Hello Nairalanders, i am in a bit of a bind. I am trying to get a PCC from Mauritius as i lived there for 7 months but i am currently in Nigeria.
I sent a mail to them and they replied stating that they only give out Certificate of Character and not PCC. I was told to send my passport, residence permit and birth certificate to process the CoC. I scanned all three and sent to a friend’s (Mauritius resident) email who printed them and took them to their divisional headquarters. The people there told him to inform me that they need to see the original physical documents and not copies so i must send them via courier services.
Furthermore, there is no high commission for Mauritius in Nigeria to help make things easier.
My issues are:
1. I cannot trust too many hands with my passport
2. I do not know how long my passport is going to be with them and they don’t know either because i spoke with them on phone and pleaded with them to see reason. Also, I occasionally have impromptu reasons to travel so my passport cannot be too far away from me. I don’t know anyone else in this situation.
Please what else can i do?

Yes, my friend visited this address as well as other divisional headquarters. The situation remains the same. They still require my original documents.

Go to other forums like Canada visa and ask Mauritius locals who are resident in other countries how they did it. I'll check with some contacts and see what I come up with.

Only person I have seen here that lived in Mauritius and applied for Canadian PR is @Dotcman but i cannot get across to him/her and i’ve tried sending emails.
Please what else can i do?

I asked because sprint 5c cannot be unlocked with a chip. U can just use it as ipod. Just look for any sprint sim. It will activate. Forget about putting sim and just use like ipod

I've never tried to use it with any sim because it is locked

Now the phone is asking for a sim to activate which i don't have... Please, how can i activate and unlock this phone. And how much does it cost to unlock... Thanks again.
