Politics / Re: Onitsha Had Fallen, IPOB Thanks For Putting Up A Good Fight, History Repeated by Unseen(m): 11:02am On Nov 10, 2021
AlexBells:
We are all Biafrans, but history is repeating itself upside down what happened with IPOB is second Biafran war, most times becuase I have many friends whom I used to jokingly call Biafran heads, I tell them we need a change of strategy and ask ourselves really in solitude, is Biafra the fastest way out of these whole Choas and are we the one in most need of Nigeria's breakup.

The War Started with IPOB having majority of the Biafran territories, first was PH, after sometimes PH fell to federal troops, second was Imo and after sometimes Imo fell to national troops, Enugu had never been a heated battle ground becuase Biafran strategy was not really about dividing Nigeria otherwise the biggest offensive could have been stationed in Enugu, Nsukka to be more precise.

The battle for Onitsha had always been the fiercest, I read about the 8 months battle at one time Biafran fighters blew up the Niger Bridge, facts remains that some Biafrans like us would always respect the promise of our parents, "Never take up arms against the Federal troops" the words federal is in bold but they did not promise to not take up arms at all.

What you seen in the past few days is the repeat of the battle for Onitsha and not only have Onitsha fallen to federal troops it could as well fall to the broom party.

But all is well ladies and gentlemen all is well, we are waiting for Araba to try to secede and we are waiting for Oduduwa to try to secede, that's when you will see that the devil among us are taking some naps,

My heart goes out to aggrieved Biafrans it doesn't feel good to be bullied, not listened to even when you are the one chocking and it do feel like no one is watching, apparently God is watching and don't give up he who laughs last laughs best.

Good Morning oooooo

I was in secondary school in 1997 and i did history ....i didnt even have a choice in my school it was compulsory for all art students while i have friends in other school that never did history....in some schools you have a choice of chosing either government or history.
Now let me tell you what really happened....in recent years some people for political reasons started peddling the lies that history was removed from secondary school curriculum so the new generation will not know history especially the civil war history.....history was never removed, students obviously preferred government to history coupled with low manpower....many schools simply stopped offering it.
i was only replying to the insinuation that it was an Apc thing

My 6 can be your 9 while your 9 can be my 6.
Like you said you have friends that never did history.

Let me tell you now that it wasn't in the curriculum for us to choose.
It was Social Studies and later Government.

That doesn't make anybody's education poor as one toddler insinuated

what will happen in the case of divorce if the man did not pay bride price? Or if the parents of the girl accepted only drinks and other stuff to assist the man, so in this case what should be returned?
Am here to learn

Stop contradicting yourself. Divorce..... No bride price.... Can there be divorce without marriage?

In the case the parents of the girl want to help the guy, they will take a token from him even if it's N50.

"Remarry" as you ascribed to the man without severing the first marriage is not correct (especially if he had a court marriage). However, the Igbo tradition just as in some other tribes permits a man well to do to marry more than one wife (though with the full consent of the first wife). Therefore, in the case of Mazi Kalu Ikeagwu he cannot "remarry" until the embattled marriage is formally severed inline with customary law of the land.

This topic is crucial for the younger generation who know little or nothing about culture/tradition. There are things that cannot just be wished away. If you do not know endeavour to ask questions.

We're talking traditional marriage here. No court stops a man from performing Traditional marriage.
The topic of argument here is Bride price. You don't pay bride price in the court.

You talk about customary law of the land and forgot that the customary law of Igboland in terms of marriage is Polygamy.

Listen. If you marry in court without paying bride price.... You're not married in Igboland

Are you even Igbo sef?

That's why Davido refused to marry Chioma, He saw the handwriting on the wall earlier. They will now use it as a trap that you won't have access to the child if you collect back the bride price you paid.

Wrong

As long as you married the woman before the birth of the baby, he's forever yours. Even if the marriage crashed and the bride price returned. The baby is forever yours

That's why they kill themselves over inheritance, most of them are not the legitimate ones to inherit, and they are always greedy.
Just imagine the son your woman brought from outside to be older than your legitimate daughters or you eventually don't have a son.
You die, he inherits you, the mother marries another man, he inherits mother and son plus your properties while your legitimate daughters eat leftovers or nothing.

