Morning beautiful mama's, pls what is the actual dosage of folic acid one needs to take when ttc? I sent DH last week to get one for me, and see d one he got(pix attached) have been taken it 1tab daily, is it too much?

@udoomama you would have checked all these cd12. But since you already did, you can still stick to cd12. That's the day most doctors usually give for tracking on clomid cycle when started cd2 or 3 and even natural cycle of 28days. Though since you started on cd3, you can still scan cd 13. I always prefer cd13 though as that's when I feel ovulation pain, but my doctor will always insist on cd12 reminding me i ovulation has occurred, he can't get all he needs and I'll have to repeat. So usually I go with him cd12. In essence, better do cd12 or cd13 morning. If need be, repeat after 2 or 3days pending on the outcome.

miraclebaby God bless u, will do just as you have said, will repeat the scan on CD12 which is tomorrow, then based on the result, will go for TVS on cd13. Fertility blessings

My pretty mamas, I decided to do a pelvic scan this morning( CD10) before going for the TVS on CD12, well see d result below.
Bladder: Adequately filled with normal outline. The bladder wall is normal in thickness, no stones, no mass.
Uterus: Normal in size and anteverted. Cavity is empty with normal endometrial thickness. No fibroid.
Ovaries: normal sizes on both sides with normal stromal tissue, no cyst.( no dominant maturing follicle seen today)
Adnexae/pod: both appear free, no fluid collection in the pod.
Conclusion: Normal pelvic organs.
Pls I dnt knw from dis result, should I still go for d tvs on cd12? Won't it be too early? Or is it dat the clomid did not work? Pls help a confused sister.

yes pelvic scan can tell u status of ur uterus, as for d CD if it is just to know d status of ur uterus, any cycle day will do.

When on clomid you are expected to ovulate 5-9 days after the last dose. So from CD12 is ok. Get preseed and bd every other day from CD7 so you don't miss out.

Preseed has been very scarce for me in Lagos, anyone in Uyo know where I can get one?

@mamakendra tanx a lot for the info, that's why am so confused, I actually don't know my cycle length cos of d irregularities , I can go for mnths without a cycle, but am suspecting I ov very late, before the irregular periods, I was always on 30-32 days, but rite now, I can't tell.

@udoomama if your doctor says you should trigger, then I'd suggest you go with him. As for your scan, you can take first one on cd12, with the result, they'll advice you when to check again. Have you used opk before now? Does it give you positive? Have you tried using it with scan? If you've used it and got a positive, then you can use again and confirm on scan to know the size, then do a second scan to confirm it popped. Morning all, pls I need ur opinion, I don't know if I ovulate or not cos of my irregular periods, that's y I was placed on clomid last month, (even though it didn't work out) I saw my period on the 1st of dis mnth thru 4th, if am to track my ovulation, should I do follicle tracking or use predict? And on what day if am doing both? Today is CD9. Pls help a sister. (sorry I forgot, my gyn placed me on another cycle of clomid, from day 3 to 7, and since my last clomid and hcg didn't work, I dnt want to take the hcg dis cycle again) this is also my 2nd time of taking clomid, I told Baba God that dis is my last tym of Taking it,If it works out or not,i'll quit cos I know clomid is not too good.

Well, many things could have caused this, ranging from problems in the uterus, ovaries and the structures in the head that control the reproductive system: pituitary gland and hypothalamus.

The fact that you menstruated with the aid of Primolut N (or oral contraceptives) proves that the problem is not from the womb (thereby ruling out Asherman Syndrome) and that your estrogen level is adequate.

It means your problem could then be either from the ovary (absence of ovulation), pituitary gland or hypothalamus.

Commonest ovarian problems that could cause this are Polycystic ovarian syndrome, or Premature Ovarian failure (less likely). A transvaginal scan will help to rule these out.

Commonest pituitary problem you could have is High prolactin hormone. Extremely excessive blood loss can also shut off the pituitary hormones. A blood test will rule these out.

Commonest hypothalamic cause could be excessive weight gain or weight loss, and physical or mental stress.

If your scans and hormonal assays are normal, then beam your search light on those hypothalamic causes.

Eliminate all sources of stress, including stress caused by your lack of menses (a negative chain reaction, if allowed to perpetuate). An irony in itself, but quite practicable.

some HPT are more sensitive than others.

the 'slim strip' ones are the least sensitive and could take sometime to detect hcg compared to the more pricy/fancy ones. i used a 'super drug brand' that gave me bfp about 6days before my cycle was to end , meanwhile the other tiny strip ones kept giving me bfn.

@Peculiar, it is well, don't stress yourself too much, it's still pretty early to worry, most Dr's say when it's after a year or 6 mnths(if u are above 35), then u need to see a dr for check ups,but since it's just 3mnths, just enjoy ur BD and try to do it during ur OV. And another important thing, since you are ttc, always inform d dr, or do a pregnancy test if AF is late before you take any drugs.

@all, the radiologist that did my TVS said I shud still come to see if it popped and I ovulated. My worry is; won't the gel and probbing affect something?

And I felt O'cramps yestday and B'ded that yestday, shud I still BD again or abstain frm BD till my 2ww is over.

Sorry say I dey ask plenty qstns oooo, I jst want to make sure I did my all and commit it into God's hands...cos na HIM get the final say.

@deyoola, 2years ago is evn still far sef... most gynaes request for a repeat of all tests after about 6months or less (for u and DH). It's for ur own gud dear. As for the HSG, look for somewher where they do a painless one.

my paddy , relax, from my little understanding, I dnt tink d gel or probbing will affect anyting,since u have done ur part by BD, everyting will be fine by his grace, about BD during 2WW, me I dnt know ooo, some say it dosent cause any harm, some say it does, me no know sha, but as for me, I BD for 4 days at a stretch so I don tire, I d rest , no BD for now.
