PoliticsRe: 2019 Election: Fulani Group Denies Endorsing President Buhari by uprightman(m): 8:45am On Jan 03, 2019
15Ebisco:
A Fulani group, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria, has distanced itself from what it described as ‘dangerously selfish and unilateral endorsement’ of President Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.

Reacting to the alleged endorsement of PMB in 2019 by some pastoralists, the National Secretary-General of the association, Ibrahim Abdullahi, in a statement issued in Kaduna, said the recent endorsement of a candidate by a group of pastoralists could if allowed unchallenged, pitch the innocent, maligned and neglected pastoralists against other Nigerians.

The group noted that the endorsement would create more hardship on pastoralists in states governed by other political parties.

The National Secretary General called on candidates from other political parties and other Nigerians to disregard the ‘so-called’ endorsement by some selfish individuals who do not care whatever happens to their members as long as they can satisfy their pecuniary interests.

He added, “The association held an emergency meeting to discuss wide-ranging issues affecting pastoralists across the nation with a view to proffering solution and way forward.

“The meeting observed that recently, some pastoralists associations have enmeshed themselves and their members into partial politics, a position that could further escalate their already degenerating relationships with other segments of the society.

“The meeting, therefore, condemned these pronouncements made without any consultation and or consensus by the generality of the pastoralists across the country.

“We call on pastoralists to vote for any candidate who has a programme that will alleviate their suffering irrespective of party, tribe or religion.”

The group disclosed that the association has concluded plans to embark on ‘ruga to ruga’ or hamlet to hamlet consultations across the country to sensitise pastoralists on how best to approach the coming general elections in the country.

It called on candidates from other political parties to feel free and highlight their polices and programmes as they affect the welfare and well-being of Nigerian pastoralists.

It urged traditional leaders who are not partisan to call leaders of these associations to order to ensure and sustain a harmonious environment before, during and after the elections.

WebmastersRe: See The Nonsense I Got From Web4africa by uprightman(m): 7:18am On Jan 03, 2019
webincomeplus:
Good day fellas,

After much hesitation, I decided to try my hands on a .com.ng domain for the first time ever (I have over 10 .com domain names). I got recommendations that Web4Africa is one of the best registrars to opt for, and I decided to register the domain name with them.

Earlier today, I registered the domain name, paying via PayPal. It was successfully registered and I was immediately sent an email to that effect.

But to my surprise, I logged in to my client areas to change my nameservers, and the option to edit it wasn't enabled. More surprisingly, there was an "Expired" label under the domain name's status (a domain name I just registered). And even more surprisingly, the expiry date showed the correct expiry date (Jan 2, 2019).

Now, when I discourage people against all these shitty Nigerian and African hosts, some people think I'm being unpatriotic. It's over 10 hours now since I sent them a support ticket, and I've gotten no reply. With the likes of Namecheap and other reputable registrars and hosts, you get instant access to whatever you've paid for. With experiences like this, I guess Nigeria/Africa isn't ready at all.
Brother , don't generalize. I am using .com.ng from domaianking.ng and is working. They always respond to issue through email or live chat. My blog is www.footballnews.com.ng

In-coming Aare Ogboni (generalissimo of Ogboni Ekiti) of Ekiti State, Chief Emmanuel Ayodele Famodimu has revealed that his grouse with Christians is that they place more emphasis on Jesus Christ than God Almighty, wondering if Christians do not think that the Supreme would be angry with them over the more attention they accord Jesus Christ.

He made this known to newsmen on Tuesday while being received by top members of the Ogboni confraternity at the Imesi Ile, in Osun State, origin of Oke-lmesi town in Ekiti, as part of the traditional preparations for his installation as the Aare Ogboni, generalissimo of Ogboni cult in Ekiti.

SportsWhat Jehovah's Witnesses Believe About Sports by uprightman(op):
Jehovah's witnesses is not against sports or one exercising his or herself.

Footballnews.com.ng bring you what Jehovah's witness believes about sports. Football or other Sports can be good for you—or bad for you. It all depends on what you play, how you play, and how much you play.

What are the benefits?

What are the pitfalls?

What your peers say

What are the benefits?

Playing football or other sports can contribute to good health. The

holy Scriptures acknowledges that “physical exercise is beneficial.” (1 Timothy 4:8, footnote) “Palying sports is a great way to stay active,” says a young man named Ryan. “It’s a lot better than staying indoors palying video games.”

Playing sports can promote teamwork and self-discipline. The holy Scriptures uses an illustration based on a sport to teach a positive point. It says: “The runners in a race all run, but only one receives the prize.” It then states: “Everyone competing in a contest exercises self-control in all things.” (1 Corinthians 9:24, 25) What are the lesson to derive from this is? It takes self-control and cooperation to play by the rules of a sport. A teenager named Abigail agrees. She says, “Palying sports has taught me how to cooperate and communicate with others.”

Palying sports can build friendships. Participating in in a

game brings people together. “Nearly all games involve some type of competition,” says a young man named Jordan, “but if you keep it about having fun, palying sports is a great way to connect with friends.”

What are the pitfalls?

What you play. The holy Scriptures says: “Jehovah examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one; He hates anyone who loves violence.”—Psalm 11:5.

Some sports are obviously violent. For instance, a young woman named Lauren observes: “The whole point of boxing is to beat up the other person. As Christians, we abstain from fighting, so why would we allow ourselves to be entertained by watching others get knocked around?”

