we prefer to look at the positives of the preseason and we agree the team has improved. so we expect the 3 points.although complacency shouldnt be exihibited since they were able to grab 3points in the bernebau fortress.

what is the objective of the H2H.

is it elimination straight or who ever we are paired with we compete with for the season?

once again pardon my naivety of the game.

violence in football bothers everybody
but more worrisome is the hypocricy from some pseudo-angelic personas in spain.
you(barsa) abuse your opponents psychologically and physically
and you never apologise for such an act
but when the tides ''turn'' you cry blue murder

show me a place where any thing barcelona condemned the act by any of its players, staff or fans then we can talk of  morality and objectivity from all parties concerned.
until then
he nor any madridista does not owe a violent protagonist(a.k.a barcelona) an apology or remorse.

Fans to welcome Whites in Santiago Bernabeu Trophy after their great performances in the preseason and Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid will face Galatasaray, the most honoured side in Turkish football history, in the 33rd edition of the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy. The Whites look to win the title again this year by giving a performance worthy of the great football they showcased during the preseason and in the Spanish Super Cup.

Galatasaray have never participated in the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy. This will be their second match at the stadium after losing the return leg of the 2000/01 Champions League quarterfinals 3-0.

Jose Mourinho will take all his men with him to the match, as well as the academy's Tomas Mejias, Nacho, Alex, Mendes, Mandi and Morata.

Real Madrid won the six previous editions of the Trophy by defeating MLS Soccer Selection, Anderlecht, Partizan, Sporting Portugal, Rosenborg and Peñarol. If they win tonight, they will equal the run they had between 1994 and 2000 by defeating Palmeiras, Ajax, Benfica, Portuguesa, Peñarol, Milan and Santos.

BEST TWO RUNS IN THE SANTIAGO BERNABEU TROPHY
YEAR FINAL YEAR FINAL
1994 R. Madrid 3-2 Palmeiras 2005 R. Madrid 5-0 ML Soccer Selection
1995 R. Madrid 1-0 Ajax 2006 R. Madrid 2-1 Anderlecht
1996 R. Madrid 4-0 Benfica 2007 R. Madrid 2-0 Partizan
1997 R. Madrid 1-0 Portuguesa 2008 R. Madrid 5-3 Sporting Portugal
1998 R. Madrid 4-0 Peñarol 2009 R. Madrid 4-0 Rosenborg
1999 R. Madrid 4-2 A.C. Milan 2010 R. Madrid 2-0 Peñarol
2000 R. Madrid 2-0 Santos 2011 R. Madrid – Galatasaray

Fourteen Real Madrid players have managed to score a brace in a Santiago Bernabeu Trophy match, but no one has managed a hat-trick yet. Cunningham and Pineda came close in the first two editions of the tournament, as well as Karim Benzema against Rosenborg two years ago.

Galatasaray have won the Turkish league 17 times and are the most honoured side in Turkey. They are also the only Turkish team with European titles (UEFA Cup, European Super Cup) and the only side, alongside Ajax, to be undefeated in an entire UEFA Cup season.

This is coach Fatih Terim's third season at the helm of the team, aided by legendary former Brazil goalie Claudio Taffarel as goalkeeper coach. The squad boasts the talents of new signings Felipe Melo, Ujfalusi, Eboue, Elmander and Fernando Muslera, as well a seasoned men like Milan Baros and Culio.

LETTER FROM EL MISTER

Only those who don't know me can dream, make up or believe I may leave Real Madrid at this stage,

I believe many people were surprised by the quality football showcased by Real Madrid during the preseason and it would be surprising news to them if I left the club now. Impossible!

I have a fantastic President who is very intelligent and with whom I have a great friendship. I also have a Director General who works for the club 24 hours a day, so my motivation is enormous and my Madridismo is even greater than that of some pseudo-Madridistas,

There is no way I'm leaving. No way!

I also wish to apologise to Madridistas, and only to them, for my attitude in our last game. Some people are better adapted to the hypocrisy in football than I am, and they hide their faces and speak in whispers deep inside tunnels.

I'm not learning to be a hypocrite, and I don't want to.

Best wishes to all. We'll see each other tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

AjanleKoko:
You're wrong there.
Forget fan-speak. I doubt the team itself, or Pep, ever underestimates Mourinho or Madrid. Definitely not yesterday.

Plus, the Barca players are obviously not at their best, so you guys had the advantage, and it showed clearly who is in better form, never mind the result.
If you think your team will play at this level of fitness all season, or Barca will be matchable all the time, you better think again. Remember they started slow last season, lost to Hercules, drew to Mallorca, struggled against Gijon, etc, before results started coming. Just think about the number of teams they hit for 5 after the Madrid thrashing. Sociedad, Espanyol . . . you yourself sabi the list.

Madrid came into the first El Clasico as league leaders, on a high, last year. They left Camp Nou 5 goals to the worse. So be very careful before you start encouraging yourself. One thing is clear from yesterday. Barca as a team are not invincible, never have been, but they have some 'spiritual players' in the squad. Out of maybe 5 or 6 goalscoring chances, they took 3. Madrid could only take 2 of maybe 12.
''the worst man to have a fight with is the one that has nothing to loose.''

Sure you cant be 100% sicked up all through the season,
but believe me since the 5-0 scoreline, the players obviously have made a vow never to let such happen again.

previously it was always a barca 70-30 possession
last night the world saw RM players play possession football with barca

previously it was barca that always took the initiative to us
last night contrary to ''all of una'' expectations we took the fight(not literarily grin) to the camp nou ''spirits''

previously it was all barca attack with multiples of shots on goal
last night we saw a los blancos that wasted chances upon chances on goal

previously it was always a talk of manita
nowadays it is a talk of we will still beat you, which is a normal statement when playing any other team

RM players are presently on a high to show that they can match up to barca players

Things have improved over the months and they sure will get better for RM. Barca has little improvements to occur and they sure have re-inforced brilliantly with fab and sanchez. but the momentum is more on RM's side. wink

it depends on the relationship between the 2 managers.
mourinho and pep don't see eye to eye. there was a time fergie and wenger were fierce enemies too.
you have 2 natural winners managing the top 2 teams in a league. . . .in a country where there's a divide between catalonians and madridstas

what do you expect? mourinho is controversial but he is a winner.
that is how he wins. . . .siege mentality!

lol at dayo posting pics.
was that the incident that started the brawl?
marcelo axed cesc. . . , barca players ganged around marcelo and it was pushing n shoving.

marcelo saw red. . . . .in the melee, someone slapped ozilmourinho spotted the slapper and he pulled his ear.
the slapper retaliated and shoved mourinho.

but let's blame mourinho for it. . . .he rugby-tackled cesc on the pitch.
they will never see that part of the game.

the referee is there to issue the cards, but barca players and official will just of they skins and go for the jugular of the opposing team player.

fine Marcee axed fabregas stupidly, but obviously the ref is the one officiating and not a villa or valdes or pique.

their players are the always edgy firebrands and just like their supporters are always trigger ready to push and shove even when the incidence does not involve them.

absolutely spot on.
