Although is a book pirate website, zlibrary has provided opportunities for poor college students and programers to download premium books and audios for free. The website is now been taken down by Us government. Bye bye to ZLibrary. https://z-lib.org/ Bad News, Bookworms: Popular E-Book Pirating Site Z-Library Gets Taken Down The website now displays a page that reads "This domain has been seized by the United States Postal Inspection Service in accordance with a court https://www.thefridaytimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/amzai-4-2.png Early morning on Friday, the website, along with all the various servers and domains associated with it, got taken down. The website now displays a page that reads “This domain has been seized by the United States Postal Inspection Service in accordance with a court order.” Z-Library originally started out as BookFinder, a free shadow library that provided pirated e-books, articles and research papers for free. For this reason, it was very popular with students and instructors, and drew over a million unique users each month. Initially starting out as a completely free service, it changed its model over time, requiring users who had downloaded a certain number of books to subscribe for a fee of a few dollars each month in order to be able to enjoy unlimited downloads. The site offers over 11 million books and 84 million articles, and has seen a surge in popularity in recent months due to viral TikTok videos. But publishers all over the world have been very unhappy with the website for a long time, with a group in France even winning a site blocking order to prevent people from accessing the site. Recently, the Author’s Guild, which is an American organization for writers that provides advocacy on issues of free expression and copyright protection, highlighted their growing concern over the website. “The hashtag #zlibrary on popular social media platform TikTok has 4 million views, in reference to the countless videos posted by college and high school students and others across the world promoting it as the go-to place for free ebooks,” the Guild wrote, adding, “So far there have not been any significant enforcement actions against Z-Library of which we are aware.” https://www.thefridaytimes.com/2022/11/04/bad-news-bookworms-popular-e-book-pirating-site-z-library-gets-taken-down/ |
everybody has an opinion |
According to https://www.statista.com/statistics/1178109/number-of-pos-terminals-in-nigeria/, there about 1.1million POS in operation as of june 2022. Now 1100,000 multiplied by #200,000 will give 220,000,000,000. There may be other contributing factors but I think this is a major one. |
I Came Here For Inspiration But I'm Most Time Disappointed. Nairaland Why? Nigeria Why? Sometime, I visit the programing section to read about inspiration news about Nigerians performing great in the Tech World. Can we have an open source website for Nigerians to which every interested programmer can contribute to (on github), and where coding questions get answered and Inspiration news about Nigerian programmers can be shared?

Charisma01:I noticed the miscontrue too |
Munamoqel:Help us here with data if you have any. We will be glad you did. As of now, I still believe the amount is a suggested estimation, but if you have found any data online, please, share with us. Thanks. |
Munamoqel:1. I will not deny, there might be other factors responsible for hoarding of cash 2. I believe there will be much more than 200,000 POS operators in Nigeria because each of the 36 states (plus the FCT) has more than 5,405 POS Operators in the individual states. 200,000 ÷ 37(states) = 5405. 3. CBN cannot be trusted with their figures... although the real amount of the hoarded cash may be closer. |
Some simple stuffs as these doesn't need to be complicated |
brownemmanuel43:I'm happy a some of people just like you still understand simple stuffs as this. |
I will be glad if our mod consider this thread frontpage worthy. This will help to collect people's input about the topic. |

CBN: Here Is Why 80 percent of the nation’s currency notes outside bank vaults Preponderance of POS Business. Here is why: Each POS business operator, hold an average #200,000 in their purse daily to ensure they satisfy their customers who may want to withdraw money through their business. Let's do the calculation. Some street can have about 10 POS business operators. If each of the operator has #200k in their purse, that will make about two Million Naira. Just for one street. According to https://www.statista.com/statistics/1178109/number-of-pos-terminals-in-nigeria/ , there about 1.1million POS in operation as of june 2022. Lanretoye:It's a gradual process. Coins will start getting attractive when the high denominations are phased out. |
Never give it food anytime you're eating. Simple! Animals learn too. You cat will soon become used to that fact and stop. Don't ease up on the determination not to give it food while you're eating. |
joyandfaith:Thanks. It will also discourage loathing of cash thereby discourage corruption. |
Tolumiide:I hope the CBN will see to this and do something about it |

Nigeria shall be great again |
Osinbajo Jokes With Shettima Over Ice Cream: Here Is The Full Gist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OWEUfD9GWs During an interview around the time of APC primary election in June 2022, Shettima made comment on TV that nice people like Osinbajo cannot rule this country. That nice men are meant to sell Ice cream, popcorn and agbado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2E3Jprru0Q barely, within 24 hours after the statement Prof. Osinbajo went to patronize an Ice cream shop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDG-byq3xD4 And here we have Osinbajo said: “…Distinguished Kashim Shettima, who is also the majority shareholder and chairman of the Yemi Osinbajo ice cream company,” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OWEUfD9GWs According to Shettima, does that mean that decent, nice and intellectual individuals like Prof Osinbajo can't rule this nation? If Shettima is coming with this mindset that you need to be evil and wicked to be a leader in Nigeria, doesn't that call for reconsiderations? If Shettima refer to a know professor of Law as Ice cream seller, what is shettima's known profession apart from politics? |
It amazes me how people are bold to show their level ignorance on this platform. Calling people "idiots" for learning through reading books. I SMH. If you need any programing book for free, you can download from this website : https://z-lib.org/ |
Heroku, has recently changed its terms of free usage. If your application is on free hosting, I think you can now no longer be able to do some of these things for free. Please, check heroku's new term of usage. I may be wrong tho... but that os what I read yesterday. |
