We owe our children to be stars.

We owe it to morals that we stand as a voice.

We shall no longer be the voiceless, easy to break group, we shall stand united to defend our profession.

We know that the society love us, but we want them to look up to us, not look down on us.

Teachers will buy cars,

Teachers will build houses,

Teachers will get married,

Teachers will be on Radio, TV, Billboards

Teachers will contest for political positions

Teachers will be appointed by the government

One day a Teacher shall be #President.

That journey starts today. #Believe #Support #Build.

Education / Private Teachers Should Never Be Poor by unclebuddy(m): 5:35am On Jul 04, 2022
Giving education back to the Educators.

Teachers, especially private teachers give one of the best contributions to the society. They are the hope of the society to revive and sustain morals. Yet for strange reasons, they have remained poor, timid and voiceless.

This has had a negative impact on the society as many people who come into private teaching, do so as a temporary job until they get their dream jobs. Hence education in the basic level has been left in the hands of Private schools (not all Private Schools are bad) who are interested in cheap labour and Private Teachers ( not all private teachers are unqualified) who are unqualified, emotionless and unwilling to sustain education.

This has led our children who are expected to look up to teachers, to see no aura of dignity and passion in these teachers. Hence these children have turned to immoral icons as models. Hence the huge trace of immorality amongst our children.

However education remains the hope for Parents, children and the society that are in search of a strong moral pillar to hold the society. This is why we have launched the National Association for Private Teachers to demand that only professionals teachers are employed and that Private Schools are mandated to pay teachers well and provide teachers a platform to grow in education.

This may not be easy, as so many Private Schools are in education only to make profit, as COVID 19 showed (Just 6 months of academics interruption, and many schools quickly stopped paying salaries of teachers, giving pretentious excuses instead).

No well meaning Nigerian is happy with the way Private Teachers are treated by Schools and the society, yet instead of finding a solution to the pillar of education, we just make this serious conversation pass us by.

The time is now to save education, the time is now to save our children and the time is now to help private teachers grow. This is a fight that can be won through collaboration between good schools, Parents and the government.

It is time to give education back to the Educators.

Please share this so that the society knows that teachers are not being treated well.

Also, you can join our group and support our movement as we try to fix education.

AmeLonRo:
Thanks for your post. I am a working (not in private school). I am a Youtuber and felt moved with that video of the man weeping. This is a way to help ourselves. To help teachers. Why do you think will enrich myself with it. Check my Youtube videos and you will see that I have spoken a lot about entrepreneurship. I personally was not paid for 3 months before all was settled. Some people borrowed me money. Some people gave me money. As a Youtube influencer, I have the authority to say some things. I have over 150 Youtube videos on various subjects. What I said in my Youtube and here is that I have personally helped some people but I can not do it alone.
Others should help teachers around them too. It brings blessings. But those who want to support me are free to support my passion to help. How do motherless babies home thrive? How do charities thrive? People give to them and they give out. Companies give out part of their profits to gain goodwill and blessings.

This is social media and you are entitled to your opinion.
I am appointing you as one of the people that will audit that account with others. I think I deserve some commendation for calling out and not this banter. my next video will address this issue. I think auditing my account is better than just saying. I again appoint you as one of the auditors. Since this is just starting, we can audit in months or so. Bye for now and be blessed. Teachers have sent in their account numbers but have any donor donated? Think about things well sir.

Those who have sent their accounts should be patient.

Your proof of being legit is being a YouTuber? Are you joking??

Charity homes, motherless babies home thrive by belonging to an association and having a registered company for that purpose.

If this is your passion then do it the right way.

If you wanted me to be a part of your audit team you would have reached out privately rather than posting it on the thread (that's just unnecessary)

I am happy to audit the account to be sure that the money truly goes to private teacher and not for your personal gain. (My contact is in my signature, if you care to reach out privately)

But my question is what data of private teachers do you have?

It would be unfair if you share the revenue based on personal assumptions.

