acadollar: When you come here with two year visa on your passport, they give you one year stay to come back and extend again after one year. Most people were lucky last year because they have them straight two years here but right now, they split it and give you one to come back again after one year.
Some masters program is 3 years so you have to come twice. . Does this policy affects one who is on scholarship?and if someone is on two years masters program, will the school extend it to three years because of the policy? |

mctowel01: Grant Finally. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9 : 11)
. I m a living witness to this. It was all a dream
. Nov 2015, I didn't really know where I was thinking what next with life, and what it will present, in the hostels in UNI. A friend told me about studying in Australia and the fact that they didn't have so complex admission process, as far as one had the funds, there were always spaces. Plans were down. Time went, then I started service, and thats how exchange rate started dramatizing... Till it reached an unthinkable level. Australia in turn changed student visa policies, just a week to July, making it soo tough at that point. Then I felt really bad and knew studying wasn't possible again.
. I started the PR processing, and thats how immigration started their wahala, almost two months to get a passport. Thanks to mamajaz at this point for her selfless service and support. She helped put.calls to lots of people in different states to help me process the passport. I will not forget it. Time went, I took ielts on the 5th of November, then prepared my CDR, which was submitted around that time. December 7th, I took PTE first time, scored all except speaking above 79. Speaking was 73. I booked again to take it on the 13th and scored all above 79, speaking 81. Moreover, i got my assessment for professional electronics engineer on the 13th of December. Got the result on the 17th and lodged eoi immediately with 60 points. At that period, electronics went on pro rata, so I waited till April 12th round to get invited. I ll also add that the last invited 60points for electronics submitted on Dec 19, so it came down to the wire. Lodged 13th April, submitted all relevant documents abd here I am, I ve gotten the Direct grant on the 31st May. Sometimes, we think we are at the lowest point in life, not knowing we are being prepared for grace untold
. Notable mentions to the veterans,...(some newbies might not know them) More like the forefathers in this thread... NNBB2012, scrollmeout, ericktack, bossylady Johnsontade, Malkinburg, and our ever, selfless, passionate and respected Bellong... God bless you sir. I owe you a complementary visit there. My brothers from another mother Bnimz and big bro Jamson, catchdwindfrmkd... Thanks for being part of the journey. Aussie, here I come congrats bro. i tap into your Grace. |

Haliru001: Instead of going for the Msc in nursing it's better u go for the Bachelor of nursing (graduate entry), which is 2 years. It's for people who already have a degree in another course. You can google the schools in Australia that offer the program. Western Sydney University, QUT and UQ are some of the schools that offer it. WSU isn't an AL1 school tho please can i have an idea of the tuition fees for the graduate entry into nursing. |

catchdwind4rmkd: Responded like ages ago. I don't understand this pm thing but let me just ask you here. do I need to prepare a competency demonstration report when applying for 476? my second question is if assuming one obtain the 476 visa by July, can I travel in three months time? the last thing is that transcript from unizik don't normally specify the exact date one graduate it's only the statement of results and certificate specify the exact month and date of graduation. I graduated July 31st 2015 ,can I specify in the declaration of graduation that I graduated October 2015 ,will they verify from my school after the school have sent them the transcript? please kindly let me because I have been trying to get information online about this 476 but i haven't. |

catchdwind4rmkd: In my opinion mate, you're eligible now , but won't be by October.
If I may ask, why do you wish to wait till October before applying? You can get the visa now, and travel when you're ready. It's cheaper and involves a less tedious process to get.
The 476 visa may not be as attractive as the 189, but it surely has its benefits. The most significant being application requirements and processing time and cost. Those who don't have the huge amount of processing 189 can take advantage of 476 to migrate down to Oz and work to save for their PR. It can also be used to have an idea or experience of Australia as a country and help you decide if it's a place for you.
I won't encourage you to delay securing this visa before July as many who did now regret that; unless of course you've gone far with processing 189.
Also, please try to always do some research yourself to corroborate information from others. It'd surely save you a lot, and doesn't take much. Refer to the link below for detailed info:
https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/476-
I'm currently in Oz on 476, and I recall posting detailed info on the visa when I first started following this thread. But I'm happy to provide more should you need further info. I sent you a pm |

Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by udi2111: 10:49pm On May 07, 2017 |
Royal54: I think the agent is right as you need to lodge the visa within 2 years of graduation in order to be eligible and going by your proposed visa application date ( october), you would've passed that limit.
Meanwhile, let's see what others would have to say. Cheers thanks for your response, i saw something like that on Google but i just want to ask to be more sure. |
