That one is if you claim to be a certified engineer with a professional body ... E.g, NSE, COREN, IEEE.... Of course you'll have to prove it
.thanks bnimz for your response. I don't want to claim a certified engineer since I don't belong to any engineering body. I hope EA won't throw a red flag if I don't include it in my documents. thanks.

Hello gurus in the house, one of the checklist of EA assessment is Registration certificate of the licensing authority e.g Philippines Regulation commission. I don't understand what they mean by this. can anyone tell me what is the meaning.

[quote author=dunk2011 post=55234793]Ladies and gents ..Been out of sight for a while ..Well am back to stay for good .
Well ..What he stated abt working in Korea is true ..But my brothers and sisters....
Don't even think abt working in Korea ..Am talking from experience after living in Korea for over 3yrs ..Lucky enough I was there on a special assignment and everything was provided for me ...But this is from my fellow Nigerians living there ..
Everyone of them hated working in Korea ..Long stressful hours ..With almost no time to eat or breath ..
U get paid nothin..what do you mean by you get paid nothing, do you mean everyone working in Korea don't get paid at the end of the job,how about people doing non factory job, do they also face such challenges.

[quote author=martinoonline post=55208122]Hello e-family....I'm so happy to have just got my 476 grant, thanks to Bellong and you all wonderful people.

I'm still trying to lodge an application for 189 before making any move and I have some issues abeg.

I couldn't find my Msc course on the SOL, however I was able to find my BEng (Materials Engr) on the SOL. Can I go ahead to pick Materials Engr? I do not have any cognate experience in this area apart from my 6 months IT and some project works, though I've learnt that EA can assess one even without experience.

Another worry is my observation from the Anzsco website on this my occupation choice.
From attached image, Anzsco wrote that the occupation is not eligible for 189, and this is the case for almost all engineering occupations that I checked on the Anzsco website eventhough they're currently available on the DIBP SOL list. Or did I misunderstand the Anzsco site?

Please help....
@bellong
@jukeblam
@anyone who has gotten positive EA assessment

Thanks everyone! congrats on your grant. please can you kindly explain 476 to me, does it require point like 189 and I90.i will like to know because this pte 20point no easy o.

The CDR is a demonstration of your engineering capabilities. From your description above you already have 3 projects to describe 1. Internship 2. Final yr prj. 3. Seminar project.
That will be fine if you can demonstrate it to EA's acceptable level on what you're trying to be assesed for.
Leave NYSC out it is starting in May, definitely you don't know what you will be doing yet. Don't complicate issues.
. thanks sir for your response. i appreciate.

Your chances of getting residency is very high after you graduate, I wouldn't say "automatic" but it will be very high. This is because you will still need to meet health and character requirements. Once you graduate with a good result, look for a job in hospital, medical center or rest home or contact your practicum site, if you were good during your placement, they will want to have you back.
Don't be picky at your early stage in your nursing career. Once you get a full time job, go on work permit for a year and apply for residency.

You will stay two years in residency then they will give you permanent residency and after 3 years on PR, you can apply for citizenship.
. thanks for your response. I'm really interested in New Zealand, I'm thinking of doing my PhD in nz since after PhD program one automatically get a one year post graduate work permit and i think one can apply for pr after that and it can be easy to obtain it. Although I studied electrical engineering and not nursing. I just thought nursing get automatic pass to pr unlike other profession like engineering and sciences. thanks

I am not really a guru but I can answer some of your questions.First,your assessment is by Engineer Australia(EA).Use google and check their site and requirements.If your degree is in Nigeria,then you need what is called Competency Demonstration Report(CDR) and other things to be assessed.Read the MSA booklet and guidelines.These have the procedure of writing the CDR and making application.You can check the cost and the likes there.Just play around with the site and thoroughly read the information therein.The CDR is not so difficult to write.Lastly,you need to have a minimum of 6 in each section of a valid IELTS result to apply.When you read,other things will be clearer.Cheers!
. thanks for your swift response.
