It's made up of 7 branches with little relations-machine design, thermodynamics, material science, fluid mechanics, elect/elect,machine drawing and management. To be an engineer is to build things. Do you like to build things following any of the laws of the discipline listed above. I didn't when I studied electronic engineering. The moment I resumed I knew engineering wasn't meant for me. Economics/accounting, physics or chemical engineering(has little to do with chemistry) will have been apt for me than electronic despite been a hot course. I continued because I knew that it didn't limit me from working in consulting or finance ,my original plan. I wasn't also struggling with it. My maths and physics background was excellent. I just got classmates to always fix my practical assignments. Self awareness is the key to success. So I NEVER sought work as an engineer. Why? I would've have been a mediocre one. I knew my chosen route well. Acca/aca,cfa or mba and you're good to go. The question really is what do you want to be?what's your strength? While everything in electronic/electrical is related not same for mech-too wide. Stop spewing the rubbish that jobs are hard to find. It will surprise you to know that there is actually a shortage of electrical/electronic engineers in nigeria-i mean good or average ones. The ones not employed how good are they? Also Nigerian grads don't know the importance of soft skills. They as important as your degree. Reading widely and ability to find and use information very important. Good interpersonal skills. The writing skills of so many grads is appalling. Tell him/her to write an essay on anything and you'll be shocked. Poor English speaking skill. You'll see grads going for aptitude tests unprepared or preparing amiss(not finding out the kind of test to be administered or style or kind of interview and preparing accordingly). When he flunks he blames it on everything but himself. Majority of Nigerian grads believe 'connection' is the way to get a job or promotion, thereby killing their ambition to to prepare for opportunities. Know your self,be informed then act wisely. |
Freciprocal:I strongly disagree with the post above. What do you mean that mechanical engineering will limit him to its field? What an ignorant statement. Kennedy uzoka,DMD uba(mech engineering),Philips oduoza md uba(civil) femi olaloku Ed treasury(civil),titi osuntoki Ed access bank(civil),eli as Igbinakenzua Ed access(elect) rasheed olaoluwa(civil) md Bank of industry(civil) etc so what do you mean it restricts him within the field?your case, if true, is an outlier not a normal occurrence. If I may ask,how many mathematicians does baker hughes,Schlumberger, transocean and Halliburton recruit as field engineers? As an electronic engineering grad I know of classmates working in aĺl including oil majors doing everything from petroleum engineering to pipeline engineering. Omobola Johnson former ceo Accenture and minister for communication technology is an electronic engineering grad. How did it restrict her from working as a management consultant? Even in the US, among fortune 500 ceos, engineering degree's was the most major prevalent. Talk facts not sentiment |
Who ever tells you to choose maths over engineering assuredly doesn't know what he's talking about. Engineering gives you the widest scope of job possibilities over any discipline with electrical/electronic engineering the widest. Go to any finance or audit institution, you'll observe that people with engineering degrees predominate over any discipline. The MD,DMD and ED treasury of UBA are grads of engineering. In the oil industry, engineering is so revered that even geologists will tell you that engineers are trained to do their jobs. To be admitted into IPS port harcourt(jointly run by TOTAL and uniport) any engineering degree suffices, even polymer of agric engineering! Never heard them admitting mathematicians or physicists! For the chap who talks of quants job in US investment banking, the chap is surely ignorant. Does he mean engineers won't be taken if applied? Crazy! Engineers surely dominate recruitment hires there if not the discipline financial engineering as a grad course won't be available to them. Isn't quantitative finance the application of maths , statistics and computer science to finance-like any engineering discipline? So whats difficult in there for someone with an engineering not to fit in? In nigeria, choose engineering over maths and if in developed western countries, whatever you're best at. |

As a graduate of unn i'm disappointed in his characterisation of unn students as not exposed. You should know that he's a law grad and most law students do not tend to see their future with the big four. But he can't say same of the management faculty. Many unn grads of the faculty of business are working in the big four. Yours sincerely, an electronic engineering grad, knew of classmates or people of my dept who worked and are working there. Electronic engineering grads own a lot of software firms doing big biz in nigeria e.g C2G,seamfix,byteworks,parkway projects, first spectrum etc. Your characterisation should have been limited to law students. Even at that, nduka ikeyi a unn law graduate, worked in KPMG and was also lecturing in unn part time before he became enugu attorney general. So law students during this time would have been aware of KPMG. So pls edit that write up and stop displaying your own mental environment as unn or eastern-based students fact! |