If we can trust you I will personally, give a positive review so that the whole world knows that you are one of the few Nigerians who mean well for this country.

But next time include a proper structure to your fundraising strategy.

Teachers in Private primary and secondary schools in developing countries have been going through a lot since March/April this year.

The reason is because their schools are closed and they have no pupils to teach.

Since pupils are at home they do not pay school fees.

Since the students don't pay school fees the school owners find it hard to pay their teachers salary.

Some proprietors/proprietresses even need help too.

Most small school owners feed from the fees paid by students.

Times are really hard for them.

I have personally helped some teachers that I know.

Do you know what? I want to help more people. I want to help more teachers.

But, I cant do it all alone. I need you to help me to help them.

Send any amount to my GTBank account 0115244462. Olugbenga Adetitun.

I will disburse to suffering teachers and give a feedback on the Olugbenga Adetitun YouTube Channel

I am a man of integrity, I can be trusted with funds.

Let's put a smile on some teachers faces together.

I love you.

I like you.

Guys as much as we as private teachers are suffering, let's us not give room for Nigerians to turn this into a personal money making agenda.

Why would someone send his personal account on behalf of private school teachers?

What data does he have about teachers?

@AYhomes was willing to help from his own pocket, and God will surely bless him (although I wasn't part of the lucky teachers) the same can be done by kind hearted Nigerian.

But for someone to say you should send money to his private account to disburse, I think he should be reported to the authorities.

Such post should also be banned

We should stop giving the country a bad name, just because we are desperate to become rich. I am a proud private school teacher and I know how hard things have been. But it is wrong for anyone to ask you to send money to his private account to aid teachers.

We are the change we need. No one will help us change except ourselves.

In case you plan reaching me my contact is in my signature. I need help too but not ready to spoil the name of our country to achieve it.

Literature / Nairaland Writers Deserve And Demand Some Respect by unclebuddy(m): 7:16am On Jun 30, 2020
It is always a great pleasure, to see the profession of writing growing by the minute especially in Nigeria where for a while the habit of literature and building good writers was taking a deep decline.

Nigeria is lucky to have some of the greatest and most creative writers globally. However, the way writers are treated is still pretty unfair, unprofessional and unethical.

I hope I have the backing of my fellow writers on Nairaland when I say that there should be a better way of relating with writers on the following:

1. Feedback:

A lot folks come on the forum to advertise for writers and then some amazing writers begin to pitch for the available role. Then the client goes completely silent. Even if you are not interested in choosing these writers a warm feedback helps them understand.

2. Reach channel:

You see clients coming on Nairaland to advertise for writers but all they do is ask for you to reply the chat. They ignore putting an email or a number for interested writers to reach them.

3. Arrogance:

Now this is very unfair. The way clients talk to writers can be very uncalled for. Please client the profession is noble, let us treat it as such.

4. Unclear brief:

A client sends you a topic to write on, with no clarity of the approach to use, the audience they are speaking to, the font and expected level of uniqueness. Then when you submit it, they tell this is not what I expected and it is not 100% unique. Please be clear with your brief. We know most of you get the jobs from foreign clients but even foreigners likes setting clear objectives. If they dont, please ask them for clarity. This saves a lot of time.

5. Unclear and Unreasonable Timelines:

I once got a brief from a client who asked me to write 11 topics with each topic being 30,000 words and expected me to submit them in 20 days. I knew it was a bit stressful but I hate to disappoint my clients. So I accepted the brief. But I also gave clear conditions to deliver the job on time. Then he became incommunicado.

I am sure there are more issues that writers see as unethical and unprofessional, please fellow writers drop your opinions below, so clients understand how to respect our noble hustle better.

I remain your best selling writer- Uncle Buddy (WhatsApp: +2347069305603). I am at your service if you have a writing job for me. #Merci

Hi Dvea,

It was a pleasure working with you. You are truly an amazing boss. You just need to put into consideration the time lines and stiff work ethics asking a person to work from Monday to Saturday from 9am - 6pm. Means you pay them N30,000 monthly and close their chances of working for other clients to make more and make ends meet.