Footballnews.com.ng is asking you: Have you allowed yourself to justify palying or watching violent sports, thinking it will not make you commit violent acts? If so, remember that Psalm 11:5 says that Jehovah disapproves of the person who “loves violence,” not just the person who practices it.

How you play. The Bible says: “Do nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with humility consider others superior to you.”—Philippians 2:3.

Of course, any activity involving opposing teams will include a degree of competition. But a win-at-all-costs attitude will only take the fun out of the game. “A competitive spirit can quickly overtake you,” says a teenager named Brian. “The better you are at sports, the more you have to work on humility.”

To think about: A young man named Chris admits, “We play soccer each week, and there have been injuries.” So ask yourself, ‘What factors can make injuries more likely to occur? What can I do to minimize the risk of injury?’

How much you play. The Bible says: “Make sure of the more important things.”—Philippians 1:10.

You need to set your priorities; spiritual things should come first. Most games can last several hours, whether you are palying or just watching. “I used to have conflicts with my mom over how much time I spent watching games on TV when that time could have been better spent,” says a young woman named Daria.

Someone pours a huge amount of salt on a plate of food

Putting too much emphasis on sports is like putting too much salt on your food

To think about: Do you listen when your parents offer advice about your priorities? A young woman named Trina says: “When my siblings and I used to watch sports and neglect important duties, my mom would remind us that the players were getting paid whether we watched them or not. ‘But who’s paying you?’ she would ask us. What she meant was this: The players already have a job. But if we were to slack off on our homework and other responsibilities, we wouldn’t be able to support ourselves in the future. Basically, mom was telling us that watching or playing sports should not be the most important thing in our life.”

As much as this is commendable as it shows his level of acceptance by his people. But a worrisome aspect is how people leave their jobs if they have any to welcome these theiving politicians who steal their commonwealth
This is Nigeria scale of acceptance. When Buhari went to kano and other places in the north people come out like this. In one of the visit Mr President buhari boost about the crowd as evidence that he can win every election . Before Igbos don't have time for all this type of politics. Many people said Igbos don't know politics ,so people are trying to learn from other parts of the country. This trick makes one more popular among his or her contemporaries. You know Nigerians always follow bandwagon. There is more politicians that loot in the north buth the way they package them makes them look saint. Take for example, kwankwaso have supporters despite having courts cases on corruption. Many of them contesting election are people that stolen enough money in their service years. Business men in North don't have time for politics. Here in North ,out of all Keke tricycle on the road 80% have picture of Kwankwaso. There a proverbs that says, when you say your basket is rubbish , your neighbors will use as dustbin.

dainformant:
Gunmen have killed at least six people at a mosque at Kawddi village, Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state. The attack, which also injured at least eight people, occurred around 8pm on Tuesday.

Muhammad Shehu, spokesman of the state police command, confirmed the incident. He said the gunmen invaded the village in large numbers and started shooting sporadically.

Situated in a thick forest and surrounded by rocks, Kwaddi village shares boundary with the Niger Republic, a terrain which the police spokesman said made it difficult for security operatives to respond swiftly to any distress call.

He, however, said security operatives had been deployed in the village to forestall further attacks and restore calm to the area.

Last week, three people were killed in a similar attack on five villages in Gidan Goga district of Maradun local government area of the state.

lordtosan:
Much as I hate Buhari's administration and the man himself, I think this statement by Ben Bruce is "nationally wrong' and not good for our development. Ben Bruce must be seen as an enemy of the state.

Yes, the past government started it but the project would have been a deserted ruin if this present government had turned it's face away. The man who completes a task deserves the better share of the accolades. And that's what Buhari has done. This statement by Bruce has the potential of discouraging continuity in governance which in turn will stifle development. Lets not allow our party affiliation and political loyalty stagnate our progress.

Goalscorers covert chances created by other players to goals and take much of the glory even though they might not have been involved in the build up play. Yet their names get put in the scorer sheet and they get praised for the goals without which those created chances would have been a total waste.

CrimeJames Ayodele Levi Jailed For Using Fake ICAN Certificate To Gain Promotion by uprightman(op): 11:22pm On Jul 02, 2018
A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, sitting in Jabi, Abuja, has sentenced a civil servant in the office of the Auditor-General of the Federation (AuGF), James Ayodele Lebi, to two years imprisonment for using fake Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) certificate to gain promotion in his office.

Justice Y. Halilu also imposed a N100, 000 fine on the convict who will spend his jail term in prison in Keffi, Nasarawa State, following the conclusion of a case brought against him, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Earlier, ICPC in a one-count charge had told the court that the convict had approached the Director of Admin and Human Resources in AuGF, with a fake ICAN certificate requesting that he be converted and upgraded from the position of an Executive Officer to that of a Senior Auditor.

The Commission told the court that his action was contrary to Section 25 (1) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and punishable under the same section.

The judge, while passing the judgment, said that the convict deserved to be sentenced accordingly as punishment, as well as deterrence to others from committing the same crime.

He called on the federal government to ensure strict vetting of its workers to prevent those with fake certificates from hiding in the system.

His words: “The accused knew well that he never had ICAN certificate but produced the fake certificate and got elevated from an Executive Officer to a Senior Auditor in a country such as ours where securing government employment is so difficult.

‘Government should scrutinize all employees on its payroll to ensure that people like the convict do not take advantage of the system because the convict would have risen to the prestigious position of AGF if he had not been caught

The judge, who rejected the ex-NSA’s prayer for N5bn damages granted him bail in the sum of N200m with two sureties who must either be a civil servant of Grade Level 16 at the minimum in the Federal Civil Service or private citizens, who have landed properties in the municipal areas of Abuja.
