A girl cuts her friend with a razor blade after she learnt her friend (neighbor) whom she introduced to her sugar daddy went behind her back to have sex with her sugar daddy. This incident was reported to have occurred at Inikpi street, High level ,Makurdi , Benue State. Later on, it was discovered that the fight erupted not because the girl snatched her friend's sugar daddy but because the victim insulted the other girl's mother calling her a prostitute. This led to this fiasco and avoidable assault on both feuding parties. Once again, passerby and witnesses took laws into their own hands by stripping the other girl naked and beating her silly without proper investigation - jungle justice. It's very sad how a human being slashes her friend's face with a razor blade just because of a minor misunderstanding! The State Security Service has arrested a father of 10, Saturday Dewakei, who allegedly kidnapped Abubakar Adamu, the five-year-old son of his neighbour and killed him when his demand for a N5m ransom was not met. Dewakei, 43, was said to have entered his neighbour’s room at Aso ‘C’ Gbagalape, Mararaba area of Abuja through the ceiling on April 19, 2013 and abducted Adamu while he was asleep. The SSS tendered the remains of the victim on Wednesday, which were mainly bones, including his ribs, femur, dental cavity and a locally-made pistol that was recovered from the suspect.

Parading the suspect in Abuja on Wednesday, the SSS Deputy Director, Operations, FCT Command, Ibrahim Halilu, explained that Dewakei killed the boy in an uncompleted building and dumped his body in a water-filled soakaway when the ransom he demanded was not paid. He stated that the victim’s father, identified as Isah, paid Dewakei N100,000, adding that the suspect murdered Adamu because he was dissatisfied with the amount. Halilu stated that Dewakei was apprehended by operatives when he accepted the offer of additional N300,000 after he had killed his victim. “Investigation revealed that Dewakei killed the child and dumped the body in a soakaway when the ransom was not paid.

He has taken operatives of this service to the scene of crime where the remains of the kidnapped boy were recovered,”Halilu said. Dewakei, who appealed to Isah for forgiveness, said he kidnapped the boy. He said, “I did not kill him. The victim was running away and he fell into the soak-away. “I brought him out, but he had died because his hands were tied. The boy died in my arms; the parents should please forgive me. I only kidnapped him to make small money.”

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar since assumption of office, has been working tirelessly to reposition the Nigerian Police and to restore public confidence in the Force. He has advocated a N50, 000 minimum wage for a constable in the Force force, saying such will go a long way to boost morale and promote efficiency. The IG said he had already made proposal to the Federal Government and making a “serious representation” for the actualisation of the new salary structure for the police. He said apart from salary, other welfare packages like housing, training, mortgage policy and efficient cooperative society are being restructured to ensure that every policeman benefits from the scheme. 'We have started with the 500 housing unit in Abuja.'

He warned his men to henceforth stop any form of harassment of journalists and other innocent Nigerians, saying if reports were made, appropriate action will be taken against erring officer.He said 16,000 policemen out of the 50,000 will go for Intelligence Training, while 10,000 will go for Detective Training. He added that the newly promoted Assistant Inspector Generals of Police underwent a two week management course in Lagos.

He ordered for 300 patrol vehicles to be deployed in all the major roads in the country for effective policing and safety of the people on highways. He said all hands must be on deck to ensure the safety of our dear nation. Kudos to the Nigerian police.

According to Vanguard, the Oyo State Police Command has arrested a man (names withheld) for allegedly raping a girl in Oluyole area of Ibadan. He was said to have been caught raping the girl in a bush. The suspect allegedly lured the girl into the bush before forcefully having canal knowledge of her, while the victim was said to be shouting for help.The cry reportedly drew the attention of her father, who rushed to the scene and caught the man in the act. Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story. She said: “The father of the victim, who reported the crime, said he heard his daughter screaming in a nearby bush and that when he rushed there, he saw the suspect on top of his daughter, having canal knowledge of the victim by force. “The father said he saw the suspect holding the girl by the neck.”
After rescuing the victim, the suspect was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID. She said the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Indabawa, had directed that the case be immediately charged to court like other rape cases.

An Osogbo Grade III Customary Court on Tuesday dissolved a 17-year-old marriage of one Asimiyu Oladosu over frequent beating by the wife. Oladosu told the court that his wife, Kehinde, was fond of beating him whenever he returns from church or outings. He said the marriage was blessed with three children but he could no longer bear his wife’s attitude.
“I am tired of this marriage due to frequent beating by my wife as well as her nagging nature. She does not go to church and whenever I go to church or vigil, she will not allow me into the house and if she does, she beats me mercilessly. Based on these facts, I want the court to dissolve this union,” he said. The wife, admitted that she usually beat her husband, adding that she did that under the influence of what she called an “unknown spirit.” Kehinde, who cried profusely, prayed the court to settle the matter amicably, adding that she still loves her husband. “What my husband said was true. I always beat him but I do not know what usually comes over me whenever I do that. I still love my husband and I want the matter to be settled amicably. I don’t want to leave him and I promise that I will never beat him again,” the wife said. The President of the court, Mrs Temilade Agboola, pleaded on behalf of the woman and asked the man to forgive her. But Oladosu refused and maintained that he preferred divorce. Agboola said that since the husband wanted a divorce, there was nothing the court could do but to grant the request. She dissolved the marriage and ordered that the wife should take custody of the three children. Agboola also ordered Oladosu to give a monthly up-keep of N9, 000 for the children.

A Toronto woman who simulated pregnancy to try to smuggle 2 kilograms of cocaine was arrested today at Bogota airport by Colombian police. Col. Esteban Arias says 28-year-old Tabitha Leah Ritchie was stopped while trying to board an Air Canada flight in Bogota after an inspector noted that her belly was unusually cold and hard. He says police discovered a false belly made of latex taped to her body and they found 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of cocaine. Police say Ritchie arrived in Colombia on Aug. 6 and he identified her as a social worker. The Canadian Embassy did not respond to requests for details. He claims to have lived through Italy's invasion of Ethiopia in 1895. Retired farmer Dhaqabo Ebba, from Ethiopia, says he is a staggering 160 years old, which would make him the world's oldest living man. He claims to have clear memories of Italy's invasion of his country in the 19th century - however, there is no birth certificate to prove his age.

This would make him 46 years older than the oldest ever recorded man.
