THEME: LIFE GIVES YOU BACK WHAT YOU GAVE TO IT TEXT: Galatians 6:7-9 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. MEMORY VERSE: In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Ecclesiastes 11:6. MESSAGE: Life does not cheat on any one but allows every individual to reap the reward of either his hard work or laziness/negligence. There is an English adage which says, the way you make your bed is how you lie on it. If your bed is made of wood you will lie on it while the person who uses mattress to prepare his, will lie on it the way he made it. When we were in school there were fellow students who instead of attending lectures and receiving the teaching they came for preferred going to clubs, attending parties and indulging in cultism at the expense of their learning programme. On the day of the final examinations they had nothing to write. As the examinations were conducted through strict supervision they had no chance of peeping from their neighbour’s answer scripts. In the end they failed. Many of them joined gang of armed robbers and in the course of encounter with the police were killed. For such people, they have reaped what they have sowed. In my area in South East, what is in vogue is business. For anybody to become a successful business man he must undergo apprenticeship under an established trader. The master will teach him the rudiments of the business and at the end give him some amount of money to start his own. Some boys will go into apprenticeship but instead of patiently serving their master to the end, they indulge in taking their master's money secretly. As soon as such ugly act is discovered, he is quickly sent packing without anything for his settlement. At this juncture he becomes helpless and will hardly see another person that will accept to take him again for apprenticeship. The person hardly finds his bearing in business line again. It is therefore good for everyone who wants success to toe line of hard work and honest living, he will succeed. PRAYER POINTS: * Pray that God will help you to work and earn your living and never to seek for short cut. * Pray that God will always bless your hand work. THEME: CHRISTIANS ENJOINED TO LIVE A TRANSFORMED LIFE TEXT: Romans 12:1-2 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. MEMORY VERSE: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15 MESSAGE: Any true child of God should understand that there is nothing in this world. And so you don’t put your hope or trust in the things of this world because 1John 2:17 says “And the world passeth away and the lust thereof... since the world is like a whirl wind, you cannot hold it, what you need to do is to allow Christ take total control of you. Let all your thoughts and actions be directed by Christ. 2 Corith 5:17 says “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away… anyone in Christ should not be controlled by the things of this world, rather according to our text above, let such a man present his body a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God. And let your being in Christ transform your life so that you will be acceptable unto Him. Our memory verse counsels us not to love the world nor the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. Many people especially women are still controlled by the things of this world. Fashion, money, cars, etc. you cannot serve God and mammon simultaneously, you need to choose one and I counsel you today to choose God so that it will be well with you. PRAYER POINTS: * Pray that the quest for the things of this life will not cause you to lose focus. * Pray that God, by His power will transform you to present your body a living sacrifice. THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: FRIDAY, 21 AUGUST 2015. THEME: BEING BORN AGAIN IS A MUST, NOT OPTIONAL. TEXT: John 3:3, 7 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. MEMORY VERSE: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9 MESSAGE: Being born again is the greatest thing that can happen to any man. Through that you are assured of heaven. In fact, that is the precondition for making heaven. 2Corinthians 5:17a “ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” being a new creature is what you need to make heaven. No natural man can make heaven. You need to be transformed from your old nature to a new nature, the nature of Christ before you can think of making heaven at all. The natural man is wicked and full of evil and so in that state, he cannot submit to God. It was the fall of man in the Garden of Eden that brought wickedness and atrocities upon man. Christ was manifested to atone for the sin and wickedness of man. Through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross of Calvary, salvation is made available for man. And so for man to make heaven, he must come through Jesus Christ, Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Except through the name – Jesus Christ. Therefore, I want you to know that for you to make heaven you must be born again. To be born-again, you need to repent, confess and forsake your sins, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour and the blood he shed on the cross will begin to advocate for you. And if you are born of God, you cannot commit sin because the seed of God remains in you. From today, prove to people anywhere you go that you are born of God by not committing sin. PRAYER POINTS: * If you are not born again or you are a backslider, pray to God to make you born-again or come back to faith. * Pray that you will always exhibit the nature of God by not committing sin. THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL... DATE: WEDNESDAY, 19TH AUGUST 2015. THEME: BEWARE OF PRIDE AND ARROGANCE TEXT: Proverbs 16:18 16 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. MEMORY VERSE: But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6 MESSAGE: Brethren, Tolo-Tolo (Turkey) spirit kills a man. What do I mean by that? I mean spirit of pride and arrogance kills and I counsel you, not only to run but flee from it. May I ask you, what is making you arrogant? Is it your certificate, money, beauty or handsomeness, position etc. Whatever you are today or whatever position you occupy, people have been that in time past. And wherever you find yourself is not by your power. Moreover, everything you have is a gift from above. If God does not give you, you will not have it. So why are you proud? Remember, it was pride that sent King Nebuchadnezzar into the bush where he ate the grass like animal for seven years (Daniel 4:32). The same pride made worms to eat up King Herod when he made oration and people shouted that his voice was like that of god. He did not rebuke them, immediately worms ate him alive. Please, I want you to understand that before you see a man in high position fall, check it very well, pride is lurking somewhere. Refer to our text, for today "pride goeth before destruction". Moreover, understand that according to our memory