FYI, Bindow defected to APC alongside Saraki and some other Senators in 2014. Since then, he has been a staunch Buhari's support. During the 2015 APC Governorship primaries, Bindow defeated Atiku's candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Mijinyawa, to emerge the APC flagbearer for the Adamawa State Governorship Election.

APC had four Governors in the Southwest in 2015 compared to the six Governors they have now and they were able to clear all the Southwest States then save Ekiti State.
