They should preach more about that "if you can't take care " more to avoid situations like this. A poor man who can barely feed has no need marrying more than one wife.

The issue here is not marrying more than one wife, the real issue here is marrying women when you know you can't afford to take care of them and their children. Imagine telling the wives to go to their family houses and eat.
