filypo: Is there any possibility to my case? It's just the year of birth that's different. The day and month is accurate. Is there any chance of me getting a visa? How should I order my answer if the question arises. I'll appreciate if you kindly give me the name of the school |

filypo: Dear VO,
First, in November 2003 I attended an interview at the US consulate in Lagos, I was denied visa. Currently I'm in Dubai and in 2016 July I attended an F1 visa interview here but was denied visa. The situation now is in 2003 my DOB was 01.07.1977 but my current passport is 01.07.1981 and my Form I-20. I was asked by the VO the reason why there was a change of year in my passport and before I could answer the question I was disqualified on that ground.
How do I salvage the situation as the same school have re-enroll me with a full tuition waiver and assistanship to work while studying. How do I defend this misfortune that has befell me and has been plaguing me since that last visa denial.
Can I use a lawyer? any information will be of great help.
Thank you in anticipation, waiting for your favorable response. bro can you kindly tell me the name of the school and their requirements for full scholarship. I'm searching for schools that waive full tuition. |

anodebeanthony: You are right. One university said they will give me scholarship between $2000 to $8000 when they admit me. And they don't need SAT, although they asked me my age then and I told them. They said if am above 22 year then I don't need SAT and not only that school said that and am sure some school will offer you scholarship with or without SAT.
Please can someone correct me if am wrong. please can you kindly give us the name of the school because I'm above 22yrs and I'm considering applying for undergraduate. |

PrinceDekunle: Try to register and sit for SAT and TOEFL. If you can nail SAT together with your 'very good' WAEC result, there is 97% chances you'll get a full scholarship in a US school. please can anyone kindly let me know if WES also evaluate Waec result and secondary school transcript when one is applying for undergraduate? |

tolajay: So, I'm interested in doing an M.A in Communications at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Shot the school an enquiry mail about my Final Year undergraduate status and they confirmed that I commence the application process.
I further asked on the need for a language proficiency test and scholarship opportunities and here's the response: "Hello, since you are from an English speaking country and are not required to submit a TOEFL or IELTS your scholarship amount will be based on G.P.A. only."
The school has directed that I send in my transcript via WES...Read a bit about them, though.
Could you please guide me through the certificate/transcript submission process.
Cc Walspring Drocks Lagosismyhome what's the minimum GPA required by the school, and is did the school request for Gre? |

mctowel01: Partner points can only be claimed by an applicant if the spouse has gotten a positive assessment in an occupation on the same list as the occupation of the main applicant. The requirement of work experience is dependent on the accessing body of the respective occupation. Thanks for your reply, EA does not require work experience as long as you are not claiming points for it. |

Scholastica16: Kinematicguy is actually right. The ranking of schools on whatever list is skewed and depends on alot of things- one of which is propaganda. I think the rankings may be right to some degree at Undergraduate level, but I am 90% sure it is wrong at higher academic levels. Understanding modules, writing tests and making reports are just a fraction of graduate work and having to compress it into less than 9 months makes the UK system look questionable. There is also a very evident paucity of research culture or environment in their educational system but that may be my bias talking.
Also, some schools are ranked lower than others in their entirety but may be stronger in individual or specific programs than others. Let me use Harvard for example, their engineering programs are not vaunted or highly recommended but they would always top most rankings due to their history, endowments as well as the strength of their business and law school programs. So one would not be amiss to opt for a petroleum engineering program in Oklahoma or Tulsa University over Harvard for the reasons above.
I ran across a moniker on this platform who had 2330/2400 in his SATs and was offered admission to CALTECH, MIT and Georgia Tech (if I am not mistaken). I believe he attended Loyola Jesuit and got either full-funding or something substantial to attend either of those schools. His parents recommended MIT (Reputation and top ranked at the time) but he disagreed and went to CALTECH. Few years passed and after he had graduated, he came back here to say he had no regrets whatsoever for attending CALTECH and would continue to recommend them over MIT.
It sounded incredible at the time, but Sheldon Cooper (Jimmy Parson's character on "The Big Bang Theory" seems to assert that alot on the show.
I am just passing by sha... hope everyone is ok.
I am expecting my offer this week unfailingly. Hello if someone have a only c in his Waec result and have a score of 2000/2400 ,what is the probability of obtaining a scholarship in any of the top schools in US or even low ranked school. is the scholarship based on only the Sat or Sat combined with Waec? |

You just have to search well...and then get info from people in such schools.