It's obvious you no understand the post you quoted?

the return of the bride price have a symbolic meaning in Igbo culture rather than the value of the money, (it a chump change), unless that bride price is returned, they're still legally married by Igbo customary law and any child that she conceived from another man must be accepted and provided for by the man including having a claim to the man's inheritance whether the husband likes it or not, if her father refuse to return the money, the husband must announce that he had forfeited the money to the attention of both families.

Corrections.

Any child she conceived from another man will either be accepted or rejected by the former husband if the bride price is not returned.
Nobody will force him to accept a child that is not his unless he choose to. And the illegitimate child will never inherit anything unless the man choose to allow it.

On the other side, the lady can't remarry unless the bride price is returned while the man can remarry multiple times sef without collecting the first bride price.

In Igbo tradition, it's a man's world

Bauchi road is Muslim area just like Akpata is Igbo area. That doesn't mean Jos North is Muslim dominated or Igbo dominated.

There're more traditional worshippers in Jos North compared to Muslims

Terrible. But how did the police conclude that the murderers are Irigwe youths? I have my suspicions because there is an unwritten agreement since the major crisis that Muslims generally occupy Jos North while Christians hold Jos South.

Both sides have generally kept to the agreement ever since.

Did you say Muslims occupying Jos North? Have you ever been to Jos?

The mom said so and I believe her,so what are you saying

What I am saying is that it's not possible to earn salary from CBN when you're not working there.

You can't do traditional marriage without paying Bride price... It's not possible.

If she said they did only church wedding maybe I will believe her but with traditional marriage involved, she's lying and probably influenced her daughter to leave her husband.

Stop believing anything you hear

You forgot the part were Fulani used and later killed Adaka Boro......
Or you don't want to talk about his death?

You see one thing about divide and rule..... E no dey work again.

Jones4190:
ARE YOU A BIAFRAN?
Those who arrested and sentenced Isaac Adaka Boro to death for declaring Niger Delta Republic were neither Hausa-Fulanis nor Yorubas but two supposed brothers of his and Biafrans named Odumegwu Ojukwu and Aguiyi Ironsi who were still on the side of Gambaris and still trying to please them as at then. For declaring Niger-Delta Republic Ironsi, the then military head of state, ordered Ojukwu to get Isaac Boro arrested for treason.
Ojukwu, in an attempt to please Gambaris, fought Isaac Boro for 14 days within which he used federal might of “one-Nigeria” to kill 150 soldiers loyal to Isaac Boro, caught Isaac Boro, stripped him naked and sent him over to Lagos where Ironsi charged him to court and within just 2 months got him convicted, at the Supreme Court, of treasonable felony of trying to break away from Azikiwe’s one Nigeria, got him sentenced to death by hanging. While Ironsi and Ojukwu did all that to Isaac Boro, they left untouched their own Igbo brother soldiers who planned a coup with which they killed Innocent Hausas, Yorubas, Niger Deltans, Middle belters leaving Igbo politicians unharmed despite they, like Zik and Okpara, were part and parcel of the corrupt Balewa government.
However, before Ojukwu and Ironsi could execute their sentence on Isaac Boro God intervened and the counter coup happened. Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Gowon took over declared Isaac Boro innocent and released him. But just fifteen months later Ojukwu too declared Biafra Republic due to the way Igbos were being killed in the North. In declaring Biafra, rather than first apologise to Isaac Boro for what he earlier did to him and then ask for his cooperation in fighting to realize the Biafra dream, Ojukwu did nothing like that but without consulting Boro at all went as far as arrogantly including in his Biafra map the very Niger Delta areas which Isaac Boro earlier tried to pull out of Nigeria and which he (Ojukwu) nearly killed him for.
This angered Isaac Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa who both pledged support for Gowon in order to teach Ojukwu a bitter lesson for his arrogance and dishonesty. That was why Isaac Boro and Saro Wiwa fought on the side of Gowon during the war. Naturally Isaac Boro couldn’t have come out of prison to join the Ojukwu who jailed him and fight against the Gowon who released him. It would have been absurd. No rational human being does that.
This is the truth of what happened and which Igbos hate to hear but prefer to blame everyone else as if they themselves were 100℅ innocent.
Igbos must learn to say the truth because if the Biafra/Niger Delta Republic they now seek is founded on lies and deliberate falsehood, like Nigeria, it will not stand but will soon become a failed state like Nigeria. We can’t leave Nigeria for another Nigeria.
But we however know that Igbos allergy to truth is incurable, therefore Niger-Delta states will never be part of Biafra