Nigeria is a very difficult place now, we all owe it to ourselves to find hope for the younger people. I have worked with you and respect your high level of professionalism. But let's not make the writing industry difficult for writers as many of us find hope and passion in doing this job.

We should be the change we want in this country, we mustn't make Nigerians struggle everytime to survive. If not there will be more depressions from our young people. If God has blessed you as a boss. Bless others by giving them a worklife that they find convenient to grow in and build a home with.

Best Wishes.

As an Nairaland who enjoys great content, I enjoyed the article from @Natural441 and the great feedback from most smart thinking Nairalanders.

As a man, a husband and a Nairalander, I would like to share my view. But before I do, let me say these:

1. One love knows no gender

2. If you are not married you may not have a very clear opinion. Listen to the OGs and take notes.

3. One great Nairalander stated this "no man goes into marriage with the intention of going out"

Love and marriage for most people starts with great excitements, it's like a love story of TWO PEOPLE willing to stay together forever.

But just as a book and its cover are not twins, wedding and marital life are just #cousins and not twins.

There are many reasons why love fades slowly and this has little to do with being the HUSBAND or being the WIFE.

I will share 4 reasons why the Maggi of marriage fades faster than a 33 seconds cum.

Economic Influence

Most marriages come with big decisions, like moving into a bigger house to accommodate your kids and spending more on other things....baby food, school fees, more mouths to feed... Most times this doesn't translate to an increase in your salary for couples that work or more business for those that trade. But it means either spending more time on your hustle to make ends meet or spending more time on family (which translates to less time on your hustle). This starts to affect marriage when there are bills to pay and you have to give extra to make that money. But honestly, it translates to less time for your woman/man. This slowly begins to grow into little problems that would cause complains, then the complaints would grow into little fights and wrongs words being used and wrong perceptions begin to crawl into your marriage. It takes tolerant couples to find their love in all these. But with all the stress Nigeria puts you through, you need God to keep both of you in love for each other.

2. The heart is not an elastic band, give it time to adjust to the new situation:

What I mean is when children start coming in, the heart that was used to loving only you now has to love you and the children with the same gigabytes (GB). I have seen couples jealous of one partner loving the kids more than he/she loves him/her. Come on dear, if you keep complaining you only give your partner an excuse to avoid you. Give your marriage time to upgrade, soon you guys will adjust to a new way of loving and connecting

3. We listen to too much motivational bullshits:

Every marriage is unique, even the so called motivational speakers divorce more than normal people. Listen to yourselves. You are the motivation you need. Share love, fights, wealth, poverty...etc together.

4. Old doesn't mean ugly:

If you think I am lying ask Mr. Wine, he gets better as he gets older. Yes we get older with time, but I don't think we get ugly with time. Stay real and commited to the game of love. When it's time to make love get a Maxwell soundtrack and a red wine to set the tone. Yes there are times when he cums in 33seconds but don't feel irritated, yes there are times when she won't shake that #talefeather but don't make her feel like you want someone else.

Mistakes happen in our marriages but we are OGs, and we can get through love together. As long as we keep reminding ourselves of what made us trueplayers of the game called love.

Thanks Natural 441 for this amazing topic.

sinkhole:
ASUU embarked on the strike just before the escalation of the pandemic!
Your solution is trial and transparency, right?
Unfortunately, government is not ready for transparency and ASUU does not want trial and error that will permamently put them on IPPIS!
In Ghana, if some of the news we have been hearing is true, it was reported that the academics there initially agreed to enroll but after enrollment they discovered it will not help and now the academics in Ghana are no longer on IPPS! That is a country where government is transparent.
If pandemic is over and normal life resumes, do you think ASUU will be the only one on strike in our Universities? Others who have been enrolled are already crying every month, since enrollment!

Thanks for your contribution, pretty insightful. God help this great country.
