To any automobile driver his first wish list is that he/she never ezperiences a situation in which the ride develops a fault mid-way to or from a journey. tonight I had another of such ''true-life horror films''. On my way back from ikorodu after dropping-off my fiancee at school, on getting to Ikorodu garrage i switched-off the engine due to the seemingly immobile hold-up. alas, when the queue started to move and I switched on my car engine the car refused to start(yeeeepaaa mogbe). I was assisted by road workers(garrage boys) in pushing it to the near-by filling station. And that was the least of my problem. because when I made enquiries on whether i could get a rewire(as it seemed like the likely cause was electrical) nearby the reponse was no. when I called my rewire, he said he dont live near by and worse of all dont know any colleague or friend around where I was. when I pleaded with the filling station workers, mechanics and security personnel if I could leave the car their till morning the answer was also NO.(am in deep sh*t). when I again enquired if I could park it in a near by garrage the answer was NOT POSSIBLE.(infact am now in trouble). So I resorted to calling my rewire and ask for instructions on what and what to do. He just said i should just try as much as possible to locate the key-starter and try shaking all its electrical connections and see if it may work. After three trials and repeated silence of the engine when I try starting it, I almost lost hope and the only companion I had, another bus driver just simply walked away after trying his own luck too. but praise be to God after another trial the engine responded. I cant really explain how happy I was. and there ended my own ''horror film'' on the high way. I guess some of ya must have more interesting experiences. I sha thank God for sparing me further headaches, cos I really dont know what I would have done. ![]() |
just heard it on cool f.m( freeze on the road show) my feel is ; THERE IS FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN. now the politicking just got started. ![]() |
I hope this wont turn out to be one of those season 1,2,3,4,5,6,, films. right now reading through the letters is turning into a BIG task. kindly let the story have an end, or better stil make a movie or series out of it. |
since the day Oshodi and Mushin market were leveled, that gave me the mentality that If you receive any notice from this lagos govt then take them seriously. I live in ketu(tipper garrage axis). some shops in my area have been given notices os demolition and they been instructed to vacate the illegal roadside structures since last week.yet none of them has flinched. I just hope they are able to move as soon as possible. when i enquired from one of them she said she was aware of the notice.but alas she is still staying put as at the time i typed this. |
the security personnel, often is an idiot attimes able to slap the sh*t out of his boss |
i always pray that i could just buy a house rather than build a new one. i see building a house as being stressful. but its better to start building if getting the money to buy a house at ones is hard to gather at once. @lawyer,your advice was o.k. but maybe your pal had some unknown reasons for opting to rent an apartment. |

am a fan of both chelsea and man city and am happy man city won, REASON -so man city will most likely end up in the top four -chelsea can still win the league, even though they lost to man city ![]() |

NA WA OH. i tot the sacking game had ended. I was one of the affected ones in intercontinental bank plc. truth be told its heart wrenching.its even more sickening when you hear of more of such acts happening or about to happen to your colleagues. the right to hire and fire lies solely with the employer but I sincerely hope the management of PHB dont act in same manner as that of intercontinental bank that refused to pay the affected staffs their due benefits and entitlements up until now. imagine lossing your job and not get any cushion(pay) as at time of disengagement. i hope this madeness stops. |
AND THE MAN DIED BUT THE WIFE LIES AND THE NATION CRIES WHILE THE POLITICAL THIEVES STEAL IN MILES SOMEDAY I EXPECT THE NEWS HEADLINE; PRESIDENT YAR,ADUA IS DECLARED DEAD. -S.S.S:death had to be kept secret for security reasons -TURAI in morning refuse to speak to press -jonathan to sworn in tomorrow -e.t.c |

to all those thinking of putting money in our banks, my advice is you can.Sanusi surely has his reputation to protect.hence he surely wont allow the banks to go under. even Soludo did all he could even sticking his neck out in other to salvage his legacy of ''mega banks''. All the banks presently are doing one and same thing, ----non is lending. ----all laid-off staff ----all is calling in their loans and facilities ----non is emplying(yet, they all will soon) the banking structure built by soludo actually has a good foundation only that the end work of the building was not supervised properly. thats my take. |
Mallam Sanusi, most likely wont liquidate the banks. I expect he'ld sell them to foreign banks for the sake of keeping competition amongst the banks in the economy. moreover this I feel is better than liquidating the concerned banks. but its amazing how day in day out he keeps making rounds in the news. |
to make it a multitasking role ---he cleans yar a$$ after he poos ---he helps him dial BBC number when next he feels he wants to talk to us ---he helps Judge Abutu and co to twist and turn the law/constitutions interpretation. ![]() shameless man |
he already has a job function that he performs assidously without fear or favor The job of being the liaison officer between yarádua/turai and Nigeria. what more honorable duty exists. (shaking my head) the man is a thief and can now go and sit down to enjoy the fruits(lootings rather) of the last few 80 days. |
AS I TYPR THIS LINE WE DONT HAVE ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY. hence Insha Allah Biqudratihi I will make N.E.P.A/P.H.C.N/power sector function properly |

