ijaw citizen: That would attract a lot of unwanted attention and if you really know Nairalanders and their antecedents of flaunting chronic ignorance esp. those from S.E who already edited wikipedia to paste Igbo doctrines in the page on Andoni (Obolo). Pls I believe you can teach us here since this post is equally about Ibeno people.

Best regards!

Nice. good for the people of ibadan. Ibadan has the population and high middle class residents to sustain many such chains.
I hope it becomes a huge success. because retail can bring in a lot of money to ordinary citizens in nigeria, as it does elsewhere in the world.
If shoprite succeeds in nigeria it will open the nigerian market to many international chains as they will be watching to see how shoprite thrives. And if it does,that will be a major game changer in the nigerian economy.

successcertain: Oil, bauxite, gold, diamonds, gas, uranium, agro products...,Are in nigeria but 80% are still starving

But some nigerian fools continue to die at sea trying to reach Europe where they get subjected to modern day disgust treatment and sex slavery.

Nigerian women get dragged by white men across oceans to play the roles of sex slaves, Nigerian are so hungry and the FG governments are sucking up to Rhodesians and white South Africans to move to the shithole call nigeria to work the land and feed the lazy hungry nigerian people, why can't these human prototypes who die at sea and those who are involved in scams, drug and prostitute...work the land and feed themselves and the general population?

The white south african and chines are in nigeria to steal and feed starving weakminded and lazy nigerian who cannot fight for democracy, feed themselves or smart enough to start something and make use of all the abundant recouses the land has been lying fallow for decades whilenigeria were all over the show carrying begging bowls begging for food and kissing anybody ass with dollars. If this is the price Nigerian have to pay for their involvenent in slave trade descendants of slaves can sit back and laugh out very loud.

The curse of ham can be seen in the laziness and weakminness of Nigeria and that is not about to change, not in this lifetime.

After decaded of decolonisation Nigerian still CANNOT feed themselves, rather talking bullfuck typing shit on public forum and playing victim to their neighbor instead of the curse fg government. Nigerian have no shame and are weakmindedness, stupid and spinelessness., this attributes tell you of cursed people who will NOT live to see development in their country. Bunh of crook nigerians. gian ot africa my foot.
Is this why you started the thread? to insult nigerians?where are u from?

Demdem: The probability that that bridge isnt safe for use is ridiculously high. we need a team of unbiase Engineers to take a look at it and confirm thats its safe If it was Akpabio that constructed it would have been better. NDDC most times dont do quality works. Thats a well known fact.
Okay good point. but i can assure you that Akwa Ibom has a good technical adviser on infrastructures such as these bridge and their job is to monitor and give inputs on these types of structures.

Most shoddy job execution are as a result of lack of technical oversight.

Demdem: Even the best of construction companies can still do a shoddy job if they are forced to do it.

Of cos not. NDDC is noted to sell their contracts and we have their agents here on Nairaland business section. One moniker that goes by the name pcwandi or so is notorious for this. Most NDDC projects are useless, highly sub-standard and disaster in the making. i wont be surprise if this bridge will go the way of the airforce bridge that collapse here in PH that was built by Odili.
Check below for few of NDDC contracts for sale right here on Nairaland, u can also pick up one ursef if u have the dole:

CyberG: You are salivating over a coastline that does not belong to your ancestors! Be fast because I just read that the South West are strategizing on how they will take all their prosperous lands and beautiful shorelines out of Nigeria! I love Nigeria for that country should be REALLY great but you people have held everyone back and I don't blame the SW for wanting to take their land away and send all of you folks away! angry angry
what are you talking about? Are you high? stop tripping.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Beautiful Shoreline in pictures by ujoinme(op): 12:38am On Jun 27, 2013
There are beautiful shorelines in nigeria! thats a fact,federal govt aint going to develope these shorelines so its left for coastal states to develope them for tourism and transportaion purposes.
These is a huge revenue potential for these coastal states.

I dont see why we cant have passenger ships moving from calabar all the way to lagos with stops in all the major cities/town along the way.
this will be less expensive than rail, or could complement rail and road transportation, and cut down of the cost of transportaion.

berem: errm,

1000m =1km

600m=0.6km

The bridge no reach 1km sef! smh
600m is really long considering that thats just the length of the bridge excluding the approach/access road.

Rossikk: Imagine building several resort hotels with golf course, swimming pools, tennis, water slides, restaurants etc along this beach?

Why would anyone need to go abroad for holidays?
yeah i do agree with you. I think the state government should dedicated a huge portion of their tourism investment in developing its shoreline.
it has a lot of potential. and if these areas are developed for tourism besides being a huge revenue generator, it will also check the menace of oil spills, those infrastructure will serve as an incentive for oil companies to observe higher standards of safety to avoid spills as the spills will no longer be hidden.
and more people will be privy to their occurrences.
