Former President Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience Jonathan were spotted arriving at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, today.

Jonathan was cheered by supporters as he alighted from the aeroplane with his wife on Sunday, October 2.

They were received by the chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Amb. Sukubo Saraigbe Sukubo and other dignitaries.

A young lady identified as Bimpe took to her one of her social media accounts to reveal how her church pastor threatened members of the church who have refused to bring their ‘first seed’ of the year. She posted saying:

“I left MFM cos my Zonal pastor was threatening brimstone and fire against those who have refused to bring their first seed (your entire January earning (s)), please what will I eat the entire February? So, cos I wasn’t willing to give an overfed pastor m sweat, I don’t deserve blessings? I’m done with these churches, biko.”

The ex-president said he made this known when he saw how recklessly the Dr Goodluck Jonathan-led administration was spending the country’s money.

Obasanjo, an Ogun state high chief made these revelations on Saturday, October 1, while delivering a lecture to some youths at Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta.

He said:

“Whoever that has lived to witness the celebration of today should thank God.

“Things are not what they should be, but we should pray that next year will be better than this year.”


“We thank God for those who are alive, we prayed for the souls of those who have laboured for these country and who have passed on to rest in perfect peace.

“Unemployment is a major problem in the country today and if we don’t take care, it will consume all of us. In fact, the rising unemployment is a time bomb,” the ex-president offered.

While recalling how he got five job offers as soon as he left high school, the elder statesman of Nigerian politics adduced the youth restiveness in the country to unemployment and counseled the present administration to pay attention to agriculture, else the country may not develop.

He said: “That is why we have to take it as a key of our development else the many educated Nigerians who have no job are like time bomb, sooner than later, it will explode.”

News reaching us this Morning has it that popular Veteran Nollywood Actor, Elder Maya is dead. According to our source he died in the late hours of yesterday.

“The man has not been acting for a while now because of his condition and our people (Nollywood actors) have not shown interest in the old man. They are probably waiting for him to die before they started shedding crocodile tears they are well known for,” an actor said on Friday.

Reports gathered says that Elder Maya, who is arguably the longest surviving Nigerian actor, is down with a liver-related problem as the actor is down with a swollen leg, which we gathered causes pain to him too.


We gathered that a passionate call has been made to well-meaning Nigerians to contribute to saving Elder Maya. But the savings couldn't save him.

According to the NDLEA spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the cannabis was carefully prepared inside packs of noodles to avoid detection. The suspect identified as Benson Onyechi Esonwunne, was attempting to board an Ethiopian Airways flight from Nigeria to China when he convinced an innocent passenger to carry the box of packaged chicken flavored noodles for him on the plane.

"It is instructive that people be aware of this trick because what they consider as an assistance may just send them to prison or early graves. This is because drug trafficking is punishable by death in China." Mr Ofoyeju said.

The statement from NDLEA also said that Mr. Esonwunne had been deported from China two times prior for immigration offenses in 2008 and on May of this year. The suspect said that he began trafficking drugs because Nigeria’s economy was so poor, and its exchange rate so unfavorable, that he needed to turn to the illegal activity to get by.

The NDLEA said the man will face charges for his crime.

A Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja on Monday sentenced a 30-year-old man, Hassan Jamilu, to twelve weeks in prison for breaking into Shoprite’s cash room and attempting to break the safe.

The Prosecutor, Patrick Ebong, had told the court that one Harrison Jatau of Pavilion Security Limited, Shoprite mall, Apo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on April 25.

He said Jamilu criminally trespassed into the said mall through the backyard, climbed the fence to the roof top and broke into the ceiling.

He said the convict used a robe and dropped down into the cash room of the mall and attempted to break the safe.

Ebong said the security alarm blew and the convict narrowly escaped and was eventually caught and arrested by the police on Aug. 15.

He said that the convict was also captured by the CCTV installed within the rooms of the mall.
Ebong said that the offence contravened Sections 348, 355 and 95 of the Penal Code.

He also said the convict was arrested with pliers, scissors, two screw drivers, one flame mate burner and its gas, rain coat robe and an umbrella. Jamilu pleaded guilty and asked for leniency.

This 21-yr-old young lady named Chinenye 'Desire' Benjamin (pictured) is a victim of an indoor gas explosion. Although she survived the incident, she suffered some serious burns and needs the help of Nigerians to assist in getting proper medical treatment. An OAP named Blossom Emechebe shared what someone sent in to her. It reads;



"She woke up at about 6am to boil water to bathe for work, she turned on the gas and struck the matches, it didn't catch, then she did it again, it was then we heard the explosion. The fire threw her against the door, and then blocked her exit, according to her, she didn't know the force dat got her too her feet, and so she entered the fire and rushed out of the kitchen to the room, the fire chased her out, the rug where she was standing on got burnt."

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in United Kingdom storm Royal London Hospital Whitechapel, where President Muhammadu Buhari was allegedly expected on June 16, Thursday.

The pro-Biafra supporters, who were holding posters and flags, claimed that Buhari is receiving treatment in this hospital.

President Buhari was expected to return back to Nigeria on June 16, but however could not make it.

However, vice president Yemi Osinbajo has said that he spoke with the president over the telephone and that there was no need for Buhari to rush to Nigeria.

But he stated that the president is in perfect condition and just need more rest.

The president is expected back home on Sunday and will resume his duties on June 20, Monday. Nigerians worried over his health, comparing his vacations with late president Umaru Yar’Adua.

Five suspected kidnappers of two Reverend sisters in Ondo State have been arrested by police. The suspects reportedly involved in many of the kidnap cases that happened in the state.

Meanwhile, one of the kidnappers, Phillip Isiga, Said he received N50,000 as his share of the N2.5 million ransom.

The two sisters, Rev. Sr. Perpetual Apo and Rev. Sr. Roseline Familade and their driver, Mr. Zwugwa Zibai, were abducted on May 15, on Benin-Ijebu Ode Expressway. They were rounded up when their vehicle broke down and they were waiting for assistance from their associates, who reside at a nearby site at Kajola village in Odigbo area of the state.

Glossyclick source gathered that the sisters were released a week after abduction.

The kidnappers had demanded for a ransom of N20 million, the Catholic Church reportedly gave them N2.5 million to secure the release of the sisters.

Isiga, 25-year-old from Delta State, said he was introduced to the business by one Ufoma, who was also arrested.