THE Economic Intelligence Unit that did the survey used data from Mercer consulting Group. And Mercer's Quality of Living Survey(Mercer consulting group) does the comparism based on 39 criterias the most important of which are are safety, education, hygiene, health care, culture, environment, recreation, political-economic stability and public transportation. And truth be told we(LAGOS) are not amongst the best on the above criteria.however i salute gov. fashola because most of his policies and projects are geared towards getting those factors available in lagos state. and the reason for him doing these is also stated by mercer consulting group,''The importance of the list lies primarily in that internationally operating companies use it to determine where they will open offices or plants and how much they pay the employees''. so thats BRF's vision for lagos state. by the way going throug the list abuja did not feature amongst the top 100 as well . and that shows that we have a lot of work to do in nigeria.but i believe uncle fash and working towards it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_quality_of_living#Top_cities_by_region |
-the 4 months basic salary is not the banks policy, nor compliant with labour rules.(thats why they removed it from the system) -the nationa health insurance scheme provides six months cover for redundant staff of any member company(do they want us to die in case of sickness) -as for the shares, if i have a loan for 10,000 units of the banks shares and money amounting to 8,000 had been deducted from my salary.a certificate for the 8,000 units should be given to me.since the contract binding us together had been severed by them. -all banks, Intercontinental Bank inclusive are members of ASSBIFI. what is being demanded is what ought to be given and not som special treatment. the bank knows this cause there is a signed agreement to that effect. Moreover, the labour we are not contract staff.HABA. this is corporate terrorism on their part |
the above letter was now followed with a second letter with the heading; RE-DISESNGAGEMENT LETTER However, the contents of this sequel(as I prefer to call it) varies from individual to individual. But, the puzzling part was that no matter the number of years of service you put in we were all said to be only entitled to four months basic(not full ooooo) salary. Secondly, our health insurance cards were collected a lists sent to the hospitals containing our names Thirdly, those of us with share loans were refused our share certificates(either paid up or not) About a month or two before the disengagement letters were served, we used to have access to our terminal benefits on the system.suddenly it was deleted. and no one both within or laid off can say this is what he is entitled to in case he leaves the banks services my people many many things have happened this last few weeks that makes me feel this CBN management officials of Intercontinental bank are really not sincere with all what Sanusi is preaching Good Corporate Governance is surely lacking even with them at the helm of affairs If you want maoredetails I surely can give.First hand info cos I am affected And as per what we want the banks management should comply with what they signed together with ASSBIFI, concerning redundant staff |
to make it clearer, our letters has the following details: DISENGAGEMENT We regret to inform you that your services will no longer be required with immediate effect. In accordance with the terms of your employment, you will be paid one month basic salary in lieu of notice in addition to other benefits which you are entitled to (if any). You will however be advised of the position of your terminal account as soon as this has been computed. Management has also approved that you should be paid three months basic salary as ex-gratia. Please hand over all the Bank's assets in your possesion to Human resources department. We thanks you for the services you have rendered since you joined the Bank, and wish you success in your future endeavours. Yours Faithfully, Intercontinental Banks Plc Habila Amos Head,Human Resources |
soludo built ''mega banks'' but didn't monitor them adequately, thus nigeria biggest problem(corruption) crept in the form of corporate corruption. sanusi duely tried saving the banks from ''supposedly collapse'' and this he did(still doing)with brute force. Now in the name of lack of corporate governance, akingbola, ibru, atuche and co are being prosecuted. Staffs of banks both healthy, satisfactory, shaken and what have you have been laid off. But my crux of the whole issue is, why would a ''CBN administered'' intercontinental bank lay off staff(not contract staff) with years of service to the bank and say they are not entitled to any gratuity or benefit. Definately that is not cooporate governance nor a sign of Integrity as claimed by SLS and Mahmoud Alabi(new MD of INTERCONTINENTAL BANK). and there are so many atrocities that is being done against those of us that were disengaged last year. ![]() |
wish i could have a go at hhis neck. in my over 2 decades of concious existence, never have I seen a man so arrogant, defiant and terribly distant from human feelings. may he forever be disgraced.shameless pig. |
