Jamb repeat questions very well , so you expect them to set brand new questions every year, they just change the pattern of the questions
Okay, I have heard. I don't want to argue.

UniAbuja is competitive.
Medicine is competitive in almost all the government owned Universities. What I'm trying to say is, it's not as competitive as most of the federal Universities. For example Uniben as at 2018 or so had about 12,000+ applicants for medicine only, Unilorin 10,000+ and so on. I'm sure Uniabuja doesn't even have up to 7,000 applicants for MBBS. That's the competition I'm talking about. Competitive has grade.

Far less competitive than states universities? Maybe you are not in the medical college, talkless of being in unical.
When I say state universities, I don't mean all the state universities in Nigeria. I never in any of my posts mention I was in Unical or in the medical college but I'm talking from the little I know. Will you compare Unical with Uniben, OAU, UI, Unilorin and the likes in terms of competition??. Definitely NO. They are to an extent, less competitive. That's my point.

Please guys I don't have a lot of time my scores on practice cbt tests are 260-280 I have not gone any higher. please what's the best strategy to score 300 and above at this time . Should I practice more of past questions and do a lot of revision at this time or should I just keep reading . please what are your suggestions?
READ bro. READ. Leave past questions for now. When exam is close you can go back to past questions, we all know Jamb don't repeat questions and I guess u already know the pattern of jamb questions. What I'll advise is that u read for now and solve problems in past questions later on. I guess you have not finished up all ur textbooks. Have u??.... If no, then READ.

Getting admission into unical is competitive for courses in the medical field esp Medicine and Nursing
Compare it to other federal varsities and see the difference. Unical is far less competitive compared to other Universities. Even state universities sef.

how transparent is their admission process and if they admit non indigenes but I heard they don't release cutoff.
About transparency, I can't really tell but I'm 95% sure you'll be given "IF" you merit it. They do the release cut off and your greatest chance of getting medicine there as a non indigene is meeting the merit cut off, meaning having a high aggregate.

See no school 's easy to enter ooo even the Absu and the rest is not easy except you have connections but quite easier than the top ones
These ones are quite easier to get in compared to other big schools. A "not too high"(I mean 260,270)jamb score and good post utme score will give u an edge.

Are u a medical student or a practising doctor because I need advice. Here in lagos UNILAG is fire ooo their highest number of students are from diploma and I need a school that is sincere
No

Aspirant like you. Delsu is sincere and transparent in their admission process. The only problem is the post utme. If you feel you can ace it. You're good to go

Zeeknow3245:
Na wa ooo but hopefully I might stand a chance with a Utme and post Utme since I am an indigene
Sure. Once u meet the cut off in Delsu be rest assured that your ad.mission is certain, but I must warn, your high jamb score doesn't guarantee you anything. It only increases your chances a bit. A friend got 314 in jamb last year and couldn't get it because if their useless post utme pattern, I'm not trying to scare you tho but choose wisely. getting into Delsu is more of luck, money and connection than being intelligent. Every man with his grace sha, all the best buddy.

Can anybody help me with Information on Delsu. I am intending on studying MBBS and I am kinda skeptical that they are not up to date in medicine.
Pls reply ooo
In terms of medicine, Delsu has one of the best medical school in Nigeria. They are very up to date, however their screening is what is the problem. It's very very difficult to pass

EducationI'm Depressed. I Need Advise by Undilutedme(op): 2:52pm On Nov 22, 2019
Hello people.
I seriously need advise from you guys here.
I'm a student in one of the federal universities down south studying. Currently in 100l, going to 200l.
I initially applied for medicine but I was transferred to the course(Bio) cos I couldn't meet the cut off mark(with just 3 marks).
The thing is medicine is the course I really want to study... I just feel so sad. I've tried 4 times with all unsuccessful. M6 dilemma now is, my mom and brother are saying I should just study what I'm doing now and should forget about trying medicine again but my heart really wants to try. My whole soul, spirit and body craves so much for medicine. It's not really about money. I just have serious passion for it.
I know if I try and get the admission, my mom will sponsor it so I'm planning on using my money to re write jamb and post utme without letting anyone in my house know until I get I get the admission. Do u guys think it's a good idea or I should just follow what I've been told by mom and brother. I need advise, I don't want to make the wrong guy decisions.

ps : I don't find any joy in my current course. I'm just sad, I cannot associate with my course mates, I'm just striving to do well and I'm scared if I continue like this, I may end up not doing well. Please advise me. And again I don't want to graduate and come back(direct entry) because I may not want to come back. If I don't fight it now, I may not be able to fight it in future. Please advise me.

Going into MBBS now at 22 in ESUT.

Believe me I can relate with your situation.

Was not delayed by jamb though but by other situations, going in via my first tilt at Medicine.

Leaving Microbiology behind.

You can contact me via mail address in my profile if you feel the need to do so.

Success.
Thanks bro
I just sent a pm. please reply

Still wanting MBBS at 22 is not a bad idea. I've seen people get MBBS at older age. I believe you still have time to chase MBBS if that's your dream.
Utme 2020 will be your sixth attempt? I'm forced to think there are lots of things you ain't doing right. Doing well in jamb doesn't automatically means you'll be offered MBBS on a platter of gold. Change your orientation, do your homework perfectly on institutions, work on where your score will give you an edge over others, most times leave your comfort zones.
Now that you're about to enter Yr2 as BCH major, you may have to leave BCH if MBBS clicks or defer your MBBS till after graduation. All in all adequate preparation, information, good score and God factor matters.

Don't worry, it will end in praise.
Thanks a lot bro
God bless you.
Thanks for the mention too. It was so informative. I pray it ends in praise.

EducationRe: The medical students and aspirants thread by Undilutedme: 7:51am On Nov 03, 2019
Hey and ladies and gentlemen. I'm a strong follower of this thread. I've been following this thread since 2016.
I wrote my first jamb 2015 and applied for medicine and surgery. Nothing came out. Since then, I've been writing jamb up to this year. Well, I was given biochemistry in a federal University last year (2018/2019) session. I also took jamb this year though but still didn't pay off. I'm currently doing biochemistry and about to enter year 2. I have a very strong passion for medicine, very very strong passion but I was kind of giving up already until I recently went to a teaching hospital and God, the passion was reawaken when I saw doctors there. I'm considering taking jamb next year, it will be my 6th jamb. I need advise from well meaning doctors and student doctors here. Do you think it's a good idea??.... If yes, what more effort should I add to get it this time around, which University will you advise me to apply this time that I can get it easily. I'm intelligent, I do very well in all my jamb exams. I'll say luck has not been on my side all the while now. Medicine is the only course that I'm going to find so much joy doing. I'm going to be 22 next year.

Please, I need advise, possibly from everyone here. God bless you all.