verse; God is the one that resists the proud. If a man or devil resists you, you can cry to God. Whom will you cry to since God is the one resisting you now because of pride? As you go through this devotional today, search yourself, if there is any atom of pride or arrogance in you, quickly, without wasting time repent and cry to God to show you mercy and lift you from that destruction. Wisdom of man is foolishness in the sight of the Almighty God. Because all these witches and wizards knows very fully well what they are into, unleashing their evil and wickedness upon their follow human being, they will never want you to believe that they exist so that you will still under their subjection and torment. It is only through the divine wisdom from Almighty God that you will be able to discern their modes of operation through the help of the Holy spirit and fight back against their evil antics. But such privilege can only come when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour, Fear God and Keep His Commandments, then the Holy Spirit will them guide you Spiritually and Physically on how to weight war against all these witches and wizards. THEME: RESTORING THE LOST GLORY TEXT: John 10:10 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. MEMORY VERSE: The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29 MESSAGE: The Bible says in Proverb 14:34, "Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people..” it was as a result of sin that man fell from glory God had given to him. Man was exposed to the torment and torture of the devil because he gave himself to sin. But God sent His son Jesus Christ as stated in our text above that He came to give man life. The devil did all he could to degenerate man but Christ has come to give life to man so that there will be restoration of the lost glory. Christ has come to remove the shame of sin on man. You must make your self available for the removal of shame of sin and the restoration of your glory that the devil has taken away. By making yourself available, you must be ready to reject the devil, his invitation to sin. when you say no to sin, the devil is put to shame and the spirit of God is allowed to come into your life. Today say no to every plan of the devil in your life. Do you still drink alcohol in secret, wear jewelries and weavon outside the church premises? If you shun these Christ will surely restore the lost glory in your life. PRAYER POINTS: * Pray that God help you to resist all temptation to sin. * Pray that your life will be actually Christ-like. THEME: CHRISTIANITY IS A JOURNEY OF FAITH TEXT: Hebrew 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. MEMORY VERSE: (For we walk by faith, not by sight  2 Corinthians 5:7MESSAGE: The driving force for Christianity and all Christian activities is faith. The same way the heroes of faith lived their lives should be the same we the Christian of the present dispensation should live our own life. They believed that God is with them and will help them in everything they were doing. Abraham had the courage to go and sacrifice his only son Isaac because he had faith that God would give him another. Joshua in a war front commanded the sun to stand still till Israelites conquer their enemies. He did that because he had faith God was with him. The same God of Abraham and Joshua is still our God of today. You only need to exercise faith in serving God and apply that faith in both your Christian and secular life. You can give a command and believe strongly that God has heard you and your command will come to pass. You execute your projects with God in mind you will not fail. God will always back your actions and your statements if you exercise faith. Exercise faith in your work today and you will see the power of God in action. Mark 9:23 MESSAGE: John Mason in his book, "Imitation is limitation" says, 'he who is afraid of doing too much always does little' To achieve all that is possible, we must attempt the impossible, your vision must be higher than you. " Again Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'impossible' is a word found only in the dictionary of fools." If you are determined to do something, the words failure and impossible should not come in. It is when one lacks courage that these negative words and thought come in to bear on his mind. When you are ready for a project, rule out failure and believe that with God all things are possible. When God commissioned Joshua to take over from Moses and lead Israelites to the promise land, He told him to be strong and courageous. God made this statement three times in one chapter of book of Joshua 1. God is equally telling you today to be strong and courageous. If you have these at the back of your mind, there will be no failure in your dictionary. Always be determined to achieve success at all times and you will succeed. This is an eye opener to many giving heed to seducing and familiar spirits claiming that Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to them or enter them to speak to the world. No wonder the Bible says that prince of Persia(devil) has transformed himself to angel of light to lead many to hell fire. One thing I will not indulge myself into is blind argument.. Religion and Christianity are two different entities. Religion deals with manmade tradition and laws that seek to suit the ears and beliefs of its followers while Christianity is based on God's a standards and principles which are found in the Undiluted Word of God in The Holy Bible.A Heavenly minded person must strive to attain these standards if the person wants to make Heaven at the end of this life. God does not need ur approval of His standards BUT only Trust and Total obedience! Don't be wise in ur own Eyes. Ask Yourself if you are being religious or Christ-like. |

@ the op,as a man on trousers, when you want to urinate in an open place, you freely do that at ease without people around seeing ur body, it is not the same case with a woman wearing trousers. If accidentally she is on a far journey and along the line the vehicle stops for people to urinate, I tell you that you will see everything cus she have to pull down the trouser to her hipline before having free assess to ease herself. What else is she hiding again. It wouldn't be like that if she is wearing a well covering long skirt bcus all she need to do is to quietly bend down and off she goes. ugwum007: Some days ago, I came across a job vacancy post in olx website. I called the phone number stipulated and I was given an address at gbagada industrial estate, lagos. On getting there,it was GNLD office, I kept my cool located the person that gave me the address and for 2hrs I was listening to the usual networking talks only that it was coming from almost a tout (from appearance). When I started asking questions about the whole thing including a olx vacancy post, flyers & posters that had job vacancy opportunities on them, the guy lost his cool and almost bounced on me. |
