I was trying to apply for my TIN on the https://tin.jtb.gov.ng/ tax website as a good Nigerian who wants to start paying tax locally but got discourage because I found that Online application link is for Non-individuals like Limited Liability Companies, Incorporated Trustees, Enterprises, Cooperative Society, MDAs, Trade Association etc.,

Is it a crime to want to pay tax in Nigeria? Is my time not more valuable than to visit the FIRS office because I want to start paying tax?

Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Tax Identification Number in person, the applicant has to visit any nearest office of the Federal Inland Revenue Services in his/her state of residence.

- The address and contact details of branch offices across the country can be found in the following link: address details
Visit the office and get an application form for obtaining Tax Identification Number from the relevant department.

- Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.

- Once completed filling the application form, make sure that you have attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.

- Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.

After submission, your application along with the attached documents will be forwarded for further verifications.

Once all the internal processes are over, the applicants will be notified with the further instructions regarding issuance of the TIN Certificate.

1. Treat yourself of malaria (check to know whether you have malaria)

2. Reduce the brightness of your pc and phone's screen light to the minimum, and permanently,

3. Use night app on your phone and also set your computer to automatically remove blue light at night.

This will surely help

GREAT NEWS! USA Visa Interviews Waived Off For F1 Visa, H1B Visa and Others

Some US-Bound Students May Get Interview Waiver
THIS STORY IS FROM SEPTEMBER 17, 2021

The US department of state has announced that consular officers ‘may’ choose to waive the visa interview requirement for F, M, and academic J visa applicants. International students pursuing a degree course are issued an F-1 visa, whereas those undertaking a vocational course of study are issued an M-1 visa. J visas are issued to those on an exchange programme, including not just students but also professors, research scholars, short-term scholars and specialists.

However, this waiver would apply only if such applicants were earlier issued any type of visa and who were not refused such a visa (unless the refusal was overcome or waived) and who have no apparent ineligibility or potential ineligibility. “Thus, if a student now seeking to fly to the US had travelled earlier or a tourist visa, it would be possible for the interview to be waived,” explained a US-based attorney. The waiver also applies to first-time F, M and academic J visa applicants who are citizens of a country that participates in the ‘Visa Waiver Programme’ (VWP). However, India is not covered under this programme.

Applicants from non-VWP countries whose prior visa was issued when they were less than 14 years of age, may need to submit biometric fingerprints, but can still be approved for an interview waiver, according to a press release from the DOS. The release acknowledged the role played by international students and stressed that “international students are now and always have been among the DOS’ highest priorities.”

Ultimately, how this rolls out will depend on the local consulate offices in India. “We encourage applicants to check the website of the relevant US embassy or consulate to confirm the level of services currently offered and to find guidelines for applying for a visa without an interview,” the DOS release said.

Consulate offices in India, so far, have been granting interviews and processing student visas. While the pandemic related travel ban exists, students have been automatically granted a national interest waiver and have been allowed to travel.

Recently, the US mission in India had announced that its embassy and consulates approved more student visa applicants in 2021 than ever before. “Through these efforts, more than 55,000 students and exchange visitors are boarding planes to study in the US, and more students are being approved every day. The US mission looks forward to another great student season as it facilitates study for spring semester students over the coming few months,” it had said.

I have a very close relative with similar condition, he is living normal today and everyday because of proper treatment. We did not visit any religion house because those religous people are always clueless.

Take the woman to a teaching hospital or psychiatry center close to you. Forget everything religion or spiritual about her condition, else, you will keep wasting money and time

Her condition may not be curable, but it can be maintain that no symptoms will manifest. And she will live a normal life.

Her condition is not anything spiritual... never listen to those spiritual recomendation

What's special in paying salaries in every 30 days?

Every 1st, 2nd or 25th of every month is still every 30 days. Nothing special.
I actually open this thread to commend the fact that he is going to pay two salaries for the month of december and that he paid the first one very early on 17th. Salary payment is not the only thing Seyi Makinde is doing.

Don't just complain all the time about governance. If you find any good thing that's worth commendation, say it out... that is where maturity is.

Actually no one identified as Yoruba until recently

There are commonalities in terms of origin stories and Ifa but there are distinctions as well based on various Neighbour Influences.

So there is no one Egungun tradition across all of what we now call "Yoruba land

Ekiti have Benin Influences, There are also riverine Yoruba with Ijaw influences that have River deities e.g

In Lagos you have Eyo which is quite distinct and I am not sure whether they are "Egungun"

Having said all that Egungun are often manifestations of ancestral spirits
They also are use to tell mystic stories or history or deliver judgment e.g enforcing banishment or other judicial functions
There are Familial Egungun and also Egungun societies you have to travel widely to see many variations
but common practices include, invocation, possession , specific dress and so on
Some masquerades are specific to cults in some places or animal totems

It is a big topic worthy of a thread of its own

It is also important that the practice is common across most of the South of Nigeria

e.g Mmawwu in the South East

I believe Islam may have wiped it out in the North
I do not know if it exists in Ilorin
This also looks good. There is a lot to learn about Yoruba

Yoruba religion is not Oduduwa.
It( f we can say there is an it ) existed thousands of years before Oduduwa came from wherever he came from
Oduduwa arrived in Ife and established a dynasty after displacing the existing monarch
Naturally his descendants created a new story but we should be able to read between the lines to reconstruct some notion of what happened
There is nothing like YORUBA RELIGION per se in the sense that Christianity or Islam is a religion with rules handed down from a supreme God.

The fundamental principle is that people can worship any deity they like. Many deities are simply people who once walked on this earth once upon a time( like Jesus) and who had attributes that were valued. In a similar vein deities can be killed if no longer useful
So someone like Fela, Awolowo, Ronaldo Maradona , Bobrisky could become deified by those who value one thing or another about them
There are hundreds of deities and some worship one or many more there is no compulsion
Santeria seeks to institutionalize along Christian lines or patterns whereas traditionally thing are less regimented
People in the same house might not worship the same deity

Another thing is Egun or Egungun which is another long subject
Your Oduduwa narative is interesting... Normally, Yoruba have been existing right before oduduwa...

Tell us some thing about the egungun, we are here to learn

Oyo State: Seyi Makinde Paid December Salary Today 17th

Workers, including pensioners are currently smilling to the bank because they've received their December payment today.

I'm not a government worker but this development is well commendable. Also, let me inform you that Oyo workers get paid on or before 25th of every month.

There is also the 13th month salary package for workers

Oyo Workers, Pensioners Jubilate as Makinde Pays December Salary on 17th

It is a cheerful mood in Oyo state as workers and retirees in the state have been paid their salaries and pensions today, 17th December, a week before Christmas.

The development is in line with what the governor did last year when he paid workers and pensioners December salaries on 16th.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, which confirmed the development, indicated that different categories of workers and pensioners were paid their December salaries on Friday, 17th.

The statement read: “Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, has again surpassed the expectations of workers, particularly civil and public service workers as well as retirees, by paying the December 2021 salaries on the 17th.

“This is in line with the tradition of paying salaries and pensions of civil servants and pensioners on or before 25th of every month, and earlier than the usual pay day during festive periods.”

A number of workers, who had received their ‘alerts,’ seen around the state secretariat, commended Governor Makinde for fulfilling his promise of paying workers at the appointed GSM date.

It would be recalled that Governor Makinde equally paid last year’s December salaries on 16th, while he also approved the payment of 13th month salary to all category of salary earners.

Since he assumed office on May 29, 2019, Governor Makinde has ensured that workers and pensioners in the state receive their pay on or before the 25th of every month, which has now become popularly known as the GSM Date.
