A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, has ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has no powers to disqualify the presidential candidate of the Action Congress, Atiku Abubakar, or any other candidate from contesting the elections. Delivering judgement on the suit filed by Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Justice Babs Kewunmi said the powers to disqualify any candidate is not vested in INEC, but in the court. |
